We just recently discovered Sparrow's Pizza. I agree with another reviewer on here that said Richmond pizza is lacking. Sparrow's is an awesome find. It's great value and just a solid pizza. We've never had a bad one. It's very consistent and you know what you are getting every time. It's awesome they deliver to us too. We don't have any good delivery options, but now we have Sparrow's. FYI, they have green olives too which is a plus. I know it sounds weird but pepperoni and green olive pizza is delicious. Just ordered today and it got to my house ridiculously fast. It was like burn your face off hot, one bite everybody knows the rules. I think Dave would say it's a good football pizza. The crust isn't too big and bready. It's not crispy, but the crust has a nice "chew" to it. It's good hot, cold, warm. I would say it's my current go to for a regular pizza. read more

My pizza was a half 4 cheese half pepperoni. Maybe a bad combo as the oils made the entire thing super greasy, also found the sauce lacked any flavor. The cheesesticks where a bit better but still nothing better then a chain. Not a bad place, if I was having a football party I could see myself ordering this. Thanks to Yelp reviews, I ordered pizza and salad from here during a visit to Richmond. The employees were very friendly, and it smelled so good! The pizza and salad were also very good though the pizza was a little soggy on the bottom part. It could be because of the time between picking it up and getting it home. OMGosh their Greek Salad is HUGE and FRESH, the garlic knots are soft and buttery and the cheese pizza I ordered was good as well. If you're in the near west end, you need to give this place a try. I am a pizza lover and have tried most places in Richmond. Sparrow's is up there at the top of my list now. I ordered a half cheese and half pepperoni/green pepper. The crust was spot on - not too doughy and not too crunchy. The sauce tasted fresh and bright. The amount of cheese was spot on and the toppings tasted great. I would compare this to Belmont pizza, another favorite of mine. The crust is a little thicker than Belmont's. We didn't try any of the appetizers so can't speak to those. The location is tucked away behind the Mexico Restaurant and near the slew of Vietnamese restaurants off Horsepen. I don't know if you can actually eat in the restaurant but they do deliver. This is a hidden gem. We'll definitely be ordering again. read more

Great American Pizza! We stopped by and ordered a couple of pies on July 4th. Best pizza I have had in a long time. It was baked right on the floor of the oven and delivered perfect crispy bottom with a little char, and tasty top. They must use good ingredients. It tasted great and didn't leave me with that "I wish I hadn't had that last slice" feeling. They have two small tables, but it's not really set up for dining. Do takeout or delivery. You might not think it, but I'd order again simply for the Caesar salads with chicken - they were outstandingly delicious! The garlic knots were also pretty darn good - so many actual chunks of garlic. I discovered Sparrows through a FB group. It was highly recommended so I gave them a try. Now I've ordered 3 times. Each time the pizza has been consistent, the delivery fast and a great value. It is no Mary angelas but it is on point for the price point. IMO better than dominos and the Papa. All and all great pizza for the price. read more

We won't be back. Something changed with the quality of the food. Might be the conveyor oven used now. Pizza came out the oven burnt on the outside. tough, doughy and extremely chewy. Cheese was tough and chewy as well and hard to swallow. Cheese Sticks had very little cheese and were burnt as well. My husband and I have been in Richmond for a couple months on business I have relied on yelp reviews to be able to find great places to eat and we have. But we had not tried any pizza till now. Since we leave tomorrow we decided to order pizza delivered. I read the yelp reviews of Sparrows and decided to go with them. We ordered small pepperoni pizza and the cinnamon knots desert. I'm not the pizza fan but my husband really liked it. I did too. We especially liked the crust. Now the cinnamon knots..... first there is a lot of them, drizzled with this wonderful cream cheese frosting! AND more frosting to dip.
