If I could leave 0 stars, I would. This is definitely a scam & l'll be trying to figure out how to take legal action. Even yelp leaves a warning message that they're inflating their reviews, smh. This place is dirty, bathrooms don't work, employees don't communicate about the details of signing up, and machines are broken half the time. Literally this gym sells nothing but ambiance and aesthetic. Recently spoke with Liz about canceling my membership. I was offered a discount for the following months & declined. Person at the front desk walked me through the process of canceling my membership online to only be told afterwards that my buddy pass was in a 12 month contract & i'd be paying for it until next February, which was never communicated with me. Now there's no main membership with an active buddy pass that I have to continue paying for without being able to utilize it! How does that even make sense? Scammers all the way around. I'll be causing hell until my buddy pass contract is cancelled. read more

BEWARE: This gym has a loophole they exploit that allows them to immediately void your contract/ agreement within 5 days of singing up and charge you double-- plus add hidden fees. Their fine print (never mentioned by staff at sign-up) pushes you or even REQUIRES payment by debit card for a single club membership. You're then immediately sent a vague follow-up communication by email/text that easily goes to spam or is not checked---asking you to switch payment to a checking account/routing number. Miss that? This automatically voids your contract-- and you get charge double--- the full multi-club rate. In only 4 months, they ignored my agreement, charged me the inflated rate every single month- plus hit me with two separate annual fees back to back. Two yearly fees in only four months. When I raised it, staff and management deflected, blamed me, and defended the (hidden and vague) policies without addressing the math. In my opinion, this gym (or the parent company ABC fitness Solutions LLC. ) knows what they are doing with this loophole ---as they lean on reaching into the pockets of a young adult, student demographic that may not catch or care about this. read more

This gym has been such a great fit for me. The atmosphere is positive, the equipment is well-maintained, and the gym is consistently clean. Great vibes at this establishment. I've had memberships at the big box stores like LA fitness/24 hour fitness and Speakeasy is definitely a little more niche with their workout equipment and atmosphere. I'm a morning workout person so the crowds aren't unbearable but anytime after 4pm and you'll be fighting for machines. The music can get a little loud sometimes so make sure to use headphones. Equipment and facilities are generally clean. They are going through some remodeling (as of March 2026) so you can see the commitment to innovation. If you catch a deal on their website the pricing is reasonable. The best gym is the one you actually will commit too, with that being said Speakeasy is a no frills gyms that checks a lot of boxes. No fitness classes plus a pseudo outdoor work out area should also be taken into consideration. read more

However, with that being said, a lot of the people were hogging the machines for long periods of time. It's a drag, going to work out at the gym and having to wait for different machines because somebody is on their phone Scrolling for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Management has been dishonest. After being a member for a year, I signed up to renew a one year membership for an ongoing promotion with buddy pass for $40 for the whole year. After I signed the contract, the employee told me that the contract I signed was only for the membership and they would cancel my ongoing monthly payment for the buddy pass and charge me $40 for the one year buddy pass. [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, despite speaking with 3 different managers (high turnover) over the last 6 months, they failed to change my buddy pass and are still charging me monthly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They breached my trust so make sure if you do get a promotional offer that it is also in ONE contract, otherwise they will unlikely honor their promise. read more

Commercial gym touring season for me! This one is a bit out of the way for me but I figured I'd give it a shot. Parking: Parking spots are tight and the parking lot set up is just horrible. Gym: The layout of the gym is weird. The loud EDM music is just not my jam. Having said that, you will find most of everything you'd want in a gym. Barbells were kind of all over the place. The place looks 5 out of 10 in terms of cleanliness. Foot traffic: I went during prime hours 5pm and most machines were available for use. That's a plus! Overall an okay gym if you're in the area. My partner and I were excited to check out this gym by our place. We dropped by on Monday, 3/24/25 at about 9pm and asked about a free trial. The person at the desk looked confused and asked me where I had heard about a free trial. I said Yelp (which took me to their website where there was a 7-day free trial button). She said they had just updated their website, and that she didn't recommend the trial because afterward one is obligated to a 12-month membership. (I think we're all adults here capable of deciding whether to cancel or keep a membership going after 7 days, no?) Instead, she recommended I pay for a day pass. Ah, but the weirdness continues: She then said she had to take care of other customers, and looked over to the other staff member at the front desk, who started typing away. I presumed he was looking into this mysterious free trial issue. My partner and I patiently waited a couple minutes, musing other membership deals written on their whiteboard. Then, this fellow just gets up and walks away, ignoring us altogether. I turned to my partner and said "F*** this," and we nodded in agreement and left. We'll try a gym with the bare minimum of manners and happily pay more for that. read more

Be careful with this place! I wish my son had read all the bad reviews on this place before signing his contract. He and his friends got scammed. He was told that he can cancel anytime, but when he tried to go in person to cancel they informed him that he signed up for a year. On top of that he signed up for the option to bring a companion. That's another $10 per month. It's his fault for being so naive, but they prey on these younger guys who just want a place to work out during winter break or summer. Now I'm stuck with paying $500 until the one year is done. If you want to transfer the membership it is a $100 fee! Be careful with this place! And if anyone can offer some advice on how I can cancel the membership please let me know. I'd appreciate some help on this. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I went here years ago and loved it but when I had to move I went to cancel my membership at the front and they said that I had to do so through my portal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I went to the portal and canceled and got the cancellation confirmation email.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Later, I was still being charged monthly and they said I still had an outstanding balance. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I checked my portal and saw that there was no balance nor could any staff member tell me what the balance was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ended up calling my bank and blocking them from my card. A few months went by and I saw that they were charging me from a different account called "prohibition museum". I ended up cancelling my cards and accounts and adding my name to a lawsuit against them. Nothing became of it as far as I can tell but be very careful about canceling. read more

This gym is so incredibly disorganized and dirty. I used to go to this gym when it was Gold's gym, many years ago. It's a good space, but overcrowded with disrespectful people, too much equipment without weights, broken equipment, and the gym is very dirty, no one puts anything back so weights are everywhere. Management appears to do nothing about trying to keep it clean and organized. Poor management appears to be the biggest issue to me. No one wants to walk around spending double their time trying to find equipment. read more

The gym is cool. Lots of good machines, weights, upbeat music with good vibes. HOWEVER - they have charged all different random amounts, sometimes several times per month. We signed up for a promo that would cost $17.99 per month on a debit card connected directly to your bank account. If you don't want to connect your bank account, it was $23.99. Ok, fine. I decided to pay the extra without connecting my bank account. Definitely DO NOT connect your bank account! I just called cause I want to check out this gym and seen multiple social media post about a 3-10 day pass depending on location and the first thing the worker ask is if I wanted a day pass for 20$ and that I have to be within 5 miles to get a free trial pass when none of the ads say that. read more

Pasadena location has such an amazing vibe, machines are very well maintained, staff are friendly and helpful. They offer juice/protein bar, you can also follow them on IG, great supplements offered for an amazing work out. Definitely recommend this gym, favorite machine for leg days is the hack squat. read more
