My normal go to sit down Italian spot was closed so I did a quick Google search and landed here #cabreraspizza a cool and clean little spot in a strip mall on Robious Rd and CFF's it did not disappoint! Our waitress Johanna is the absolute best she is very engaging and helped us navigate through their menu of Italian delights and shared some of her favorites! So we opted to try their Meat Lover's pizza (loaded with toppings and served piping hot on a perfectly baked crust 5/5), steak and cheese and fries (the roll gave homemade but if not it surely did taste super fresh and yummy paired with the very well seasoned steak and fresh toppings, fries also served piping hot 4.4/5) and their Penne with Pink Vodka sauce where I added sliced fried chicken cutlets (ok so it was a bit drier than I would prefer but the pasta was cooked well and the sauce was so tasty with a little kick, maybe next time leave the cutlets whole to keep from drying out and add more sauce but other than that we enjoyed the dish 3.4/5) oh the pasta dishes are served with house salad and I opted for their homemade house dressing and rolls (all rated 3/5). I recently decided to a new place to try for chicken parmesan. Cabrera's was it and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered directly from the restaurant's website rather than through a delivery service, and that choice regrettably led to multiple issues. I placed my order at 6:18 PM and received a text confirming it was being prepared with an estimated delivery window of 6:53-7:03 PM. At 6:39 PM, I received another text stating my order was out for delivery. However, by 7:05 PM, my order had still not arrived, so I called the restaurant to inquire. The woman who answered initially said, "Oh, it just left," and when I questioned why I had received a text indicating otherwise, she apologized and repeated, "Oh, my mistake. It did leave." I did not receive my order until 8:00 PM. The delivery person never came up to my floor, and when she finally called, she claimed she couldn't park--despite available space directly in front of my building. I had tipped generously when placing the order. When I finally retrieved the food, the quality was UNACCEPTABLE. The CHICKEN was HARD and TOUGH, clearly NOT FRESH, and it appeared that reheating it with cheese in the oven had been used as a fix. Overall, the meal was far below the standard I expected. Now I don't know what the other menu items quality is but the chicken parm ain't it. First time at a new restaurant. I was very pleased. Cabreras is in a strip mall off Midlothian Turnpike and Robious Road. I really love pizza, so I'm a little bit finicky when it comes to pizza. I was pleasantly surprised at Canreras. It is a very small restaurant. I think only 10 4-tops. I got mine to go so I don't know what it was like to eat inside. I ordered online and received my order in about 18 minutes. The woman at the front was very nice and quickly turned to the back to grab my order. So, the pizza! I just got a large pepperoni and a cheese calzone. The pizza was very good sized and was in a solid box. There were ample pepperoni's on the pizza. The cheese was also sufficient to cover the entire pizza. I saw no sauce lol. The taste was excellent. I believe it is styled to be New York pizza and it definitely did it justice. Although the crust was a little thicker than traditional NY Pizza is was still excellent. Great taste and great crust. I will definitely be back for more. The calzone was also delicious. By chance I ended up in this part of town, and decided to take a chance on this little pizza and Italian place. Our party had the mozzarella sticks, a large cheese pizza, and the steak and cheese hoagie. I would recommend all three, though the dipping sauce for that mozzarella sticks was a bit weak. The steak and cheese was very good as described on the menu and my daughter, who is quite picky about her pizza, would definitely eat that pizza again. The young lady who took our order, was super friendly, and wanted to ensure that everything was OK with our meal. What a disappointment. I am Italian from N.Y. And I know I'm not gonna get northern pizza in Midlo. But wow, we threw ours out after 1 slice each. The sauce is salty, ketchup like, with no herbs or flavor. It tastes like institutional tomato sauce from a can. The crust is tough, chewy, dry and flavorless. It tastes frozen. I have been wanting to try Cabrera's pizza for a while now since it moved in very close to where I work. I placed an order online and went to pick it up, The whole process was extremely simple and easy. Cabrera's Pizza is a small little restaurant with tables so you can definitely dine-in. It is nothing fancy, but it is not a hole-in-the-wall either. Everything was nice and clean and friendly employees. It is located in a smallish shopping center where Robious and Midlothian intersect, where Planet Fitness and Total Wine are located. I ordered the Cabrera's calzone, which is the simplest of calzone with ricotta cheese and mozzarella. This really brought me back to the days when I lived in New York, It was very cheesy and had a good amount of ricotta. It wasn't overly greasy, but it had that little bit of "juice" that says this is a great NY style Calzone. This really made me want to try their pizza, which I fully intend to do very soon. I have had several bad experiences with Cabrera's. They delivered to me for years, and suddenly told me that I was out of their delivery area. I was told "f-you very much " by Hillary via phone. I had a problem with my phone and the wrong delivery item went through, so I called & she said Marvin, the owner, refused to resend my order unless I paid again. I just wanted them to send me the correct item that I ordered, because it was a mistake with my phone, but they did NOT understand this when I called. Time for another review! This time it's Cabrera's Pizza. Since this was a delivery order, I can only speak for the food. And the word I would use to describe the pizza I had is delicious!! I am a huge fan of NY style pizza. Crispy outer crust and a thin, foldable bottom crust with a touch of crunch! I had the Supreme and added anchovies (I know, but I love them). Aside from the perfect crust, the sauce was amazing. Often times pizza sauce is too sweet. This sauce was great. Not at all sweet but also not acidic/bitter. A generous amount of cheese makes me glad a didn't order extra cheese, which I usually do. I think extra cheese would have ruined it. There are too many good flavors going on here, not to be muted by too much cheese. Generous toppings lay on top. Most pizza places, when using anchovies, put only one fish per slice. So disappointed! We've ordered from here before with our issue but tonight they missed the mark. I ordered a penne vodka with chicken that is supposed to come with a side salad. And then a garden salad which said "fresh greens". While I was on the phone with GrubHub complaining the description of the garden salad changed! The 3 pickled bean salad that comes on top the garden salad is NOT freshly cooked (as their new description says) and if you aren't into pickles your entire salad is ruined by this bean salad being served on top of your fresh greens. GROSS! Also the order from grub hub was supposed to include a house salad and when I called them to question it, the girl had a total attitude with me and told me to call the driver (cause he stole my small side salad?!?!?) Stopped in to this little place for a quick lunch. Ordered the Philly cheesesteak and it was fantastic. . The bread is thin and almost like a thin pizza dough.
