I've used Sparkle Restoration Services in two homes now - in 2017 for damage we found from a pinhole sized leak behind a wall in 2017 and more recently for damage from a ceiling leak during the recent crazy storms in February. This review is long overdue. Cenmar was wonderful to work with and the job that was done was the best we've experienced for house repairs/services. Cenmar was very responsive, courteous, knowledgeable, and thorough. He was excellent to work with and was the best contractor with whom we've worked. Cenmar and his team are just awesome. We had mold damage in our bathroom and, after some rain, we were beginning to observe problems in our bedroom as well. We took this as a sign to get started on some planned renovations in these same areas. We shopped around for mold remediation services and decided to go with Sparkle Restoration since they can also do remodeling. Even though the process itself was painful (seven weeks of having to drive to a family member's house to shower!), Cenmar and his team did great work and we are ecstatic with the results. The mold remediation itself took approximately one week. The remodel took another six, but it would have been done earlier if we had not ordered some materials which took longer to ship. The crew (Jorge, Mario) briefed us every morning when they came in with the expected work to be done that day. The tiler (another Jorge) also did excellent work and everyone is impressed when I show them pictures! At the end of the day, the crew cleaned up and left as little of a mess as possible. Cenmar checked in with us regularly via email/text/calls to make sure we were happy with the progress throughout the time frame. Whenever we had a question or an issue, it was answered or remedied pretty quickly. Through this whole process, my fiance and I quickly realized we got ourselves into a fixer-upper situation (more of one than we originally thought). Examples include missing roof shingles and improperly installed/sealed windows that leaked during a rain storm. We were happy to have been able to rely on Cenmar and to have everything completed in such a solid timeline, even with additional work. There were a few items that we left to Cenmar's discretion to pick, because we became so overwhelmed by analysis paralysis. We'd selected a countertop that didn't work out in the end, and Cenmar and Jorge had a gorgeous custom countertop made for our vanity, and he selected a bathroom cabinet that went perfectly with the vanity. To sum things up, Cenmar and his team knocked it out of the park. I've already recommended Sparkle Restoration Services to a few friends & colleagues. This is truly as good as it gets folks. Right here....Cenmar and his Sparkle Restoration team are impeccable. My moms house flooded from an overflowing toilet with a valve malfunction. The entire house was a loss basically....All wood floors and 2' up the walls was DESTROYED. (See the pics of before and after in the picture post area/Wood floors warped, walls cut) I'm a take no prisoner type when it comes to business and I needed to protect my 78 year old mom in this process(AAA insurance claim/ THEY ARE A NIGHTMARE TO WORK WITH...Drop AAA if you have them, trust me. You don't want a claim with them vs. other insurance companies) I interviewed about 4 different contractors for the job and researched their reviews for a week straight. The "AAA assigned vendor" was a joke BTW...0 reviews anywhere and acted dumbfounded when I asked about that...Other vendors didn't give me the best feeling with a few good reviews. One guy I had to kick out within 3 min of him showing up. sometimes you just know right away.(attitude)..lol...There was also one that was sort of OK with great reviews but as soon as he found out AAA insurance was involved, refused the job even though I didn't offer it to him.(says a lot about AAA, right?...lol) From day one on site, Cenmar got FULLY involved and tackled the project HEAD ON without any hesitation in an EXTREEMLY professional manner. He even assured me with A 3 YEAR WARRENTY on all work preformed so I wasn't screwed into using the single vendor AAA tries to force on you.(Even though it is illegal for them to do so. They're very careful on how they pressure you on that point staying just inside the law on that pressure) Needless to say, Cenmars attitude and experience combined with the reviews across MULTIPLE websites like you see here made me confident in my choice of contractors. AAA tried screwing us on the cost of replacement multiple times requiring a long fight with their delays trying to keep the estimate below standard cost...The delays from them were insane. They took basically a month and a half to get us the final claim amounts including the ITEL report for the floor value. Enter Cenmar part 2....We can FINALLY start work!....Cenmar and his team got the work done QUICK QUICK QUICK! An ENTIRE 4 bedroom house including wood floors throughout, wall repairs, paint(That he also expertly helped us coordinate colors and layout)....again, look at the finished product in the pics area here on yelp. ***I have to give an additional shout out to Jorge here...main man on-site daily and one hell of a good guy. He addressed any concerns(which were few) that we had with Cenmar and IMMEDETELY got them handled. An absolute pleasure to work with. At this point all work is complete except a few touchup items that we haven't addressed yet since I've been so busy trying to get back my life...lol. I'm not sweating that or anything that might pop up in the next 3 years as I know reviews can be updated at any time and Cenmars history of reviews are impeccable everywhere.