We came here on the recommendation of the KOA camp manager. Husband had the baby back ribs, Cole slaw and beans and all was fantastic! I had the pulled pork and Mac n cheese. Pork was very dry and Mac n cheese was just ok. I was bummed but he was happy! Staff was great and personable. read more

Very good food and a large variety. Portions are good size and everything was seasoned very well. We had a reservation for 33 people for over 2 weeks and they called the day of only 4 hours before our reservation and cancelled it. They stated there never should have been a reservation made by their staff. I spoke to restaurant 3 times earlier in the week. Wow, where to begin...service was slow, food was slow, waiter promised us free drinks for being patient, then charged us for them, then argued with me when I reminded him he was comping the drinks. Fried green tomatoes were terrible and my BLT was served with no mayo, which as anybody knows, completes the BLT. Great beer selection with over 20 craft beers on tap, many of them local and rotational! They also have a full bar, but to be honest we didn't look past the beer list. The food was just ok, standard BBQ fair. We had a burger that was good well seasoned and didn't need condiments and fries, nothing extra special. And beef brisket and pulled pork with the trimmings. Great portions super tender brisket pork a little dry. What sets this place apart are the BBQ sauces! Sweet n saucy and the honey sauce and the spicy mustard are amazing! This place is fun. It makes me think T.G.I.Fridays and Applebees had a genius love child that serves decent BBQ. Or maybe I was just hungry. Really hungry. This is a great place for families or big groups as it's spacious and has a lot to look at while you are waiting. If you have anywhere to be in the same day don't bother wasting your time at a table, thirsty hungry and angry, like we did at this embarrassment of a restaurant. There are a couple ways to handle your business when you are busy and this was the poorest example of that I have ever experienced . We arrived at 12:28 and left at 2:46 . We had to wait extremely long periods of time between getting our drinks . From the time it took to have the waitress to check on our empty glasses to the time it took to have drinks delivered from the bar it was at least 15 minutes and at one point 30 . We ordered our appetizers at 1245 and they finally arrived at 2 . That's right . And hour and 15 minutes later . After mentioning the long wait to our server she said "oh yea the kitchen is behind" she returned 10 minutes later and offered cornbread or side salad. Had that been what I wanted I would have ordered it in the first place . At least the food was hot but holy crap . Upon arrival a simple "hey our kitchen is understaffed/busy" whatever would have been appreciated. Knowing to receive an entree would be over an hour and a half would have been a great heads up. In addition to waiting for food the bar service is another issue. If you know the kitchen is backed up then make sure your table is happy . Don't wait to check on them till they look upset and are looking for you . Offer to buy them a round even , something ! Anything! It would have also been appreciated to have a manager doing table touches to ensure people aren't upset about the wait times . Acknowledging that there are issues make so much of a difference and could have turned our experience around . Our food finally arrived at 224 . 2 hours after we arrived , as tables next to us realized the insane wait times they proceeded to leave as they were told at least another 45 minutes having been there for 30 already . We will NEVER return to this establishment! We would have had better service at a Taco Johns then this disgrace of a restaurant. We could have ordered 10 dominos pizzas from downtown Butte and they could have been delivered by bicycle faster than this trash. I'm appalled by the service, having to ask where our drinks are half of the time is completely unnecessary. If you do end up deciding to try this place out, let me know and I'll place your order for you while I sit here so maybe by chance it's ready when you arrive a week or month later. In regards to the food it was average , blue cheese dressing was good but everything else lacked in flavor other than salt. Our parents mentioned having eaten there in the previous week and falling ill so maybe we should have asked their advice prior to this mess. If you feel like sitting there thirsty and can waste an entire day this is the place for you . read more

BBQ Brisket, pulled pork, and ribs with sides: mash potatoes (choice of white or brown gravy - it was at this point I knew they were a serious BBQ place), coleslaw, and a veggie - everything was FANTASTIC. We have a weakness for brisket so that was our favorite. Sides were surprisingly good - not just an afterthought. NOTE: there are two Sparky's (hence the name) but only ONE phone number on their website (for their Dillon, MT location about an hour away). I didn't realize I had ordered takeout at their Dillon restaurant while I was driving to their Butte restaurant. Butte's dining scene is rather limited in its variety but it does offer some decent American fare (yes, and a decent selection of Irish pub grub too). We found ourselves at Sparky's in hopes of a good burger and a cold beer on a patio, and they delivered just that. The garage-turned-grill is not a novel concept but the décor here really takes it over the top, which make for a fun and playful backdrop for a mid-afternoon meal. I went here with a bit of trepidation, because I went with one of my nephews, (the one who lives in Butte) and he suggested it by saying that it wasn't too bad by Butte standards. I ended up thinking the place was pretty good. I'm not sure if "Sparky" ever had a garage here, but it's in a building that looks like it could be an old garage, and it's loaded up with lots of car and gas station memorabilia, along with a lot of other general memorabilia. Somebody went to a lot of time and expense to collect and assemble it all. The food was pretty good, but not the best BBQ I've ever had. The taste of the brisket and the ribs were both very good but the ribs were a bit dry. You get several sauces to chose from, but none of them were so good that I was tempted to get a bottle to go. Who'd have thought I'd have such a delicious pork belly in the middle of Montana?! The restaurant/bar itself is decorated like an old gas station & made it a fun dining experience. The staff was friendly too. We ordered the pork belly as an appetizer & it was cooked just right, crispy on the edges & just right in the middle. It came with coleslaw that was just like I like it, not too mayonnaise-y. We shared the pulled pork as an entree with sweet potato fries & the pork was cooked just right with a variety of bbq sauces to choose from. If you are used to going to the one in Dillon but have found yourself in Butte, turn yourself right around and go to the good one. This was the worst meal I've had in a very long time. I'm about 90% certain the waitress forgot about our order and let it sit. It came out lukewarm, and by the time we got our food it had been 45 minutes of waiting. We saw her face maybe 3 times the whole hour and a half we were there. Cajun fish and chips...no. No Cajun. It was so loaded with grease I felt like I needed to go home and put a butter knife to my face to scrape off excess grease before cleaning with a wash cloth. I took a few bites of it and decided not to eat it. Waitress gave us 50% off the plate. My husband's chicken tenders were a kids meal. So so so tiny. DONT get that if you're hungry. I truly love the one in Dillon. It's so awesome. This place is doing Dillon an injustice. So why does this place have good reviews? Go through and look at the spotty reviews. You have several bad ones throughout the good ones. I believe there is a group of friends keeping the ratings up for this one, or locals that like this as a bar to hang out at. I have no idea why you see 4 stars when you pull it up on Yelp. It's inaccurate though. read more
