Food was really good. Cocktails had almost no alcohol, and not a lot of variety. We were sat by a table who had a kid screaming randomly throughout the meal and other kids who were throwing a ball in the restaurant that went under other people's tables at several points. Servers are still quick, pleasant, & attentive. The food is still very good. What brings my rating down from 5 to 4 stars is the wait to be seated. First, there really is no seating while waiting for a table. Second, the hostess underestimated our wait time. We were told 20 minutes when it actually took 45 minutes. To be fair, I don't entirely blame her. When I mentioned how long we had been waiting, she apologized for being understaffed. EVERY PLACE seems to have the same problem so I get it. But what the real issue may be for Ridgewood Kitchen is an ability to be even semi-accurate in how long it will take a table to turn over. There were three elderly couples seated at a table when we arrived. They had clearly finished their meals & were conversing. They did so for another hour & forty-five minutes! How can a restaurant deal with that?!? Ridgewood Kitchen is still a great choice for food & table service. Just be aware the wait time for a table may be considerably longer than quoted. read more

Service was good, food was good not giant portions, not small either. The ambiance was nice for a Saturday. You wouldn't think it to be in a strip mall plaza type of thing. My father ordered the Salmon, mother got the Shrimp Alfredo and I got the wontons. I was personally hoping for a larger portion but still good. I got the short rib on the nachos. Definitely suggest getting the short rib! Overall think my family enjoyed the atmosphere more than I did. They are older and matched the crowd there as the average age I would say.... maybe 40+. Stopped in a fling on a Saturday afternoon. Sat right down. Service was friendly and prompt. I was hanging, so just a diet coke. I had the build your own burger (not on menu). Stopped here while I was in Ohio and it was so good! I got the crispy chicken sandwich with the chick fella sauce. The only concern I would have, which wasn't a problem for me, was that the chicken sandwich tasted like it was friend in the same oil as the fish sandwich is. The servers were so friendly and helpful in choosing what to get. There was no wait and food didn't take long to come out either! Not a good fish fry. The haddock was pretty good fish, but the beer battered crust ended up quite black and tasted burnt. We all sent it back. The explaination from the manager was that the fish was so thick that it needed extra cooking to ensure the fish was cooked. The extra time in the fryer causes the batter to get overcooked. That is fine, but it the crust was quite dark and not only was it not appetizing, it was rejected by all four of us who had it! The waitress' explaination is that she just worked there and shirked responsibily. That kind of ticked-off a few of us... at least she did send over the manager who offered... more fish! Cat food! We are not going back for awhile. This restaurant if usually pretty decent. read more

We wound up here after our original plans were a bust. With a hungry kid and a husband who wanted a hotdog in tow, I searched for "American" hoping for the best. I am so glad we decided to take a chance on this restaurant. The food was incredible. The service was wonderful. Our server (Allyce - sorry if it isn't spelled correctly) was so kind and helpful. Especially with our toddler. We had the zucchini with tarragon lemon butter special. Holy shit, if you don't like vegetables I think this would make you a convert. My husband did not get a hotdog and isn't even upset because he was so excited about the other options and ordered the pistachio pie. *chefs kiss* I got the southwest crab cakes which were perfect. They came with arugula salad and pickled onions which balanced the crispy, flavorful cakes. Our son, smashed the kids grilled chicken (we added BBQ sauce) and (maybe parmesan) risotto. Quinoa over zucchini, summer squash, carrots, greens, red onion, roasted red peppers and Kalamata olives all drizzled with Balsalmic glaze. Healthy and delish. Friends got the Earl of Fish sandwich (another house fave). It was light and flaky on a gorgeous fresh bun. My sister tried the Poutine. It looked amazing. Great service. Solid choice. He got the short rib sandwich which was also yummy. The meat pizza was good, but really nothing special. The crush was boring. My wife and I decided that we were done cooking and the kids were on the road at least for a Thursday night. So off to Ridgewood we go! So since covid they still have the ridiculous plastic Shields up everywhere but as far as cutting down the noise in the booths it actually works so I hope that's why they're being left up LOL. Our young and attentive server was Johnny on the spot with my wife's wine and currently I'm just drinking tonic water and most people think that's weird. But she complied and got me exactly what I wanted. We ordered the chicken nachos and I kid you not it took them one minute and 30 seconds to bring the chicken nachos out. Holy cow. The chicken was hot the cheese was melted and I love the Asian chips. It wasn't too much I wasn't too little it was just right. Maybe it was a little too much because instead of getting the burger I wanted I ended up just getting a house salad. It came out dry and I asked for ranch clearly they forgot it it would be who them to do a quick double check before you leave the kitchen. One odd thing was my wife got a caesar salad and they put pickled onions on it. I've never seen anyone else do that and it certainly was not a welcome addition as my wife really doesn't care for onions so if she had to pick them off. Both of us in our salads were topped with chicken the chicken was cooked perfectly. When it came time for the bill I realized I had quite a few toast points which reduce the bill down and I like it where they check you out write a tableside but one negative was I didn't realize till I was almost out the door was that when you tip out after they give you credit for your toast points you tip out on the reduced amount not the full amount. After I found this out I ran back in and gave her 20 bucks. Yes I realized that was a lot but she was a young girl and she worked hard but it's Christmas time and I don't want her to think everybody is a scrooge. read more

Really really liked this place. It was our first time here and the staff was really friendly. We got their goat cheese pizza which was filling and delicious! And the prices are reasonable as well. We liked Ridgewood so much we came back a second time this week! Not overly crowded, but steady, on a Tuesday. We got the wonton nachos which were really good. My husband raved about them. He got a make your own pizza that he really enjoyed. I took advantage of taco Tuesday (half off!) and got the Korean BBQ. Very good flavor, just a bit of heat to them. And the Poutine - WOW. SO GOOD.
