We have a membership and now have a massage therapist who is a keeper! Helen listens to what I need and pays attention to my body as she massages. I got an amazing massage and have another appointment scheduled! The staff is always attentive and friendly and I love that I have the option to shower after my massage. It's peaceful while I wait as well. The thing I like the most is that this is a down-to-earth spa and not pretentious. What a wonderful way to spend your birthday! I got their signature facial and they gave me a bonus moisturizing hand treatment as a freebie! I loved the woman who did the facial - Jessica- she was very informative and helpful about my skin concerns and had some great recommendations. She didn't try to sell me products from the spa but recommended cheaper brands. The facial itself was great! The only downside is that I live a little far from this location so I might have to try a closer location. And my one critique of the place is I wish they had a few more amenities in the shower/locker room. They did have a hair dryer, combs, shampoo, conditioner and deodorant but I wish they had lotion or oil to use after the shower. That was the one thing I didn't have. First time back in very LONG time; my goodness parking is crazy, SIRI doesn't like 28th and pushes you into 30th elevator anyone?? It's very difficult to see or understand and do not follow flow of traffic. Getting out onto 2nd floor doors open and it looks like construction area or definitely, "looks" like not used area(s) finally, R or L? I gave up, I was out of breath, getting to this point and I'm blind. I wasn't sure, if I was in the correct area? The signage blends into everything, it feels like, blind leading, the blind. Finally, called salon in dire need of help. Please, signage especially for new customers, tiny assist in elevator so you know, you are on the right floor & which way to turn. I was completely late, got in, for a quickie, my feet hurt badly and they needed room ASAP--change back, into clothes, get me into the retreat area. Yes, helps with calming. I offered to stay longer to get rest of treatment. Nope, in/out. I suggest, come in early, don't be mee, lost and in never-ending circle! read more

I booked a deep tissue massage, for which they charge $129. I had three areas of my body that were battered and needed help (upper back, lower back, and thighs). I communicated these needs to the nice massage therapist. He proceeded to give me a light massage of my upper back while sitting on a chair. When asking me to turn over, he finally asked "how was that?", and I communicated that I feared it hadn't done anything. He then went to work on my upper back the next half hour, and did a good job with it. He must have communicated to the front office that the appointment did not go well, and they charged me $20 less. I guess I'll put it towards another massage for the other areas I needed help with (somewhere else). Nice people there, but a spa it is not. I have never written a Yelp review because I'm a positive and generally satisfied customer! Yet I've had two really bad experiences at Spavia and their level of company integrity is low. I have received two gift certificates there now. The first time I went, I had a great facial yet when I gave them the gift certificate, they told me it had already been used. I had never been there so it hadn't. I had the card in my hand and yet they kept telling me I had to pay for my service, so I eventually did. It wasn't resolved and I had to wait for them to contact management etc., at which point they said it was a glitch and they refunded me my money. Second time around now a friend who doesn't live here found them on Google and gave me a gift certificate for my birthday. I booked an appt. I called the morning of asking to re-schedule. I said I don't know if you have a cancellation policy and she said 'usually it's 24 hours, but we can reschedule.' Within the hour, I had a charge on my bank account for $75.00. I called to let them know and a manager said, yes that's our policy and it's included in the email you received. I told him I had spoken to the concierge and asked and she didn't acknowledge anything about a cancellation penalty. He said I should have read the email which I of course understand but had specifically asked her and it was not mentioned. I find this to be really inconsiderate business practices and lack of accountability. I do not recommend visiting this establishment solely from the business side. The services are great, but I would not want to give my money here. read more

Went to Spavia Boulder for a "spa-lebration" this weekend as part of my best friend's bachelorette party! CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS! Their "spa-lebration package" allowed us to have a retreat room all to ourselves (where we could bring in snacks and champagne!), we had personalized lockers, and they sent us home with cute little goodie bags. They made all of us feel SO special and everyone said it was the best part of the weekend! The services themselves were amazing! Many of us got the Signature Facial/Massage package but some folks got hand/foot treatments, maternity massage, salt stone massage. Oh man. Where do I start. One of my top three massage therapists here. Connie is the best. I hurt my neck the day before and I happened to be paired with Connie who's specialty is knots. I wish I knew there was an 80 min option for massage but booted for 60 min. I almost used my checkin for yelp to get a discount but then they told me about the trio package membership. Three months, three services and I already was going to book another apt the next day. So I was able to get a three pack where each cost $59 per service. I paid for two and was able to get my best friend under this package for the third! Such a steal! I usually do a full facial too so that's a no brained. I did have an express facial for 30 min and my gal was also awesome! She def got some clogged pores out and I need to go back to her for a deep cleanse. I will totally be back to see the both of them. Amenities are so great for a day spa: lockers plus a shower and relaxation room. The relaxation room could have better lounge seating but I'll take a shower access with amenities included instead. Bathrooms are stocked for emergencies. Service is amazing and they have this lip product that was sold out that I really wanted. Also complimentary green tea mints, neck warmers and tea. I love this place. Too bad the closest one to the bay is in going to open in Pleasanton. I want one in San Mateo!! See you soon Spavia. As soon as my friend makes her official move to Boulder, I'm there. read more

