I brought my 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander to this dealership because of a safety concern involving the vehicle's shifting system. I attempted to work with the dealership and Toyota corporate to have the issue properly reviewed. After raising concerns and trying to get the matter addressed, the dealership owner informed me that they will no longer service my vehicle moving forward. Consumers should feel comfortable bringing forward potential safety concerns without feeling dismissed or refused service. My goal has simply been to have the issue properly investigated so my family and others can drive safely. I recommend that customers document everything and get communication in writing when dealing with warranty or safety concerns. read more

Worst car buying experience I have ever had. Big ripoff dealership. I had to go back 5 times to resign paperwork. Everytime i went back to sign paperwork they kept adding charges to my bill. My salesman told me pinstripping was free they do on all there new cars, but that was a lie cause they charged me in the end for it. He also gave me phone charging cords for my phones and said they were free but again I was charged for them. Never ever will I recommend them. If there was no stars I would give them that. read more

Owner has no business being in customer service. I took my Toyota"s to them for 12+ years. I've owned Toyota's for over 40 years. After a contentious email exchange with Patrick Spark, I took my car in for routine maintenance. One of the salesmen called me in to try and talk me into into trading in my 2018 Prius. I told him that, after my exchange with the owner, I would not buy another vehicle from Sparks. I scheduled my 40,000 mile routine maintenance for later this month and just received a call that Patrick will no longer do business with me. Since I bought 4 tires from them in the past and was given free tire rotations, they are now in breach of contract. Save yourself money and time and go elsewhere. I traded in my 2011 rav4 for a 2021 rav4 hybrid a year ago. I was lucky enough to get the vehicle with only 16,000 miles on it so it qualified for new car warranty. It now has 32,000 miles and when I brought it in for service they start quoting prices for what needed to be done. After advocating for myself and reminding them of the warranty details I was able to get my services completed according to the warranty. Please, pay attention to details of your warranty when getting service. read more

You would think a dealership could do a simple oil change! Wrong. I went in for an oil change, was overcharged and they used the wrong weight oil viscosity in my vehicle. When I asked about it they said they used the correct oil and my invoice was just a typo!! Not buying it. Beware if you go to Sparks Toyota!! read more

These people try to get as much money from you as they can. They tell you that you need every possible maintenance and flush that exists no matter how new your vehicle is and they'll quote you a hugely inflated price for each item. They are despicable. They wanted to charge me $200 for air filters and windshield wipers! Are you insane?! Horrible!!! read more

Brought in Toyota rav 4 for a light socket replacement and new bulb. All went well until I left premises. Stopped to get groceries and raised hatchback. Tried to close it but would not close completely. Retirned to dealer and service dept. They told me cylinders were no good. Took to another shop. Cylinders are fine. Service dept. Finance people are dishonest! I will not buy a vehicle from them again. I just bought. $62k Grand Highlander Platinum. I traded in a 2019 Toyota Tacoma and they gave me a fair value for it. The out the door loan amount was $38k. This was on 2/27/2025. I called just called to pay it off the loan and they said it was $45k. After arguing with them they finally explained that all their expended warranties (that were previously explained as included) were what the difference was and they had increased my loan value without me knowing it. I was not happy to say the least. I have to go back in on Monday to sign the cancellation paperwork. This is a very dishonest practice and evidence of them having no integrity. This is Very disappointing because our salesperson was very good and I would have gone back to her to replace my wife's car later this year. Let the buyer beware!! read more

Drive 45 minutes to get my car serviced because I had a dead battery. They tested it on a Saturday and said the battery was fine. Today is Tuesday, just three days later and the battery is totally dead again. The outside temperature is in the 50s. They tested one thing but didn't solve the problem. They now expect me to drive 90 minutes (45 minutes both ways) to have them try again to solve the problem. They offered me nothing. They expected me to just lose time. For 45 years I've taken my cars to the dealer for service - sadly, having moved here 9 months ago, this Toyota dealer is not on the same service level as my dealer back in PA. I won't be going back to Sparks. I suggest you don't either. read more

