It's way, way, way too high for a food spaghetti food truck location. Even higher than most brick & mortar locations I've ordered and visited. $16 for spaghetti is about $8 to high for a food truck with limited staff costs, limited overheads operating costs, just to name a few. Great NY Italian out of a truck here. They got some classics like carbonara and Chicken Parmigiana. I've tried the carbonara which is good and a great portion with a breadstick. I've had better carbonara before (I do think gumba's version is a bit tastier but not twice as tasty, and for half the price I've got no complaints.) The Dirty Chicken Parmesan Hero is amazing too. A very hefty slab of chicken with a scoop of spaghetti and marinara and some nice fluffy bread that holds up well to the sauce. This is what I believe Italian food should be: cheap and no frills instead of half the portion and double the price like many portland Italian spots. Although I do think it would be worth investing in slightly higher quality menu pics lol. read more

So, a few months into this coronavirus thing and not going to restaurants means ordering a significant amount of to-go orders ( I can and do cook, but I've been rather lazy, with exception to grilling out) and doing my best to support local businesses. I do third party food delivery, which has become more of a full-time job during the current times, but also because of this, I seem to know where pretty much every good food spot is in town and I've eaten at quite a few more that I'd never tried before, plus plenty of new ones to try. East coast Italian food isn't a huge thing here, not to say that if you don't look hard enough you'll find a few places around. There is amazing Italian food in PDX, mostly high end, but amazing. I grew up with pizza parlors also having a full Italian menu as well. Spaghettaboutit IS East coast Italian food. Origins from Long Island, NY via DC. Pasta, calzones, lasagna and subs, what more could you want. Oh yeah, cannoli. A chicken parm sub is what got me over here. Well, that and the fact that Yelp kept directing me over here. And that chicken parm did not disappoint. Crispy chicken, a nice red sauce with just a little sweetness and good spice and a fresh, sturdy roll to keep it all together. This version also had spaghetti in it, called a "dirty" version. It was a trip back to the pizza joints in my hometown. Take a trip up to the Piedmont food carts, it's worth the trip. Support local in PDX, it's so worth finding the next new place. Enjoy. read more

The name of this place caught my eye and spaghetti was sounding good tonight so I gave it a shot. I was definitely impressed. The sauce was really good and the meatballs were delicious! Topped it off with the cannoli for desert and it was the perfect end for a perfect meal. The portions are very generous and the prices didn't break my bank account. Finally got around to trying this place. Very happy withe the lasagna, good size and good quality and at a price that would beat any sit down place. Also tried the spaghetti which was also good but since it appears to be the same sauce used on lasagna I was not surprised. Items are cooked to order by the nice guy who owns the place. Hands down the best meatball spaghetti I've ever had. I've been eating spaghetti since I was about 5, it being my father's favorite food. I never saw the hype, I just ate it. Spoke with the owner about if he was open and drove twenty-five minutes to the business. Struggled to find parking as a person with a physical disability. Then walked to the food cart to be confronted by the same person losing his composure and telling me, "I don't know what you want...there are several orders ahead of you...I've got no idea when I can finish your order". Meanwhile he also spoke out loud while summarizing the list of items he was about to prepare. I said let me ask the wife to escape his stress, returned to the car, used hand sanitizer, removed my N95 mask, and drove to the Olive Garden since Dar Salam had closed. In any case I usually make my own 'real' Italian food since cooking same remains second nature to me as a vegetarian Italian Jew. Guess if I ever create a logo it will be a meatball and matzoball lol. Anyway we made do with a vegetarian American Italian meal from O.G. and have unfortunately crossed off this food cart from our list of places to try. In Portland I have yet to find an Italian or Sicilian mom & pop restaurant/eatery like the ones I greatly enjoyed back east; i.e., the kind of places that cook real homemade to fancy Italian food, maybe a secret family recipe protected by omerta or could prepare a requested dish not on the menu. We wanted Italian food from someplace nearby so I checked out Yelp and found Spaghettaboutit (love the name). BF and I got the Chicken Parm and a Calzone, and split them. Both were good, but I liked the calzone better. We got the sausage calzone and I thought the dough was good and it had a decent amount of filling (also came with sauce). Chicken Parm was okay, but nothing special. Came with spaghetti, a side salad and breadstick. I thought the breadstick was really good, and you can order extra breadsticks for $1 each. We also split a tiramisu and I liked it much more than the BF. He wasn't impressed at all, but that just left more for me. Decided to get a smorgasbord of food from the Piedmont Food Carts and landed on trying Spaghettaboutit after looking at delicious pictures of their calzone, subs, and pasta on their food cart. My partner and I shared a dirty meatball sub and it was delicious. What makes it "dirty" you ask? Pasta noodles inside of the sub! Woah! The meatballs were very well seasoned and moist, and there was a generous amount of melted mozzarella that nicely coated the meatballs and pasta noodles. The side salad was also nice to break up the richness of the dish, and I liked that there was a good ratio of meat to sub with every bite. In line with our night of gluttony, we also ordered a sausage calzone after the guy helping us (I believe owner) told us that they were fresh out of the oven. I loved the softness of the dough and how flavorful the tomato sauce inside the calzone was. There was also a tasteful amount of sausage as for the dish to not be overly heavy. While our food came out quickly, we shared a peach cremosa (italian soda with whipped cream) to pass the time and it was refreshing! It may look like your typical Italian restaurant, but it is anything but that! The menu is very large and I would recommend getting the chicken parmigiana. The restaurant was filling up quickly (it was almost 8 pm) but we managed to snag a table. When our Food arrived, our expectations continued to be exceeded. By the end of the meal we were planning our next visit. I absolutely loved the scenery here and everyone was so friendly. Don't let appearances fool you--the decor may be divey, but the drinks as well as the vast amount of sides on the menu are fantastic. Arrived to pick up my online order at the time indicated on the app and the owner told me that a bunch of orders came in at the same time and that it was going to be an hour before the food was ready. I decided that was too long to wait in the rain so I asked the owner to cancel my order. He responded that he wasn't able to cancel the order and then made a comment that indicated he thought I was a food delivery driver. After telling him I was the customer, suddenly his tone changed and now the order could be ready in a couple of minutes. I left but then thought I should get this employees name and share it with the owner. I returned to the truck and it turns out the person I had the bad experience with was in fact the business owner. He tried to hand me a box of unknown food and said he didn't know what to do earlier because I rolled my eyes at him. The Sphaghettis has some spice and great flavor. It's some good stuff. You will feel full like when you have a family meal cooked by your moms. I thought it was gonna be not enough food but I was totally stuffed and satisfied. I had the spaghetti & meatballs & the wife had cheese spaghetti. We were both very satisfied & the owner is a real nice guy and he definitely cares about what he puts out. This truck has been my go to for Italian food the last couple years I have been living in NoPo. I usually get the chicken parmesan. The breadsticks are absolutely to die for. They're my world wide favorite. Sometimes I'll order just a basket of breadsticks to munch on throughout the day. The food is amazing, but the owner is one that goes above and beyond. My first time here, he came out to make sure my food was good and I've never seen food truckers do that. The owner really cares about my experience here and he's gone very much out of his way to make sure I'm fed well and even has gone as far as have me bring him what I owed because I left my wallet at home once. read more

I had the best experience last night!! This was one of maybe 4 food trucks open in the pod last night, and I've been wanting to visit and I'm so glad I did.
