In a word, delicious. I got the food to go, and my wife plated it (see picture). Thanks to the cowboy blood coursing through my veins, I'm able to sniff out awesome bbq from 100's of miles away (thanks mom and dad - I really appreciate it...). Came here Friday in hopes for them to cater my party on Saturday and boy did they not disappoint. My wife and I tried another bbq spot a few miles from here to do a "taste test" and Speakeasy came out the favorite. We ordered Friday night and picked up Saturday at 6PM. We ordered the tailgater and boneyard for our party of 20 and it was easily enough food. We ordered the ribs, brisket, links, mac and cheese, and beans. Everyone loved it. I have to say I'm afraid to give this place five stars and a glowing review. Because I love great barbecue and I know what's gonna happen. People are going to start discovering how wonderful Speakeasy is and there's always gonna be a long line. The great thing about this barbecue place is they close when they run out of product. They don't overcook. So let's take a look at the Speakeasy in a couple of different ways. Number one is it's family owned. The owners were right there on site answering questions serving and helping the customers. I had to ask them about the crazy hours and they gave a great explanation. There son does kids rodeo and it's always on the weekend. They didn't want to trust their new business to cooks and individuals who they didn't know and might damage the product. That is awesome! I can really respect people who put family first. The guest service we received was outstanding. Every person behind the counter or serving the food was extremely friendly and helpful. The lady taking the orders was very patient and was able to explain the menu with ease. Yeah let's get onto the food. They have an excellent sample platter they provide you a quarter pound of all of their different meats and all of their sides. I will walk you through my thoughts on each of the products. The tritip was nicely seasoned. It was not over cooked like some places. It had an excellent smoke taste of what I think was oak. You know it was good barbecue because it didn't need any sauce. This held true for every one of the meets that I had. The brisket had an excellent bark, nice smoke ring and great seasoning. Pretty much tasted like Central Texas salt, pepper, garlic and there might've been a little paprika in there for color. The meat was extremely tender had a great taste. What I had was from the flat. The chicken was off the bone and had a wonderful taste. It was not overly smoky and had a very nice seasoning to it. Excellent for kids or those who just love chicken. The smoke sausage/hotlink had a little bit of a kick to it. It was nicely cooked and tasted great. It had solid flavor through and through. The pulled pork was also very good. I am not a big pork guy but it was tender, well cooked. And had great flavoring. Finally the baby back ribs had a dry rub on them. They reminded me a little bit of a rib recipe that I had tasted a few years back called the best ribs in the universe. A little more of a salty seasoning taste. This is where you could use the barbecue sauces that were provided if you're a sauce type person for your ribs. Personally I enjoy dry ribs. Gives those the opportunity who want sauce to put it on and those who don't enjoy them the way they are. And like any solid barbecue place in Texas it was served with the few slices of white bread, some pickles and a little bit of onion and jalapeño. Sides were also very good. The corn was excellent. It had a Lemonie/lime taste with some other great seasonings on it. Almost like you would get from the elote man. The grandson just love this stuff as did I. They served a traditional mac & cheese it was very good. Good size elbow noodles they were thoroughly Covered in sauce. Really enjoyed them. The barbecued baked beans were amazing. They had a great smoky taste to them along with solid beans in an excellent sauce. These were very good. Also had their potato salad. I would say it was very good potato salad. Nothing stuck out about it though. The coleslaw was a dry style coleslaw. Something that I'm not really a fan of. I like more of a southern style. I think the slaw could've used a little more vinegar or something to kick it up a notch. I'm sure for most people they would enjoy it the way it was served. Finally they also have a banana pudding that was outstanding. Unfortunately I only got a few bites of it as the grandchildren had it polished off before you knew it. The prices were extremely fair. I would say they were a little low compared to other barbecue places. Currently they have to go and dining outside. But with the ever-changing health department rules I'm sure they will be having indoor dining shortly. All of their drinks are bottled. Speakeasy has excellent barbecue. I would highly recommend it to anyone. You have to remember they close when they run out of product which can be anytime in the afternoon or early evening. Also check their hours. My daughter and son-in-law Introduced me to this place and they said it was outstanding each of the times they had come. If