I gave him an $8000 deposit which he asked for 10,000. He came back with the piece we needed and he wanted me to give him the balance that I owed him before he walked into the store to finish the job. I paid over $1000 dollars to have 2 valves and an expansion tank replaced on a system that they installed a fee years ago. My oil burner system did not even need to be drained to replace the valves. Also on several occasions the owner has openly lied to me about returning to put finishing touche on work (they never show & I stop calling) and minor things like why a filter wasn't replaced. In all the work gets 4 stars the owner/manager gets 1 stars (at least he answers the questions, albeit not truthfully. In all a generous 2 stars as a whole.

Some installations required repeated adjustments, certain problems were not properly diagnosed the first time, and there were ongoing airflow issues that were never fully resolved. This led to rework and ongoing troubleshooting that a homeowner should not expect from a professional contractor. More concerning was how accountability and professionalism were handled afterward. Items and tools belonging to me that were borrowed during the work were not returned when requested, and communication around resolving this was dismissive rather than professional. This is something consumers should be mindful of when allowing access to their home and property. Based on the quality control, the need for repeated corrections, and how disputes and borrowed property were handled, I can no longer recommend this contractor. I'm sharing this so future customers can make an informed decision and set very clear expectations up front.

An electrician then came out but couldn't figure out how to connect things. Frank painstakingly tested all of the wires in varying combinations and while connecting and disconnecting thermostat and condenser wires to figure out the mess of wires. Eventually, he got it working. He's also an extremely nice guy, who charged something very reasonable given the amount of time he spent working everything out. We will definitely be calling Frank next time we need HVAC help.

Also other companies offer remote monitoring devices that they can monitor as well as an app you can follow as well. Mitchell pricing is not the best as well. Look elsewhere for service.
