I can't tell what went so horribly wrong with our order but it showed such blatant disregard for customers and quality. This pizza is not cheap, but it use to be our favorite, we hadn't been in the area for a while so getting this horrible order when we came back is a shock. We ordered early and were the only pick up and customers in sight, no one was busy at all - they were standing talking at the bar. My Alfredo chicken pizza was half burned so the crust tastes bad, the chicken was completely dried out like chewing jerky and the most confusing part - the garlic is raw, crunchy and not roasted at all - like it was thrown on raw after they were burned the rest. The spicy meat had 2 inch ring of crust so there were barely any toppings and they completely forgot the namesake ingredient - the sriracha. For pizza this expensive, I'd expect them to keep portions regular (at least matching throughout an order) and the staff to know how to prepare and check each pizza. read more

So I recently moved here from New York and so of course in looking for a reasonably good pizza place and Pizzario was one that a lot have recommended so I have to say that while I was cautiously optimistic I ended up being disappointed in the end. We went this evening and at 6:30 PM on a Sunday it was a bit of a ghost town and had kind of a creepy old vibe to it. The service was mediocre at best. As far as the food, the Caesar salad was a very generous portion, even though it was $14. However, the dressing tasted like it came out of a bottle with no real inspiration or depth of flavor. As far as the pizza is concerned, I felt that for a 12 inch pie, everything was overpriced by 5 to 7 dollars. For a woodfired crust I expected something with a good consistency and crisp but chewy. What I got was basically what I would expect if I cooked a Di Giorno in my oven. And to top it off, the QR code on the receipt for paying with your phone did not work and the waiter told me 'Yeah sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.' (Then fix it or come up with a new receipt!) So needless to say, I'm not going back and I'm still looking for a good pizza in the Hillsboro area. Sorry. read more

Nothing has really changed: The pizza remains about as good or passable as you're going to get West of Beaverton, the cocktail menu is still the best kept secret in town, and the live music makes it clear that any band that has a night off from the low-rollers' lounge at Spirit Mountain or Ilanai will always have a home... and that any plumber in this town can play Mustang Sally for an evening if they have a Home Depot bucket and no inhibitions. So what's the extra star for? For putting up with what we're going to call "The Downtown Hillsboro Clientele." This isn't everyone who shows up for a meal or a drink in Downtown Hillsboro, mind you, but everyone who makes that experience seem like their personal cross to bear. The Downtown Hillsboro Clientele starts the evening by complaining that they had to park half a block away from the restaurant when, just 10 years ago, they could park directly in front of it. The Downtown Hillsboro Clientele is shocked when it has to wait more than two minutes for a table. The Downtown Hillsboro Clientele is regularly baffled by a restaurant's core menu items. It recoils when seeing Spanish words used in tapas dishes. It asks if the sweet mango wings are spicy. It wonders if your well-reviewed izakaya has teriyaki dishes like the place in the strip mall. It asks for six different beer tasters, but never a flight. It complains that you put a sandwich on a bagel, then complains when that sandwich leaves the menu. It spits out garlic on a Margherita pizza. That last bit of tourist classism I just won't abide. It's one thing when some tronfio northerner looks down on a southern pizza eater for indulging in some garlic... it's another when some borioso 'medigan who took one cruise around the boot decides that makes them the Barefoot Contessa of Forest Grove. Unfortunately for your delicate little white-bread-and-ranch palate, not only will that offending garlic frequently make its way onto Pizza Marinara, but pizziolos who've actually eaten pizza in southern Italy at establishments devoid of tablecloths will tell you that garlic finds its way onto Pizza Margherita either in the sauce, in infused olive oil, or--gasp--in garlic powder. And this is really going to knock you on your ass, but East of the Mississippi? East of the Tualatin? Yeah, folks throw garlic on Margherita pies constantly. And you're going to knock points off because the basil's burnt? On a brick oven pizza? I'm attaching a photo of a margherita pizza upon which the basil is so scorched that it's basically chips. The place that pizza came from? Ken's Artisan: The best pizza in this entire state. That may be the last time you see me compare Pizzario to them, but if you're going to knock the place for what the best pizzamakers in the region regularly do... then I'm sorry, but just start ordering from Papa Murphy's. The Downtown Hillsboro Clientele will not be satisfied until there are a maximum of three restaurants downtown, each of those restaurants serves a menu out of a 1950s luncheonette, all of them close promptly at 8 p.m., and they're surrounded by no fewer than eight antique stores, 10 barber shops with owners over 80, and two mortuaries to shuffle those barbers and luncheonette regulars off this mortal coil. Downtown Hillsboro's biggest obstacle to growth isn't foot traffic, parking, or diversity of offerings--its an obstinate core of old cranks that refuses to learn anything modestly new even if staff holds their hand throughout the entire process. I credit Pizzario for doing the slow, patient work of converting the willing one new pizza, cocktail menu, and local band at a time. We have been to Pizzario twice in the past few weeks, once on the Art walk for a glass of wine, and last night to try the pizza. It was excellent. I asked on the Hillsboro community page on Facebook where is the best place to find wood-fired pizza. Pizzario was mentioned often, and by far the most of any others. We had three pizza's last night, the Margherita, the Maui, and the BBQ Chicken. They were all perfect. My wife had a tasty IPA and our daughter and I split a very reasonably priced Ruffino Chianti. All were excellent. What has stood out these past two visits is the friendliness of the servers and cook. Everyone greets you and that is so important. Ashly was our server last night and she was terrific. Our server the previous time, was new, but so friendly and efficient. We will be back. read more

