I've been here a few times for various services. While the service itself is usually not bad, the customer service is usually lacking. I've been incorrectly booked for a hair appointment, have appointments that don't run on time and, after my most recent visit, they apparently overbook their staff. I go to the Londonderry location for deep tissue massage. My therapist, Hemesa, is FANTASTIC. She gives a wonderful massage after taking the time to talk with you and hear your concerns. She is very personable and considerate. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

First time trying this spa. I had mani pedi. I waited in the chair alone for 25 mins while my water went cold and feet pruned. She did not trim cuticles on toes or fingers. AT all. Just pushed them back. I had to redo when I got home. Also she would not exfoliate because apparently I shaved my legs the day before. She was also running in and out doing other treatments on other people so I was left alone A LOT my toe nails were trimmed at different lengths. For $100 (no gel, not cuticle trimming, no callus removal) and being there for 2.5 hours, it was a waste of money amd time. I gave it a 2 star only because it was somewhat clean. But that said, the manicure table was visually dusty and I saw a nail clipping on the lamp base. read more

Received a gift certificate for Spasation. Booked an appointment for a hair cut... I was offered tea and promptly seated with a hairdresser. She was cheefrul and kind, but did not really listen to what I wanted. I specifically stated I didn't want wispy layers as I have thin hair and that makes curl tend to frizz... I only wanted chunky layers or no layers at all. Well... within a second she had a razor out and had started layering my hair exactly how I didn't want it. There was no point... it all had to be done, so I just let her do her thing. At the end, she must have mentioned her name to me 3 times to ensure I would "book" with her again. Overpriced and I didn't receive what I asked for... Alas, another bad haircut that will take some time to grow out! I realize that each service received is individual and my rating of the salon cannot possibly reflect the service everyone would receive here... but this was my experience and I don't plan on returning. I have gone to Spasation many times and tried to give them the benefit of the doubt on numerous occasions but it is clear that the staff hired aren't experienced enough or are simply careless because I've had my share of bad experiences. I've had brows plucked too thin, overly darkened with dye, a terrible pedicure, and microdermabrasion experiences. My mom has gone to this same location and had similar woeful experiences in the salon. The final straw was last time I went (this past Tue) out of convenience sake, to get my brows waxed. They ripped my skin right off or burnt me because I have a very red sore patch under my right brow since I had this done. I felt something uncomfortable after the waxing when she was tweezing that felt raw but didn't really notice the aftermath until the regular redness from waxing went down. It's painful to the touch and hard to believe I paid for this experience. read more

