I like Equinox, mostly because it's the only gym I've ever been able to go to consistently. I'm in…read morePasadena and I pay $240/month. Mine doesn't have a pool. I think whether it's worth it really depends on how you use it. If you're just using it like a normal gym, it's obviously way overpriced. But if you actually take advantage of the classes and amenities, it is worth it. The floor Pilates classes are free but the reformer classes are extra. The classes are really high quality with good instructors. For me especially because I hate packing stuff and they provide everything you need for all classes. Even for yoga, you don't have to bring anything. You just show up and they have mats, bolsters, blankets, and everything is clean and ready to go. For me personally, I use it as an escape because I can hit the steam room and take a shower sort of like a spa pass. They provide all the bath products too. I'm not a huge fan of the products themselves, they are drying kind of like hotel products,, but at least they're there, so I don't have to think about packing anything. Another thing is that it removed a lot of barriers because they provide towels, which are always clean and fluffy (and I don't have to wash). I can show up in workout clothes with a water bottle and everything else is provided. As with any gym, though, it's not worth it if you don't actually use it. It's also not a huge social scene, which might be a downside for some people but is an upside for me. I can go work out without worrying about having to talk to people or have awkward interactions around equipment. There aren't tons of people taking selfies or clogging up machines and walkways. It also doesn't get super crowded, which I think is partly because of the price point. Those are all huge pluses for me, but I'm on the more introverted side and just trying to work out, not update my social media or make new friends at the gym. I'm basically paying to remove barriers that usually prevent me from going to regular gyms, plus the classes are quality. I don't have to wait for equipment or deal with a bunch of little obstacles that make me less likely to go. They validate parking, which is another big plus. Between the parking, classes, towels, showers, and amenities, there are basically no barriers. The customer service is also really good, I've never had an unpleasant interaction on my way in or out at the front desk, so the whole experience is low stress. I used someone's referral code from here when I joined and got a gift shop credit/didn't have to pay the initiation fee. Everyone I know has been able to join without paying the invitation fee, so don't pay it, they will find a way to waive it because they want your business. I used someone else's link from reddit, but it got taken down. It got the fee waived and I got a credit, so I'm posting my link in case it helps someone else. https://equinox.com/referrals/003A000001TO5GKIA1 Bottom line is it's worth it if it actually gets you to go or you're already paying for classes somewhere else. If you're already paying for yoga classes somewhere else, that's probably close to $100 a month by itself, and you usually don't get all the extra amenities. For me, the biggest value is that it removes barriers and makes it easy and low stress so I don't avoid it. Having everything provided and not having to plan or prepare makes me much more likely to go consistently and yeah, I could save money and go somewhere else, but I wouldn't go, thus my Equinox membership.

WOW! Do not go to this club! BEWARE!…read more I went here as a guest as my girlfriend is(was) a member. She had been going here for about 3 years. I would say a dedicated member. This would be my 3rd time coming as a guest. I wanted to show her how I do my kettlebell workout. I am not a professional trainer. I do not work in the fitness industry. I am just someone who likes to stay in shape and I am not a part of any Gym. My Gf is a personal trainer for a living. We started to work out with kettlebells, and I stood of to the side and helped her. Within 5 minutes a manager comes over and says" you are not allowed to do personal training" I said," what does it need to look like so it will not appear to be personal training. I am not training her." The Manager said" if you work out together, doing the same exercise that's ok" So we complied. For the next 45 minutes that is what we did. When we finally got to our last exercise of working out together. The general Manager, Madison Bin,(Super long fake eyelashes) shows up and in a crowded section to let us know we are still engaged in personal training. I asked her," which exercise can you confirm that personal training was going on?" She could not answer. Only to reply" my trainers saw you" Basically, no one saw us and wanted nothing more than to elevate the situation. After escalating the situation in front of their other members, my GF decided to terminate her membership and ask for a refund on the remaining amount. We walk to the lobby and my GF goes to talk to their senior salesman, Benson Frederick. This idiot proceeds to escalate the situation even more by accusing us right away of training and starts to yell at me right away to get out of his office. No discussion. No understanding. Just yelling "get out"! I do not engage with people when they start yelling and I walk out. He would continue to yell and even spell the word "Out" This is how they treat their guest. And if you come in with your significant other or close partner beware. I guess all the trainers think they are Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible and They will treat you like "Osama Bin Training"

Committing to just one gym is difficult when each person goes through their productive, creative, or hibernation periods. I've wanted a place that made me look forward to going and not finding reasons to skip out. After some time with ClassPass, a 45-day workout challenge and a dozen-full of memorable buddy pass classes later, I finally made a decision I've been happy with since. Basecamp for the win. Love their lower to upper to full body workout schedule, the alternation between cardio and strength, the change/rotation of class layouts, their equipment, and of course, the instructors and team themselves. Special appreciation for the 9am goers because they became a solid community for me when I was going through some post-grad life transitions and turbulence. Somehow, when I was considering what to properly invest in while sacrificing to save money from other things, this was a good alternative investment that has sparked back some love for workout classes again. Well-deserved shout outs to Coaches Nick, Jacqueline, and Oliver and the front desk team. If you're looking for a motivating space, it's a good place for a comeback and a fresh start. Yes, I'm talking to you "New Year, New Me'rs". The time is right around the corner and I promise it's a sweet compliment to the place.