I came from out of town to visit family. This place showed as open online on Christmas eve. I placed an order for pickup and the payment went through. Only to drive to the location and find out it was closed. So I was charged for nothing. I reached out after the holidays and was told by staff that they would take my info and have the owner reach out to take care of this issue. I haven't heard anything from anyone. As of now I still haven't received any refund or any kind of retribution for them taking my money for services not provided. UPDATE: The owner reached out to me personally and apologized for the inconvenience. He was quick to help rectify the situation. I was refunded my money with no issues. Excellent pizza with fresh ingredients. They make their own dough and cook it in an authentic wood burning pizza oven. Nice place to enjoy a band. Drinks are good. But I've noticed when the skinny Caucasian lady works in the evenings, there's always more drinks on my tab than I ordered. It's happened more than once. I don't know if she thinks I'm drunk or dumb. But I refuse to go in there if I see her. She definitely overcharges. She also picks up glasses by the rim after people's lips have been on them. And you never see her wash her hands. The pizza is great! The bathrooms are clean! I've met some regulars that come in and they all seem very friendly. While the pizza had a nice charred crust and topped with basil, the sauce was quite bitter and some of the slices desperately needed more globs of fresh mozzarella cheese to balance out the flavor. The pizza didn't quite hit the mark, but has lots of potential. The warm cider cocktail with Makers Mark (upon request) hit the spot! We also had the Wedge Salad, Sicilian Salad, Tossed Salad and we had the Peach Cobbler. All are Amazing! If I had to choose just one, I simply can't. Just wow! We recently moved to Hillsboro and first thing we needed was to find a great pizza spot, and boy did we ever! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, as well as very eclectic. The owner is a super nice and cool lady, her staff are all very friendly and accommodating! Now let me get on to the food. We got the artichoke dip appetizer and shared a salad. The portions were good sized and you can tell they really take pride in serving outstanding tasting food. Did I mention they make amazing cocktails? Now for the pizza. I do like the concept of this place. Service however was lacking. At first I thought it was because the house was packed. My first clue should've been when the server said to us , "well we have a packed house tonight so I don't know if you wanna wait or you can just come back a different day" to which I replied, "can we sit outside?" I was a bit disappointed with my pizza. I had the Hawaiian and for $18 on a 12 inch pizza, put some toppings on it please. Crust was decent, but a just at the edge of being burnt. I was in the mood for some pizza when I saw this spot nearby so I dropped by. Parking was a bit of a hassle since it's on a main road which is usually a bit full but there are many places to park. The inside of the place was pretty clean although the booth I sat at had a few crumbs but you can just swipe em off. The overall vibe of the place was pretty and I like the soft lighting they had, and the oven is right in front of all the tables so you can see them cook your food. Servers wee quick to serve and were pretty nice. I ended up going with the cheesy bread for an appetizer and the main dish was the 12" main street pizza. The first one to come out was the cheesy garlic bread and it was honestly a bit underwhelming, with my favorite part being the slight crisp and smoky flavor from the oven. As I was finishing that however, the pizza came out and it smelt and looked great. However, I was a bit disappointed, while it certainly didn't taste bad the flavor profile felt a bit lackluster. I was expecting a crispy pizza it was very flimsy so much so to the point I had to fold the pizza to keep the topping from falling. Let me say that our service has been good and the there is live music every night, but that is where the good review ends. We first started coming here a couple years back and the pizza was on point with a thin crispy crust and just enough topping to avoid sogginess. We've been here twice in the last four months and the pizza has been mediocre at best. The crust is too thick and very flabby. I don't know if they changed recipe or starter or chef, but the quality has severely declined. Pizza. Cocktails. Live music. Hillsboro has its very own place for pizza and jazz and I love it! It reminds of a more laid back version of the 1905 on Mississippi in Portland. Pizzario's pizzas are delicious - they only have one size which might be a medium/small elsewhere but that works for me because it means everyone can pick their own. The chicken pesto pizza is by far my favorite and I find myself sneaking leftover slices as soon as I get home - it's that good. I LOVE the roasted garlic cloves on it. The crust is just the right thickness, crisp from the wood fired oven but with a good chew. They also have a big list of classic cocktails and a decent wine selection. They have pasta specials sometimes but the menu is mostly pizza, salad and drinks. I like that they keep it simple. I've dined in on Tuesdays for the live jazz and the staff, even when busy, are pretty friendly. Pizzario is hands down my favorite pizza place in Hillsboro. read more