I had my first professional waxing done at this location, and I am never going back. The waiting room was very nice, but even the sophisticated dim lighting, well-stocked magazine rack and tranquil music cannot make up for the extremely poor service and disorganization I experienced. Don't get me wrong, hair removal is never a pleasant experience and I WAS expecting the worst. But having visited other spas since, I now see how Spasation PALES in comparison. My waxer was the opposite of personable. She made a rather offensive comment towards the beginning of the session, and her technique was very poor (at the time, I thought all waxings were that miserable. Needless to say, they are not). She only used soft wax (as opposed to a combination of hard & soft wax), which caused unnecessary pain and compromised the end result. Her waxing also drew blood - something that I have NOT experienced since. On top of all that, I was treated rather rudely at the reception desk. If you want the best hair colouring or hair cut job done in a safe and clean environment, come to the Londonderry Spasation. Every staff member there is professional and skilled in whatever they do. Friendly, approachable and eager to listen and making you feel welcome. The hairstylist I had Irene is amazing. She transformed my chemically treated blond to a perfect balayage. She took her time, listened and looked at the pictures I brought of the style I wished to achieve and did a superb job. The manager was very friendly and he always takes time to great the customers and inquire if there is anything else he can be helpful with. My Daughters gave my wife a gift certificate for a hair styling and cut. Now my Wife is very busy due to work and family (for which she will bend over backwards for) she had been looking forward to her appointment which was today at 2:45. So with book in hand containing the style she wanted, she left for her appointment at the Londonderry Mall location. Now my wife has been growing her hair for a very long time to the point it was below her waist.The "stylist" was asked if she knew how to cut extremely natural curly hair to which she was told yes. She told the "stylist" that she only wanted no more than 6" taken off the back (which would have put her hair, when dry, just at or above her waist). My Wife was also told that the style she wanted would not be a problem. Well, there is a reason that I am writting this review and not my wife as she is embarrassed and extremely upset as not only did the "stylist" Not, give her the style she wanted but cut off so much hair that now it's dry, it is above her Elbows!!! When measured it amounts to just over 15". My Wife also had a colouring done to have her hair back to it's original colour (age can wreak havoc on hair colour) the colour was the only thing that turned out, although it would have been better if her brand new $60 peach coloured shirt and her jeans didn't receive the same colouring treatment. I went to the Londonderry Mall Spasation to talk to the General Manager or any Manager on duty regarding my Wife's experience. Found out no Manager is on duty. When asked what it was regarding I explained the problem, as it turns out the "stylist" was still there. The "stylist" explained that she took off (showed me with her fingers) a little less than 2", asked my wife how that was and was told to take off a little more (again she showed me with her fingers) that she again took off a little less than 2". She then began arguing that it was impossible for her to have removed 15 + inches off hair and that when when dry was again impossible to be above her elbows and that she had a witness that would back her up. She then turned her back and walked away. The girls at the front counter informed me there was nothing that could be done and I could contact their head office the next day. I went here for a massage and will never go back. Was treated nicely coming in, the atmosphere is good. However, it is noisy as hell. If you want a relaxing and quiet massage do not go here. I was assured when booking that it would be quiet, because I was concerned (it being in a mall and all) but again was told it was quiet. You could hear everything. Not only were the staff in the halls loud, you could hear clicking heels, yelling kids, all the mall noise was heard through the paper thin walls. I asked to move to a different room because I couldn't relax and it was still loud. The massage therapist was very new, not even fully licensed because she was still a student, yet I had asked for someone experienced when I booked. Book elsewhere. I went here for a massage in March 2022, at the londonderry mall branch and a certain therapist assigned to me called Nylar Arob led me into my room and asked to change then lay in the bed covered, and I said ok. She left the room and came back few minutes later asking "are you ready? " while already opening the door knob. Since I was practically naked just on my way to the bed , I answered "not ready" and I heard her reply with rage saying "you are not what ?" Followed by silence, then later someone from the front desk came and started to talk to me condescendingly, and told me they got a complaint of making noise on the premises and there are other customers around who did not want to be disturbed as though I was a lesser customer. This was done without verifying any facts or assessing the situation to see if it was even true. Later on when I asked nylar about it , why she has falsely accused me and gone to misrepresent me in front of others, she started lying about it saying she thought I was not happy with the service, and casually asked if I wanted to leave or stay. She later gave a shabby apology to me but the front desk staff did not. As a long time customer, I definitely will not be going there again and you can go there at your own risk. I have also encountered other therapist there and those ones seem not knowledgeable about thier job. Overall I will be looking for a new and friendly spa , and I advise you to do the same. read more

TERRIBLE SALON !!! The esthetician had my 15 yr old daughter in stripper makeup after being told my daughter wanted a natural look for grade 9 graduation . As I went to pay I asked my daughter if she liked it she burst into tears " I just wanted a natural look not this " was the reply . Eventually I believe a girl named Mya came and took off the drag queen makeup and fixed it . After complaining while waiting on a new esthetician to fix it the original one came out (short blond haired lady ) and started telling my daughter ( still in tears waiting ) how rude she was and arguing saying we asked for a dramatic look !! I am giving Spasation Londonderry a 2, because even if I could give it a 3 for how my friend felt after her massage, I cannot given the overall experience. I gifted my friend visiting from the US a Hot Stone Massage and she really, really enjoyed it. She told me that the person attending to her did a super job and was so glad that I gave her this gift. The rest of our time, she doing a pedicure and me a manicure....not so much: Prices for these are probably the most costly in the city and the owner/manager seems to not be too concerned. The Staff that did our pedi/mani were very nice and did a good enough job, but for a buff and SIMPLE polish (and I got clear polish since I knew I would be cooking over the weekend) 50$ each is TOO expensive. We were the only ones in the mani/pedi area....surprise, surprise. On the heels of this, if you are going to advertise your establishment as a "Spa Experience" it would be nice if you had such.... There is nothing worse than getting out of your massage feeling relaxed and quiet to only hear the never ending chatter of the front desk around the corner while you are "treated" to basic water from the tap (of course in a "fancy" water holder--nope, no lemon, cucumber, not even a leaf of peppermint) and Red Rose tea from the original box with no sugar, no cream, no stirrer, no napkin, no NOTHING. Not even a piece of fruit to nibble on as you wait for your next treatment. In fact, when I did ask about fruit (so I could let my friend know), I received the oddest explanation: "We don't provide it because of allergies" but you can bring your own lunch/fruit/ect. As well, there is NO reading material of any kind (magazines, NOTHING) as you wait for your next treatment...just the Spasation price lists (to make you more anxious as to why you are paying as much as you are for what you are NOT getting, unfortunately, as a "total experience"). Wow, wow, wow. I did get offered the "membership" that others here noted....it is simply a "membership" that gives you 10% off on product you purchase from them. Unfortunately, I will not be going to this salon for any treatment of any kind since to me, at this rate, it is a "service" salon wrapped in a "fancy" salon wrapping--the front end with its stone counter and big windows is nice enough, however, what matters is what is in the back end where the treatments (time and expense) are being spent that matters. I will say that the Staff is very nice, however, because they are not so busy, they have a lot of time to chat and this, unfortunately, isn't a great thing for them or the people there getting their treatments and wanting to actually "relax" since you can hear EVERYthing about which they are talking. read more

