This serves as a follow up to my review dated on May 22, 2025 entitled "Nice is not "nice"…read moreanymore". I received a letter I received a follow up letter from Commonwealth of Virginia department of professional and occupational regulation. The letter states that no longer has a viable license at present and as a result, they can no longer proceed with my complaint. That is unfortunate. It is important to note that Nice Heating And Air was recently acquired by Michael Bonsby HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical located in Gaithersburg Maryland. During the acquisition process, I have been immediately deluged with repeated calls following up on providing future maintenance services, not acknowledging or responding to my complaint regarding service delivery. I was informed by three neighbors and friends who had cozy maintenance plans with Nice that they no longer provided various paid services for them, and thus their maintenance plans were ended. The referrals mentioned they took it in stride, by the lack of communication, no longer enroll in the new corporate maintenance programs of any HVAC company. Lesson learned.

We knew something could be wrong when their initial quote was over 11k and it magically came down 3k when we said we could do 8. But they charged an additional $1,200 for extras of wall repair and a UV filter. We got other bids around $8k that didn't include the extras so we signed with our preferred vendor, nice. They and all other companies started we needed to use a certain intake company's model, but the day before installation, nice told us it wasn't available and asked for our approval of the "only" other model that fit. Of course we said yes. A week later and we were dealing with a very loud system that didn't keep up with our next door neighbor's system. For a whole $2k less, she had received the replacement model for the one we had both been quoted only days apart from every local vendor. nice went a whole two weeks ignoring us after sending a technician who ruined the wall with terrible quality and left an actual 2" wide, 20" long hole in our living room. He explained he didn't think it was possible to match the paint so he just used white over our yellow. The other technician identified that the required electrical work hadn't been done. He was skeptical that the company wasn't able to source the necessary intake and stated point blank we should not have what was installed by nice. When I finally got in touch with an executive (of marketing, not operation), she told me it was a mystery to her why her company couldn't source what our neighbor received and which he technicians could not make perform. But she pushed back on the performance issues, explaining that by regulation, an AC does not have to maintain 71 or 72 if it's hotter outside. She continued maintaining this as the months have gone by. Today it was 98 outdoors and 78 indoors. In the meantime, more technicians have come from nice. One inspected our neighbor's as if they didn't believe she had a model that performed better than ours. He told us he would advise his own mother to "upgrade again" to that model since ours is both too loud and not performing as expected. But, he told us, the model we have is a good enough replacement so we would have to pay for this additional work. Who accompanied him? Someone from marketing. On another occasion, a technician agreed that our new system should at least perform better than our old one; our old one was actually physically broken at around 20 years old. But this new "upgrade" performs just as well in the heat. We received a letter from Dominion in May informing us that we use more energy than 66% of our neighbors. Nice maintains this is "energy savings" - you run the system more often so a higher price is to be expected. None of this was told to us prior to installation and of course our neighbor with an identical home as ours has none of these issues. We are at a standstill with nice so we're legally advised to take the next step of leaving reviews online, with the BBB, and the AG. I'm embarrassed it has come to this and frustrated by all the extra time and discomfort this has caused. Oh and yesterday nice told me to send them quotes from our own handyman for the drywall work. Did I mention the humidity?

We purchased Kohler rain shower plus hand-held and tub mechanism with all necessary valves from Fergussons. We kept our reclining Kohler tub with side st.steele handles. We needed to tear out and replace all prior tiles due to leak, and wet uninsulated walls around tub. Mr. Buendia and his team planned out the job, gave us a reasonable estimate, told us from when to when the job was going to be done, emailed us job proposal, we agreed and signed contract, and the the job started. They covered floors and stairs to prevent any damage, while we made sure they had access to an empty bathroom. In the middle of job we discovered that we needed to reinstall 'all walls, which we did not know when we started. Mr. Buendia and I went to the Tile store on Eisenhower Ave., and we chose together a tile that would fit and look great, and align with remaining ceramic floor. The team worked in coordinated way, and the end result is truly terrific! We are very satisfied and very much recommend Mr. Buendia's team to others. Prior to this job we had also hired Mr. Buendia for other jobs, redoing siding and trim on a townhouse, replacing basement foor with tile, replacing ceiling tiles with a true ceiling, painting, installing storm doors. Each time, we always received work proposal, reasonable cost estimate, and the work has always been excellent. RB Contractors, or Mr. Buendia and his team have always delivered an excellent, professional job. We absolutely recommend them!

He installed and industrial sized AC and heating unit on my roof inappropriately and now I have roofing damage which I'm asking him to come make the correction and he will not respond. If you are looking for installation on your roof, stay away from this company because they do not keep their promise. In the videos, you can see that they dropped it directly on my roof and now it's starting to leak. I would never hire this company again and you should be careful. I see that he is reading my text messages but not responding so that means he doesn't want to come and finish what he messed up. Disappointing.

It was definitely a stressful situation, but Lee was very helpful and responsive to my questions and requests. Although Lee did not perform the job himself, Ivan and his team came out to repair the drywall and replace the carpet. Ivan was really great - he was courteous and efficient throughout the whole project, which took about 1.5 days to complete. Some highlights were: 1) The crew was able to start working almost immediately after I called Master's Construction. 2) Ivan worked very hard to find the closest match to my existing carpet. It sounded like he was checking out quite a few places until he found someone all the way in Richmond that had our carpet! (FYI, I live in Falls Church.) 3) Ivan ended up re-painting all the walls of my bedroom to ensure that the paint color was consistent throughout. Then I talked to them about installing a patio door. We had a hand shake deal on the installation which was a mistake - I trusted them I should have had it in writing. I bought the door per the contractors specs and had them review before I purchased ... original cost for installation $350 which seemed reasonable. The Lowes contractor estimate was $450. I gave him $600( greater 70% over agreed upon price)I thought that was more than fair when he said it was more work than expected because the door I bought was too small - well I bought the door per their specs ... reviewed work that was done and it was not complete. The actual installation of the door was fine ... but the finish work molding, painting and exterior finish of the door was sloppy or incomplete, also taking away the old door and trash was not done. Contractor wanted more money to fix, said he underestimated the cost ???. I was extremely upset. I already gave them 70% more than agreed upon cost. Told them I was done - I didn't want to give them anymore money and hired another contractor to complete the work - kinda of sad. To me it seems like SNL wants you to assume all the risks. I never would have had the door installed by them if I had known it was going to be this expensive and cause this many issues.

I called him on a Monday and spoke to him about possible resolutions to my plumbing issue. We decided that Thursday morning between 9-9:30am would be the perfect time for him to stop by and inspect my issue. I remember that I specifically asked him if I needed to call him back to confirm my appointment with him later that day. He said, "no, I have you on my calendar, but if their is a problem, I will call you back." I thanked him and told him I'll see him Thursday. Well, Thursday rolls around and I didn't hear from, nor did I see Mr. Jackson. Extremely unprofessional! I worked from home that day, so thank God I didn't have to take off, but it was still an inconvenience. Why on earth is it so hard to find honest, competent and reliable plumbers? This is a give and take situation. I pay for a service, you fix the problem...plain and simple. I wasn't asking to fix the problem for free, I was a paying customer! Moreover, if he wasn't available, a simple call to reschedule would've been the proper thing to do. Two weeks to the day and I still haven't heard back from this company. Horrible customer service! Take it from me and don't even bother contacting this company. My sister suggested that I call him back, but I refused because it's plenty of plumbers in the area that are willing and able to assist me.