But once we got the hang of it, it was a great routine. The instructor was enthusiastic and I learned some new workouts as well! The gym is very clean and equipment very well taken care of. I parked on the street which can be a bit difficult depending when you come. At 7pm, I found one free pretty close by. Would highly recommend checking out this gym if you're looking to signup for classes!

Super fun and amazing workout!!!…read more 1/2 the time is treadmill running. Instructor would tell you to pick up the running speed to 6,7, or 8 but if you can't run like me. I would run as much as I can and then slow it to a jog or speed walk. Go by your own pace. 1/2 time is weights with different exercises. Dumbbells are located against to the walls on the right and left side of the room. The heavier ones are on the left side of the room. Lighter weights are on the right side of the room. We would swap back and forth. From running on treadmill to weight workouts. Instructor would be on his mic and telling us the exercise. Ambiance in the room is really dark but with red lights. Pretty cool to work out in. The gym offers towels for when you sweat. We had a live DJ in the room on the Sunday!! That was pretty cool! Check in early because I had to fill out a form on their computer. There are lockers to put belongings on the right side on the first floor. I like that between classes, there is someone cleaning the equipments and mopping the floor. Upstairs is are more lockers but it's only woman's locker only. There are 3 shower rooms. I love that especially if you're sweating you can just shower and be nice and clean. This gym offers so many amenities like big towels for after showering, body soap, shampoo, and conditioner, face wash, hair dryer, deodorant, q-tip, body lotion, etc. There are metered-street parking. 1 hour parking 9am-6pm except Sunday's. Sundays are free parking, which I didn't know until I got there and was grateful for that so I didn't have to pay. I don't know if there is free parking behind the building or anywhere else. That would be a bit expensive if you're going to this gym every day. There is a restroom upstairs.

Eric is my favorite instructor across all the different Barry locations! Love the Pasadena location…read morethe most because of him. This location has plenty of parking in the back and feels bigger than others since it has an upstairs. Perfect part of Pasadena to be in so you can grab a snack after a great workout

My last night session did that and some much more. I love how you can go on your own pace, and it's suitable if you do have some injuries. It is a really good 55 min workout with high intensity! You will feel so good afterwards!! I had the pleasure of having Bryan for my instructor who was phenomenal!! He is co-owner and super cool. He helped me out before we started and showed me the things we would do for the night!! They even welcomed me with having my name on paper where I can post it in class to be acknowledged. Also, the Music was amazingggg it made the workout fun!! I had a blast!! It's very clean inside and you clean off the apparatus every station change. It's very cute inside and quaint. It's dark but I love that it's dark! It's not intimidating whatsoever and they motivate you!! Customer service was exceptional and very nice!! I signed up for more classes and I am very excited!! Try Bunda you will not regret it!! Good for everyone!! When it's completed they give you a nice cold towel that feels very good! The parking can be bad since it's located in downtown Pasadena. Just arrive a lil earlier if you can. -Marshay D.

Needed to come to Yelp to sing the praises of Bunda Pasadena because this is the BEST customer…read moreservice I have received in at least a decade.... I stopped into today to update my card info after a fraud problem caused me to get a new debit account. While I was there I asked trainer Callie what the 'pause account' policies were. I had signed up as a founding member, but had only managed to attend one class due to an illness then injury. Being a 'founding member' carried enough value that it made more sense to keep it active even if I could not attend. It was my OWN fault I never asked earlier, as I never expected to be out of the training game as long as I was. Callie listened attentively, helped me sign up for the next week under HER name because my account was effectively paused- then said as soon as her manager was available, she would call and see if there was 'something they could do' to credit me for my lost training time. Graciella (hope I'm spelling everyone's name correctly!) called me about 20 minutes later, and graciously (true to the name ;) offered to credit me for THE ENTIRE TIME I MISSED OUT ON!!!! I was so overwhelmed I almost didn't know what to say..... obviously it was very clear I have been paying for months for a service I wasn't able to take advantage of, but this level of generosity is unheard of today! In this age of bots, endless customer service wait times, submitted forms that never get a response, and generally broken promises from merchants, to have a business tell you they would reach out to help, then deliver on that promise in under an hour feels almost like magic. It just never happens anymore, and EVERYONE should know. Particularly in an environment where a person trying to improve and change, that level of support, that feeling of 'I understand- and I GOT YOU'..... you just can't put a price tag on that. These women and this location will have my loyalty forever, I am so grateful. THANK YOU LADIES!!!! PS: I know this review had nothing to do with the workout itself, but the one class I did before I had to take a break totally kicked my ass & I loved it! It's why I kept my account active so long in hopes of returning at least 3 days a week, it's exactly the type of hype & grind I was looking for. Really looking forward to more!