If I could give this location a zero I would. However i am forced to give one star. They do not deserve it. I had a hair and makeup trial for my wedding. I get there and the receptionist (managers daughter) is yelling at someone on the phone and then hangs up on them. When I tell her I'm there for my appt. at 1pm she tells me to take a seat rather rudely. A hairdresser comes and gets me and when I tell her I'm there for my wedding trial she tells me she doesn't work Saturdays and won't be able to do my hair the day of the wedding. Why would you do my trial if you won't be the one doing my hair the day of the wedding. So we check their computer system which has their schedules and we can't find someone who was working that day and the day of my wedding. The girl tells me To come back anther day but my schedule didn't work with any of the girls who she recommended. So we decide that George the manager would do my trial and my hair the day of the wedding. He's not in until 2 so I have to wait and additional 45 minutes. He shows up, is angry and starts yelling at everyone that works there in whatever language he speaks and then comes over and grabs me. Starts playing with my hair and when I tell him I want a half up half down curly style he tells me HE CANT DO CURLY HAIR. What manager of a hair salon can not do curly hair?????? So now I lose it and start crying, and he tells me to calm down and stop being rude to him. I make my case of why I'm unhappy and he says it's not his fault, and he's not to blame. Technically you are to blame. He does some more yelling at his staff, and eventually gets me a hairdresser who is working the day of my wedding. But now she has to take me in between clients which means she's now rushing. While I wait for her I get my makeup done. Now the lady did ask what I liked but didn't really listen. Caked on the makeup so thick and when we were done it looked like my everyday makeup that I do. Not what I was looking for. It did look nice so I told her that but definitely not worthy of my wedding. She didn't blend properly and even had to fix some spots because she didn't blend well. When I'm done I go to the lady who can do my hair. She's currently with a client who she promptly hands off to another hair dresser to finish her hair. She starts curling My hair super fast and does a few loops up and calls it a day. My wedding hair took less than 40 minutes to do from start to finish. Very nice lady but too rushed for my liking. I go to the front desk and ask to confirm my wedding appt. they made the appt for the wrong day. They fix it and then promptly charge me $120.75 for all of that. No apology from the manager, no discount on my services, nothing. I immediately call the call center and lodge a very much needed complaint and they tell me it's not the first complaint they received that day about that location. I'm never really inclined to go back here. Their services are fine, but my god, everything is so ridiculously pricey. I used to get my brows done here, but I don't go anymore. Their front staff aren't particularly friendly, and every time I've gotten my hair dyed here it's turned out absolutely horrible. They do a decent job with waxes but honestly, I'd rather be a regular elsewhere that have kind staff. Staff were very nice, but was very disappointed with my haircut and colour. Did not look like what I explained to them, and colour was not what I wanted and was also blotchy. My review is for the threading only...I haven't had many services at this location outside of threading/waxing. Savinder does the threading and always does an amazing job. I have never been disappointed. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for somewhere to entrust their eyebrows. Spasation is on the pricier side of threading in Edmonton but I keep going back because I know Savinder is great at what she does and that makes it worth the extra few dollars. read more

I am a regular client at the Londonderry Spasation location. I like to come in every 6 weeks for a Brazilian wax with the amazing esthetician Ligita. Ligita is awesome, super gentle, friendly and patient and I would recommend her to anyone for any waxing service. Another thing that I really like about Ligita is that she remembers every detail I tell her and she just picks up from where we left off 6 weeks later. Rahna, (I'm not sure if I'm spelling it right) is extremely unprofessional, rude, pretty much the opposite of Ligita. I went to her for a Brazilian because Ligita wasn't available and I couldn't go at another time. She kept raising her voice at me every time I'd tense my legs, she'd say you have to relax or else I'm going to give you a bruise. First of all, who can relax when you're anticipating hot wax being ripped off of your pubic hair??? And a bruise??? Come on. She rolled her eyes at me every time I tensed up. And in the end I still had little hairs left over. I'm never going back to Rahna. read more

