And the lady at the desk said no, your doctor scheduled it. You'll get a confirmation in your email. Never got any correspondence so I assumed no news is good news and forgot about it. Then I get the most unprofessional, goofy ahh text threatening me with a $250 no show fee. I was still able to take my telehealth call even though nobody told me about it, which makes this even crazier. I still had my appointment. There are so many clinics and better offices to be taken care of in LA. Just steer clear of this sh*t show.

Eventually, I discovered they hadn't even ordered the correct tests. By the time this was caught, I had to start the process all over again. I also requested a breast exam. They initially sent me for the wrong imaging because they didn't bother reviewing my file. When I finally got the correct test, a lump was found and a biopsy was done. I was told the office would call with the results. That call never came. I had to follow up myself--months later--only to be told, "Looks like no one ever called you. Sorry." This kind of care is unacceptable. It's clear no one at this office is paying attention, and patient health is not a priority. I'll be switching doctors immediately.

I notified insurance I'm not taking patients, now bare in mind we've had the anthem blue cross for months and were assigned to this office. then she says "Hold on" she leaves comes back again contemplating whether or not to take new patients. BackStory I've had health insurance for over 25 years with The Screen Actors Guild and after losing it due to lack of work and the industry changes I bought affordable health insurance through Blue Anthem. This lady pretty much looked down on us as new patients and the type of patient she'd prefers in her office. I'm imagining it because the insurance is not highend. My son saw that she offers botox from an ad and according to some other reviews she's in the business of vanity, cool now that says a lot about her as a character if this was a movie script. I've been studying people for over 25 years as an actor on many tv shows and movies. Her energy was definitely one of dislike. I understand people to say the least, also an as an acting teacher for 10 years. I teach behavior. She says she could take my son but not me and as politely as I could I rejected the offer and told her no worries, we'll find service else where. I'm always gladly to avoid where I don't feel wanted. My son even said he felt her energy as well, he's a third year film study student in the dorms at a Southern California University now on vacation. Now I'm never quick to make things about race, but guess what, I'm African American and Spanish...I'll leave that up to you to entertain as a cause for her energy towards us.

My mother had a scheduled retina surgery at this surgical center, with a 6:00 AM operative start time and a 5:00 AM check-in. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Linda, who immediately appeared disengaged and uninterested. While checking us in, she requested an ID and insurance card, which is standard protocol. I explained that we had an electronic copy of the insurance card. She responded, in a noticeably dismissive tone, that they require a physical copy and could not accept an electronic version. As someone who works in the medical field, I am fully aware that electronic insurance cards are widely accepted. I politely offered to email or fax the information, but she stated that it "wouldn't matter" because their emails can take up to 30 minutes to come through. Shortly after, she located a copy of the insurance card within the paperwork already sent over by my mother's doctor's office the week prior. This lack of preparation was concerning, as these documents should have been reviewed well before the day of surgery. The remainder of the check-in paperwork was not clearly explained, and the overall delivery made us feel uncomfortable and, frankly, singled out. After our interaction, we observed her demeanor with other patients checking in. The tone and level of service she provided to them was noticeably warmer and more accommodating. Most of those patients appeared to be Caucasian and self-pay, while my mother is of Filipino descent with darker skin. The contrast in treatment was difficult to ignore. For a surgical center, where patients are often anxious and vulnerable, the front desk staff sets the tone for the entire experience. Compassion, professionalism, and preparedness are essential in that role. Unfortunately, our initial interaction fell far below that standard. That said, I want to emphasize that the remainder of our experience was excellent. The clinical staff, both pre- and post-operative, were attentive, professional, and kind. The anesthesiologist ensured my mother felt safe and well cared for. From a medical standpoint, she was in very capable hands. I sincerely hope this facility takes patient experience seriously and reevaluates the expectations and training of its administrative staff. What we encountered at check-in was unacceptable and does not reflect the quality of care provided by the clinical team.

I have been getting periodic epidural injections for my chronic back pain I think since late 2023 or early 2024. The check-in process has always been smooth, processes efficient, and the care shown by the RN's has been genuine. I've always had the chat with the anesthesiologist prior to the procedure (not general but rather conscious sedation). This center should be training other medical centers on how to be efficient , getting patients prepped fast, in and out in timely manner. On top of that, I've had the added bonus of nurses and other staff with excellent senses of humor. The parking setup is not ideal as they only validate for 30 minutes. I'd give them a 5 star if they picked up their phones when we call; several times my wife has had to call to ensure I'm ready for pickup and no one has picked up. This is very important when we want to pickup someone within the validation period. Having said that, I sure hope that I never have the experience of the 1-star patients, because I've come to expect only 5-star service here!

