I have been to this particular spavia twice and I have been less then impressed with the front desk staff. My first massage was a year ago and the second one was today. In both instances the moment I walked in, the receptionist, Patty, was rushing me, snippy and came off as too hurried to take care of my questions about my service. In both cases, I felt she tainted the relaxing environment that a spa should have as you walk trough the doors. I will not recommend this spavia to anyone, in fact I will recommend against. This spa is wonderful. After my first massage, I signed up for the membership because the experience was great from start to finish. I was impressed with how professional the front desk was, the amenities available before the massage, and the relaxation room prior to going in for my massage. My first massage wasn't great, to be honest, because I wanted (and paid for) a deep tissue massage (which I've been receiving for over 16 years now) and ended with something similar to a Swedish massage. I never would fall asleep during a deep tissue massage (pain so good...) but I fell asleep during my massage because it was too "fluffy." However! They accommodated me after I said something about my fluffy massage afterwards and told me there were some deep tissue specialists - so I signed up for the membership and am looking forward to my upcoming appointment. I've been a member here for a year and a half, and I always feel relaxed and rejuvenated after my massages. I've seen many of the massage specialists here and they are all wonderful, and take my feedback very well. I love that you can pick your own lotion scent and music as well! read more

I have been here and other location of this company numerous time and enjoyed my massages. I had a membership as I planned on coming once a month. The last time I went in I scheduled a couples massage for my boyfriend and my self. Again we had this treatment before and enjoyed it. This time when my therapist picked me up she took me into the treatment room then looked down at my stomach and ASKED ME IF I WAS PREGNANT which I was not!!!! It was mortifying and embarrassing and I burst into tears. The women working the front desk was trying to apologize then said the therapists always ask people that before they start a service which is not true because I had been there half a dozen times and no one had ever asked me that. I work in the industry and if you don't know by now that this is offensive and inappropriate you need some lessons in professionalism. Needless the say we did not get our massages as I was too upset to relax. The worst part is after I complained to the front desk and they said they would follow up, I never received a call, email or anything else regarding this. If you are a women and you are asked tho question when you are not pregnant it is one of the mortifying things to be asked. I WOULD NEVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION. read more

Went for a couple's massage. Dana and Gerald did a fantastic job! I had Dana, and she just was wonderful - perfect amount of pressure, peaceful voice, got at all my sore spots. The spa itself is a little gem in an urban area. You come in off the street and into a very peaceful environment. We loved the restroom/shower area for prep and clean up, and loved the little details and amenities, like the incredibly comfortable robes and warm neck wraps. Much better priced than other places we looked at but fantastic experience, so great value for the money too. Highly recommend. read more

Spavia is my scheduled get-away for a day, day! My once a month appointment for facials is a way that I thank myself for all of the smile-wrinkles! My skin is smooth and beautiful. The staff is knowledgeable and will let you set the tone for the session. I enjoy the quiet during the facial except for the meditative music. I highly recommend Spavia in Boulder. It is a wonderful relaxing experience. I have a membership which makes having a massage at least once a month very affordable and it allows me to buy gift cards for friends and family for a very inexpensive price. I've had many massages with a number of different therapists and they have all been great. I've had a facial that was also wonderful. We called today to confirm our massage and they had no record of our appointment and had no availability for the rest of the day. We are so disappointed! Deanna, wonderful therapist, has seen me through two bad back situations that chiropractors could not remedy. The whole team is just great.

I visited this spa with two friends during a girls weekend trip. We all thought the massage we received was excellent. I try to get a massage at least every 6-8 weeks, and sometimes I am disappointed when I don't go to my regular therapist. I was pleasantly surprised to receive one of the best massage experiences I have ever had here. My therapist was Liz, but my friends both had a wonderful massage too. I had a signature massage (60 minutes) with Deanna and she was fantastic! She really worked my muscle that I could feel the difference afterward and felt so relaxed. I am a full-time working mother with a one-year-old son and my shoulders and the whole upper body was really stiff and tight as I was really busy the last few months and didn't have time to take good care of myself. She applied the perfect amount of pressure throughout, not too much or not too little. Her personality was pleasant, also. I liked the massage oil/cream she used that made the whole massage really smooth and flowing. I didn't realize this place was a full-on spa until I went in and it has a nice retreat area where you wait for your therapist after changing into a cozy robe and slippers. It was definitely a special treat. I was worried about this place and kept my expectations low after reading some of the negative reviews, but my experience was total bliss. Someone mentioned the receptionist not being professional or something, but the person who escorted me was friendly and polite although she was definitely very young. read more

I have never had a massage before, and came in on a Groupon after I had made the decision to splurge. I was the last appointment on a Friday night. It was actually nice to be there by myself (I think I was the only customer in at that time). The receptionist was so kind. They give you a questionnaire to fill out to help them customize your massage. More than just light vs. hard pressure they ask what kind of music you want, whether you want to talk with the specialist or have silence, about medical conditions that might affect treatment, etc. After changing in a very clean changing room you go into a relaxation room (aromatherapy, tea, soothing music) where your therapist will greet you. Audri (I think) have me my massage. I have had significant back troubles in the past, and she worked with me to figure out what would be best. The massage was just heavenly. First time I've relaxed, truly relaxed, in years. Audri was wonderful. She was communicative, very thorough, professional, calming. After the massage, instead of pitching Spavia, she gave me two tips on relieving back pain in the future. I plan to go back! read more
