As one of the area's more recognized chains, the Sparky's experience varies from location to location. This on in Damascus is a sleepier than most, with casual service and unfortunately, extremely doughy pizza. There is no seating here, so takeout is the name of the game. Order online or over the phone, the prices are going to feel steep for the pizza one is getting. They are among the only pizzerias that offer slices, which are a bit north of $5, which was exorbitant just post-pandemic, but seemingly normal now. The pizza itself leaves a lot to be desired. Their "giant" 18 inch pizza is really just an extra large, but is priced at something much more. The crust is thick to a point where the only thing more noticeable is the copious amounts of cheese and toppings. It's not remarkable pizza, but in this part of town, this is likely as good as it gets. Service is a thumbs up. The college age students are courteous on the phone and good about making sure things are made in a timely manner. I used the online ordering from their website and paid $31.00 for a large specialty pizza with a free Hawaiian large pizza per their "special". When my husband got there to pick it up (yes this was a pickup not delivery) they said it was an additional $12.00 for the Hawaiian pizza. Why in the world would I pay $43.00 for 2 pizzas??!! The girl at the counter said their online ordering system doesn't work very good. Sparky s owner---if your ordering system doesn't work, then remove it!!! Beware of snarky customer service and a very bizarre online ordering system. They ended up double charging us by making us pay at the location when we had already prepaid online. They made the order backwards and even forgot our ranch sauce. We called to see if we could correct it and was told it was our fault for how we ordered. When I explained how the system doesn't make sense on the setup for their coupon combo and they may wanna know, she got defensive immediately and told me it's not their fault that's how the system is set up and put the error completely on us. Hooray for olive oil BBQ chicken and breadsticks that have an old, oily taste. I will never bring my business here again. Absolutely abysmal experience overall. read more

Sparky's is in an unassuming strip mall on the 212. It is pretty easy to miss, so if you're looking to visit, keep a keen eye out. Sparky's is very small, and has no tables. They're basically a take-out establishment, so if you're looking to dine-in, you're better off going elsewhere. Their pizza is better than average, and the service is generally fast and friendly. There are some good values on their "specials" menu above the cash register. The dough is good and chewy, and has more flavor than most of its competitors do. It is FAR better than any of the chains, so if you live in the general vicinity, I'd recommend them. read more

Had a craving for pizza but wanted to give a new place a try so started browsing though Postmates to see what was available. Found this place and looked it up on Yelp to see how everything looked. Pictures looked good so I fired off my order and I wasn't disappointed. I've found that some of the non-big named places usually have crust issues. Was recommended to try this place from a friend. Called in and ordered the giant a half cheese/pepperoni. Picked it up and opened the box to a complete disappointment. At first glance I was wondering if they ran out of pepperoni or if someone got hungry and picked it off of my pizza. The tomato sauce also lacked flavor. Paid $19 for this and couldn't help but think Costco pizza was not only a better value but taste way better. Came from out of town to go camping. We knew first night we would go get pizza for dinner. Saw the reviews and thought let's give it a chance. We all enjoyed the pizza really well. Especially for a smaller town. Super hot and we all agreed that it wasn't the best pizza we had but a lot better than most chain pizza places! We will definitely come back when we go camping again and we would tell people to go here too! There were 6 of us who all gave a thumbs up! The worst pizza I have eaten. We got a half Hawaiin and half pepperoni. The toppings were smeared across as if they made it, threw it sideways and then baked it. So the pepperoni side was less than 1/3 of the pizza total. The crust was chewy and rubbery. We also got bread shticks- they were completely bare. No parmesan (I don't mean not enough, literally NONE) and most didn't even have any butter. They tasted like raw yeasty dough. Steer clear of this place. read more

I want to say I love Sparky's. I really do. We used to eat there once a week as a family. But we stopped. The problem with this particular location (Damascus) is that it is inconsistent. One week, our pizza would be perfect. Next week, the bottom of the crust would be badly burnt. The next week, the crust would be fine, but the toppings would be lacking. The next week, the entire order would be wrong. Sadly, I'm not making this up. I will still go to Sparky's in Sandy, or on MLK when I'm in that part of town. The pizza for the entire chain is a great deal for the money. Happy hour (1 hour before closing at many locations) is worth it for a slice. But when I am home, my family asks that we order elsewhere. If I read that these issue have been taken care of, I'm willing to go back and try them again. read more

I have been going to the Damascus Sparky's for a number of years now. They have always been a good solid pizza place not far from my home. There is something like 4 or 5 other pizza shops closer than Sparky's but they just are not as good. Anyway, I was feeling the Sparky's and looking around at the online menu, I typically would get the Midtown Classic, the Chicago or a simple Pepperoni & Mushroom. But I saw something that I am pretty sure is new, as in like new May 2016 new. A pizza called "The Roast", from the "Pizza on Tour" section of the menu. It is whole clove roasted garlic, pepperoni, salami, and Mozzarella. I was curious and gave it a try. That pizza just opened a whole new angle to Sparky's. I am not sure if I will order anything other than "The Roast" for a long time. This pizza does not appear on the paper menu. I have only seen it online. But I have got it from Damascus Sparky's on May 30th 2016. I wish I could get another online only listing called "The Brooklyn" Pepperoni, Linguica, cherry peppers. But alas, every Sparky's that I have tried gives me a puzzled look when I ask for that one. It is the Linguica, they don't have it, and otherwise they would make me one. I was half expecting to be told the same when I ordered "The Roast". Anyways, a prior reviewer mentions "The Roast", and includes an accurate photo of what it looks like. I highly recommend that pizza. Like most people in America, I have eaten a fair share of pizza in my life, and this one stood out as one of the best tasting pizzas ever. Sparky's has been a favorite because of the crust, crunchy chewy, and big enough to have "Bones", but not too big of bones that you feel cheated on toppings. The sauce is seasoned just enough to let you know it is there, and all the meats, cheeses and veggies have always been good quality. Put all together on even a pepperoni & mushroom pie, and it's better than most, but I am not kidding about "The Roast". It was just so awesome that I am putting down 400 words in a praise-a-thon about it. We have ordered from Sparky's in Damascus a two times now. We ordered the same pizza each time. First time the pizza was everything you could ask for. The crust was nice and crispy outside, soft inside. Sause tasted fresh and natural. The rest of the toppings fresh and tasty. The second time ordering the pizza was a little disappointing. The center of the pizza was soggy and the cheese and toppings separated from the crust. Overpriced for the quality. Not bad pizza, just not the best. This is the closest pizza to my house and that's about the only reason I'll ever come here. The girls at the counter were friendly, the guy I talked to on the phone explained things to me in a very unclear way. Also, the pizza I ordered wasn't supposed to have any veggies but I found a mushroom on it... I understand that's not the biggest deal, but you should be paying attention to what ends up on the pizza you're making to give to the customer. I also know my mother refuses to go here because they messed up her order a while back, and refused to correct the order.
