Yah I don't know what's going on with the owner, but she was so rude. I called and had a 2 hour appointment from 4:30-6:30pm Showed up at 4:20 and was escorted to the room. At 4:55 she came in and said that they were being delayed and would have to turn mine to a 90 min because they have another guest coming at 6:30. Okay unfortunate but no big deal. Life happens. The masseuse begin at 5 and then at 5:50 she starts wiping the oil off with the hot towel and promptly ends at 6. Saying all done. I kept telling her we had 30 more minutes but there was language barrier. So whatever fine I got dressed. When I came to the front counter to pay she still trying to charge me for 90 minutes, I calmly explained that we only did the massage for 1 hour, the masseuse was sweet so I still tipped her 60 bucks like I normally do for a 2 hour sesh and just expressed that I should only be paying for 1 hour since that's all I received. She then started yelling at me that we don't like people who try to steal and took 20 dollars out her purse and threw at me and said I can't take the discount off the card. I told her nicely like hey. I'm not penny pinching or dishonest. I don't need your 20 dollars cash because I havnt even paid yet. Can you kindly just charge me for 1 hour and I will be in my merry way. And she continued to berate me while charging my card. Like what is going on I could've lied, taken your 20 dollars and walked out with a free massage but I was honest. No one is trying to pull One over on you or steal, I just only wanted to pay for services rendered. This will be the last time I patronage your business. read more

Came here for a dry sauna. Their dry sauna is constructed weirdly - there's a giant area under the bench that just remains cold, and acts like a heat sink, so it takes forever to heat up. I bought the 30 min. By the end of my 30 mins it was finally the heat that I needed and I started breaking a sweat. if I come here again, it will be because I'm in an urgent need of a dry sauna ((it's Memorial Day today and my regular place is closed), and then it will be for an hour and I will control the thermostat myself! read more

After reading all the reviews. I was really excited to try this place out. So I decided to book some treatments the beginning of January for Valentine's Day weekend. And it did not live up to the reviews. As soon as we walked in the guy at the front desk was not friendly. As we sat there waiting, some customers were done with their treatment and left a tip with one of the workers. She said you guys can share it, well that made the worker upset and she started arguing with the other worker. If that wasn't enough our room was given to someone else. So we were told to wait for 5mins. It was much longer than that and at this point from everything that happened within the 10-15mins we were there we decided to leave. read more

My husband bought a gift card for me for us to get couples massage. He called on Tuesday for us to get massages for Sunday. The receptionist scheduled us at 11 for a 60 minute couples and 30 minute hot tub session. When we arrive no one is at the desk and there is no bell for us to ring to alert staff to our arrival. We wait 10 minutes before someone (the owner) comes from the back. When my husband says we have an 11am appointment she is confused (looks at an appointment book and other papers on her desk) and ask us what services we booked. He reiterates we had a 11am appointment for 60 minute couples massage and 30 minute hot tub. She then asked if we wanted to pay first. This threw us off and we said no. Then we were escorted to a room in the back. Without instruction the two workers left us in the room. There was no sheet over the tables so we were confused what to do. After looking around I then see a folded sheet that I told my husband that those must be the sheets to cover ourselves. The massage begins and my therapist (a male) does a dry massage for 25 minutes then moves to an oiled massage where he slaps the oil on me and his hands are calloused so I feel all the ridges on his fingers. It was a less than stellar massage. My husband had better luck with his but was still underwhelmed. When we were done I declined the hot tub (I was ready to leave). When we go to pay my husband shows the owner our gift card and she says that the shop has changed ownership and that the gift card was not valid anymore. My husband was very confused and frustrated because he just go the gift card. We paid the balance and the owner tried to give us a 20 dollar gift card but we declined. Why wouldn't she just credit us instead of letting us pay full price and offering a gift card after. We will not be returning. This was the worst spa experience we ever had. read more

First time customer. Was a little worried by the website and advertised services at the front desk as they didn't list the Traditional Thai massage that I booked through Booksy. It was explained that my masseuse (Sunny!) had only been working here for 2 weeks with limited avail on Sunday and Thursday. Sunny was amazing and checked in with me often to give me just the right amount of pressure to get my knots out. She could tell I was sore and didn't want to use her elbows which would have made it worse. She also gave me a wonderful first time foot reflexology + leg massage experience. You get what you pay for and less. Wanted a quick massage and walked-in for a 60min. Requested a female therapist which happens to be the owner. We start the massage and a few moments later therapist had to run out for something. Ok once or even twice I can tolerate but she left during my massage a total of 5 times! Each time she returned I wondered if her hands were cleaned ? Regardless, the owner did apologize for a lackluster massage and blamed the front desk girl was too young and didn't know how to handle bookings properly. I also work in the service industry and this standard of customer service is a new low. I hate bashing any small business especially woman owned, but there is something seriously wrong when you treat new or any customers with that little regard for their comfort and satisfaction. They apologized at the end but still took my money and gave me a $10 GC for next time. Sorry but I cannot support a business that (no matter how cheap) has such low standards for service for their customers. Stumbled upon this hidden gem and decided to book a couples massage and some hot tub time. Staff was extremely nice and welcoming, especially the manager Lily. The massage was one of the best I have had, the room was the perfect temperature and the oils and lotion were not too fragrant. I called and made an appointment here for two massages for my Girlfriend and I. We had arrived on time and followed all instructions, filled out all forms, had our temperature taken, etc... Only to be refused service due to us not being vaccinated even though my girlfriend had a negative Covid test from just a couple of days before. I understand and fully acknowledge their right to only serve those clients that they choose to since this is a private business but my review is based on the absolute lack of customer service. They did not tell us when I called, they do not have any signs posted, there is no government mandate for vaccines, etc... Some people have religious exemptions, allergies to ingredients, etc... to the vaccine. The negative covid test should have been acceptable and if not, we should have at least been told before we drove all the way over, filled out all the paperwork, etc... I will never patronize a business that treated me as if I was dirty, diseased, and less than. read more

