I can tell pretty much right off if a company is out for you or just out for the money. Well HSA is out for you. I told Maria my information on my Health Insurance and she gave me honest information and told me how to go about it. She did not try to sell me anything, but guided me in the right direction. HSA offers Health Savings Plans where you can put your health payments otherwise going into a health insurance plan into a saving plan. I am no exactly sure how all of it works, but I am sure they can guide you in the right direction and save you money in the long run. They also represent most all major health insurance plans. We used Pike Insurance for several years for our commercial general liability policy, and our…read moreexperience ended very poorly due to a lack of communication and accountability. When our policy was originally set up, our estimated gross receipts were listed at $100,000 because we were unsure of projected revenue. Over multiple policy periods, our policy was audited several times and each audit showed our actual revenue was significantly higher. We paid the additional premiums each time, and because our premiums increased after each audit, we reasonably believed our policy exposure had been adjusted accordingly moving forward. That was not the case. Despite multiple audits clearly showing much higher revenue, the policy continued to renew year after year with the same $100,000 estimate. At no point were we clearly informed that this estimate remained unchanged or that it could result in substantial additional premiums later. After the most recent audit, we were billed approximately $9,800 in additional premium. When we attempted to get clarification and request a review with the carrier, communication from our agent and their supervisor became extremely poor. Multiple emails went unanswered for extended periods, even while the account was being pushed toward collections by the audit company. We ultimately paid a reduced amount of $8,400 simply to avoid further escalation. It is important to note that this discounted amount was offered by the audit firm, not Pike Insurance. The most frustrating part of this experience was not the audit itself, but the lack of responsiveness when we needed assistance. As a client, we expected communication and guidance, especially given the history of prior audits. That did not happen. If you work with this agency, do not assume anything is being updated or handled behind the scenes. Review every detail of your policy yourself, every single year. We hope Pike Insurance takes steps to improve communication and accountability with their clients.
