Crooked, lazy, and price gougers. They towed my mother's car and she needed to pick it up on a holiday weekend. At first they said there would only be a $3 difference in cost between picking up the car Monday or Tuesday. She went to pick it up Monday and they said ok now we decided it will be $200 cheaper if you come back tomorrow instead (raised Mon price by $100 and dropped Tues $100). Of course she comes back Tues and they have now RAISED the original pickup price by $80 instead of dropping it $100 dollars. Stay away from this awful business. read more

With all the bad weather in Seattle my boyfriend called and let them know he was stuck and couldn't get car out of there until it cleared up a little. They said it was fine and understood. He kept communication with them but they still sent a letter stating they were going to sell it at auction if it wasn't picked up. I hope no one gives them business because they acted like they understood the situation. But sent me letters and called the bank that the car loan is through anyway. read more

Called both Gene Meyer and Special Interest towing for quotes on pulling my dead CTS V caddy to the shop (see my review on Goodyear/GoodNeighbor on 3rd st, Renton same date for a good shop). Gene Meyer's gave me quote at $75 for the hook up fee and $4.75 per mile. Special Interest initially quoted me 75 hook up and 3.75 per mile, but then I mentioned I am a resident of Cambridge Villa apts who has a contract with Special Interest and was immediately given lower rates of $65 for hook up and 2.75 per mile. Mileage exactly 2.0 miles so ended up paying $77 (includ taxes) for total charge, probably about $20 cheaper than what I would have gotten through Gene Meyer. Two caveats: 1. Derick, driver with Spc Interest, took extra time to put my caddy on rear dolly so the low ride was not injured in transit. Very professional and considerate in action; very amicable and a good guy in conversation. 2. I waited better part of two hours (at home, retired so not an issue for me, but something to make certain you ask about if you are stranded or in a hurry...simply ask for response times and call around to others e.g. Gene Meyer). I might ding Special Interest a point here as I was in a "moment" with my gf just as the truck arrived, but honestly, I really, REALLY wanted to get my car back up and well, for the "moment", Derick was just more important. Brian and Edgar from Special Interest Towing were awesome! My trailblazer broke down due to a bad battery in Maple Valley. My insurance company called several local towing companies and no one was available to help. I call Special Interest Towing and Edgar was there with in 30 minutes. The service was fast and friendly. my apartments I just moved into at the beginning of the month. I call around 6:00 pm And ask the price of my vehicle. The told me around $325 because there's a after hour fee and they're not open on the weekends so I ask when will the price go up? They told me it won't go up until after 2:00 pm the following day but they're closed on the weekends so I had to make a appointment. I called the next day which was Saturday morning and made a appointment for noon. I get there and do the paperwork and the total is $345 And some change after tax and a 3% card fee. She gives me my receipt I signed that says $345 and change but when I check my card statement the next day it. Says they charged me $457 and some change. I contact them the following monday and Try to fix it but Shawney at special interest towing told me the person that I did business with that day Messed up and didn't charge me a after hours fee and told me it's done take it to court. This is not right I dont have this money to be giving away. I'm 25, have kids and out of work due to COVID and now I'm not going to be able to pay my rent. People shouldn't be treated this way. I feel like I got scammed and there was nothing I could do about it. I shouldn't be punished. I was cooperative and got lied too. This is the worst tow company ever. Their employees suck. They tagged my truck and towed it the same day my fiancee was having emergency surgery. They allow employees to assult other employees. Justin has a bad mouth. He cusses out people and is just plain rude. It takes them forever to respond. I was told they only have two drivers no one wants to work for them they can't keep good employees. Their General Manager is a jerk. He gets paid to do nothing. Their driver supervisor is a joke. He only cares when it benefits him. Also, their driver supervisor likes to threaten former employees. Their GM does nothing when he is told about an issue at work. He always says that he is too busy to handle it. Also, never sign anything that states you will pay back damage claims because if and when you leave before it is paid off, they will take your entire paycheck. read more

The customer service with special interest towing was horrible. I've never experienced such bad service. The person working that evening was Tara. They towed my car and when calling to schedule the pick-up, she tried to convince me to do it during business hours because it required her to dispatch someone to come help me out. I needed my car that evening so took an Uber to the location. She said the driver would be at the car yard in 15-30 minutes. We waited and waited and waited and after an hour of waiting and multiple calls to inquire about ETA, her attitude and just outright rudeness was shocking to the point where she hung up on me 3 times when I called to ask about the drivers whereabouts. I'm shocked Tara is able to keep her job with the lack of common courtesy and professionalism. I'm sure nothing with happen to her since she works for a towing company and I'm sure they are not known for great customer service but Tara should be fired for the way she treated us. read more

Horrible business. They are very rude & money hungry. The lady that claimed to be the manager needed to go ask someone else the answer to any of my questions. I was concerned about the price for their services, if you can even call it that, & I was told that I shouldn't have ran my car into a ditch. The lady was on her cell phone having a personal conversation while I was trying to ask her a question. It was just a horrible experience. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Ran myself into a ditch on a rainy night, no street lights around and apparently a meth lab crackhead encampment nearby. Called the sheriff and they came by and brought the guys from Special Interest. Justin and Charles were so nice and professional, they got my car out with some seriously awesome moves. I'm so thankful that they showed up when they did, because come on, stranded in the middle of nowhere thinking about all the different ways this can turn into a horror movie is not that fun in real life. My car was towed from my apartment complex while i was on a work trip. i get home to a letter in the mail that was an " intent to sell" notice so they can get there money back on the tow. on the notice it states that they WILL NOTIFY ME of any money owed on the difference of "tow fee- sale price". fast forward 1 1/2 yrs. I have not heard from this fine establishment but yet get served with lawsuite papers regarding money owed to a collections agency that they sold my account to. On, the night of 09-24-13, I park on a reserved space from the apartments I live they got my car I know not your foult, next Morning I went and Pay $260. Total. with NOT any argu is not your employees fault, I took a wrong decition, MY Real problem became when I fund out, The driver stole my toolbox out my van! I know I have no way to prove it,He said me, But I know and HE knows the box was there! He shows me all the pictures he had from my van it was a folding mountain bike, ipod, stereo and a lot of staff never got stole, I used the tools to open a door by 10:40pm I know was there and I have never got anyone try to open my car even with the door not working, he said the door was open I'm agree, the door dont work! he is trying to said by the time he had there someone else break into the car! I dont buy it it was more value staff, He took the box, and took the picures, He's right I CAN'T prove it,, All I asked was to speak with the supervisor and never happens.
