I have been getting monthly facials from Michelle for about four years. She is amazing! I am also very happy with Spavia and the membership program. The locker room is always clean, the rooms are dim and the linens luxurious. I like the products that Spavia uses, too. The front desk staff is always helpful and friendly. The one time that I did have a problem--a new employee charged me the full price for a facial instead of putting just the gratuity on my card--it was a giant mess, but the manager worked patiently to get it resolved. I have never had a massage at Spavia, as I prefer my aches and pains to be brutally pounded and twisted by relentless Chinese ladies, but I am sure that the massages are on a par with the facials. This Spavia location is my favorite. Scheduling, while easy, is not always the most friendly process since you're on hold with an automated system before you talk to a live person. However, it's worth the wait. Jessica and Jamie are my two favorite estheticians by far. I hate to say that though because I don't want their schedules to be full! My husband gave me a spa finder gift card for my bday thinking I needed a spa day shortly after becoming a mom. I booked a scrub, massage, and facial a month out and was so looking forward to it. Two hours before the appointment they called to cancel the massage because the therapist was sick, obviously not her fault. I kept the appointment for the facial and moved the rest to a different weekend but when I showed up for the facial they said they couldn't take anything less than the full amount off the gift card even though it explicitly states that it's multi use. Very disappointed that I will not actually be experiencing any of their spa services. read more

So this was my first experience at Spavia. I had a 60 minutes signature massage by Dawn that was great. I also paid an extra $15 for what I was told was a 10 minute island bliss foot treatment. When I had called to book this I asked for the description of the foot treatment and I was told it was a scrub and a massage followed by a hydrating cream. But it lasts for maybe 4 minutes and felt like lotion put on then wrapped in a hot towel for a minute and that was it. I enjoyed the signature massage but really the foot treatment failed and was a waste of money. I would recommend coming in for a massage but any extra services I wouldn't. I don't know if I was falsely informed on what the island bliss foot treatment included, but even so it wasn't a full 10 minutes. Wish I could have my expenses reimbursed for that. read more

I was told before booking an appointment that I could use my spa finder gift card in combination with the $30 first time offer. Payed $27 in total. All of a sudden there is a charge of $57 on my card and according to them, I could not use both at once so they took the freedom to charge me the $30 extra a couple days after my appointment. When a sale is made it's finalized so even if their employee did wrong by telling me I could use both - they have no right to just pull money off of my accounts without even giving me a call first to apologize that they did wrong. read more

I've been going to this location for waxes for awhile now. I had to cancel yesterday due to the fact that my husband got in a car accident and I needed to go to hospital as the call from the EMT stated. When I called to cancel my appointment ( which I have never done before) the receptionist response was "Well we will have to charge you the 50% cancellation fee because Jamie showed up for you". Please note my appointment was at 7pm ( the very last appointment of the night) and she was completely booked before then. Word to wise- avoid this place. God forbid something happens to you- if the esthetician showed up and your house is on fire you'll still be charged because Spavia could care less, they want the money. read more

I used to be a loyal Spavia member, but moved away from the area. Upon returning to Denver, I was excited to try Spavia lash services. I eagerly signed up for another membership, but have not been completely satisfied with the services and decided to cancel my membership. Since September, I have been getting the run around from Spavia staff. My initial attempt to cancel the membership was over the phone - I was told I would need to come in to fill out paperwork. I presented to the store a short time after the phone call to complete said paperwork, only to be told that this must be done with a manager. Why this wasn't mentioned when I called is beyond me. Nevertheless, I scheduled to come back in at the specified date/time that the front desk girl told me the manager would be present in order to complete the necessary paperwork. When I arrived at Spavia on the second occasion to cancel my membership, I was told that there was not a manager available. Today marks the third attempt at cancelling my membership. Surprise, surprise - no manager! The girl at the front informed me that the manager would probably be returning in 15 minutes or so. Are you kidding me?! How many times must I go to this place, call, and e-mail in order to cancel a membership that I do not wish to use?! I'm still being charged $79/month. Definitely not happy. I came here for lash extensions and when I wasn't satisfied with the way the technician did them, the manager reached out to me and went out of her way to make it right and fix them. The new technician I had, Dani, was amazing! She is very experienced and professional and she asked me exactly how I wanted the lashes to look. I am a member and have been here five times now. I plan on returning, and hopefully updating my review, but I had such an unacceptable experience yesterday, I had to write my first review for this business. Before I speak of yesterday's massage, I will say that I have had a great massage, 2 good massages and a so-so massage in my prior visits. It is very provider-specific. Yesterday, I worked with Molly for the first time for my standard 60-minute deep tissue massage. She was friendly. I'm pretty shy when it comes to these kinds of things, and rarely speak up. She asked how the pressure was (it was definitely not "deep"), so I asked for a bit more. She likes to use her elbows, which I'm okay with. Except she proceeded to GRATE her elbows across my bones! My spine, my scapula and my RIBS! It was terrible. Shy as I may be, I finally had to ask her to stop. The really bad part though is she kept "slipping off" the knot she was working on. I've likely had about 50 massages before, and I've only ever experienced this once before. It seriously happened at least 30 times. Her time management was also poor. I will be the first to admit that I am tight all over. When she had me turn onto my back, she pressed on my legs a bit, rubbed my traps, and then said we were out of time! What? No good shoulder work, no neck or head massage whatsoever! I don't expect my provider to be able to work out every knot, but she didn't work out anything in particular, and still wasn't able to move along efficiently. So, I just chalked this up to a bad massage, and vowed to only see the person here who gave me my excellent massage in the past. I was going to gently mention something at the reception desk when they asked their obligatory, "how was everything?". Unfortunately, one girl was on the phone and the other was helping a client check in, so I just grabbed one of the little envelopes myself to put my tip in, and I went home. After dinner, I noticed my left posterior rib cage hurt every time I took in a breath. Quite sharply! I don't regularly take pain relievers, but had to take ibuprofen before bed. Today, my back is in knots (not just tight, per my norm), my skin and tissue is just general sore all over), my hamstrings are sore to the point they feel like they're bruised (this was the area I finally asked her to stop elbowing me), and it still hurts to breathe. I'm new to the area, and wasn't able to get in to see a chiropractor until next Tuesday (that's what helped the one other time this happened to me), and I feel like I really need to get in for another massage for someone to undo the damage Molly did. I hope she is new. That is the only excuse I feel is acceptable. I honestly believe that she is unsafe, and has no business doing deep tissue on clients. The way she would continually "slip off" my knots was amateur, and what I believe put me in the state I now am. If I ever have another experience like this at Spavia, I will not return. Spavia is a spa that promotes membership. Once you sign up, your account is charged every month. The catch is that if your visits build up because you can't get in when appointments are available, you are busy, etc., you are limited in how you can "catch up", i.e. you can only use 2 visits per month, if you put your membership on hold, you can't use your visits. I forfeited $300+ because I couldn't use my visits according to their policies. Don't sign up for a membership!! read more