Needed an oil change in my Tundra. Drove right in, no appointment, and Don, my service advisor got me right in. With a beautiful in-door, 2 bay drive-in service center and an exclusive one lane exit, this is the best Toyota experiences I've had. What a great looking showroom too. 2011 Sequoia 4.6L We were on vacation at Myrtle Beach. It was Friday afternoon after a day at Wonderworks with the kids and when I started up the Sequoia the front dash light up like a Christmas tree. Check engine light, 4Lo blinking, VSC OFF Blinking drove to auto parts store to get the codes from OBD. Code 2442. Took to Sparks Toyota dealership first thing Saturday morning and Timmy Pierce took me in. The expense would have been $2-3k but fortunately Toyota had extended a warranty for this issue to 150k miles. Sparks Toyota had parts on hand and performed the work that same day. We made the drive back to KY the very next day. If it had not need for the great service, quick response time and professional mechanics at Sparks Toyota we would have been stranded 600 miles from home for a few more days! read more

My 2012 Tacoma wouldn't accelerate as it normally does. The secondary air pump would not kick in. This dealer diagnosed the problem accurately, located a service campaign on this issue, obtained the replacement parts and had the car repaired by lunch at no cost to me. Additionally, I left my credit cards sitting on the passenger seat by mistake when I dropped the car off. I called back to the dealership and the cashier made the effort to locate the cards and keep them safe until I picked the car up. That was very nice on her part. I had never used this dealership before, went in very, very skeptical and came away with a very good impression. I'll be using this dealership again. read more

It took Sparks Toyota Service nearly two hours to do a scheduled oil change on my car. Either get mechanics who know how to do oil changes in a reasonable time or hire more staff. Never coming back here. The service lady also tried to sell me new windshield wipers claiming I needed them when clearly mine are practically new and work flawlessly. What idiots. read more

This place is such a joke! You would think being the only Toyota around you'd get top quality people to deal with but sadly that's not even close to being the case. The only thing that matters to sparks Toyota is your money in there pocket... period. We scheduled an oil change service with full intention it was at no charge like the other previous services had been before this one. We get charged $130 for an oil change and tire rotation and get told we need all these services trying to get our bill up over $600. LAME! I could have done the service in my garage in less time and spent A fraction of the cost! the ONLY reason we let these guys touch our vehicle was that we thought services were free but nOpE! Sparks Toyota once again falls on it's face and fails to inform you that the next service won't be free and pull it out of there hat right when your thinking your about to get in the car and leave boom here's your surprise Bill! I could go on and on all day about how sorry this place is but just read any review on any platform and you'll see they suck at everything. yea maybe a few hard to believe ones saying how awesome there experience was and they treated me so well yada yada yada! Well, looks like I got scammed. Took my Lexus in for service. Does not appear that oil change was done. Of course they said it was but service person forgot to reset info. Tires were not rotated and they did issue me a $20 credit (like I am actually going to take my car back here for anything) My dashboard had 3 small cracks that were not there when I took it in. Apparently they do not consider changing cabin filter 'inside vehicle' work. Makes me very upset that I thought I could trust them . Now I have to take it to Charleston for service. I would suggest you mark your tires if rotating also filters and check oil before and after. A lesson learned!!!! read more

I recently purchased a new 2019 Rav 4 from Sparks Toyota. Recently it was time for my 15k miles service. Since I fall into the high risk group for Corina,I asked about them picking up my vehicle and dropping it off after the service. I was told it wasn't possible as I live 20 miles from the dealership and they only do that for a fee if you live within 15 miles. I went in and had my service done and completed a Toyota survey and mentioned my frustration. The service manager contacted me to discuss my dissatisfaction. I was informed that no one else does valet service and I informed him that I worked for another agency and they did. He said that they probably didn't offer other services that Sparks did. I looked up other local Toyota dealerships and they did. The service manager told me I could have waited a month and this corona situation would be over. I explained that there was no way he could say that with any certainty. Seeing the way Sparks Toyota choses to treat its "Preferred Customers" during these special times, next time I will shop elsewhere( which I paid for in cash I might add) . read more