you are in Norco or want to take a little drive for great barbecue Speakeasy is the place. The other great thing is you're supporting a family owned business. I saw an ad for this place on my news feed offering a buy one get one free sandwich, so I decided to check this place out. I came on a Wednesday at about 1 pm and the place was empty. Have to start. We started calling around 11, proceeding to call for 30 minutes. Once we found out they are open, we find out only they have chicken and Tri tip. At 11:30 weekday afternoon. The meat is not over smoked. It was $80, seems expensive, but was so worth it. It fed us for 3 days, and was still just as amazing on the third day! I loved the ribs, brisket & chicken. My Mom loved the pulled pork, brisket, & tri-tip. We weren't a big fan of the hot links. The spice level was good, but the grind on the meat felt too fine. All the sides were yummy! I will start this review with some criticism. Then, I'll moved to the things I liked personally about Speakeasy. This was my first time there. We drove all the way from San Jacinto, making it over an hour drive one way. To Speakeasy, you may want to take everyone who walks into your door as a first-time customer. First-time impressions are what will make or break a returning customer. My wife asked me where I wanted to eat for my birthday dinner and I chose this place. She actually showed me this place on TikTok. The food they displayed looked tasty. From the start, we weren't really greeted or even given much information about the menu. Their was one man there, which I think was a tattoo below his eye that was cool. He was very helpful and was giving us his best. Thank you, sir! We got one of the platters, items ordered ala-cart and drinks (soda). We ended up paying over $120. The food came to use cold, discolored from not being fresh. The meats we had included tritip, chicken, ribs, and brisket. We could justify the difference from tritip to the brisket at first cause the brisket was so thinly sliced. All the meats had a good smoke to them except the pork ribs. The taste would have been good, but as stated, it was all cold. People may ask, why not return it paying that much... Here's why, as a business, you're in it to make money. If you want to continue making money, you should make sure you treat your customers how you'd expect to be treated. You want the most out of a place and for a business to be trustworthy after spending your hard earned money. Whether I returned it back or not, I got from them what they thought I deserved. Show me it's not worth returning to. If I was just reviewing the food, I'd give it 2 stars, but I'm not. The positives I saw in this place from the get go was the nice structure outside and, most importantly, was to see ol'glory flying outside. The country music play that can be heard from the outside was also welcoming. When we walked in, I immediately liked the fact that these owners were also patriot loving Americans . The food was great. The ribs with the dry rub were outstanding and the brisket was done to perfection, and cut correctly. Across the grain!! Nothing to say about the service. You order at the counter and they bring you the food when it's ready. The selection of beer is not great. Only a couple of choices for the lager drinkers (unless you like Bud Light). The ambiance is that of a real BBQ joint. Rough and tough look, country or farm style. The place is a bit cold when they first open (especially during a cold and rainy winter). I would also turn the music down just a tad to let people talk. After all, your sign does say "No Wi-Fi here, Talk to each other pretend it's 1995." Just one disappointment after another. And this was not the first time we have given them our money. The first was shortly after they opened, probably in early 2021. The owners were delightful. The food, not so much. Underwhelmed, we chose not to come back, but I cannot remember the details of our first meal other than we tried a Dino Rib, which I did not see offered this time around. I chose not to write a review the first time around only because they were so new and they needed support, not the 3 star review mine would have been. Fast forward to August 2022, and the old man wanted bbq. We do not have many choices in our area, so the fact that they had accumulated a 4.5 star rating overall swayed us to return. This time, after reading the reviews, we went with the most popular recommendations. Mine was the beef brisket in sandwich form. His was the pork ribs, half a slab. Neither comes with any sides. Sides come a la carte. We ended up with potato salad, Mexican corn, and bbq beans. And lastly, two waters and one Mojito. The pork ribs were small, not meaty, but had a decent flavor. The Brisket Capitalist Pig is a burger bun stacked with meat, pickle, pickled onion, cole slaw, and cheese sauce. Big enough, but the meat lacked any smokiness other than it mostly tasted burnt. It was shredded and I would come across an occasional crackly crunch not unlike biting into eggshell. How surprising, and not in a good way. Their cheese sauce, which I requested to be put on the side, was nothing to write home