Got takeout here on a Friday night. Based on a review below, we ordered online and it was easy. The food was ready fast, so that was a plus. The pizza was a little on the soggy side, but not bad enough to not eat. It's not exactly NY style, but close. The sauce was well balanced - not too sweet, not too acidic, and there were ample toppings. Where they lost me was the Caprese. If it's on the menu, I'm ordering it. This was slices of fresh mozzarella, covered in chopped (not sliced), tomatoes. I'm assuming they grabbed from the same prep that they use for salads or on pizzas. That wasn't the issue. I can live with cut up tomatoes - I'm going to do that to eat it anyway. And yes, there was a good balsamic drizzle on it, as well. Where they went sideways, was the basil. Not fresh basil, mind you, but it was sprinkled with dried basil. Who does that?! Fresh basil is what makes the tomatoes sing in a caprese. No seasoning either. A little salt and pepper would have been appreciated. Finally the garlic knots were way undercooked, doughy and close to raw in the middle. One thing I did like is that you can choose either marinara or garlic to dip with them. There are several pizza places around here, as I saw on Yelp. Whether you're vegan, gluten-free, or straight up omnivore, these guys have a pizza for you. The owner is friendly and interested in customer service. The pizzas are pretty good, the garlic knots are even better. Slightly pricey if you're feeding a bunch of teenage boys like I have to do. If it's just like you and a date, it's a better value. This pizza restaurant does not take orders over the phone. You call and say you want to place an order and you're put on hold until you give up. I was on hold last night for over 10 minutes. I finally went there because the online order kept messing up and not giving me the order I wanted in the "build your own" category. That's why I called in the first place. I figured that they would be jammed with orders when I arrived, which would explain not getting back with me to take my order. Nope. Totally empty with the employees standing around doing nothing. And this was just 10-15 minutes after I hung up. I like their pizza, but I won't be back. There are a lot of pizza restaurants nearby. I'm left wondering if the owner has ever heard of a concept called customer service. If I were rating the pizza, it would be a 4 or 5, but no pizza is worth the total lack of customer service. read more

Looking for a good pizza and BAM! We found it, right on Route 1 close to Route 54. It's nothing at all fancy, but that worked for us, the white pizza was a home run! We told the Larry it was actually better than the one at Mama Zu's but then they are no longer in business due to the Covid pandemic. Made me sick Expensive, they are barely cooked (still raw), almost like microwaved, kinda rubbery texture, smell disgusting, they are horrible and inedible . I called about them and got some vapid story instead of actually caring about what I said. Theres not much to explain, or justify when it comes to wings. 45 minute quote took 1 hr 20 mins at 6:30 on a Saturday. Order taker and driver very friendly. 14" Pepi pizza and small chef salad overcharged $29.24 (before tip). Salad was good. We ordered the pizza and wings for delivery and used a coupon. The pizza is a little pricey without one. Pizza was pretty good, sauce had good flavor, decent amount of cheese and pepperoni. Crust seemed like it was a little underdone. A little more grease on the pie than I would have liked. Still, the pizza is above average for Richmond. The wings were all right, decent size, not real crispy though. Again it's very hard to find even decent wings in Richmond so these were all right. I'd be interested to try them again and see maybe if the bake on the pie comes out a little more well-done next time. read more

Not what I'm here to complain about though. :) This place has the WORST customer service ever, and the management is ridiculously rude. I ordered a vegan cheese pizza (like I normally do) and it tasted HORRIBLE this time. I called and asked if they changed it and the young man on the phone said no. He gave me attitude and said "what do you want me to do about it?" I simply told him "Make me another one or give me my money back". I don't like this place. The pizza is ok but nothing fancy. I really want to use them as I want to support local small businesses however I can not. They are overpriced for the quality of food served. Also they do not listen to their customers. I have called regarding their drivers speeding in the neighborhood. Had a tough time choosing the stars for this one because this really is a interesting Ashland spot. The Great - place is super clean, they will tour their kitchen if you ask, and it's the highest hygiene standard I've seen at a pizza place The Great - the food is amazon taste wise, fresh and flavorful pizza and sides. The desserts are unique and also delicious. The best pizza I've ever had is the Pepi The meh - the place is mostly for carry out and delivery. Limited eat in space and what is available is not the best dine in experience. The meh - the prices are higher then other local competitors, however the pizza quality and restaurant quality is also higher. Get what you pay for, but expect to pay. The bad - customer service is very very hit or miss. Sometimes consumers are treated with great manners, speed, and respect. The manager and owner are both great to talk with and go out of their way to make you happy. However, some staff is very rude, I've personally been called a idiot for calling to ask about the status of my delivery when it had been 85 minutes. I've also been enjoying my amazing meal and had employees talk about how annoying or "retarded" the customer just was on the phone. All in all I give the place 5 stars, because at the end of the day I go for taste, quality, and hygiene.
