Last time I came I had a terrible experience with the owner who accused me of taking the polish off when the lady who did my nails failed to dry them correctly and top coat it. He made me feel very uncomfortable about the whole situation. So I decided maybe I can give them another chance for a pedicure because it can't be too difficult. I called to book an appointment and the owner was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! He was upset about my last review and called me out about it on the phone. I was visiting my brother and sister-in-law, needed a manicure and pedicure for Thanksgiving. My SIL recommended this place and initially I thought I would give it a shot; I called and asked to make an appointment I was told that the manicure was $25 and pedicure was $35 (decent prices), I scheduled my appointment for 5:45 pm, same day. I arrived at 5:40 was asked to sit down and wait 5 minutes, 5:55 pm came and I had to ask if I would be waiting any longer? One of the ladies asked me what I was there for and if I had an appointment- 6:05 I was told to sit down in one for the spa chairs and I waited some more. They asked me if I looked at the menu, I said I just wanted a basic manicure and pedicure- then I was told color for the toes would be $5 more- wish they would've told me upfront when I called. She rushed through my pedi and mani, honestly I didn't even see if she grabbed new tools to take care of me, sterile. I had my nails done on Sunday and immediately noticed that the acrylic was applied too far from my cuticles, making the set look grown out right away. Because the salon was closed Monday and my work schedule didn't allow me to return until Thursday, I went back a few days later and politely asked if my nails could be corrected. Unfortunately, the situation was handled very unprofessionally. The nail technician, Tayween, became visibly upset when I requested a fix and repeatedly told me she could not control how fast my nails grow, despite my concern being about the application placement. She began removing the polish but grew increasingly frustrated, raised her voice, and complained about the time it would take to correct the work. Due to how uncomfortable the interaction became, my nails were never fixed. I paid $70 for a simple French tip, and within four days the polish was already chipped and the set looked weeks old. I understand that mistakes can happen, but customer service and professionalism matter when a client respectfully asks for a correction. Based on this experience, I would not recommend returning for services if an issue arises, as concerns may not be handled appropriately. read more

My last few visits have not been great since new ownership. I made an appointment and waited 40 minutes after my appointment to be seen. I completely understand it's the holidays and being behind, but someone came in after me with no appointment and was seen right away. Then when it was my turn, I felt like my appointment was rushed. My cuticles weren't touched, my nails weren't shaped well, and then my nails were very thick. I wanted just a simple French tip and they are not good. The amount of acrylic left on my skin and I had to peel off after is not okay. The nails are lumpy and all different thickness. I wanted a quick manicure while my sister was getting her hair done down at Mural Salon so took a chance on walking in. It was a Friday morning so I thought chances were good. I went in and was told to check in on the small iPad on the front desk by the manager. There were only two other customers and 2 technicians that were waiting for a customer. I was told to go to the first station after I checked in. The technician asked what I wanted and I told her a polish manicure. She asked if I wanted gel and I said no. She had me pick my color which was gold for my friends 50th anniversary party and again she asked if I wanted gel and again I said no. She got to business with no conversation. I tried a couple times to make comments then gave up. The service was quick and effective. I didn't like the mini massage on my hands and wrists with the thick gloves she had on though. Once she was almost done she started warming up to make small talk. I learned she was from Saigon which was interesting as she talked about her family. They do not guarantee a three day return on their work and after the holiday weekend I am turning them into the BBB! I had work done on Friday and the technician Anna didn't provide the service I requested and I felt bad and I didn't have time to wait for her to redo the service she took $10 off but the next day three of the nail polishes fell off. I notice shes rushing my toes, forget to scrub and massage 1 foot and kept messing up with toes cutting it and leaving it crooked. She seemed annoyed every time i asked her to fix it. My time is valuable and if I had known I had to wait a half our to be seen I would have been able to use that 30 min doing other things on my long list. Really sad how downhill this place went. It used to be my go to but now I unfortunately will never be back. Prices have went up for a shorter time pedicure and sloppy service. My pedicure was $50 for gel and was less than 15 minutes of service. This was the deluxe option, so I can't imagine how short the "regular" pedicure is. Seats also are not sanitized between use. It is very obvious that this place only cares about money now. They rush their services to get another person in the chair. After I left the salon, I noticed that the gel had a bunch of towel hair in it. It was also super sloppy. I went back in to have the technician fix the two worst nails. I didn't want her to re-do all the nails as she already started on another client. The technician painted over the towel hair but when I got back to my car I noticed another huge hair on one of the toes that she "fixed". The technician was super nice but it's unfortunate that this salon does not care about quality. They want you in and out as fast as possible so they can squeeze in another customer. read more

