Flew into Dillon, MT and was looking for a place to eat. Sparky's Garage was recommended. They said it was barbecue so I almost didn't go because I don't like barbecue. What a surprise, they had everything else on the menu you could possibly want as well as barbecue. I had a chicken Caesar salad. I tried a little bit of barbecue pulled pork that my wife had ordered. I was shocked I loved it. Next time I go back I'm going to have some barbecue. The atmosphere is awesome. They have old car's inside the building as well as a table set up in the back of an old pick up truck. However, the place is very clean and they have signs all over the wall related to a garage. Wow This place is incredible! Ok, first, restaurant is clean and service is stellar - fast, accurate, and super friendly. We ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich and a Sparky's Feast to share. The portions are huge!! Prices are perfectly fair. The BBQ chicken sandwich and stuffed baked potato brought noises out of our friend I have never heard before. He had this glazed look in his face and kept grunting happily. His words "this is the best BBQ chicken I have ever tasted in my life" and he meant them. The feast is ridiculous. We added a sausage because we wanted to taste everything and seriously? It was enough for three to four people. The chicken was, indeed, amazing. Super moist and tasty and just perfectly cooked. The brisket was to die for, especially with the original BBQ sauce. The pulled pork rocked it with the honey BBQ sauce. The sausage was super tasty and cooked crispy on the outside - I love that! The ribs' flavour was really accentuated by the sweet&sassy BBQ sauce. The sides were fine - mac & cheese and coleslaw. The corn bread was meh. They give free refills on orange juice! You guys must go!!!! Eat! It's fantastic! And this coming from people who not only have eaten BBQ all over the U.S., but also make it at home - the real stuff... Smoked and everything. Just go there. Unfortunately one star is due to a situation where we never even got the chance to give the place a try. We put our name on a waiting list and we're told it would be a 25 minute Wait. We waited... and waited... and waited watching others do the same for To go orders. There were plenty of open tables but it seems they did not have, or were not able to efficiently manage the staff to handle a restaurant at 60% capacity. Not only were they inefficient, some of the front desk staff were lackadaisical and didn't really seem to care if we or anyone else waited. At one point, I went to check on getting a table and was simply ignored by two employees. I've been a server and I understand being swamped, but from what we witnessed for 45Plus minutes was just inefficiency and resignation that they could not begin to serve their customers from some of the front desk staff. We were staying at nearby Southside RV Park, and walked over to Sparky's for dinner (it was hot out and neither of us wanted to cook, LOL!). We had an awesome meal... both specials. We had the prime rib (tender, delicious, and cooked to perfection), spare ribs (plenty of meat and really tasty) and shrimp (lightly battered and tender). We both ordered sweet potato fries and corn-on-the-cob for sides (both excellent) and it came with a corn bread muffin that was really light and tasty! Who'd have thought that this unassuming restaurant in a cute little town like Dillon would be so good?!?! Not us... but we were thrilled. A plentitude of varied and brightly colored "horseless carriage" repair items covering the inside of the restaurant will help revitalize eyes that are tired from driving on the long flat highway. The food, however, is not as shiny. I ordered pulled pork with a side salad - the salad came first in a separate bowl, leaving the pulled pork looking small and alone and when it came served later all by itself on a huge plate. Presentation aside, the pork was overly sweet and the texture somewhat cloying. Overall, though, not a bad place to stop on a long road trip. I left feeling fed. read more

The place really does look like it could be a garage or a junk shop, but don't pass it up if you're in the area. They've got great BBQ and burgers, and I think I've found my regular pit stop. Holy cow. This place has the best food in Dillon, hands down. It got to where I ate nearly every meal here - it was that good. I traveled for work 3+ years and was stationed in Dillon for 3 months in 2014, so believe I'm highly qualified to review "road" food. Staff are friendly and helpful - every one of them. Do you know how rare that is, in any establishment? Large variety on the menu, and everything I tried was yummy. Every. Thing. Great rotating local beer selection - this is why and where I fell in love with Beltian White (from Belt MT, of course). I can't find it in Western WA, which makes me sad. Respectable bar/hard alcohol selection. Few staff have actual bartender experience, but are willing to rework a drink to get it right. read more