This place used to be great. Had gone 2 times in years past and had great massages. The last time I went I took a friend and the energy was completely different. I think it's under new ownership. There used to be a very kind sweet women at the front desk. She was not there and the guy at the front desk doesn't have good vibes. I was starting to get vibes from this place like happy ending vibes. My massage felt strange. The energy of the therapist was not to make my body relax but was definitely giving more erotic vibes. I was never touched inappropriately per se but I could feel that the therapist was looking waiting for me to give some sort of sign that I was looking for something a little extra. I've been working in wellness spa industry for 20 years and have had many many massages in my life. Not good. so i made a reservation for an hour hot stone massage and 15 on the hand massage. when i got to the spa they asked me what i do and what was going on--my left shoulder, my arm, my hand--i told em where it hurts. subsequently i got the massage i needed rather than the one i initially requested. where's the hot rocks, i wondered? but i understood within the first few minutes that an executive decision was made. there wasnt even a word about it. she just got to work on the problem areas. hands and elbows digging deep into my meridians, face down i wonder: is this a...deep tissue massage? yes i think so. see i told em my left side really hurts, and they fixed it up, really focused on it for the duration. now here's someone who knows what i need better than i do. i have a lot of respect for that. a hot stone massage would not have fixed shit. ive had the deep tissue years back...or whatever exactly it is. it really is a hard pressure, looosen my grip, breathe through the pain, let the tension out of your neck and shoulders or wherever it hurts. fast forward: im half asleep and almost drooling. the relief, my goodness, months of pain relieved. with such deft precision and attention to the problem areas. you get massages here there anywhere in the world but really the first time a masseur did what was best for me rather than simply fulfill my request. for that kindness and knowledge and firm touch, i am happy to give this spa my thanks. those who have more experience are confident in their solutions, and the result was a very healing massage. and an instanteous nap afterwards. read more

I had a wonderful 30 minute hot tub soak, followed by a super relaxing hour-long aromatherapy massage and a scalp massage. My upper back and neck had a lot of tension in it, and Lily did a great job in working out those tension spots. She checked in with me regularly to make sure the pressure was ok and that I was comfortable. This spa is a clean and quiet place with excellent service. Prices are very reasonable. I am sure you have heard of plenty of places where they charge you $120 for an hour massage. This place is not one of them, this is an in between place where they aren't that expensive for massages, and they also do a really good job. I have been here several times with my friends, and booked a massage super last minute (for 3). In addition, on Valentine's day I called to see if they had any availability, and they did ...I got the 8:30PM slot for 2, which made me very happy because it was a long day at the office. They are extremely responsive through yelp, and they will even try to work around your schedule and book a massage therapist last minute in the case that they don't have one available. Their customer service skills are excellent, and that is one of the many things that i appreciate about this place. I live in Berkeley, and it is a commute to go to Pleasant Hill, but i will go there for a massage. Every time I go, i have a different therapist, and they all have done a great job. And when you let them know that the pressure is too hard, they will adjust quickly. read more

I had a great experience with New Spring Day Spa. It feels like they have thought of everything a customer would want for the smoothest experience. The whole process, from booking online to the end of the session, was hassle-free and when I showed up, they were ready for me. My 90 minute massage was great. The room I was assigned to was large and cozy. The massage therapist seemed to just know what to do and few words were exchanged. At the end, they gave me a small cup of water and a piece of candy. They even provided small Manila envelopes to put your tip for the massage therapist in. It seems like they also have a spa option, which I didn't opt for this time. I also appreciated their COVID protocol. They took my temperature before I could start my massage. They also requested I keep my mask on the whole time. TL;DR - The prices are reasonable, parking is easy, and massage was great! Would return and recommend for nearby residents. read more

