I had a GC so I decided to treat myself to a facial. The staff was super friendly and the place was very clean. After check in they bring you back to a locker room where there was showers, bathrooms, lockers, and changing areas. They offered me a robe and told me where to put everything and then brought be the tranquil waiting space where you could have tea, read a magazine, relax and even use a warm neck roll b while you wait for your service. Now this space was set up for peace and relaxation but I will say you could hear the employees chatting and laughing loudly on the other side of the door while you waited, but that's not really a big deal to me. The service itself was wonderful. The products they used had me leaving with glass skin and the aromas were heavenly. If I could complain about anything I would say I wish it never had to end. My son took his hard earned money and bought a couples massage for him and his girlfriend. She was treated great, really got the experience. He was treated complete opposite. Was not shown even where to find a robe to change. Pretty sad considering he saved up to do this and got treated poorly. I'm not a big massage fan, but felt I needed one. I made an easy online appointment with Michelle and was nervous going in. The receptionists made me feel quite at home and relaxed. One of them explained everything, showed me the changing room, and gave me a locker. After I changed into a robe and slippers, Michelle was waiting for me. She showed me to the room, explained the massage (I had asked for deep tissue) and left for me to disrobe and get under the blanket. What a massage! She removed every ounce of lactic acid I had in my shoulders. I left feeling quite relaxed and happy. I liked that I could choose the music and the lotion, although so many of them had coconut, and I can't put that on my skin. Next time I want a massage, I'll definitely go there -- and I'll probably go sooner rather than later. read more

Spavia still keeps its 4 star rating for me :) They could bump up to 5 stars if they had a bigger locker room (super cramped if you have more than 2-3 ppl getting ready) and got all my appointments right (they have "messed" up 2x's before moving my time and therapist - which can be annoying). Still, they are friendly, conveniently located near the mall (Park Meadows) and still have the most reasonable rates if you want a membership type deal (believe me I just looked again and what I get for $65/mo here is usually $80+ everywhere else!). I did the hot stone massage today. I have always meant to try it and finally took the leap. It was very different. Not at all what I expected. I can see it being heavenly on a cold snowy day (and hellish on a hot one). If you don't know what the hot stone massage is, they heat up flat stones in water and place them at key points of your body to relax and warm the muscles. They also use the stones as the vehicles for the actual massage - running them over your body. These hot little devils give a wonderful Ow-oh-ahhhh sensation. I absolutely loved them on my feet, she put hot small stones between my toes and I just melted! One warning - they do have to use actual massage oil (not lotion) to get the stones to run smoothly across your body so you will come out a bit greasier than usual! At any rate. I am still a fan! I've gone to a few spas but this is my favorite. As a man, we aren't complete afterthoughts there for space or lockers, which is nice. Their membership program is priced pretty well with nice perks including discounts on extra massages and being able to share benefits with a spouse. I had a facial scheduled for today but marked it for the following weekend on my calendar. I got a very polite call when my time was up and I kicked myself as I offered to pay for the massage and tip anyway since it was completely my fault. They said they could easily accommodate me if I could arrive in 20 minutes and were super polite when I arrived. The services always go the full length and you can book easily with their app. Very happy with this place! read more

I've been getting massages for years because I have a desk job and it always seems like my neck or back is killing me. My wife joined Spavia as a monthly auto memeber ($65/mth) and then you have the ability to "bring a friend" and the friend pays $39/mth for the same $65/mth treatments. So I get a 60 minute massage for $39. I usually upgrade it to the 80 minute massage for $20 more. This is hands-down the best massage I've ever had. After working my way thru several of the masseuse's I settled on Karissa and she is the best I've ever had. My back always feels amazing when I'm done and I feel so relaxed I could just fall to sleep. The receptionist's are always nice and recognize me and the "retreat" you go to to wait for your appointment is nice and relaxing. After you've undressed in the locker rom and are relaxing with your robe on the receptionist will come in with a hot wrap for your neck and you can just sit there and wait for the relaxation to happen. The staff at the front desk were great. They had me fill out the type of music I want to listen to, if I want talking or not during the massage and what type of pressure AMD lotion to use. There person doing my massage clearly did not read this as she asked me what type of lotion I wanted because she did not read my profile, she was very rough and her long nails were extremely painful. I asked for less pressure and she did let up a bit but went right back to the hard pressure again and again. Oh and she talked to me so much. Please read clients likes and dislikes so we can enjoy the massage. One of the worst massages I have ever had. 3 days later still have a headache, backache and feel completely beat up. read more