In addition, it houses nationally ranked specialties including the "Barbara Streissand Womens' Heart Center," & the newly relocated "Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Center." Although it's never fun to be a patient needing care, thus far, I have found that the facility is very clean, & the medical & support staff professionals have been friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, & thorough. The first hour is complimentary, then $5/hour, with a maximum $15/day. Valet parking is also available at the same rate, & gratuities are not accepted. I had lost 20+ lbs with no issues years before and kept it off, so I understand how this works. Dr. Chetver appeared annoyed with me and said, "This is why you came in? Why don't you try Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers?" JENNY. CRAIG. What is this?? 1995?? I responded with something like "f this" and walked out. She tried to salvage it by saying they could do labs, but at that point, girl please. She's awful and should not be in medicine at all. Unfortunately she is only there on the weekends & does not have a private practice...She's one of a kind... Dr. Gopslkrishna is Terrific...Kidney Dr. was great .. I apologize .. Don't remember his name...Doctors get 5-STARS... All the doctors were great...Care quality was good... Might I add... I had all type of Tests .. 2 or more EKGs .. X-Ray .. Stress Tests .. Lung Tests ..Blood was drawn 4 times each of the 6 days I was hospitalized .. Even the morning of the day of discharge... ALL of the TECHNICIANS were Professional & patient accommodating... No problems @ all... Kudos to each of them... But here is where the ball drops: While some of the nurses were exceptional .. Some of them were nightmares... On Wednesday .. Early evening ... I had a heart surgical procedure... Because I was having the heart procedure .. The doctors ordered NPO after breakfast...(Nothing to eat by mouth...) Before going up to surgery .. I specifically ask Nurse Suraya .. please make sure no-one takes my dinner tray .. To no avail .. When I return .. She had given my dinner tray to someone else... I strongly felt she did that out of spite .. Just being mean & hateful...Even though she was Mexican .. I strongly felt her racist attitude toward my blackness... This nurse was choosing to act as if she was a doctor .. Not a nurse .. Just completely stepping out of her lane... For instance: Just before being taken up to surgery .. She started panting and telling me .. "I'm worried." I replied .. Worried about what??She said: "Your blood pressure." I said Nurse: Don't you think: My Cardiologists are TRAINED .. KNOWLEDGEABLE .. & have the EXPERTISE to know when my blood pressure is not in the range to do surgery... She's passing all the negativity on to me .. Her patient .. After-all .. I am the one getting ready to under .. Not her.. She was a nightmare... She also became resentful towards me .. Because I excused her out of my room .. When Dr. Rabie came to discuss my health issues & plans of treatment... I didn't feel comfortable with her being in the room & it was my choice & right to excuse her from the room...And have privacy... After-all .. No other nurse came into my room during doctors visits... On another note: Nurse Courtney Mazzarti & Nurse Valerie Mercado were GREAT...They were amazing... Last but not least: On the morning of my discharge .. I had to wash-up .. Get all of my personal belongings together .. To make sure .. I didn't leave any of my belongings behind... The nurses would not take the security buzzer off .. So I could wash-up & get prepared for my discharge from the hospital... Keep in mind: I'm not impaired in any manner .. Meaning not handicapped .. No walker .. No wheelchair .. No crutches or anything of the sort...All IV'S have been dislodged... They are standing in the room watching me as if I am a prisoner @ San Quentin... I felt abused & violated... Then the nurse called the Security Supervisor of Discharge .. Who was a Jamaican lady with long disgusting braids .. Mind you .. there was no shouting or fighting or anything .. I just simply told them .. "Turn the buzzer off .. So I can do what I have to do.." I then overheard the Jamaican lady asking the nurse .. "Do you want me to call security?" I replied .. "security is not needed .. There's no shouting or fighting or disruption..." "Are you doing this because I am black???Don't be shady .. I know & you know why you are reacting in this manner... Let's keep it real..." Long story short: I've been hospitalized @ Cedars Sinai quite a few times .. As recent as November '2025 & have never experienced anything like this... Moreover dealing with heart issues & blood clots .. This was unnecessary stress .. We visited Miracle Mile Outpatient Surgery Center for our four year old son's procedure, which was…read morescheduled and directed through The Breathe Institute and Dr. Zaghi. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Shahbaz Farnad, had our son interact with an anesthesia mask that had flavored chapstick applied to the inside. When I asked if that would be the same mask used during the procedure, I was told it would be. This was something that raised concerns for us from a sterility and infection control standpoint. It did not feel in line with the expected surgical standards of care. Before anesthesia, several staff members asked our son what movie he wanted to watch while going under, and he excitedly chose Cars. We later learned too late that the TV was not working, and no alternatives were provided to help ease his nerves. When it came time to start the procedure, things escalated quickly and unexpectedly. The mask was pressed forcefully onto our son's face without clear explanation, and he was physically pulled from my arms while crying, scared, and repeatedly saying "don't hold me down." When I expressed concern afterward, I was told that what I had witnessed was normal, but it was deeply upsetting to witness and felt poorly managed. After surgery, I was brought to a room where a nurse was holding our son, still unconscious. I was asked to take him immediately while he was then passed into my arms while the procedure was reviewed verbally. We were then rushed to leave the facility so he could wake up in his car seat. No option was given for him to wake under pediatric medical supervision, and we felt this was neither safe nor appropriate. As we left, he woke suddenly, crying and repeating "don't hold me down," visibly traumatized. No pain medication was provided, and we were stuck in traffic with a distressed, inconsolable child. This experience added unnecessary trauma to an already challenging recovery. When I later expressed my concerns to Dr. Zaghi, I was told our son would forget. Sadly, that has not been the case. He continues to have strong emotional reactions tied to the experience, including fear around anesthesia and his car seat. I do not believe our son's physical or emotional wellbeing was handled with the appropriate level of care. I would strongly recommend that other parents ask thorough questions, advocate for their child's comfort and safety, and be clear on what to expect before choosing this facility.