about. Sure enough, as other reviewers had commented, it was most likely melted Velveeta. That does not get points in my book either. The potato salad I looked forward to, was bland at first bite. Nope, nothing to be raved over, but there is more... The Mexican corn, at first bite, was good, but only until the flavor of the mayonnaise base came through. Actually both dishes were made with a brand of mayonnaise that I avoid like the plague. Ok, maybe I am a mayo snob, but it was close to tasting either rancid or made of a poor quality oil. It was barely tolerable. The bbq beans, simply nasty. Canned beans doctored with a bbq sauce was bitter and spicy. Neither of us could eat it. Maybe that is a Texas bbq thing, but to me it tasted artificial and unpalatable. I guess I am not a fan of Texas BBQ, if this is typical fare. But the final straw was, we had to ask twice for the one bar drink, the mojito, that they forgot to mention they were out of mint and so simply did not bring it. Mr B ended up with a can of Coke and some rum over ice. We never got our waters even though we asked twice. Frankly, I am not a fan of picnic tables for dining either. They are awkward to get in and out of, but there were no other choices. After paying $56 to give them a second chance, it is sad to say, they failed to impress us again. Tried something new over the weekend. We went Speakeasy BBQ in Norco. This is called The Quarter ($60.00) It had 4 meats and six sides. Brisket, pulled chicken, hot sausage and pork ribs. The sides were potato salad, coleslaw, banana pudding, beans, corn and mac n cheese. Enjoyed all of the meats but needed the BBQ sauce because some bites were a little dry. Beans were spicy but good. Really liked the slaw and corn. Potato salad was blah but the mac n cheese was terrible(it was elbow noodles swimming in orange milk topped with crunchy fried onions). Pretty sure the banana pudding was from a giant can with a few banana slices and a drop of cool whip. We liked most of it. Would definitely ask to sub the potato salad and mac. We had to sit outside since the tables were all full. The picnic tables were warped and they must be hard to clean properly. Still on the hunt for great BBQ. read more

I feel that brisket is tough to get right, but their brisket was perfect. Extremely tender and very smoky. The mac n cheese side was delicious. My son got the Filthy Pig sandwich with smoked chicken. How could I not rave about this fantastic amazing spot. This couple who own this rock. They deserve to keep this place for a long time. I had a fireworks show that was happening at Riverside College. As an avid barbecue connoisseur, I would undoubtedly rank speakeasy barbecue in the top 1% best barbecue joints. The menu is short and simple, but you can order exactly what you need. My wife and I attempted to finish the picture perfect "Quattro."". - it's a little of everything. I love how barbecue joints have random art. Found this restaurant through a deal in Local Flavor we purchased a week ago. We loved the country feel as soon as we walked in the restaurant! Great flavor unfortunately meat is way over done. Makes it hard to chew. I got 1/2 lb of tri tip and 1/4 lb of brisket both super well done which was disappointing, the brisket was super dry. This was my first time trying this place and I'd like to give my honest opinion/review. For meat I only tried the brisket which was $15 for half pound. It's not the cheapest spot for sure. I had banana pudding, potato salad, Mac & cheese, apple cobbler and an A&W root beer. Brisket was tender, had good fat marble and the fat was rendered well. Had a decent smoke ring but did lack the pepper/ by salt I was hoping to taste being I was told it was Texas style bbq Brisket. Banana pudding was lacking. Not enough wafer's and the pudding itself had lots of small lumpy bits in it. Not sure if it was blended banana or the mix was not mixed enough. Flavor was mild as if watered down and the whip cream topping lacked sweetness. Potato salad had a refreshing cool taste to it. I'd give it a 6 out of 10. Mac & Cheese tasted like soggy noodles with melted Velveeta cheese pretty much. It's the type of mac & cheese I would expect on a kids menu not so much for a BBQ joint. Apple cobbler was pretty good. I don't think it's made with fresh apples but what place is? The cobbler crust was nice and sweet and buttery. Overall I would say it was pretty good and would buy again. Overall this place would get a return from me again and hope that some quality on the sides would be improved upon. Keep in mind I barbecue brisket myself all the time so I'm very aware of what good brisket is and what a good barbecue is. As for the interior of the establishment I would have to say it was really nice. It felt like a barbecue joint and the staff were really nice. Some of the comments I saw in the past talked about rude staff but I did not encounter that today. Everyone was friendly saying hello when I came in, helped me with the ordering process on how they do things and a nice goodbye on the way out. It's a good spot and I'm glad there's a place like this in Norco. I hope they continue to succeed. read more