If you're looking for a fun place Pizziario has it all: - Yummy wood fired pizza with creative options, but not too many: check. - Full bar with local beers on tap: check. - Cozy laidback setting with creative local decor, even on the ceiling: check. - Very friendly wait staff: check. - Live music with a rotating line-up: check. I've been here a few times for to-go orders. I'm usually given time for when the pizza will be ready and I tend to arrive about 5 minutes prior because it takes soooo long to get service for someone to help you. All of the times I've been here my pizza is sitting on the counter and already cold by the time I walk across the street. The pizzas are overpriced for the minimal toppings. They have very loud live music most nights that occasionally go well past the quiet hours. If you want atmosphere and social aspect, go here. If you want good pizza, go somewhere else. read more

Best pizza in town , wood fire & live music everyone who works here is always so kind. They go out of their way to ask how you are and how your day is going which is rare nowadays because most places get straight to the business. The artichoke dip and garlic bread was DELICIOUS!! You can really tell how much effort they put into the food here. The Maui, bbq chicken, hot papa and hot mama are my personal favorites, must tries !!! I was informed that the owners make their own homemade pizza dough which is unlike any pizza dough I've tried seriously great job!! I have been enjoying Pizzario for years ever since they opened. I hadn't been there for awhile and called an order to pick up. I spent $48 on two medium sized pizzas and a kale salad. The pizzas were okay, not fantastic like they used to be. The crust didn't taste as good as normal. I used to dream about their wonderful charred crust. They have always been a bit small, but so tasty and fresh! The kale salad for $10 was literally a cup of greens whereas it used to be big enough for two people to share.