I love coming here! I always feel so relaxed and pretty after I leave I haven't been since last year, but now that I am vaccinated I've started coming again. Scheduling is really easy. All the receptionists are really nice and helpful. I only see Dana for massages and she is awesome! She gives great pressure and takes her time working out all my kinks- especially in my shoulders and neck. Tina is a great esthetician. She gives great advice on what facial option is best for my skin (it's pretty sensitive). Both Tina and Dana are really friendly and personable. Go see them! read more

Before going in, they had me complete a questionnaire online. The questionnaire included this drop down menu asking "Would you like to add any of these to your visit?" So I thought, sure, why not. From the selections I chose a hot oil hair treatment. Then they told me it wasn't added when I asked about it, and the girl at the front desk said I had to schedule it separately. Why would you even ask, then? That was frustrating, especially since I left my hair in some sloppy pins for it. She also kept addressing me as "Love", which I didn't care for. The music selection wasn't what I had asked for, and the massage therapist was a bit rough on the shoulders, but had perfect pressure everywhere else. I did like the neck massage at the end and the lotion they used smelled wonderful. As a former healthcare worker, they teach you to explain to patients what you're going to do beforehand (i.e. "I'm going to place this pillow under your knees") so the patient knows what to expect. I know this isn't healthcare, but some communication would have been nice when she decided she was going to pull on my legs and rotate them around. I had no idea what was going on, and I thought she was trying to adjust my position or something, so I scooted down on the bed before she told me to stay where I was. The place is small, but nicely decorated. I liked the salt rock lamps, soft blue and purple colors, and the chocolate mints in the bathroom. I didn't like the basic b**** quotes on the walls that said things like "today is your day" and "relax"... kinda corny. Not as extravagant as some other places I've been to, but about the same price. I will try other spas and probably won't go back for another visit. I just wasn't all that impressed. read more

I chose this location for my sister's bachelorette party as it was reccomended by a family friend and my sister went there for her friend's bacherlorette the year prior. However, we had a totally different experience. Instead of the private room we were promised with tables and chairs to set up our mimosa bar, food and games, we were given a spare spa room that was dark and only had two spa beds for seating. We couldn't set up any of the decorations and it was so dark and very crammed and uncomfortable. Not what we had envisioned and definitely a let down. I am very disappointed with SpaVia, Park Meadows. I have been a member for MANY years and am now being told that because I am a grandfathered (long time) member I am not able to allow others to use my appointment if I am unable to make it. So, I make an appointment, I am reminded of my appointment 24 hours in advance and can't make it. I will be charged if I don't show so I send my son in my place. However, after calling and telling them I am doing this, they never mention to me that I will have to pay for him, they bill my card for the appointment. I don't understand why it would matter to SpaVia, WHO actually is using the appointment if I am PAYING for it. I have paid for the massage time and if no one is there I am still paying for it. Please explain to me how this is a good business practice and how it makes sense to treat a LOYAL customer less than a new customer? Is it because I am paying $20.00 less than new members? Is it because I am a member of the Greenwood Spavia, although I was told I could use my membership at any location and ALWAYS go to Park Meadows? I should be able to send whoever I want if I am unable to make the appointment as I have paid for it. Seriously, with all of the different spa's around, SpaVia, Park Meadows, should rethink how they are treating existing customers. read more