My sister and I scheduled a spa day here for her birthday. This is a professional salon with spa pricing, not a massage school with discount pricing. The massage I got felt like it was out of a sitcom where someone finds themself in a situation that they have to pretend they are a massage therapist. It was so amateur as to almost be laughable. While I enjoyed my facial it turned out the facialist had just graduated a month before, so also very green. The manager who was working the reception area was equally unskilled. She could barely add up our services, blaming her computer system and constantly changing her story. She was bragging about her choice to hire people with no experience and then give them the training herself (which was clearly not yet working). All in all a joke of an expensive spa day. The beginning was a little rocky. First the was no neck wraps in the relaxing waiting room, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom, Blake my therapist talked quietly so I couldn't hear anything he said, and he was rough on my back even though I asked him to do less pressure. It felt like a deep tissue massage when I said I just wanted a relaxing massage. And he dug one finger under my shower blade for about 10 min. It hurts to where I can't touch my left shoulder blade or sit on a chair and lay my back on the back of a chair or couch. And he rubbed my neck for for less than a minute and that's the part I was looking forward to because I came in with a sore neck and I mentioned that to him. And to top it off at the end of my massage he never walked me back to the relaxing room so I got a little loss. read more

Flew in to Boulder for a girls trip celebrating my BFFs bday. She picked this spot and it was a great deal. $129 for a 100 minute massage ($163 w tax and 20% tip). The location is in a shopping plaza which was a little weird but its a new plaza and it had some great stores. The place is small, we had 9 girls and they could only accommodate 7 at a time so some ppl had to wait a long while (bring some edibles, that might help the time to pass). Also they use lotion (or something like that) instead of oil, which I have never had and don't care for. But I have to say that masseuse was really good, I asked her to spend the last 20 min back on my shoulders and back and to over certain spots and she happily obliged. Overall the place is great if you are looking for a standard massage. But if you're looking for a high-end experience, you should tey another spot (but you'll pay a lot more!!!) read more

I went to Spavia with my daughter and we both had a wonderful experience. She had the Spavia signature massage and I had the sports massage. The place is inviting with a relaxation room, shower and lockers. They ask you to arrive about 10 minutes before your appointment in order to fill out paperwork. You also get to choose the music and the scent of the lotion they'll be using for the massage, which is a nice touch that I don't remember having in other spas. I also appreciate the fact that there was no pressure to sell us anything when we left. A great place to get a massage! read more

I am so grateful to have been able to get a much needed massage today. I received my massage with Gerald, who is absolutely wonderful. Truly. Now I know why he is the most requested. He had just the right touch, and felt very safe and attentive. It was truly a healing massage. I was then led to the retreat room where I was given a heated shoulder rest and delicious tea, with access to beautiful books, and the space to stay still and quiet to just integrate it all. My last visit wasn't great to say the least :( I booked some time on my birthday for a facial and my first ever spray tan with a body scrub treatment. The facilities were cramped with the amount of people they had in at the time (4-5 in a waiting room with two seats), and both of the services felt rushed. The esthetician came to get me 5 late and ended the facial 5 early and had very very light pressure for her massage points that made it feel like she was barely touching me. She did extractions and chose to pick at some spots that were only made angrier and left other spots that were very ready that I then had to go home and extract myself. The tools and creams used (with exception of the steamer) didn't feel any different than general things I have at home. I was supposed to have a nourishing hand treatment addition because it was my birthday and *i think* she picked a 'hot stone' treatment after I requested a nourishing hand treatment and she offered me a scalp oil treatment instead so I then had to request again that she didn't put oil in my hair and that I got my hand treatment but the communication was so unclear that she went for the hot stones anyway and the hot stone treatment only lasted about 1min per hand with once again incredibly unsatisfactory pressure. Her application of the scrub before the spray tan also felt hasty, rushed, and got very cold very quickly after application. If I hadn't actually massaged the scrub into my skin myself in the shower I don't feel like I would've actually gotten any exfoliation. The spray tan itself is darker around my arms and neck with splotches on my hands/fingers and is too light around my abdomen and legs and face. She went over my arms and hands several times but not my abdomen or legs, she only did two very very quick and light applications there but more in my arms. Additionally after my treatments the new, poorly trained front desk person attempted to charge me full price even though I purchased a membership last month and told me she couldn't find my membership. She was very kind and redeeming though by saying she'd get it figured out with her supervisor later and giving me a small discount. Overall I do not see myself booking either of these treatments at your spa again nor do I see myself recommending them. If it weren't for the incredible massage I received last month by Theresa I would have left only 2 stars read more

The location of the spa was a little weird to me. Never thought about a spa inside a mall or outdoor mall. That being said, once inside, you'd never realize that you were anywhere but heaven. I enjoyed having a "locker room" of sorts to leave my stuff and wind down. Also, having a place to rinse the oil off after a massage was nice and the relaxation room before the massage was a nice touch. I had never had a massage from a guy before, but Jay was absolutely amazing. I've been enjoying massages at Spavia for the past year and a half. There are so many massage places in Boulder I tried several before deciding that Spavia would be my regular location. Spavia works hard to personalize your spa experience from letting you choose the lotion and the music for your massage to giving you tea and a shoulder wrap so you are relaxed before and after your massage. All the massage therapist are experienced which helped me relax during sessions and work out tired muscles from running to weight lifting. I highly recommend Spavia for a relaxing and well priced massage from some of the best in the business. I continue to renew my membership. read more

I bought my wife a gift certificate for a massage and facial from here. My wife booked her appointment but the night before the appointment, our son was up all night with a 105 degree fever. She called when they first opened and said she had to cancel. The woman on the phone charged her $50 for a cancellation fee. I realize spas need to have a 24-hr cancellation fee but I believe there should be times when they are a bit more flexible with this policy. Our son was really sick, it's not like she drank too much the night before and was hungover. There are a lot of spas in the Boulder area and because our experience, we will not be giving any future business to Spavia. read more
