Spare time is our favorite bowling ally to go to. It's always fun and clean. The staff are great and friendly as soon as we walk through the doors. The food is decent too. We didn't eat here this time but we have in the past and it's typical bowling alley food. I haven't had anything that I absolutely hated. The bar drinks are always good, the pizza and the pretzels. This location has arcades and laser tag. All fun! They have new deals posted for example Thursdays are 10.99 a person from 9pm to 11pm. The music is also great here! Had a fun time visiting spare time with friends to celebrate a birthday. It's been a few years since I visited this spot for bowling, but on this trip we got drinks and apps, played some music bingo and then a round of laser tag. Bar staff were ok, but not overly friendly. Maybe they were having a bad day, not sure, but not a great first impression. Music bingo was fun though they had to play A LOT of songs before anyone hit bingos, the rounds too far too long and seemed to have a lot of filler songs added that no one hd on their cards...perhaps a ploy to keep you there longer and buying food and drinks(?) The arcade has a good variety of games for all ages, and the bowling alleys are clean, and looking pretty up to date. Laser rage was a blast. It was actually my first time playing and I was shocked by how large the battlefield was. The games are $9 to play a round and each round is 15 minutes. It was definitely a fun time and gets your adrenaline running! Overall it was a good time. Again bar staff may need a pep talk, but the overall experience was a good time, and. I wish this business the best. As a previous small business owner I understand how difficult it is to manage cost and operation. We called this place at 4pm to make sure the had time and room before we made the drive...we were told there was a party at 550. We were told that we could have an hour of bowling before that party if we got there with enough time. We arrived at 430, when trying to purchase an hour of bowling we were turned away. We decided to let the kids do an escape soon since we couldn't now....It is now 5:30 and the bowling lanes are EMPTY!!! I took my husband for part of a Christmas present: when we got in there was an hour wait for bowling (Saturday night before NYE, expected nothing less!) we put our names down and did a nice walk through of the space, checking out games to play later and signing up for laser tag. Visited here at 9pm on a Sunday evening to bowl with a friend. I arrived first, per usual, lol. Destiny checked me in. It was $26.66 for 2 people bowling. My friend arrived about 10 minutes after me. We went and got shoes for them before proceeding to bowl. Around 9:28pm, I went to the bar area to order drinks. Tiffany saw me and said she would be the server. I ordered rum punch and purple rain. Tiffany brought over the drinks at 9:32pm. I ordered the sampler with sweet Thai wings and a blue party punch around 9:50pm. I received blue party lunch around 9:57pm and the food arrived at 10:03pm. Our school staff celebrated the starting of a new school year at this location today. The staff were very friendly and lanes were clean. We spent 3 hours there bowling and afterwards we were served chips with queso, chicken fingers, fruit, and sliders. I attended a holiday party for the Project Management Institute -NC Triad Chapter hosted in the VIP section. It was really nice and we plan on coming back. Where to start? If you grew up in Greensboro this bowling alley has gone through some major changes since the bowling alley we all knew from the 90s through the early 00s. The appearance is very modern. If you want to venture to this location on the weekend, make a reservation and plan ahead. We walked in and were shocked by the crowd. We took 6 children and it can be pretty pricey if you factor in the bowling alley and the game room. This place gets insanely busy on the weekends from what I can tell. So much so I almost had anxiety navigating through the areas. The building is not that large and they have birthday parties sandwiched in with regular patrons. There is limited seating in the game room area while you wait for a lane. They have menus on the tables, but no waitresses in the gaming area to take your order. There are a couple of spots that are reserved areas, which further limits the waiting space. I saw a VIP and bar area. The game room is slightly expensive. Games average between $1.50-$5.00. You must purchase a game card and add funds to it to play. Laser tag is another option and another charge. You can redeem your points from the games you've played to win prizes in the prize room. They didn't clean our lane before we took over. Pizza droppings on the chairs and receipts laying everywhere. There is no one to walk you through the process of setting up...it's not hard...I recommend getting your kid or teen to do it lol the graphics on the screen are super cute. They have large tvs at the end of the lanes showing the sport games and such. Forget getting service when calling the service button. I cancelled it twice for having balls in the gutters. We sent someone from our party to order food (just fries and water) around the second frame, because there was no way to order from a waitress or food ordering module before we started our game. The food never came while we played. We had to go get them at frame 9. While we went hunting for the fries, the game shut down on us during frame 9 and said for us to go back to the front desk to continue to play...I'm assuming to pay again. I get it...we paid for an hour. Yep, no thank you...there was a long line again. We had been waiting for quite some time beforehand so we just decided it was time to leave. The restaurant/bar has good food and drinks options and is perfect when you are waiting for your lane to be available. The chicken sandwich was terrible and dry and even the chicken tenders were burnt and tasted like dry paper. When we got the bill, we were shocked to learn that each soft drink was 3.25!! My husband and I came here to celebrate my birthday. We had a great time because we left TGI Fridays and took and uber. This allowed us to drink as much as we wanted! The bowling alley was clean, festive and laid back. The bathroom was clean. We enjoyed great music, games and the atmosphere. We won game cards for the arcade from Friday's and had $20 to play with. The food was pretty good, your average bar food! My favorite part was the music playing accompanied by the video. Was able to hang out in the VIP area where they have separate lanes, multiple tables, a pool table, mini TVs, a separate bar and servers. It's probably been 20 years since I've been here and this place is definitely not the same. They have renovated it, updated the arcade, and are building a restaurant smack dab in the middle of the lanes. It's actually pretty cool. The good? The waiter was on top of things. The game was fun. And there's no longer the haze of thick cigarette smoke to play in. The bad? Our lane got frozen. We had to ask 3 people to fix it because they kept saying they would, and then no one would ever come. Fifteen minutes later I had to go to the front desk and complain. We were playing by the hour and that was quite a chunk of our hour. The lady at the desk said we would be able to get in 4-5 games within the hour (there were 4 of us) but that was impossible. We didn't even make it through 2 games in an hour, and we were rolling back to back. I also hated that when you play by the hour, you don't get to finish your game. It was quite frustrating to have to wait for someone to come fix our lane, and then make it to the 9th round and our game shut off. I would have thought that after a certain point, the game would let you finish. They're definitely going in the right direction by improving the experience. SpareTime just needs to realize when you improve the experience, you actually have to improve the customer service along with it. read more