After going in so much, the wonderful front desk gal, Jennifer, has become really friendly and chatty. I like going in somewhere where I'm remembered and acknowledged as a regular! I started getting my waxing done by Abigail. She's fantastic. I just can't say enough about her. When I lived in Las Vegas, I had some fancy schmancy wax done at Neiman Marcus. Abigail beats that hands down. She did my brows so perfectly--I was almost in doubt! She's really friendly and kind. I've been to several massage therapists, but my favorite is Karissa. She's a tiny thing so you'd think she couldn't really "get in there" and get the knots out, but you'd be wrong. She's great! Overall, it's a great value for the money. After a very bumpy start with this company, I am so happy to update my review to reflect the actual massage services! If you read my previous reviews, you'll understand the bumps I'm referring to, but what actually got me in the door this weekend was the owner reaching out to me directly last month (almost a year since my negative experience), and here is a snippet of her message to me: "I have recently read your review and I was very saddened to hear of your dissatisfaction. Because of this, I wanted to personally reach out and offer my sincerest apologies for the customer service that you experienced. We are here to pamper you and make you feel relaxed and valued, whether it be during the service or when interacting with the staff. I would love the opportunity to show that my team is exceptional and that you can enjoy a spa experience with us." -Allison, Owner Ultimately, I took her up on her offer to enjoy a massage there, and I'm so glad I did because I was blown away! They offer a monthly membership similar to national chain Massage Envy for the same price of $49 for 60 minute massage, but they bring their massage experience to the next level! The facility is immaculately clean with lots of little details attended to, and they were very busy and managed it very well. First, I loved their profile sheet they have you complete. It actually asks you about your preference for conversation during your massage which I appreciate because it eliminates the awkwardness if you have a chatty masseuse and you're not quite sure how to ask them to tone it down while you relax. I was able to check a box that indicated I preferred no chatting. And you can pick your music!! Second, you get to choose the scent of the lotion they use for your massage. They had 5 or 6 scents including citrus and lavender- so nice to have a choice! I chose citrus and found it mild and uplifting. Third, you get to change into an actual bathrobe, in a very nicely appointed bathroom/changing room with lockers, and then sit in a relaxation room that has lovely books of inspiration and positive thinking, as well as water, tea and breath mints. The mints are definitely a nice touch. I think I also saw chocolate chips- um, okay :) Made me wish I'd gotten there much earlier just to lounge in a robe longer. Finally, when the massage therapist comes to get you she puts a warm shoulder wrap on you to warm up your shoulder muscles for the massage- brilliant! Then, when you get to the room (which is nicely done) the first thing she asks is how she can make my massage a great experience (or something along those lines). It was such a kinder approach than how other massage places ask a similar question as to what to focus on, etc. She even made sure I was ok with the music as it was a little different than described on the profile. All of those touches put this place way above most spa/massage locations. I've never even experienced half those touches at 5 star hotel spas! The massage itself was incredible, and I highly recommend Stephanie. She listened to me and gave me a very relaxing massage with the perfect, feathery-light touch I'd requested. Even though I was invited to visit by the owner personally, I don't feel like I was given any sort of preferential treatment. That is a really important part of my whole experience was that I know no one on the staff knew me as anyone different than all the other customers; and I certainly can't be bought, so don't worry about that- I am reviewing this the same as if I'd walked in off the street for a massage. I had such a great experience here that I'm thinking of getting my husband and myself a membership as a gift to each other for our 10 year anniversary in September! I've been a member of Massage Envy and would choose Spavia over them any day. I'm willing to admit that I went in with a sour attitude, thinking I would not be able to find a nice spa experience in the suburbs and outside of my lovely San Francisco. But, after a few weeks of pretty serious stress, I was in need of a massage (and threw in a body scrub/wrap and eyebrow wax for good measure). I decide to take my chances. What a pleasant surprise. Upon arrival I was greeted by a professional front desk women and was given my choice of scented oil for the massage. While a bit small, the changing room and waiting rooms are both nice and worked well (I can imagine on a Saturday they might be a bit crowded). I was even offered lunch (which I declined) when they noticed there was a break between my treatments. Eyebrow Wax - Quick, pretty painless, efficient, good shape. Massage - I had the deep tissue with trigger points. I wasn't expecting too much as this is not a massage-only place, but again I my expectations were exceeded. I think my shoulders might have dropped down an inch or two after the 80 minutes of good pain. Body scrub/wrap - It was nice and relaxing, but I have a hard time thinking I couldn't do this treatment for myself if I bought some scrub and heavy lotion. I've been to the green wood location and liked it and since then I've been spoiled and i have been going to the wood house day spa , out of convenience of appointment availability i thought I'd check this place out. I did not regret it! My husband and got couples massages and really enjoyed them. The facility is nice , the dressing rooms are spacious and have all the necessary amenities. The waiting rooms for male and females are separate but they offer delicious tea and neck warmers while you wait for the massage to start. Definitely will be back! read more

