This was my second visit to Spaccio Pasta and it again was a nice one. We grab some lunch on a hot July afternoon, getting there right as they opened. Service was fast and friendly and our server took very good care of us. We each had a different pizza, plus we ordered the ravioli al perfumo di limone for the table to split. Ravioli with ricotta and lemon. Sounds weird, tastes delish. It was the second time I have had that at Spaccio and I wanted my friends to try it as well. It's a pretty simple, modern restaurant situated very close to St. John the Lateran, but just far enough of a walk that a lot of visitors seem to miss it. Also, there is a taxi stand just across the street so if you need to catch a ride somewhere after eating, it is super simple. All in all, another nice visit. We walked in and were greeted by a nice lady and seated. Water was filled immediately. We asked for her to choose or wine and she asked us what we were getting to pair it nicely. I choose ravioli. My friend got a pasta dish with red sauce. The wine was very good. The food was good and fresh. She always kept our drinks filled and left us to catch up while enjoying the delicious food. Nice for something earlier in the day. Good pizza. Pasta dishes are very big but didn't taste. The escarole was really tasty.

Fresh out of the airport and to our Airbnb, many places weren't open but this one was so we gave it a try. Was pretty empty when we arrived but shortly after large tour rush came in and occupied the entire back area. Very large space. The pasta was okay, not something I'd return for necessarily. But if looking for a quick bite and drink near attractions, this could be an option. read more

I could give zero star if that's an option. The waiters here are very rude and dismissive. Saying the food is mid is an overstatement. Food took forever to be brought to the table and nothing tasted good here. The waiter spilled water all over my table and my dress and not a single apology was said. I would never come back here. The whole management and the manager alone was disorganized. We ordered one tiramisu for dessert but multiple people brought us multiple tiramisu's. They also double charged us for water, and when we told the waiter he got aggressive and wasn't listening. When he refunded us in cash, he threw the bill on the floor and yelled at me. When my family told the manager that the service was horrible, that same waiter yelled "GOOD" in response. A decent Rome restaurant - food, atmosphere, service all good. We had just arrived, drop our bags an BagBnB storage next door and toured the Basilica across the street. Our AirBnB was not ready for occupancy, so we wandered around and stopped at Spaccio for lunch. It was a good first meal in Rome. We were a group of five. We were promptly seated and drinks arrived quickly. Food - we ordered pizza, gnocchi, pasta bolognese and pasta with clams and mussels. All were good, hearty fair. The gnocchi were probably the best of all the dishes. The portions were good sized for a hungry group that had been flying all evening. Service - decent. Seated promptly, orders taken quickly, food arrived in a reasonable period. All good. Atmosphere - typical Roman trattoria. Spacious. Prices - the prices were fair. The menu is posted outside in English for reference before you walk in. There is a 1 euro per person service charge on the bill - that was a little surprising. Not unexpected for a tourist focused restaurant. Overall - decent Italian food. If you're in the area looking for an Italian lunch, I'd recommend stopping here. read more

Really nice restaurant. It seems to be near a big church but there is still street parking up the road if you are renting a car. Service is a bit slow but only one guy was on the floor when I arrived however he was super nice. I order bruschetta with buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto. The bread I am still dreaming about the taste it was so good. For my meal I took a suggestion and got the carbonara with salmon. The salmon was so salty I thought it was smoked at first. The food wasn't bad just not something I would put on my list again the next time I'm in Rome. read more

I really liked this place. I thought it had a nice interior and that the staff was friendly and catered to our American early dining habits. We went in at around 5 or 6 and there was only a couple and one other person in the restaurant with us. They had english menus and the food came out promptly. My friend had the spaghetti carbonara and I had the calzone. The carbonara looked delicious and I liked my calzone very much. It was freshly baked and stuffed with mozzarella and ham. However I did notice that there was no tomato sauce, but I'm assuming it was supposed to be like that. Another friend who is vegetarian and gluten free or elders the caprese salad and a side of fries. The mozarella was cut thick as were the tomatoes. She enjoyed her meal as well. All in all I liked this place a lot and would come back if I had the chance. read more

Overall my impressions of authentic Italian cruise are very, very disappointing. The American versions are far superior. I will attribute part of this to my unwillingness to pay outrageous prices to eat pasta. Spaccio Pasta was better then most, but not what I had in mind when flying around the world for authentic cuisine. We stayed at an apartment nearby, and this was recommended to us by the owner, a local. In Rome they seem to know what spices are and put them to some use, although sparingly. So a basic pasta dish has some flavor and zest but is unwilling to embrace the bold and daring of a skilled chef. The seating is nice so there is room to stretch and relax after a day of touring. We drank and then drank some more of that famous Italian wine, working our way thorough more then a few bottles before ordering. The staff was happy to keep us seated as the restaurant filled up, came alive and became quite lively. Three stars is as high as I would go here. But it is important to note that part of that cap is from Italy not just this restaurant. Would I eat here again? Yes, if I could not find a better alternative that was fairly priced. read more

Overpriced with underwhelming dishes. Ordered the mushroom and mozzarella bruschetta and carbonara for my main. The bruschetta was okay. The flavor of the pasta was good but the sauce was overcooked so it had a similar pasty texture to that of boiled egg yolk. I also Paid 5Euro and was served 1/4 glass of mediocre wine when it was suppose to be "1 glass". The restaurant charged 1euro service fee when I told them that my hostel had referred me in order to get a 10% discount. I cannot say whether the charge is applied to all customers. read more

Eh! My husband and I had a walk around our hotel we passed up a few places before we settled on this one. The atmosphere was great! Lots of cool things to look at. This was our first meal in Rome and we were pretty disappointed. We were greeted by a friendly guy but as soon as they figured we were tourists, all service went out the window. Literally the worst service of my life. It was extremely disappointing considering I saw the staff treat Italian guests with much more enthusiasm and service than we were given. Food was okay.