CONSIDER THIS AS YOUR WARNING!! I had booked a haircut and waxing at the Londonderry Spasation. When I got there the 2 young receptionists were busy talking, they saw me waiting in line but didn't acknowledge. When they finally finished talking, I told them that I had booked a haircut (bangs trim) for 11:30 and waxing at 12:00. Simple right? For some reason they managed to mess it up!! I waited till 12:10 to get my bangs trimmed because the receptionist got the times mixed up. And because I didn't finish my haircut till 12:30, the lady who was supposed to do my waxing was fully booked till 1:30 so I had to wait again. I told the receptionists of what happen but they're weren't interested!!! They just said "oh ok". A simple sorry would have been nice!! I called the call centre and made a complain, because it was a Saturday the manager wasn't around but they took my complain, name and number and I was told that I'd hear from the manager either Monday or Tuesday....never heard from him!! But no worries, I tell EVERYONE to never go here. The staff could use a course at hospitality and managers could use a course in HR!!! One of the worst places I've been. read more

The worst salon I have ever been to. The nail lady, who said she had 10 years experience (more like 10 minutes) destroyed my nails, which were immaculate to begin with, all she needed to do was paint them. They were filed too short and crooked, the color fell off on my WAY HOME FROM THE SALON, my nails are now, chipped, brittle and very broken. Every time I look at my hands I want to cry. I am not one to do reviews but I am so horrified by what this woman did that I feel the need to warn everyone. If you want your nails done, DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON! Overpriced, horrible service. I went to spasations after receiving a horrible cut in another salon. I found them to be friendly and helpful. I asked for a second opinion on my last hair cut and the stylist showed me what she could do to fix it. They made time to see me and the stylist did a great job in fixing my hair so it flows and has layers now (the last cut had half a head of layers then nothing). I still need to let it grow from the bad cut from the other salon; however I will definetly go back here and see the same stylist! VERY HAPPY!! read more

All the hair dressing stations are a mess booster juice and other fast food wrappers amongst other things just lying around... Used product bottles just out in the open. Doesn't look clean or very professional....One girl was wearing what looked like a garbage bag not a cape... Reception was cold and not very friendly at all. ADD masseuse. I booked at 90 min relaxation massage and felt more stress leaving then when I went in. I arrived a bit early to relax and read the girl at the desk said she can take you early so I went in 15 min early no biggy. She could not stay on one side of my body for more then 2 min walking back and forth all the time doing one side of my back then running her elbows down my spine then other side over and over again The room I was in I could hear every noise from the mall including crying children, screaming children high heals clicking down the hall, and thumping base from a store on the mail level. OH and to top it all off she was sick, constantly sniffling and had to stop twice to blow her nose and would not stop yawning. When I checkout out the girl asked how was it I said terrible and how it was so loud in the mall. I will be phoning the manager on Monday maybe those rooms at the end should be the waxing rooms not the relaxing rooms. read more

I had a terrible experience at Spasation Londonderry. I booked a cut & foils through the call centre. I informed the call centre agent that I had thick hair and that the appointment may take extra long (and that I was willing to pay extra if necessary to cover any extra time). She told me not to worry, and that she'd booked me in with the location manager, George. When I arrived, George was 10-15 mins late. I told George I wanted medium blonde highlights with dark blonde lowlights and to "clean up" my ends in terms of a cut. The entire appointment took 90 minutes. I'm accustomed to having foils & a cut taking anywhere from 2-3 hours. George did an entire head of highlights. About half way through I noticed he was only using the lighter colour- When I asked why, he stated that he would brush the darker colour on certain strands after (and lectured me on the fact that he'd been doing hair since he was 15, so "I know what I'm doing"). I let him do his thing. He began painting what appeared to be a DARK brown colour into my hair after finishing the foils. I asked why he was using such a dark colour and got told "it just looks dark when it's wet". He rinsed out my hair, shampooed and then began cutting. He had me turned away from the mirror the whole time. It took him 5 minutes to cut my very thick hair. He didn't check the length to see if it was even and didn't bother to check if he'd brushed it out properly. He began blowdrying my hair with a round brush and was holding the blowdryer so close it smoked. He didn't use any product. When I looked in the mirror I was shocked. My hair was stripey, the roots looked black and many of the foils hadn't been placed close enough to my scalp. He told me that the dark colour would wash out and to call back if it didn't. I tried complaining to the girl at the front desk, but didn't get much response. I paid and left. No tip. I phoned the call centre the next day to complain and was transferred through to the salon (apparently the call centre couldnt' do anything). The receptionist at the salon offered to leave a message for George. He called later and left a bogus cell phone number on my answering machine. I called back the next day to speak with him (he was again unavailable). I've since called 3 more times (this appointment was 3 weeks ago) to no avail. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. SCAM! read more

