This gym has been such a great fit for me. The atmosphere is positive, the equipment is well-maintained, and the gym is consistently clean. The staff always makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. One of my favorite things is that I can get through my workout without having to wait around for machines or weights. It's a refreshing change from crowded gyms and makes it easy to stay consistent. Highly recommend

Management has been dishonest. After being a member for a year, I signed up to renew a one year membership for an ongoing promotion with buddy pass for $40 for the whole year. After I signed the contract, the employee told me that the contract I signed was only for the membership and they would cancel my ongoing monthly payment for the buddy pass and charge me $40 for the one year buddy pass. However, despite speaking with 3 different managers (high turnover) over the last 6 months, they failed to change my buddy pass and are still charging me monthly. They breached my trust so make sure if you do get a promotional offer that it is also in ONE contract, otherwise they will unlikely honor their promise.

Love the atmosphere, really good to gym

Good atmosphere, really good gym to work out at! The shakes are really goood, friendly energy. Club like gym for sure. This is my new gym

My partner and I were excited to check out this gym by our place. We dropped by on Monday, 3/24/25 at about 9pm and asked about a free trial. The person at the desk looked confused and asked me where I had heard about a free trial. I said Yelp (which took me to their website where there was a 7-day free trial button). She said they had just updated their website, and that she didn't recommend the trial because afterward one is obligated to a 12-month membership. (I think we're all adults here capable of deciding whether to cancel or keep a membership going after 7 days, no?) Instead, she recommended I pay for a day pass. Ah, but the weirdness continues: She then said she had to take care of other customers, and looked over to the other staff member at the front desk, who started typing away. I presumed he was looking into this mysterious free trial issue. My partner and I patiently waited a couple minutes, musing other membership deals written on their whiteboard. Then, this fellow just gets up and walks away, ignoring us altogether. I turned to my partner and said "F*** this," and we nodded in agreement and left. We'll try a gym with the bare minimum of manners and happily pay more for that.

Does this place have alot of classes?

Unfortunately not at this location. This gym is the oldest of its kind and the smallest. They also don't have a pool or sauna.

Doe this place have a belt squat?

    Yes it does

How many squat racks/smith machines do they have in this location? Also, do you have a hip thrust machine available? By pictures it's hard to tell. Ty

depends on the location- the pasadena location has a whole leg room in the back- i would say there are about 10 free standing/smith squat racks and 2 glute bridges thruster machines. it’s pretty awesome!

    Do they have basketball courts?

I didn't see any during my visit

Is this a comfortable gym for beginners or people who haven't been to a gym in a while?

    Absolutely

Does the Pasadena location have a pool?

    No they do not

Do they offer any classes yet?

I joined them in Nov because I was told they had spin classes. It lasted about a month & they closed the classes. I left.

Is there showers in the locker room?

    Yes there is.

Is there a steam room or sauna?

    Not at the Pasadena location

    Is there a kids club?

    No there isn't

    Do you have rowing machines?

they have two and they are both broken

Do they have any type of kids club? I'm a widowed parent

    No.

Do they offer group exercise classes?

I agree. There is no suitable space for aerobics and even though they have recently doubled the workout space at the Pasadena location, there still are no classes. I will say that they make every effort to keep the facility clean and have ample… Read more

During Shelter In Place are they requiring reservations? Or is there a line?

No reservations, no line unless they hit capacity.

Will this gym ever open at 5 am? If it were to open at that time I would definitely join. I'm sure others would as well

    Yes they open at 5am

During the trial I tried out... Kali Sculpts w/ Melanie: - Melanie was very welcoming and consistent with her transitions and overall flow of the class. The poses certainly challenged the whole body at a steady pace that still afforded flexible upgrades / challenges Kali Flow with Brynn: - Brynn was a fundamentally sound instructor, with stellar energy and great verbal / tactile body cues. I really appreciated her running us through a warm-up for all the major joints in preparation for more dynamic poses. As intended, it was not long before I found myself in flow. Bonus points for the squeaky clean transition into the cool down. Spin-Strength-Stretch class with Emily: - this was my first ever life cycle class (Peloton) and I loved every second of it. Emily's firecracker energy and physical capacity to walk the talk was incredibly impressive. Additionally, it was pretty badass going from 25 minutes of cycling that slowly progressed to adding choreographed movements straight into a 25 HIIT total body EMOM circuit (every minute on the minute) A Restorative Kali flow with Brittini to conclude the week: - A late night Yin to end the day was great. Moreover, drawing down the blackout blinds to completely engross the lot of us into our own sensory space really allowed my mind to trail off into the grounding music cast in the background. Overall, this studio has so much to offer. Firstly, it's impressive that they have such a streamlined and user friendly app. Also, the floor space is super well laid out with easy to use daily lockers and check-in. The star of the show though has to be the instructors themselves - all of which are so unique in terms of skill set and foster a welcoming yet electric atmosphere as soon as the needle drops.

