A beautiful winery as you're driving in and is located along the main strip of vineyards along Alamo Pintado Road. Decent size parking lot. The property itself isn't too big with the tasting room. It's a small space but majority of it is outdoor looking out to the vibes. A nice cottage with a good amount of outdoor seating. Beautiful grassy knoll both right when you walk in and next to the patio and barrel room. Check in pretty easy. This was actually the first time we've been inside the barrel room for a tasting as it's usually on the covered patio. A cute room that seemed like it would be used for private events. Cute and cozy and a nice change. It was utilized for Foley wines which was a nice addition. We're not getting into that whole situation.... Regardless whenever we're here, the visit is always great. Just sitting on one of the patio chairs and just taking things in is alway a nice touch about this place. There something that's calming sitting on that grass with a nice glass of something. The wine on the tasting flight is alway great. Everything we alway tasted has alway been good. That's a good sign. Even if it's just the two of us or with a group, everyone has alway been satisfied. It's smaller but packs a punch with their wines. Glad to have Veronica back.

We were in Los Olivos this past weekend and visited Stolpman on Saturday for a leisurely afternoon…read moretasting. I booked our spot in advance and would recommend you do the same. The place is casual and not tiny, but it definitely fills up. I don't think they were taking walk-ins while we were there. The tasting room--or tasting patio, I suppose--was really pleasant, a breezy outdoor space in front of a charming brick-red house with a strong Los Olivos aesthetic. My only complaint is that the bathroom was a porta-potty, though it was the nice kind, with running water. We got our own table and a friendly, knowledgeable young server brought us our wines and explained what we were drinking. He was busy, so this was one of the less in-depth tastings we did on this trip, but the experience was easy and enjoyable. There were two tastings on offer, the classic estate flight and the "fresh and esoteric." Since this was our first visit, we both went with the estate, and it was a great introduction to Stolpman's wines. We tried the 2025 Sauvignon Blanc, the 2024 Chenin Blanc, the 2024 La Cuadrilla, the 2023 Sangiovese, and the 2024 Angeli, the label's flagship Syrah. They were all excellent and very well priced--the Cuadrilla goes for $26. It's also a delicious wine with a cool provenance, a red blend made by Stolpman's vineyard workers on a designated block, in what looks to be a successful profit sharing project. The tasting fee was $25, waived with a three-bottle purchase. We snapped up three each of the Sauvignon Blanc and the Sangiovese, which cost $24 and $36 a bottle. Tremendous value for such outstanding wines. I have a feeling we'll go through these quickly, and may be tempted to join the wine club if we do. Either way, though, I hope to go back to Stolpman. I'm definitely curious about that second tasting.

My family has been members at Sanford for almost 25 years, so this review is long, long overdue…read more It's hard to put into words just how important Sanford has been to our family over the years. We've celebrated almost every major milestone here, and it has always felt like a second home. Watching the winery evolve while staying true to its roots has been incredible. One of the things we always loved about Sanford was the winemaking style under Steve Fennell. When Trey Fletcher took over, I'll admit we were a little hesitant. It's hard to see change at a place that means so much to you. But wow, Trey has absolutely won us over. The wines have evolved, but they still capture everything that makes Sta. Rita Hills special. There's a clear Burgundy influence, with thoughtful whole-cluster use that adds complexity and structure, but the wines never lose their sense of place. They still showcase the vibrant fruit, acidity, and character of the region while maintaining the backbone to age beautifully. Of course, great wine is only part of the story. The hospitality team has always been fantastic, and every visit feels warm and welcoming. Whether you've been coming for decades like we have or it's your first visit, Sanford has a way of making you feel at home. There are plenty of great wineries in the Sta. Rita Hills, but Sanford will always be the one that means the most to our family. Twenty-five years later, it still feels like home.

The grounds are beautiful, with lush Mountain View's surrounded by nature. It's a small trek to get to the winery, but just cross the bridge and follow the path. There's plenty of outdoor seating with tables and umbrellas. Indoor seating and tasting is also available. I came here because I was in the area, and wanted to purchase two bottles of the Rosè for a party. After sampling it at a recent event; it made me want more! I'm picky when it comes to a Rosè, but this one hit all the right notes. It's 93% Grenache & 7% Marselan. It's light, fruity, a little dry and has the perfect balance of tart & sweet. The best part is the wines here are all organic, environmentally friendly, vegan, no additives, and minimal sulfur. Prices are very reasonable. I wish I could have stayed to do a flight tasting, but I will definitely return. Thank you Cody for helping me out during my visit here. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Jenny and Cody were so hospitable towards me and my doggos (bonus points!). They were very knowledgeable of the wines and the region. I like that their wines are organic. The wines are all very light and refreshing. I don't usually buy bottles to take home but I bought two here! I would love to come back the next time I'm in town.
