I can't say enough good things about my my experience at Spark. I had a skin consultation with Alma, who was an absolute joy to talk to and then decided on the hydrafacial. My aesthetician Hasna, explained each step as she went along and even let me watch part of the extraction process (don't judge me, I'm weird like that). After seeing the amazing results, I decided to get a 6 facial package. Can't wait to go back. Side bar: the sheets and blankets on the bed we ridiculously comfortable. So much so that I i had to ask who they were by. They were kind enough to find out the maker for me. Such wonderful staff. Update: I can't stop starring at my face. I've been coming to Spark Laser Center for a few years now and I couldn't be happier. When you arrive at their office, you are asked if you'd like to have wine, cookies and other snacks. This is a small but nice touch especially if you are coming from work. After that, you sit with the manager of the office (Amna) to discuss your treatment and what to expect. Of course, this is a time to upsell you but honestly if something isn't beneficial for your skincare needs, they won't recommend it. Also, you should feel comfortable saying if you're not interested in a particular treatment and push back. Remember, not everyone's skin acts in the same way. What works for one person doesn't work for others. The only two treatments I've done here are the VI Peel and the Hydrafacial. The VI Peel I had done was amazing! I have a few acne scars from when I was a teenager and had cystic acne. The peel helped with those scars. While they aren't completely gone, I do notice that they aren't as visible anymore. From the first treatment to the entire completion of the peeling, it took about 7 days. I made sure to do each of my 3 treatments over long holiday weekends so that I could work remotely or use vacation time. This isn't something you'd want to do and go to work as your skin will shed several layers! The Hydrafacial is amazing. Your skin feels and looks so clean afterwards. I get these once a month now for maintenance. Yes, it is pricey but this facial is pricey in general no matter where you go. I don't recommend this place. I feel like I was absolutely bamboozled into spending more money than I originally had planned. It has taken me a year to write this review even because I still am not over how much money I spent here. I originally went it to get underarm laser hair removal, but I was in the city for two months so I could only do 6 sessions total. The hair has grown back of course because they mentioned this wouldn't be enough and they were right. However 6 sessions will cost you $750... meanwhile there are places outside of nyc that will charge you $50/session for such a small area. That's the first part. The second is when they sold me two Hydrafacials, convincing me it's the best thing ever for my skin even though I have rosacea, and of course I needed two facials and not just one. It stung and hurt my skin, and I ended up looking worse after, not better. They mean well here but they don't really know what they're doing, and because they're a small business from the moment you walk in they will try to sell sell sell you more stuff. Although this place is small and simple, you get more for what you pay for with good service, friendliness and updated laser machines. I learned about Sparks Laser because I bought a package for laser hair removal on @giltgroupe which I trust over any other discount site. The 6 session package was a great deal since they use the best laser machine (Candela - I've done my research with this, for being hairless in certain spots permanently is a must for me) and also because the place looked clean in the pictures. The place was located inside an amazing classic older NY building. When I walked into the actual office, I was greeted by a very friendly and pretty Indian woman. She was really pleasant and offered me something to drink and offered me some cookies she had in a glass dome. The office was small, but very clean and minimalist. Once I walked in the actual room that had the Candela laser machine, I was asked to lie down the bed with butcher paper and they analyzed the spot I was going to laser and asked me if I was on any medication or pregnant etc. The procedure was pretty quick and somewhat painless. The "nurse" or clinician had a soft hand and made me feel comfortable. For all this, I gave it 5 stars! read more

The person spoke to me literally for one hour, nothing about scars but random products they have and trying to sell it so hard to the point I started sweating from how annoyed I was. She was going on and oooon. Omg. Didn't even look at my face, let alone up-close. Very disappointing and frustrating to listen about things I had no interest in, and being ignored when saying so. Naturally, did not and would not go back, nor would recommend it to anyone else. Had my first ever laser facial! More specifically, the laser rejuvenation and a TCA chemical peel. I was nervous because I'm brand new to lasers but I Jen, the technician made me feel at ease. I asked her any and every possible question and she kept me in the know every step of the way, huge plus for me! There were parts that would feel hot and sting a bit but she was able to distract me and was sure to give me a warning beforehand. I was red afterwards which I expected but I can already see my skin looking cleanser and clear. What I had helps stimulate collagen under my skin which will flatten out my light wrinkles and simmer down my blemishes. I asked Jen about the other services and she showed me Laser pigmentation by doing a couple test patches on a couple moles I have on my arms which she says will fall off (peel off) in the next few days, umm cool. I was so close to trying Actuane, but thank goodness I chose to try Spark first. Complete waste of time. Called ahead to discuss what I needed and the price I was receiving at another location with a groupon offer. They said they would be able to accommodate and come close to offer I was receiving. Once I was there they offered half of what my offer was at almost the same price. Was there for two hours and felt like I was at a used car dealership. Prices are almost double what other people are offering via groupon. No reason anyone should pay more than $900 for six 45 min sessions. Tip: most groupons are 300-400 for 6 sessions on a large area. Just get 3 groupons at 3 different locations with the same laser type and save yourself thousands. Many places offer $900 for six full body sessions too!! read more