(Don't even fret if you have a little trouble getting initial contact like some over-complainers have done...Imagine how busy/in demand these guys are with these reviews...Their loss for not hanging there initially. While confined to home I noticed a musty smell. There had been a roof leak into my condominium most of the winter ( love the HOA) and I was concerned about mold. I interviewed a couple of mold remediators and none did the job start to finish. The set up is so involved I couldn't imagine being left with open drywall in my bedroom and living room waiting for a crew of drywallers to get started! I had mold remediation during an escrow in 2004, and I was very impressed how smoothly it went. In 2012 I had a flood in my home that required an extensive amount of work, and I used sparkle restoration, and they were amazing. They were clean, professional, and above all honest about their credentials and their pricing. Flash forward to today, we were having some issues with our plumbing. We ultimately had a bigger issue that ended with about 10 gallons of water all over our kitchen floor. We cleaned, we moved appliances, and we got it all up, but ultimately we were concerned about the amount of potential water damage. I immediately thought to call Cenmar and sparkle again and he did not disappoint. He fit us in same day, he was thoughtful in answering our questions and concerns and he tested the water levels in our home. He told us the percentages of water levels and talked about what it meant. Here's the kicker though, instead of trying to sell us his services, he helped us find a different solution. By far the most ethical contractor I've ever met. He hands you a folder with all of his licenses, and proof of insurance before he does any work. It's incredible considering getting this information from some contractors is like pulling teeth! He is completely upfront and honest, and one of the kindest people I've ever met. He was so upfront, and so wonderful that when we endeavor to remodel our kitchen we will use him as a general contractor, and will recommend him to all our friends. I was worried about the possibility of mold, so thanks to all you yelpers, I contacted Sparkle Restoration Services. I made the phone call Friday and spoke to a gentleman on the phone to try and see how urgent the matter was. After a series of questions, it would not be an emergency call which would save me an emergency call fee. We set up an appointment for Monday around noon. Saturday morning, I receive a call from Cenmar who informed me that he would be in the area and would be able to come by around noon. If you have had water damage in the past, you know the importance of preventing further damage in a timely manner. It was so awesome to be remembered rather than an appointment on the calendar, and to get peace of mind sooner. When Cenmar arrived, he was super courteous- please and thank yous the entire time! I realized the moisture level was really high in my house. Then found out there is water in my walls, but no visible mold. I called sparkle for a second opinion. With no visible damage and it is summer; Cenmar said, if I fixed the problem from outside, it will most likely dry. Mold likes moisture. Instead of ripping out all my walls, he told me how to try and the fix the problem. I brought dirt down around house, turned sprinklers off and even lowered my pavers. I am now getting foundation sealed, patch holes and waterproof. Then add drip system around house. Cross my fingers when I retest moisture levels, there won't be any problems. Sparkle was the only company in Orange County that had an elite certification (that was recommended to us) so we called them. I am happy I did. They blew every prior carpet cleaner I had had out of the the water. Cenmar, the owner, came to inspect our carpets before the appointment and he explained how they would perform the service. I talked about the leak in our family room and the fabulous job Richard at Pristine Plumbing did to fix it elsewhere. Now it was the time to take care of the water damage and the mold issues. Back to the yelp.com, I started looking for restoration service providers, which weren't many and so I looked at other places... To make it short, I got estimates from 5 different places. Not only Cenmar from Sparkle gave one of the lowest bids, he spent much longer inspecting the site and doing all kinds of tests and measurements. He was so accurate that unlike other people, he also mentioned the possibility of the water damage extending to the other side of the wall. They have a trustworthy, courteous and hardworking group. Juan and Efrain were the gentlemen that did most of the labor and they were fabulous to work with. They not only were extremely considerate of our home but were very detailed with their work. Cenmar, the owner of the company, was also a tremendous asset. He worked with our insurance adjustor tirelessly to minimize the headaches that one might expect in dealing with any insurance company. First, I just want to say that Cenmar and his team are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I recently had Sparkle Restoration perform mold remediation on my home. We used Sparkle for cleanup and restoration of damage in our kitchen. I had started with another company who was doing the dry-out incorrectly and talking in circles, not giving me any estimate, then an estimate on demolition/cleanup but not rebuild. Cenmar from Sparkles came out within hours of my call, was extremely professional and articulate about my problem and the scope / variability of the project. He delivered a wonderfully detailed and comprehensive proposal and when I accepted, he said he'd be there the next day to start. He even talked me through various options and scenarios. I cannot recommend Sparkle Restoration enough. We actually switched to work with them partway through an ongoing project due to some communication issues with the other contractor and we were not disappointed. The input line to our fridge broke and flooded our kitchen, leading to a big project where we had to replace all of our floors and cabinets. Cenmar (the owner) was extremely communicative and kept us up to date on all the various moving parts of the projects (floors, painting, cabinet install, countertop install, electrical, touch-up, etc...) and the team did high-quality work.