SCORE! HOLE IN ONE! HOMERUN! TOUCHDOWN! GOAAAAALLLLL! Why am I using sports analogies for a spa? Not sure, but it was the only way I could really say that this place is truly awesome. I am new to town and needed to find a spa that would meet the high bar that my spa in Reno set. I believe I have found it at Spavia. The interior is clean and serene. The locker room (ah - there's where the analogy fits) is beautiful, lots of elegant touches, including a thick, fluffy robe and slippers, to make you feel like you are going to be pampered. Everyone who greeted me was friendly and said they were glad to have me there. The quiet meditation room is complete with waterfall, water, tea, and light snacks. I did a 100 minute ultimate massage (sadly, not because I play sports, but because moving is stressful!) with Deborah. She was AMAZING. She made it very clear that my comfort and relaxation was her concern. I've had a lot of massages in the past 12 years, and I really feel like Deborah is one of the best. I immediately felt a connection to her. Her work is thorough, the pressure and pace are perfect, and she is a genuinely kind and caring person. I feel absolutely amazing after my session with her. I liked it so much I signed up for the Ultimate membership (which offers really stellar discounts for your loyalty, very easy terms, as well), and I am getting a facial and waxing next week. Took my sister here last Saturday and we both received the detox renewal wrap. My technician (I believe her name was Jamie) was wonderful and I would give her 5 stars. My 2 star rating is for the facilities, super small locker room, and my sister's service started late by 20 minutes. I would only book an appointment during the week because the locker room changing area is just too small for being there on the weekend...more than 3 people is already packed. I've never been to a spa that had this small of a locker room. Our appointments were both supposed to start at 11:30 am, but my sister's didn't start until 20 minutes later. Her service wasn't cut short but we both didn't appreciate the late start. I spoke to the front desk about it and the gal was apologetic. I have recently canceled my membership with another spa. The masseuse I had there was great but I was starting to become a regular and she was getting a bit chatty for my liking. I couldn't relax with someone yacking away about their personal life, which I sensed was a ploy to get more tip. I set out to find myself a new spa. I have seen Spavia and thought I would give it a try. I love how they make you answer some questionnaire at your first visit. Needless to say, I checked the mark "don't talk to me" during my massage. I am not totally anti-social, I just don't like talking or thinking during my massage. Being on a massage table is like being in a steam room or a bathroom for that matter. I do not take calls while I am in the bathroom, though I know plenty of people who do but I digress. Back to the massage, I didn't think I would be able to find another masseuse as great as the last place but Mary Anne is now my favorite. I love the lotion she uses here as well. Leave my skin silky soft not oily or itchy like the other place. She gets right down to business, she knows the pressure I like a head of time, the music, everything. She is awesome. Not to mention that Spavia is cheaper than the other spa I had a membership with. I have the signature membership at $49 a month but any extra treatments that I want, I can add them for $39. And $39 for a 60 mins massage is a steal! And I can do facial one month and massage the next or even skip a month and combine them. Everyone was very friendly. I really liked the different teas they have I'm the waiting room. I have some of them at home like the Get Gorgeous and Republic of Tea. Also have snacks, Chocolate chips, Almonds and Tea breath mints. I also really liked their spa sandals. Nice changing area with washcloths, Shower, Blowdryer etc. The Sheets were the most comfortable sheets on a massage table I have ever encountered, and the massage was great! She promised me, if she could, she would send me a sign she was with me. As I was painfully and tearfully going through her things, I came across a sealed envelope with no writing in it at all. I've been in many spas before, this spa is really amazing. I decided to try them as I'm driving south now more often and it is a big commute. I liked that I was able to book online. The ambience was very relaxing, I arrived early so I got to wait on a nice waiting area were many herbal teas where available. My massage therapist was great, she knew my name and ask me what areas I wanted her to focus on. I was a little chilly after few minutes, and as I mentioned it to Stephanie, my therapist, she immediately turned up a space heater that was in the room, what a great surprise!!! I used an introductory offer, I just paid $49 for an amazing massage. Right what I needed before driving back home. They offered me to join their wellness program, I might join it soon. read more
