The good was the quality repair to the crushed pipes. Installed new pipe to the damaged areas. It was a big job. The crew was respectful, cleaned up each day after themselves. The main guy, Irving was a blessing. He was customer focused, kept the crew working. He was always concerned about how we were dealing with the chaos around the 3 holes in our house, the piles of dirt in our courtyard. Always asking how we're doing. True asset to any company. Now the BAD...The actual plumbing work took 8 days. That in itself was overwhelming. To accomplish this work, the crew pulled up a portion of the luxury vinyl in the master bedroom, dug a good size hole, did the same in the master closet and a third hole in the guest bathroom. We understood why this was necessary. When the new plumbing installation was complete (8 days), the contract stated they would make sure everything would be put back the way it was before they started. It literally took 22 days before my 3 rooms were back to the original condition. The subcontractor they sent out to put the flooring back was not qualified. The plumbing company filled the holes and poured "some" concrete. They did not level it, which should have been the restoration company making sure of before laying down the luxury vinyl. We had 4 1/2 boxes of new planks for them to use if needed. As it turned out the flooring company removed more planks and made the restoration much larger than it needed to be. Consequently there was not enough of our flooring. After several calls to find our replacement luxury vinyl it was determined it was discontinued and none to be found. The Rooter Company agreed to let us pick a replacement flooring that we would be happy with. Since we were not happy with quality of work their installer performed, they allowed us to find our own installer. We did appreciate The Rooter Company making the situation right to our satisfaction. Was the company good? Yes as far as the plumbing repairs. Did they follow through with fixing the affected area in our 3 rooms in a timely manner, NO! My recommendation is before starting any work, get in writing a start & end date of all repairs. Make sure the subcontractors they use know what they're doing. I tried calling the CEO of the Rooter Company, I believe his name was Mark, left a message, would like a call back. He never called. Not good customer service. And for that reason, I will not recommend this company. Based on my explanation of our experience, it's up for you to decide to use them or not. read more

When you live with a bunch of ladies, sometimes your shower gets clogged. Normally I'm able to snake a drain like a pro, but something about this wad of hair that was lodged in our pipes was unholy. After four tries, I gave up and called The Rooter Company. Even with the tech's high end drain auger, he was surprised how stubborn the massive trichobezoar our shower had somehow digested was to being dislodged. After a minute of snaking, the sound of shower draining was met with applause. "Wow, that's one massive wad of hair," said the tech, snapping a photo for posterity. "Where's the trash?" he continued. Do not use this company.... They don't have any direct technicians for the repairs. They use other companies and are more like a middle man. They don't have clear communication with the companies they send out to do the work so whatever you're given as an estimate is not what they ultimately charge. You will have to pay a lot more. They keep saying they'll work with you on price if something comes up during the work which is a cop out. Due to their refusal to communicate, I am proceeding with a formal complaints with the California DFPI (Case #CN0042204) and the Attorney General. To the business owner: Ignoring a certified legal notice doesn't make the matter go away. We have the timestamped photos proving the job wasn't finished when you claimed it was, and we have the proof of two Pixel-for-pixel identical signatures on both invoices. We will see this through with law enforcement and state regulators. Quoted $65 for snaking a main drain clogged. Guys shows up and suddenly saids $199 and will only go from the roof. When I ask about snaking from the toilet he says that's going to be $800 and no guarantees. He tried Air vent from the roof but it was too short. Don't even know if he went into the right pipe. He then try to sell me an installation of clean out. At that point, I told him I was going to call the office about why I'm being charged different prices. Quality work and reasonable rates. The Rooter Company has honest plumbers with integrity. We had 3 faucets, 2 garbage disposals, and 2 dishwashers connected with new pipes under the sinks. We had a kitchen restoration job that went bad, where the original contractors did a horrible job. So when the plumbers orignally came after we got our estimate, they had informed us the countertops and sinks were not installed correctly and there is a huge gap that can affect the plumbing if they were to install the plumbing at that moment. I chose to get the countertops and sink installation done correctly. Honesty -the plumbers checked for any potential problems that may occur if they were to proceed. As a homeowner, I appreciate this. Integrity- Most plumbers would have just done the job and not care about future issues. Customer service- communication with the plumbers is key. They answered all my questions in a professional manner. Our trust with Vinny the manager is the reason why we chose this company. Silvano and Isaiah were the plumbers that came out. They performed the work in an efficient manner. They were friendly and informed me about the work before and after the installation. They took all the trash and left the place clean. Luke was our technician and showed up :30 minutes after my initial call to their number, on a Saturday! He was very professional and polite. He scoped my lines in a matter of minutes and pointed out all the issues that were found. I ended up hydrojetting which seemed expensive at the time, but then googled up hydrojetting and it actually seemed in-line with market cost . I was actually more bummed he wouldn't recommend snaking the line due to the primary issues (but their quote on doing that seemed super above market, so maybe that's the way they get you to hydrojet. This, I do not know, since it seemed expensive and not a good solution for my case) There was another tech in the area that stopped by that gave me a lot of information on some bigger problematic issues and provided good solutions. It was just too big of a project to confirm on the spot. But I appreciate both the explanation and quote on the spot (albeit lengthy). A couple hours later, my drains are flowing and I'd gladly pay a small premium for the availability (if they were a little on the high end) and that's why I will give my recommendation. I hired these guys to fix a problem with the kitchen faucet not running on hot and the hallway shower having low water pressure. Rooter eventually found the problem and fixed it. But after I paid them $7,900 to install a water conditioning system, which they should have known would not fix it. I paid $1,450 for them to fix the actual problem after the condo's HOA had diagnosed that it was a blockage in the pipes of my unit, which I had to go through the trouble of contacting the HOA and having them send someone, which took a week, based on Rooter's Supervising Plumber claiming there was a leak on the HOA side because the meter still spun when he shut off the water to the unit. Rooter should have known it still spun because there are 8 other units the meter services. It is a three-story condo. The original quote he gave me to fix the actual problem, after I had already paid $7,900 for a water conditioning system was $2,400. And he offered this price after I asked him to give me a fair price since I'd already paid him a large sum for the water conditioning work. $2,400 was not a fair price considering the repair job and considering I had already paid $7,900 for a system which did not fix the problem. Not to mention, the hallway shower no longer ran water at all after the water conditioning system was installed. He settled on $1,450, which I feel was still too steep. But paid because I was so tired of this problem dragging on for the weeks it dragged on. The office had also told me they would do the repair work under the warranty of the water conditioning system. But their plumbing supervisor didn't honor that. I felt pressured price-wise to pay them, which I really didn't appreciate. They fixed the problem and are knowledgeable about plumbing, so I'm rating them 3 stars. But if they hadn't been out to squeeze me of money and had been out to fix it honestly from the beginning, I would give them 5 stars. If they were to refund me $1,450 I would give them 5 stars. On a separate note, the sediment in the pipes may have come from Anaheim public utility's water treatment plant, a $200 million project which got the green light in 2020, completed phase A and B construction in 2024, and Phase C construction to complete between Fall 2026-2028, to treat chemicals from 19 groundwater wells. Neighbors have reported damage done to a brand new dishwasher since the project started. So if you live in Anaheim, beware that this may be the problem of low water pressure or no pressure and get your plumber to fix it honestly from the beginning. read more
