Came by to wash the car the other day. This place takes their proprietary tokens only at a value of $1 each. To run the car wash, it's $4 and it lasts for ~5 minutes. The property is pretty run down and decrepit. The equipment does work although the brush is wearing out. At least the water pressure is still decent and there was soap when requested. This place is absolutely terrible. It is coin op with only tokens or a very shady and broken phone application. 6 dollars = 6 tokens = 5 minutes. This place is a scam for anything but a quick rinse off. The "5 minutes" starts counting down from the very moment you put in the first token. You need to put in the 6 tokens quickly to lose less time to the system. This place is a scam. I did not trust the soap they use. I brought my own soap and a big 20 gallon bucket to fill with soap and water during the initial rinse cycle. Buy a big pack of yellow car wash towels from Costco and remember to remove the tags to not scratch your car. The brushes are dirty and will scratch your car. Do not use the brushes here. The hose is high pressure with no option to reduce water pressure. The facility is dirty and not worth the $6 dollars for less than 5 minutes of use. I strongly recommend people to use other carwash stations or have a hand wash place wash the car for about 30 once a month. This place is a scam. read more

I usually bring my own scratch-free wash mitt because the wash brushes that they have scratches the car. Started with the soap wash to cover the car with soap then uses the mitt to scrub the car before rinsing. Dried the car and I was on my way. Overall it was quick and easy process and there is always a wash stall available every time I go. The pressure washers light on the car's paint unlike some places that have super strong water pressure that would damage your car's clear coat over time. I learn a new routine every time I go so that I can maximize my $$ (I spend $5-6). It became a fun game for me. 5-stars if they increase the minutes for $4 value. read more

Sure, the sounds of birds are chirping in the air, there are trees blossoming, and the temperature is warmer. Yes, to all the above. However, I know it is spring because bird starting pooping on my car. I mean, hard core. As I walked out of my office last week, there was a HUGE bird poop splatter on the hood of my car. I mean GRANDE. I was too lazy to do anything about this weekend, and I knew that I had to take care of it. Normally, I would just go through the drive through car wash at a gas station, but I was feeling industrious, and wanted to do it myself. So, I remembered that there was this coin-op car wash on my way home, and I would stop by. Now, I didn't come prepared like I should have. I drove into the bay and noted that it was $3.50 for 5 minutes; oh, and did I mention that it would only take quarters? I scrambled through the change in my gym bag, my ashtray, and any other place I could find it. There was some change machines that took only $1s and $5s. I thought that I had gotten everything under control, started inserting the quarters into the machine and find out ... damnit, I counted a nickel as a quarter and had already inserted $3.25 ... and with no "return coin" function on the darn machine. I was screwed. I had to ask a guy that was vacuuming out his car to change out my two dimes and a nickel. So, the wash goes decently ... but five minutes ain't long enough to wash your car thoroughly. Especially a car that had a bird poopy that was the size of Rhode Island! I had misted the car down, scrubbed it with the soap brush, and started rinsing it down for the last time when the mother f*cker started beeping at me saying I had less than a minute left. I was panicked. I started rinsing off the suds as quickly and thoroughly as I could, but to no avail. There was still some soap left on the roof of the car. B*tches. Came here to rinse off the dirt and grime before using Meguiar's Wash & Wax Anywhere (check it out! works awesome!) Saw other drivers washing, drying, vacuuming their cars. Their hose system dispenses water, soap, and wax. Personally I don't trust what kind of soap or wax stuff they have in their dispensers or the scrubbing brushes that are there (who knows what dirt or grime is left on there from other cars and I've seen other washers use the brush on tires and their car body- not worth scratching my car! ;) I can't imagine washing my car here in 4 minutes or less by myself so expect to bring quarters and maybe an extra hand to help you with scrubbing, rinsing, drying, etc. read more

I've been here about three times now but the 3rd time made me want to write this review. TL;DR Survival Kit: 1. Pick your wash bay (yes, it matters) 2. Have your bills ready. They accept $1/$5/$10/$20. - $4 for a short wash - $5 for a minimal wash - $12 for my wash 3. There are 4 settings - Rinse / Wash (Soaping water) - Rinse (Water only) - Brush (Wish foamy soap) - Wax? (I haven't used this one) 4. Rinse 5. Scrub Scrub Scrub Scrub 6. Rinse -- When I roll in to this car wash, I like bringing the works with me: 1. Bucket 2. Wash Mitt 3. Detailing Towels 4. Drying towels 5. Maybe spray wax / tire shine I usually come here after work around 6 PM. Washing bays are usually unoccupied so I can spend my sweet time caressing and making out with my car. Step 1: I first start by choosing a wash bay. I've been in three different wash bays so far, and noticed that choosing the correct one does matter (I'll leave bay guessing up to the reader so my personal bay doesn't get occupied :D): -The first bay I've used had a weak spray and it took a long time for it to change from a soapy spray to just water. Even then, there was a lot of soap residue. -The second bay I've used had a weak spray and wouldn't even change to just water. -The third bay I've used had a VERY STRONG and optimal spray and changes from soapy water to water in an instant, but the soapy water wasn't as concentrated. I had to start the foam brush and dump a bunch of its excrements onto my car to start the wash. Step 2: Now that you have your bay selected, you need to decide whether you want to bring your own wash mitt or use the brush. The brush seems pretty soft and it sprays some nice stuff out, but it is prone to scratching your car. What I usually do is bring my own mitt and then use the soap they provide. Step 3: Spray and Pray. Blast the sucker down and make grime and dust fear you. Don't forget your tires, they need love too. Step 4: Drive to drying area Step 5: Hope you brought you own towel because they cost $2 each (I believe). Dry Car. Optional Steps: Vacuum / Clay Bar / Wax / Spray Wax / Shine Tires Step 6: Drive off into the sunset (or the neighboring McDonalds / Wienerschnitzel / Yummy Yogurt) Summary: This place is good. I usually go to a coin-op in Mt. View, but this one was conveniently located near some errands. I've been here a couple times before over the years. I usually avoided this Saratoga Av place because it was one of the pricier coin-ops. Good news: The price is now down enough to be competitive with the one at Bay&Oak in Mt. View. Bad news: Token ran carwash. If you don't have ones, you'll possibly spend more than you need for your wash. Bad news: Two of the five bays have broken dials that point to processes (rinse, soap, wax...) other than what the hose will output. I don't know what everyone is talking about. I pulled into the far right bay and I had a timer. It was really high up and hard to see but it's up there. My complaint is the weak ass hose pressure. Even at my advanced age my urine stream is stronger than this. If I can put my hand in front of the water and it doesn't hurt from the spray, then it's not strong enough. In my haste I scratched my car with the nozzle of the sprayer. Some car washes like these have plastic protector tips for idiots like me. I was here on a Sunday morning. I did not have any quarters with me but there was an attendant who gave some tokens in exchange for dollars. the water speed was good. The soap wasn't that great. I bring my own brush and soap in a bucket. I also bring my own towels. All in all I spend 4 bucks and was satisfied with my job. Good thing is I don't have to tip anyone or worry about scratching my car. This is much better than Harv car wash nearby, u just need some soap, brush, bucket and some towels. read more