Took my 2017 Tacoma to Sparks Toyota for service and a small issue. I have taken it there sense it was new. But never again! Here is why....I had a low tire warning light on my dash. Which usually means a faulty tire pressure unit in one of the tires. They wanted over $100 just to do a diagnostic check to find the problem. 2 hours later, they told me what I already knew, a bad tire pressure value. They then said it would be over $200 just to replace it. I had my oil changed as well, with a coupon for $39. But my bill was $126 because I did not want them to fix the tire pressure valve. I left went to Discount tire, it only took them five minutes to walk around my truck and check each tire pressure unit with a hand held tool. No charge, they found the right rear pressure unit was faulty. They replaced it in less than 20 minutes and my total bill was only $65. Everything is fixed now, but Sparks Toyota wanted over $300 to do what Discount tire did for $65! I contacted the owner of Sparks Toyota by email, no response, I called the GM, he said he would look into it, but I received no response! They stole about $80 from me and tried to steal hundreds! EVERYONE should be aware, how they make their money in the service dept. Lying, stealing and taking advantage of people whenever they can! read more

I went to fill my car with gas as my gauge said I needed gas. When I went to put gas in the tank, it would not take more than a gallon. Obviously, my gas gauge was not functioning correctly in my 2016 Prius. I made an appointment to take the car in for service as this is a safety issue. I made it there well within my appointment time 8:20 for an 8:30 appointment. An hour later (9:30) someone finally came by to tell me that someone was looking at my car. An hour and a half after that (11:00), I went back to the woman (Carole) who took my information and asked if there was any news on my car. Another man said "we have a shuttle if you want to be taken home." I wish I knew that 2 1/2 hours ago! I did go home. My husband called the service center at 12:30 and they said they would call him when the car was ready. At 3:45, my husband decided to call and find out what was happening with the car. They said the car was ready (when were they going to call me???) and they would let the shuttle driver know to pick me up and bring me to the service center. I finally made it to the service center and was told that the process of fixing the gauge was challenging and laborious (as if it was my fault) and that it was covered under warranty (of course, the car is not even 2 years old) so I owed nothing. What bothers me is that they made me sit there and wait when they knew it was going to take all day to fix; they did not bother to call me and let me know the car was ready for pick up; they did not apologize for wasting my time and not giving me details, my husband had to keep calling. I am disappointed in the lack of good customer service. I expect a lot better from Toyota!!!! I was told by a friend that since this was a warranty issue, the service center was not going to make any money and that is why I was not treated better. How sad for Toyota. I will not purchase another car from their dealership or use them for service in the future. By the way, the shuttle driver, Jeff was awesome! read more

Yesterday I visited Sparks Toyota and was greeted by Amanda Clinton. It was the most wonderful car buying experience and I did purchase a 2016 Avalon. I have been a Sparks customer since 2003 and just love Toyota vehicles. Amanda is a spectacular addition to the Sparks family--pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating. I was driving cross country and had a service light come on my car. I called the Toyota dealership and they took my car in for repair. After having the car for a day, they got back to me saying that there was a sensor out as well as my brakes needed to be done and several other things that I had not requested. After getting a quote for the repair of the brakes as well as a schedule, they called me to say they didn't have the part it would be done the next day. When I try to find out about the car the next day, I was put on hold and the call dropped several times for more than 30 minutes. I finally ended up going into the dealership to find out the repair was going to be $1300. Several of the things on the bill we're not authorized by me and nobody ever went over a detailed estimate of the cost. The service manager treated me very rudely and try to bully me into saying things that I didn't authorize. I would never again take my car into the dealership. If you do, get a written estimate before they do the work. read more

After the First visit to their Service Department I should have taken note. I was greeted by Billy, who treated me like a State Trooper writing me a citation... He was dismissive and did not let me finish a sentence when trying to explain problems with my Auto. All for a Toyota Care 10000 mile check-up. The next visit to the Service Department faired no better... After having Side Molding installed on my doors, I got into my Auto only to find that it had been rifled through, the phone holder in the Cup Holder had been moved and the tray in the Center Stack had been tossed. Obviously someone was looking for something and left it quickly. Likely if I am forced to visit the Service Department again, I will attempt to watch my Auto being serviced. If they don't let me I will not let them touch it again. I see on Yelp, I'm not alone in my assessment of their shoddy Service Department. read more