Basically, Service is nice and nails and toes come out fine, I think there's a booking problem since there's always a wait even with an appt, but the prices aren't bad so I figured I'd wait anyways. Pedicure was great, I got the deluxe which was $40, plus $10 with gel. We had a 15-minute wait even with the appt. Workers were pretty nice and dealt with my ticklish feel well, haha. Even though they were busy, they allowed me to stay in the massage chair after I was done. I asked if I could get a manicure last minute, but they were super busy, so I set an appt for the next day. Manicure was alright, I waited 20 mins after my appt time. I noticed the technician didn't clean underneath the nail, which I thought was a normal thing to get? Maybe she forgot or rushed, I'm not sure. The paint also didn't go to the base and edges of my nail, and I got black, so I knew it was a risky color to paint with. So Tammy was such a sweetheart. Such a kind hearted person. HOWEVER I did ask 1 time to fix the shape 1 time to try to remove my previous color correct. She didn't because it's difficult to remove ombré color. (Idk but my original nail tech ALWAYS removes the previous color.) I asked her 2-3 times to fix the shape. Again she was sooooo incredibly sweet I couldn't bare to be impatient. But as it would have it. My polish chipped not even 2 hours after having them. I ended up redoing my nails to the shape and thickness I liked. Called manager and he didn't understand or like that I got my nails redone by someone else because they were bad. read more

Went on Saturday (11/7) and while they were very nice, I simply cannot give them more than 1 star. (The one star is literally just because they were nice). My sister in law, our two friends, and I all had 10am appt for pedis. We arrive and they seat us, but only one tech is available. She starts one me, about 10 mins later my sister in law and other friend get theirs going. Okay, No big deal. However, our third friend waited for almost 30 mins before anyone even came over to her! It was ridiculous. If they can't fit us all in at 10am, as promised, then they shouldn't take the reservation. My lady completely ignored my color choice and gave me Barbie pink glitter nails. Since it's winter and no one is going to really see them anyway, I just went with it. (Plus I was hungover. Haha it was my birthday weekend so we partied the night before). Regardless, she should have respected my initial color choice. The pedi itself was okay. Though she left my nails square, which I had specially asked for round. And the gel wasn't as clean/neat as I've had at other places. Since my friends were still in the middle of their pedis, I decided to get a mani. The gal was very nice and did (what a perceived at the time) a good job, but today I noticed it's already peeling off! I've never had a gel mani last only two days. Even when I've done it with the drugstore brands myself, they last longer. Very disappointed. AND: to make matters worse, I witnessed a nail tech take the jet thing from my sister in laws foot bath, shake it, and place it directly onto another gals foot bath without any sanitizing!!! I go in, and no the staff seemed to be bickering. I sat down with a nail tech that was new to me. As I needed my nails done that day, had been happy with others there, didn't think it would be a problem. She asked me what nail shape I wanted, so I showed her a picture of my own nails that I had previously had done there. She started doing my nails and literally asked me not to watch her do my nails. I was in the middle of the service, and so didn't say anything, as I really didn't want her to screw up my nails. When she was to the shaping part, she asked me how was the shape. I wanted oval, as the picture I had shown her clearly were. She showed me the first nail, and it was square. So I corrected and showed her the same picture once again. She then angrily cut the other nails to make it easier to shape into oval. At this point she she bickering with the other staff. So I am just sitting there uncomfortable with significantly shorter nails. When she was done, she put the color on my nails. It wasn't like the nails that I had gotten done before at that salon! So I hastily picked another color just to be done with it. She sloppily put on the color as I will show in the picture. In my over 20 years of getting my nails done professionally, and even after getting really terrible nail jobs, I have never had such an awful experience and service in that time. As I am terribly polite to a fault, I think some people mistake this for being meek. She attempted to overcharge me for having to reshape the nails. As I told her that I had showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted, and wasted my time, that would be a no to the overcharge. And showed her the picture again. I paid by card, as I usually leave a generous cash tip. She then angrily asked me what I wanted to leave for tip. And for the first time in my life at that moment, decided not to leave a tip. So told her there would be no tip. So it was 35.00 for an acrylic fill-in with gel nail polish. read more

Sparks Nail Spa is located in the shopping center down the street from Legends, where L&L is. They are pretty new, but the salon is super clean to some of the other ones I've been to. Ricky is my nail tech, and he impressed me every time! He gets me in on time, and if he's running behind me makes up for it. Ricky always does the best designs and offers his opinion too if I can't make up my mind, but every time it turns out beautiful! If you're looking for complex designs, this is the place! I know a lot of salons don't have supplies for fancy designs, but this place has it all. I believe a full set is $40-45, and fill is $38 (depending on design).