You can tell this restaurant is a local favorite and for good reason. 4 stars is due to the long wait for the waitress to take our order. It boasts friendly wait staff, great food, a cool atmosphere with small town charm. Our food was fantastic and the locally brewed beer was great. Try the Beaverslide IPA! I ordered the buffalo wings and they were spicy (and fantastic)!! I like them that way so it wasn't a problem but it'd be helpful for future customers to be aware. This is a very nice restaurant. The food is good, the service is friendly and competent, and it is busy with locals and travelers. I would have rated it higher if the food portions were larger. I ordered the Brisket (the largest portion) and my wife ordered the combo of brisket and chicken breast. My brisket had 4 thin slices. My wife's combo had 2 thin brisket slices and 1 tiny chicken breast - never saw one so small. The sauce is a little too sweet for me, but that is personal preference read more

We both had the St. Louis ribs. They smoke their own. If you like your ribs so the meat just falls off the bone then you will love these. They are served dry with a basket of four sauces. We actually like our ribs so you chew the meat from the bone but we still enjoyed these ribs. The selection of sides is decent. Stopped to have lunch on our way back to Helena. Seemed like a fun place. Hostess seated in the bar area of the restaurant. Bartender was slammed but the rest of the restaurant wasn't that busy so I'm not sure why they seated us there. Took fooorever to get the waitress to our table. Not her fault. When we finally ordered and got some attention she was very nice. When the food came it wasn't worth eating. The philly cheese steak had dried up meat no toppings and bread was hard as a rock. Literally!!! I pounded the bread on the table to show the waitress. And everybody looked over to see this bread that wouldn't break. I tried to eat some meat before giving up. I showed the waitress my 9/10 sandwich that was uneaten and she said she would give us 10% off. Not worth the fight to get it taken off the bill or wait for a new one. Yelp review is what I decided instead. We will not be back to Dillion for this restaurant. I guess I'll stop at a fast food place for lunch to get some food on our way out of town. I haven't explored the fare of Dillon much but this seems to be a decent place here. I'd give it a 3.5. I got the pulled pork and catfish. For some reason that combo really sounded good to me. The pork was Not really greasy, which I've had before and which makes it a gut bomb. The spicy sauce mixed with the honey BBQ sauce was good and the pork was cooked well, it just wasn't seasoned with a rub or really marinated in anything which kinda makes one rely solely on the BBQ sauce for BBQ flavor. So you have to drench it in sauce. It tasted good but it wasn't great BBQ, especially since I've had BBQ in Austin. I'm now ruined to less than great BBQ joints. The catfish was breaded okay Didn't taste mushy like a lot of probably frozen catfish I've had. Also, after eating full catfish in east Texas I kind of have a higher standards so for Montana it's pretty good I guess. I don't remember what my mom got. I guess it wasn't memorable, but you could definitely do worse for food in this town. I'd definitely give it a try if you're in town. Also, to be fair, the BBQ I had last year when we came to Dillon and stopped here was better. So maybe it's the day. read more

Service was good but took about an hour and a half to get in and out. Atmosphere was excellent. I felt they were dragging their feet to serve us but nice and accommodating when served. Yes honestly this is a very pricey place to eat if you are looking for cheap but it is very good food and very good service try the corn bread it is amazing! Decent spot for a quick bite in Dillon! We were on our way to Swan Lake and stopped for the night in Dillon. We were all pleased with the food. I got brisket, macaroni and a backed potato. It was decent for a small town dinner. I really did love that macaroni and cheese though. Quite tasty! Son said his burger was good. Good stop, price is right. So, my review consists of points in, presense, time, delivery, appearance, and taste, 1rst presence is great old time feel from the 50s through 60s, 2nd,time it took to get seated, no time at all immediate seating, waitress responded quickly, and order taken, 3rd delivery of drinks was an B at best my alcoholic sparkys lemonade was filled with ice with literally 3 sips of alcohol, not impressed maybe less ice for future drinks would be better, food was delivered quickly, 4th it looked great and tasted better!!! But.... give people more alcohol if youre going to charge 7.50 for a drink for 3 sips of alcohol, that was severely upsetting. Thanks read more