Do not use this dealership!! I took my 4 month old Tundra here to get a oil change (that I already paid for with toyota care) they said it was going to take a hour and half so i made an appointment and showed up early. I pulled my truck up in one of the service lanes and then was told to go to a different lane so i got back in my truck and moved it to the other lane. I got out and stood next to my truck, and watched 6 vehicles pull up get served before i was even acknowledged. Then the person who walked up to help me told me to walk over to her desk then proceed to take a phone call and leave me stand there for 15min. I asked someone else to help me because they were standing around. After my truck was checked in i asked if they had a courtesy car to take me to the mall, on the way to the mall the driver told me that I needed to call him at 5 because he was off at six. At 5 I called and was told they were on their way, i waited outside 45 mins. When i got back to the dealership I asked if my truck was done and the service writer said "uh i dont know" so i went to the checkout and the lady said oh yeah it was done a hour and half ago didn't they call you? I said no. So they handed me my keys and I walked out the door and said where do i get my car? Some guy said oh i guess ill go get it. On the way home I noticed a strange smell coming from the engine i opened the hood and saw that they spilled oil all over the engine, 2 days later I noticed an oil spot under my truck so i took it to a different dealership and they told me that the oil plug wasn't put on correctly so i lost almost 2 quarts of oil read more

Sparks Toyota has the worst service department I have ever had the "pleasure" of using. To many screw-ups to mention. So much so that yesturday I went and traded for a Chevrolet - just because of having to deal with servicing my 2007 Rav4 there. That ought to tell you something. read more

I don't know if Sparks' business model is intentionally based on ripping off vacationers from out of town, but my experience causes me to think that it's likely. While on vacation, the "check engine" light came on in my Totota pickup, so I called Sparks (they were about 20 miles away, but the closest dealership) and asked for an appointment. They said that they had no appointments available for a WEEK! but if i'd bring it in, they could take care of it. So, i did, and they diagnosed a bad gas cap, and charged me $33.75 for the gas cap and another $20.88 to install it. To install a gas cap! "check engine" light came back on, so i looked, and the gas cap had not been replaced. I called, talked to David Dodson, the service manager, and he wanted pictures. sent him pictures, he agreed that no replacement had occurred, though he had no idea how that could happen, and promised to send a check. After two weeks, the check had not arrived, so i call to remind him, and he said that he didn't know why, but the check had no been issued. A few days later, it came. By the way, for supplies/disposal, they charged me $15.00, which is about FIVE TIMES what i'm accustomed to seeing. As i said, i don't know if they systematically and intentionally rip you off, but a lot of stuff happens that they cannot explain, and none of it is in the customer's favor, by my experience. So, if you are forced to deal with these folks, be very, very attentive or you will likely get ripped off, intentionally or not. read more

I bought my vehicle here last November and had a great experience. It came with 2 years of oil changes and tire rotations I was told. Today at my 3rd oil change I was told it was actually 2 years OR 3 oil changes.. My appointment was at 1:45. I arrived at 1:20. On my previous two oil changes here it took on average an hour until I got my car back. This time after sitting in the waiting room for 90 minutes and seeing multiple people come after me and leave before me I went to check on my car. I was told that there was a leak in the oil plug and they had to order one?? but they had it now and my car should be ready in about 10 minutes. 30 minutes later as I'm still waiting another guy comes and tells me that they had to go out and get a special oil that GMC requires (I am at a Toyota dealership) because they didn't have any. I've had this appointment for a week so you would think they would be prepared, seeing that my car has been there before and they knew I was coming. After 2 hours and 20 minutes I finally get my car back. I'm driving home and notice my oil still says 21% and my tires were not filled with air even though the multi point checkpoint says they were each filled to 35. I called them and they said I could come back and they would reset the oil button but I was almost home, 35 minutes away. I am waiting to hear back to see if they actually even rotated the tires. Needless to say I will not be getting my car serviced here again. I will say everyone I spoke with was very nice but the actual service aspect was failing. read more