Went to get a massage here 05/11/2015 @ 18:00. The Massage Therapist was amazing. However the person at the front was one of the rudest and... (the words I would like to put down I can't). I walk in for my appointment at 6pm. There was her & 4 other staff standing there talking. I walk-in, say "Hi, I'm here for my massage", and it went down hill from there. The look she gave was one that if looks could kill I would have been dead on the floor. Her response was almost as good as her look; (big sigh) "name".." Come with me". We walk into the back area where she grabs me a clip board hands it to me and says "Sit here, & fill this out". No smile, no how are you, nothing. Not even can I take your coat for you sir, would you like something to drink while you wait sir. And hey I'm not a person who wants a whole lot. I simply want to be treated like a person and since I am about to drop 120.00 on a 1 hour service I would like to be treated with a little respect, instead of being treated like an inconvenience. As she was leaving she asked "is there anything else"? (not going to lie a little confused about why she asked this). But I said yup how about a smile and a please maybe?? The Pedicures are Horrible! A friend and I both booked pedicures we were hoping to get something a little more relaxing/more intense than the usual walk in places. We booked the deluxe pedicure which indicates on the website 75 minutes and a foot massage with exfoliation treatment and callous softener for 75$. Boy were we disappointed! The entire experience took about 50 minutes the ladies performing the pedicures felt the need to continually ask us personal questions and then talk between themselves about the incompetent managers and other staff at the spa. They seemed rushed slapping one product onto my foot then another. We both did not receive any massage other than the light and quick rubbing of cream into our feet. No exfoliation other than a scrub applied. Then one of the ladies kept stating she had somewhere to go so the other lady told her to leave and took over the end of my friends pedicure. It was not relaxing at all. Perhaps the worst part is that they globbed so much polish on our feet that after leaving and walking around the mall for about an hour in sandals when I got home my polish still wet rubbed off some toes and is dented on others. They also missed the sides of my nails with polish. My feet still have all the rough spots they had prior to the pedicure. I only feel like all they did was put moisturizer on my dry feet! The last time I stepped foot in Spasations, it was for a eyebrow wax and pedicure. Pedicure was ok. Definitely not something to brag about but the wax was horrible. I left in pain. My eyebrow was red and swollen. The tech told me it was my skins reaction to the wax. When I got home and the swelling started to go down we could see that she had ripped a big chunk of skin off!!! I went down to talked to the manager who refused to see me. The receptionist went to the back and came out with some cream and told me I could get a gift certificate for a free waxing next time. I told her she could keep and I've gone else where since. I still have scar below my eyebrow to remind me to never go back to Spasations!! read more

This place is so ridiculously overpriced and they're services aren't even well done. I've had so many friends who have had bad experiences here I'm surprised this place is still open. read more

I was sadly disappointed with the services and atmosphere of the Londonderry location. I received a gift certificate for my birthday and booked a detox mud wrap and facial. The spa seemed cluttered, unclean, and lacking a spa like atmosphere. I wasn't even given a chance to change into a robe or put my purse in a locker. There were cleaning products, a used lofah brush, and distracting, overly bright, flickering lights in the treatment room. The room looked like it hadn't been used in months. Although the esteicians were very nice, the services they provided were also lacking. During the mud wrap, I was awkwardly 'exfloiated' using a dollar store lofah glove and then clumsily wrapped in mud and plastic for 20 minutes. Although the lotion massage following the mud wrap was nice, the treatment was not worth the price. I also found the facial was not worth the money as the products and techniques were very dated compared to other facials I've had. For example, they used a coarse instead of enzyme exfoliation products and placed an uncomfortable rubbery face mask on me for a good 20 minutes. The estetician and was also a little rough on my face when applying products. I definitely won't be wasting money there again. read more
