Ohhhh man this place is GRAND ! The staff are great , the food is great and the people that go there are like family . If you order a burger just remember there is 1/2 pounder that I LOVE ! but there is a regular size too - GO BIG OR GO HOME , LOL ! . They have a great patio , dog friendly as long as your dog is friendly all is good . There are daily specials and even really awesome fried chicken . Bathrooms are clean , pool table , darts plenty of tv's and good company . We love this place and our staff . Just remember it can get busy and the staff works hard and as fast as they can be respectful , if something is wrong just don't yell . The owner , the staff and the people that go there are like family and we all lookout for each other so trouble makers will not be welcome . It's safe clean and fun ! The worst! My husband and I stopped on the recommendation of his brother but from the very beginning we were disappointed! The bartender was slow to warm up to us but she got there in the end and actually did make a decent Bloody Mary. The waitress was a different story!! She was down right surly! My chili was served lukewarm, but heat wouldn't have helped it much as it was awful! My husband told me that he thought the waitress was the owner and all I could think was " how in the world do you stay in business" Don't waist your time or money!! read more

There are times when you just have to write a review. Went to this establishment today and for the second time in a row was a bad experience. Poor service, incorrect orders, cold food. Talked to waiter about the issues .He acknowledged the complaint but didn't have anything to explain. No comments. If you can't get orders for wings and sliders correct it is time to frequent other places. read more

Went here the day after Christmas worst idea ever. I personally watched my server give everybody else so much better service it was ridiculous. It started with the waitress looking peeved that we wanted a table. She pointed us toward the tables at the rear or the bar area, which were super loud because a game was on. She took quite a bit of time to take our order and then it was about an hour to receive the appetizers, which were fried and would've taken just a few minutes to make. The entrees also took a long time, and when they came were disappointing. We had requested no bacon or tomato on a grilled cheese (which came out with bacon and tomato), and the half rack of ribs was dry and tough. It was clear that the barbecue sauce had been slathered in post-cooking. If you are looking for food in the area I'd try somewhere else. read more

Where do I start with this one... This is close to the office park over by work so I have had my fair share of lunches here. The restaurant is off of County Line so it's a bit tucked away. When walking in I feel like it is more of a bar that serves food too - not the impression that I want but it is quick. They have an extensive menu of greasy spoon items and simple salads that come out that could feed 2 or 3 people so you will definitely have left overs. Overall, the staff is friendly but the atmosphere makes it seem like you are eating in a bar with mostly bar height tables and not anything to write home about. If you need a quick eat and you are in the area, feel free to stop by yet it isn't anything that I would go out of the way for. read more

First time at Spanky's as we stopped in for a Friday night fish fry. Ordered Cod with potato pancakes. Excellent. Substantial sized rail drink too. Prices were very reasonable with two dinners and drinks at $35. We'll be back as this was our first time there. Great spot for happy hour! Theirs goes until 7pm which is nice and they had great deals too. $2 taps of beer, $2 domestic bottles, and $2 rail drinks! Apparently Thursday is $0.50 wing night too! I have no intention of every going back to this bar. Tried to go there with 2 friends to watch the Packer play off game, drink and order food, arrived over an hour before the game started. Many bar stools and tables open but was turned away because the place was reversed for regular customers. I asked if this was a private party, waitress said no. Are you telling me, you could not accommodate a paying customer. We were turned away with absolutely no effort to seat us. Bad business practice no matter how you look at it. Regulars eventually leave, new customers will return if service is good. Waitress was rude about the whole issue. read more

Good food, fair service. Went in for Friday night fish fry. Greeted by an older gentleman, who I suspect on less busy nights may have a few good stories to tell. He let us know the specials were MahiMahi and Blue Gill. Waitress was very busy, fast, and just too the point. No friendly chit chat. But she was flying from table to table while we were there. Friend and I both ordered the perch, cod, shrimp combo. (2 pieces cod, 3 perch, 4 shrimp) I had the homemade chips, she had the potato pancakes. I didn't try the coleslaw, but she said it was good though way over dressed. The fish-the perch had little bones which she said can be expected though I've never experienced that before. The cod and the shrimp were both very good! I liked the chips, she didn't say anything about the potato pancake. The meal and three beverages came to $42, which wasn't bad since between our two plates we wrapped up a full to-go container for a third meal for her. The atmosphere was nothing notable-other than smoky from the fish fry. Was comfortable setting. Really what you expect when you pull up. Disappointment came as we walked out the door and saw the 'night specials' sign which we didn't see as we walked in (poor placement). Three soup specials were included that neither the host or waitress mentioned. Since it was our first time there, we had no way of knowing. With that said, we will check out the sign when we return, as we surely will the next time we are up for fish fry. read more

This is a typical Wisconsin pub 'n' grub. The food was okay for bar food and the beer was cold. I've been away from the Cheddarland for a while so it was nice. It appears to be much more of a bar than restaurant so the food is limited to the standard fare, but they did it well. read more

What can you say about a former brothel that is just within on village limits of the Brown Deer, WI Border? The bartender had mentioned that there are strange sounds that emanate from the storage areas late at night, perhaps having come from some sort of spiritual presence. This being said Spanky's is a comfortable spot for locals to hang out and grab some beers and shots. I have been here a few time and the atmosphere is lively and the drinks are cold. While the Friday Fish fry is above average, I have been somewhat disappointed in the slow service under which the food was delivered to the table. This has been my experience twice, as I wanted to see if this was normal or just an anomaly from my initial visit. This is a place to go when you want to try something different but probably not the ideal place to be if you are not from the area. read more

Typically great place to go for Packer games, however Sunday 1/2 the seats at the bar were reserved (tied off) and a good portion of those people spent 1/2 their time outside smoking. Nachos were good, nice deal on buckets during the game, spent $50.00 between food, tips and drinks only to be rudely challenged by the server when they came around with free jello shots after the 3rd touch down. We were looking for a fish fry and decided to try Spanky's Unlike, the previous reviewer, our experience was very different. One of us had the Walleye and the other had Perch,Cod and Shrimp combo. Both of us had potato pancakes. Our fish was nicely done, tasted fresh and was of decent size. No fishy taste at all. Potato pancakes were well done and the coleslaw was tasty. Awesome food and really great service compared to the other restaurants in the area! We go here for lunch pretty often, and are in and out within 40 minutes. The menu is pretty big- and they always have different specials depending on the day you visit. I have tried something new every time I've visited and have never been disappointed. Every time I go the food is fantastic, however, it takes forever for the waitress to come and take your order. She will walk past you multiple times and not even make eye contact and when she does finally take your order she's really rude. So I give the food 5 stars, and I give the service "-5" stars. We would go more often if the service wasn't so bad. The bartenders are always very nice and the cook obviously knows what he's doing because the food is really good.