I had appointments for myself and a friend at 1 PM on Mother's Day to get one and a half hour massages. I showed up at 1o'clock and my friend was a few minutes late. The man behind the counter was not wearing a mask and he asked me if I had an appointment, twice. I told him I had a 1 o'clock appointment and my friend was running a few minutes behind. He told me to wait for her and that I would still get my full-time when she got there. He didn't ask me to relax or fill out a form that was clearly on the desk. My friend shows up after another group of people is escorted for their one hour 1 PM massages. When the other group was escorted back I got up and asked when it will be our turn as my friend was now there. Mind you it was only about 1:05 PM when she showed up. Come to find out they did not even have us fill out the form indicating where we want to pressure and if we had Covid symptoms. Of course. After getting the form signed finally the lady and man behind the counter then proceeded to tell us that we had to wait. Seriously? Did the other group take our rooms? It appeared so as the woman kept trying to tell me that they were busy, very busy today. The thing is, if you're going to overbook your rooms, don't have folks waiting 15 and 30 extra minutes because of your mistake. When we finally got back to the room, the woman proceeded to tell us that we would have to wear a mask for an hour and a half. What? Why couldn't you have told us that procedure when I booked the appointment? It is extremely hot in these rooms and wearing a face covering is just ridiculous. I thought that if we were face down that we would not have to wear one. I could understand when they flip you on your back wearing a mask but not face down. There's literally no face-to-face contact. The woman then told me that I had to could "try." I mean seriously? I told her if I wanted to fall sleep it would be suffocating to have the mask on. She kept telling me to "try." So we decided OK we're going to use the mask, we are already there and it is Mother's Day and we probably won't find another place open at this time for massages for two people. Then the ladies come in to start the massage and they gave us these pillows to put over the small pillow that was already on the bed and told us we would not have to wear our mask. OK so now during the actual massage, the room again is hot. We asked for a fan, they open the door. With an open door we could hear a lot of talking and laundry going. It was very very distracting. If you come here, bring headphones. You will need them. The massage was subpar. I think the masseuse gave me some relief but for an hour and a half I was expecting a whole lot more. I massage you a lot with a towel on and not as much with the oil and the masseuse kept leaving the room for I have no idea why. My friend was able to use hot stones and even though I indicated that I would also like the complementary hot stones, the lady I guess did not hear me and did not get me hot stones. When it was close to the end, I questioned her about why I did not get hot stones and she told me that I never told her. She told me that next time I can get them. I don't think there will be a next time. I wanted to say that I kept my mouth shut. She did not even massage my head or face. I ended up leaving very deflated on Mother's Day and still sore on my back. I left a $20 tip even though I don't think that it was warranted. When we were leaving there was another woman who was there for a massage and was being told to wait as well. My advice, come here on an off day or expect to wait or expect to have some bad service and bring your mask. I will update this as the owner sent me a rude reply. On Mother's Day the owner's husband mask was below his nose and mouth. My friend had her face and head massaged. I did say yes to the hot stones. Seriously? Trying to argue on Yelp isn't good for your business. A simple apology would have sufficed. Your competition is stiff and my money belongs elsewhere. This was the WORST massage I've ever received. My "massage therapist" was clearly not professionally trained, because she used the same exact motions over and over again, rather than finding and feeling where the tension and pain were. She applied way too much pressure in the bony areas of my back and shoulders, and COMPLETELY ignored the muscle groups where the tension is held and where the pressure is actually needed. I have bruises along the bony areas of my shoulders where she applied too much pressure. As for customer service, it was also very poor. I was escorted back to my room without any conversation about where my pain and tension were. She took me to the room, said nothing, and left without telling me to undress or having any conversation. I introduced myself twice and asked how my "massage therapist" was doing today, and was met with "fine." She never even told me her name. As for ambiance, the room and spa smelled like water damage. The "massage therapist" left the room multiple times, and left the door open multiple times when she left me laying there naked with NO explanation. Anyone passing by could look in and see! When she left the door open, I could hear people eating and chatting loudly down the hall, and could even hear the traffic going by because they had my door open and the side door the the parking lot open at the same time! I have more left on my gift card, but I STILL won't be going back because I'd rather waste the money than subject myself to this "service" again. Whoever thinks they are getting a good massage here clearly hasn't had one done by a licensed massage therapist. Do yourself a favor and book a massage with a LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPIST who works at a chiropractor's office. They display their certification on the wall so you can see they are legit and their prices are the same as this horrible "spa." read more

My husband and I were able to book a 60 minute couple massage session here a week in advance, since we wanted to make sure we had a massage on my spring break. All the staff that we encountered, at this establishment, were friendly and respectful. Our masseuses were accommodating and made sure that they applied the pressure to our liking. I know some people that get massages are shy to say something if the massage is too strong or not strong enough, so they ask you directly just to make sure. Our massage was heavenly! Since I spend most of my days staring at a computer studying, I knew I had knots in my upper back and a tight neck. My masseuse focused on my problem areas and did an amazing job! It felt like my muscles melted under the strong pressure of the massage. My husband, who just got off from work prior to us coming here, really enjoyed his relaxing massage.
