"Get Lucky" - Daft Punk with Nile Rodgers…read more We spent the weekend at Embassy Suites in NW Arkansas, not for a Razorback game, but to see my musical hero/icon/legend Nile Rodgers and CHIC, along with Billy Idol. Nile Rodgers has been on my bucket list, so it did not matter that we had to travel from Hawaii all the way to Arkansas via Dallas, (a 5.5 hr drive each way) then fly back the next day after the concert. I chose this place because the hotel is right across the street from the Walmart Ampitheater (Walmart AMP) and walking distance. Keep reading toward the end for a BIG SURPRISE. SERVICE: Mariah was at the front desk checking us in, and she was from Hawaii! Very nice girl. We got texts daily asking how they were doing. Housekeeping came by really late, like after 3:30 PM after we got back to our room from sight-seeing so we turned down the service as we still had nice fluffy towels. THE ROOM: The 2-room corner suite was really nice and spacious and clean. It came with a bar, microwave, fridge, full sized mirror, two queen beds, a chaise lounge, TVs in both rooms - and a cracked window in the anteroom which was taped with green masking tape. The bedroom faced the interstate, which was noisy through the walls. I could hear the cars/trucks speeding by, but I was tired so it was more like white noise. The A/C was loud, but at least it worked. Didn't really hear any neighboring room noises. BED: a bit soft, but clean and comfy. Pillows didn't smell like BO, like most places I've been. PERKS: free hot breakfast every morning, different fruits. Fresh Omelet station. Lots of choices. Coffee was strong and good. Very good. Lots of seating, even in the bar area in the morning. One of the best free morning breakfasts in any hotel I've ever been in. PARKING: $10 a day extra for hotel guests. Lots of open spaces. Embassy managed to keep the concert parkers out on the day of the concert. BIG SURPRISE: I got to meet Nile Rodgers!!! He was trying to get breakfast when I interrupted him. His plate was still empty but he graciously agreed to take a photo with me. I also went back after 30 minutes and we casually waved at him and he called us over to his group. He threw his arm over my shoulder and gave me a hug, he held my hand in another photo. He was one of the nicest celebrities I've ever met - very humble and genuinely friendly. I was over the top dying inside!!! The man I came to see was staying at the Embassy Suites! It's no surprise that musical celebrities may be staying here, especially if they are playing at the Walmart AMP, as it's right across the street and convenient. So if you want to see your favorite musician at the AMP, book a room at the Embassy Suites and you may get lucky!! Return factor: YES. In the future. Maybe. There was no hand soap towels or washcloths in the kitchen for clean up. We were also greeted with a full can of trash under the sink from the previous guests. In the bathroom there is a very concerning "repair" of a fire sprinkler. There is something stuffed all the way around the sprinkler and I'm pretty sure it won't work if needed. The air conditioner is monster loins and there is a loud clanging noise when it turns off like a metal piece is loose. Luckily it's right by your head so you won't miss it. After having an outing with my family for the day and returning to the room, it was noted there was no maid service. So when asking housekeeping in the hallway for new towels, they said, "We don't do that. You have go downstairs." SWS come on! You can do better than this.

We asked for another room and were given a different room on the other side of the building, up stairs, no elevator. The place appeared run down and I felt uneasy being out after dark. The ice machines both broken. The floor stained. I asked for a refund to leave and go elsewhere but was told there is a 48hr cancellation policy. I would not stay here again.

My two night stay here was fantastic. As I was entering the lobby I immediately had the sense that this was an extremely clean and well-maintained property. I was never disappointed in that fact as I walked around to see the amenities. The workout room was clean and had a reasonable amount of equipment in it. The breakfast buffet was so much better than others I've been to. The staff kept the buffet fully stocked and clean. It was really awesome. You also have access to outside seating if you're visiting when the weather permits. The room I had was immaculate. Nicely appointed and I thought the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The linens were not threadbare as in other budget hotels. My only quibble with the room was that the TV was quite small. Next to the lobby there is a on-site laundry room with full-size washers and dryers. The Bentonville area has much to see and experience. Do not miss out on the incredible Crystal Bridges Museum of Modern Art. It is magnificent. Not just the architecture, but the art collection as well. As for activities, the area is a Mountain Biker's dream come true with extensive trails that will cater to the novice through expert. A multitude of great coffee shops and restaurants will keep your caffeine level high and tummy full. For the price charged and considering the fact that they are dog friendly and don't punish you with a hefty dog surcharge makes a stay here a no-brainer and is so much appreciated.