It was outdated, and the 'lounge' room had front desk staff running thru for one thing or another, leaving doors open while we awaited our massages wearing robes alone! Kinda awkward. Spavia Day Spa is out of this world. This experience is awesome! They treat you like a royal princess. When you first come in they seat you in a waiting area with your own dressing locker and a locker to lock up your clothes and Valuables, give you a white robe for your session and also loan you a pair of sandles, where you wait you are offered teas, coffees, or cold water. When you are called for your massage you are about to experience a body melting ,and mind Relaxing ,altering hour of total "self indulging," pure me experience, enjoy!If you were given it as a gift, or bought it for your your self, it is truly An experience you should indulge in. I will be back to this spa soon. Their massage therapists Are experienced and you will not be dissapointed At all. They don't expect you to sign a contract, and they only hire experienced people. I went to Spavia in February and did one of the packages as a birthday gift. It was a incredibly relaxing. Everyone was very friendly, courteous and helpful from the moment I walked in until I left. The changing room is nice, not large but plenty of room. There is a shower available, changing rooms and lockers for valuables, soft robe and slippers to use during your stay. The meditation room when you wait for your technician is peaceful with an assortment of teas and nuts. They even had "green tea mints" which I thought were just perfect to have before my treatments. The only thing that would have made this better in my opinion is if they had a hot tub or sauna. I really love to soak in a jetted tub before I have a massage. And being that this is advertized as a day spa I did hope that they would have had one or the other. They don't, so that is my only knock from 5 stars to 4 stars. Just my personal expectation of a "day spa". First I had an 80 minute hot stone massage with Diane. She was fantastic. I really liked that they ask you upfront when you fill out paperwork if you want conversation or not during your massage. I noted that I'm fine with conversation if I initiate it. Most the time I really want to just relax, decompress and disappear for a bit. Diane allowed me to do just that. Her pressure was exactly as I requested. I would definately come to her again. Next came lunch. My package included lunch and there was a choice of salads or sandwiches they order from a local place. I got a salad, the portion was perfect and it was delicious. This was also enjoyed in the waiting room. Last I had a vita-c radiance facial with Jamie. Oh I abosolutely loved her. I will make a point of getting on her schedule in the future. When I asked for suggestions on home care she made some good ones (even one to get rid of spiders). I use a lot of essential oils and holistic methods at home, as does she, so we were able to share ideas for each other. When I checked out I was told about the membership options but there was no pressure. Neither of my specialists nor the receiption made me feel pressured at all to buy the membership. I did end up buying it because it really is a good value if you plan to have a massage or facial monthly. Or if you skip a month you can do a massage and facial together which is a very nice treat to yourself once in a while. Looking forward to my next visit with them. read more

This was my first visit to Spavia, but it definitely will not be my last. Veronica was my massage therapist and she was very thorough about how much pressure I wanted and what areas I wanted her to concentrate on. She did a great massage and was very professional in her demeanor. They give you a questionnaire that asks which scent of lotion you want (definitely try the cranberry and citrus), what kind of music you would like and whether or not you wish to talk while getting a massage. I would schedule day of. I scheduled a facial on Monday and today my child was sick and unless they want a sick child in their spa I couldn't come to my appt. I called them at 9am and my appt was at 1. They have a 24 hr cancellation policy so I had to pay 50% which is $55. Most cancellation fees are $25 everywhere else in the world. Taught me to use a different spa that will be understanding to parents. read more
