This spa is top notch in Boise and only comes with the highest recommendation. I've been to Spa Urbana 3 times now and each time the staff has been 100% focused on me as a guest. Everyone is super friendly (genuinely- not in a fake or forced way) and kind. On my last visit, Stacy fixed a lash lift disaster for me and Dominique followed up two days later to make sure I was happy. (By the way, the lash lift is AMAZING! For any woman tired of curling her lashes, I highly recommend this treatment!) The spa itself is very lovely: well decorated, soothing, comfortable quiet waiting area, soft relaxing music, large treatment rooms. I had a micro-needling facial appointment here quite a while ago. I did arrive late to the appointment. The esthetician suggested a peel as well so it was added on to the appointment. After the peel, numbing solution was applied to my face. Unfortunately the numbing solution was taking too long to set in, so the esthetician decided to go ahead with the micro-needling procedure before my face was numb since she was in a rush to finish the appointment and had to go somewhere afterwards. It was incredibly painful. While she was burning my face, she remarked that it was my fault that it hurt so much because I was late. Thanks. Rather than go ahead with a an excruciatingly painful facial, I would have been okay with cancelling or rescheduling. Also, if there was not enough time, why was a peel added on to the already short appointment time? In general, a traumatic experience and I won't be back. read more

Everything about this spa is upscale, relaxing, clean, and calming. The only reason it's not getting a five star rating from me is because I waited 20+ minutes for my appointment. Added to the 10 minutes for which I arrived early and the total wait time was 30+ minutes. Since no one came back to notify me of when the delay might come to an end I eventually began to wonder if perhaps I'd been forgotten about. Having said that, the "relaxation lounge" is a nice space in which to wonder about one's status. The nail tech was sweet and very calming, a rarity these days, and my pedi looked great. As a bonus, my appointment was during 'Happy Hour' (1-4PM), which meant I also received a complimentary mini-manicure. Overall, I'd totally recommend this spa to my friends and family, with the caveat that they should be prepared for a possible wait--not always a bad thing as long as you know in advance. read more

My husband got me a massage for my birthday. It was scheduled for 3:30 the spa was busy so my massage was started at 4pm Assuming my time started would have been when I was taken back, and that I would be done at 5pm. I was out the door by 4:36. When I ask my husband did you only get me a 1/2 hr massage he said no. I spoke with the manager Dominque she was not very accommodating she said she understood but offered no compensation or resolution only sorry. Spa Urbana is supposed to be a premier spa and the prices reflex that. So with that being said I should have been treated for my entire paid service. Because they were running behind I should not have been shorted my time and service. Because of the lack of resolution I will not be back. read more

I received a $100 gift card as a Birthday gift so I decided to use it on my first facial. The facial was good however when I went to pay the bill came to $85 I said I would like to use the rest for a tip and was advised you can not use the remaining balance of a gift card for a tip. Isn't the point of getting a gift card to spoil yourself on someone elses dime? I have been to MANY spas with gift cards and NEVER heard of this policy. When I looked on their website I did not find this to be a rule. When I was leaving the spa I received an email from Spa Urbana to fill out a survey and in the survey I expressed my disappointment however obviously they don't really care because no one called me or emailed me back about my concerns. read more

This was not a great experience but I hope that if I go back this spa will have made the changes to their service as a result of my complaints. It started when my daughter and I had a mani/pedicure. Our pedicures were great however, the manicure was a disaster. We got gel manicures, they had to redo my daughter's 3 times because the curing wasn't taking. Apparently the polish was bad but they didn't figure this out until the third attempt. We were both scheduled to get lash lifts and tints. Rather then scheduling us to alternate between nails and lashes, they scheduled us both to do lashes at the same time but there was only one provider to do them so we waited an hour each. At the lash lift, either the glue, the perm solution or the rollers were not working (this was never determined) but neither my lashes nor my daughter's lifted. When we finished I asked to talk with the manager. The front desk girl was resistant evasive refused only after a long period to even give me the managers first name. Her only response was 'what would you like me to take off your bill?' In the end she deducted one lash lift and took 30% off. I asked that the manager call me later. I did hear from the manager and asked her to call back to let me know how she dealt with the chronic incompetence that was pervasive in every service and step of the process, she did and shared that she implemented a policy to handle further complaints in a respectful and helpful manner, she reported that after training involving certification of gel manicures she made some personnel changes and finally, she further trained the scheduling staff to meet the requirements of the company. My fiance and I went in for pedicures a few days before leaving for our wedding. We chose Spar Urbana over some other choices because it was familiar to my neighborhood, and I read good reviews. I had told the receptionist that it would be my fiance and I together, and asked if we would be able to get them done at the same time. She said Yes, no problem. When we arrived for our pedicures, the spa was empty except for the receptionist and one other woman. The receptionist explained the room was being cleaned up and ready, and we asked if they would have time to do a very quick touch up on our fingernails also, no paint, just some filing and minor cleanup, and again were told no problem. We sat and waited. Finally we were told to come back, where only one woman was waiting to do both our pedicures. She was a very nice woman, but alternated between us the entire time, which took twice as long as it should have had there been two people to do our pedicures/express mani. Also, whatever product she used on my nails ended up giving me horrible yellow spots on my nails, not ideal for wedding photos. After we had been there for a while, she offered us some refreshments. The receptionist said, I think we only have some really old champagne, and water. We were brought room temperature water. When I think of a spa, this is definitely NOT what I had in mind. I am used to efficiency, refreshments, and getting what I paid for. We spent $140 with tip, and left less than thrilled. read more

I went in there to get a pedicure. I had received a gift card for my birthday. The place was so nice and people seemed friendly . While getting the pedicure, the girl did not clean out the tops of my toes. All she did was the sides and then clip my nails then file them down. We had a great chat but noticed she wasn't doing that great of a job that most places give you. She didn't cover half my toes with nail polish and didn't put a clear coat over my big toes. We were disturbed by a guy named Jude who came in to tell her that her 6:00 appt was here and she needed to wrap things up when she wasn't even done with my feet. She was going to do bows on my big toes with rhinestones. He went on to tell me that next time I get a pedicure from there, I need to let them know in advance over the phone.Usually when you get a pedicure they sit you down and ask you what I want. Which is what I did. I went in on Thursday and today is Monday and by that same night, my nail polish has already chipped from both my big toes. I will never go there again. My first impression was positive, very positive. I got a facial from Brandi and really liked it. When I asked her to help me pick out products she seemed a little confused and while I asked for the toner she had used in the facial and a nice moisturizer I left with an exfoliator and a sun block with heavy zinc and beeswax. Since I was so happy with the facial I really didn't check the labels on the products and took her word for it. When I came back to return the products the owner was there (Brandi was not). The owner was very helpful and got me the right products quickly, but had some trouble with the transaction (computer stuff that I do not think could be helped) so she just let me leave with the new products with the promise that I would call in to pay the next day. When I did call in I got Brandi who was not at all apologetic for giving me the wrong stuff and was acutally condescending correcting me during our conversation. It's a nice spa with a great location and nice products but I personally will not be paying 90 for a baseline facial only to have that person be rude to me later. read more