I find it interesting that they lock access to certain rooms, only to be opened with your membership. To make a long story short, I was tired of their run around at the end, and especially wasn't happy about them doing that and unwilling to help, unless I renew my membership, which will drastically increase. I hope to have a new beginning with Chuze. Loyalty is my forte especially in business. So far, my experience with Chuze has been awesome. Clean facility, a bit cleaner locker room, and it seems like maintenance is good here. Yes, I saw a leaking roof from the rain, but it doesn't bother me because everything else is good. They have sanitary wipes everywhere for people to use, and I actually see people using them (unlike 24 HF). The facility has all the weights, machines, cardio machines that I need. The air conditioning at least works well, and it doesn't smell like a gym. I see people properly re-rack their weighs after usage, and then wiping down their bench! I enjoy working out more in a gym wherever people are considerate. And I've seen that over here. Kudos! Parking, hmmm... I guess it depends on the day and time you come. Definitely imo, a four star facility.

I'm only 5 feet tall and DEEP into my 50s so that means a lot for me. And if you're wondering how I know how much muscle I've gained it's because they have one of those body composition measuring machine thingys. When I first started out I was really nervous. I hate exercising. It's boring and time consuming. I mean I guess it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, but not by much. So I knew I was going to have to pay someone to kick my bum for me since I'm too lazy to do it myself. For me, this is SO worth the investment. All of the trainers are great here. I work mostly with Pam, who I love. Most of the time. But I've worked with other trainers as well and everyone is great. Except for Victor, who has terrible taste in music. (JK Victor I love you!) All the coaches are super supportive and have really pushed me to achieve my best. I am constantly improving. CrossFit 626 is a real community. I really feel like the coaches and clients are so connected. Last Christmas they hosted a holiday party and it was so nice! I have belonged to a number of gyms in the past and none has provided this kind of experience, where the coaches really take a personal interest in YOU and your goals. And this is true not just for private coaching clients but also for people attending regular classes. I seriously doubt you would find this at the average chain-store gym. Thank you CF626!

I think whether it's worth it really depends on how you use it. If you're just using it like a normal gym, it's obviously way overpriced. But if you actually take advantage of the classes and amenities, it is worth it. The floor Pilates classes are free but the reformer classes are extra. The classes are really high quality with good instructors. For me especially because I hate packing stuff and they provide everything you need for all classes. Even for yoga, you don't have to bring anything. You just show up and they have mats, bolsters, blankets, and everything is clean and ready to go. For me personally, I use it as an escape because I can hit the steam room and take a shower sort of like a spa pass. They provide all the bath products too. I'm not a huge fan of the products themselves, they are drying kind of like hotel products,, but at least they're there, so I don't have to think about packing anything. Another thing is that it removed a lot of barriers because they provide towels, which are always clean and fluffy (and I don't have to wash). I can show up in workout clothes with a water bottle and everything else is provided. As with any gym, though, it's not worth it if you don't actually use it. It's also not a huge social scene, which might be a downside for some people but is an upside for me. I can go work out without worrying about having to talk to people or have awkward interactions around equipment. There aren't tons of people taking selfies or clogging up machines and walkways. It also doesn't get super crowded, which I think is partly because of the price point. Those are all huge pluses for me, but I'm on the more introverted side and just trying to work out, not update my social media or make new friends at the gym. I'm basically paying to remove barriers that usually prevent me from going to regular gyms, plus the classes are quality. I don't have to wait for equipment or deal with a bunch of little obstacles that make me less likely to go. They validate parking, which is another big plus. Between the parking, classes, towels, showers, and amenities, there are basically no barriers. The customer service is also really good, I've never had an unpleasant interaction on my way in or out at the front desk, so the whole experience is low stress. I used someone's referral code from here when I joined and got a gift shop credit/didn't have to pay the initiation fee. Everyone I know has been able to join without paying the invitation fee, so don't pay it, they will find a way to waive it because they want your business. I used someone else's link from reddit, but it got taken down. It got the fee waived and I got a credit, so I'm posting my link in case it helps someone else. https://equinox.com/referrals/003A000001TO5GKIA1 Bottom line is it's worth it if it actually gets you to go or you're already paying for classes somewhere else. If you're already paying for yoga classes somewhere else, that's probably close to $100 a month by itself, and you usually don't get all the extra amenities. For me, the biggest value is that it removes barriers and makes it easy and low stress so I don't avoid it. Having everything provided and not having to plan or prepare makes me much more likely to go consistently and yeah, I could save money and go somewhere else, but I wouldn't go, thus my Equinox membership.
