It all started on April 19th, 2022. John sent me my first tune for my 2014 FBO Hyundai Veloster Turbo. The excitement I felt was immense. The tune was quality, my car on the other hand was not. Throughout the tuning experience with John at Tork motorsports my car continued to reject the tunes he was sending me, either not running right, misfiring, and all sorts of other problems. This back and forth continued for around a year until just last week. For the majority of this back and forth the response and customer service was timely. Usually, 2-3 days for a new revision, one out of 31 he sent me, never giving up on making my car perfect. Even with me bugging him, calling the shop, and triple emailing him, he always got back to me in a professional manner. I have no doubt in my mind that for a small portion of time that I was probably his least favorite customer as my car was causing him much stress. Through and through the ideas kept coming and tunes kept sending. Don't get me wrong, at times there was doubt in my mind about this whole project being completed. but through thick and thin the car was eventually perfect. Fixing ignition pack issues, fueling, spark plug and boost issues from 100's of mile away shows how well John knows this platform. I understand some people when discussing John's attitude etc, but being honest, the tuning/automotive business isn't the nicest group of people. A bunch of angry impatient people calling him about something that he has either no control over or too overworked to get too, I'd be stressed and mad sometimes too lmao. You simply can't be nice to everyone, and I am truly happy to say that I got the good side of John for the most part. Just last week I had called and thanked him for his work finishing a tune for a E-70 revision that we had been working on for quite some time. I called to let him know that the car had been totaled and the journey was over. He seemed genuinely happy that I was ok physically at least(lol). Given recent times and shortages I had to wait a bit longer than expected but they got everything ironed out and sent me out just about everything. Very worth the wait and super high quality. While installing the parts I noticed something missing and a short call later they got it to me the next day!! I was skeptical at first with the mixed reviews of John and the shop online but have yet to see any issues. Their customer support and fabrication work is absolutely fantastic! John tuned my car and did a great job, I had a issue with my aftermarket dump valve failing then a issue with the wiring loom making the stock one fail also and all the switching of parts and moving of wires just exacerbated the shorting issue and he was very helpful with my questions and very patient with my lack of knowledge. read more

I placed an order 10 days ago and have not heard anything whatsoever from Tork. I've sent emails and tried calling numerous times to check if they had even received or were working on my order. No response at all. Starting to consider disputing the charge to my bank so that I can get my money back since there is no way to cancel the order online or get a hold of anyone to cancel the order. I placed and order and even after some lead time, about a month, I received the wrong part, and other very low quality parts, that dont even add up to the amount of the transaction, which was very small but nonetheless they expect me to pay shipping to return the parts, whilst still holding on to my money. Short review: The Good: Tork Motorsports Inc is passionate about what they do, and it shows Cleaner work areas in the shop than many doctors offices Good selection of over the counter parts Takes the time to understand what you want to accomplish The power coating service and material is outstanding Price is competitive (best case scenario) The Bad: Rarely answers their phone Rarely returns voice messages Business hours of 10am to 7pm are more in theory than practice Poor communication while work is in process Estimate isn't very accurate and should be viewed as a "best case" Appointments and delivery dates are meaningless Reassembly is at your own risk - Tork's being behind scheduled equaled lack of attention to detail in my case Summary: If you are going for power coating service, get everything in writing (list of parts, what will be done, when it will be done and what the cost will be), take the parts off yourself (or by a qualified professional) and put them back on. Establish an expectation that any changes to the price/time frame or materials be authorized by you. Long review: I brought my car in for the power coating service. Had a consultation with the owner, John. We discussed taking the parts off before the service or having his shop do that as well. We identified the parts to be power coated, the expected turn around time, and an cost "estimate". Set an appointment for a week later. Arrived at the shop to drop my car off at the agreed appointment time. Shop was closed. Waited 45 minutes for someone to show up. They had no record of the appointment. Handed the keys over to a shop employee and clarified what Tork would be doing, as agreed on with John. Arranged a pick up date/time. Pick up time came, and I arrived to pick the car up. It wasn't done yet; as a matter of fact not much of the project was. I was never notified. I asked why this was, and was told that another customer delivered their car a day earlier than their scheduled appointment (nearly a week after I dropped my car off), so they were working on that car instead. We agreed on a new delivery date. Called the shop the day of the rescheduled delivery date. There was no answer, so I left a voicemail. Didn't get a call back. Showed up at the agreed time. Still wasn't done. Suggested I come back in a few hours, which I did. A few hours later it was ready. I went to pay and the total was more than twice the estimate (from $315 to $735). I was never notified of this change either. I voiced my disappointment, and asked for a $35 discount. The response was (verbatim) "Sure, ok, if you want to nit-pick". Left the shop and started to drive home (a 44 mile round trip btw, now driven 4x) when I got a call... they forgot a to put a part back on. I turned around, had it installed and left again. Of the trip back one of the parts that was power coated came loose (1 side completely disconnected), which disabled the car. I called and left a voicemail explaining what had happened and asking if I could get some assistance (this was at 10pm by now, so I didn't expect anyone to answer; more of a shot in the dark). I never got a call back. Not the next day, next week or ever. Brought the car to a mechanic to verify that everything was put back on correctly.. while the mechanic test drove the car a different part that was power coated by Tork came loose, disabling the car on the side of the road again. Once the car was back home, I discovered that some of the parts that were supposed to be power coated had been. They were not important enough to justify going back or asking for a partial refund. read more

Bad tuning, sub par products and their employees belittle you if you have an issue or file a complaint. Stay away from this company. Ordered a DCC over a year ago. Welds had holes in them. Took over 2 weeks to get a refund and I had to front shipping back to their shop for something that was THEIR fault. Avoid them. Their track record of blown engines and childish tactics are well know. Recently they made a list of people, some customers, some not and started posting them all over the internet calling these people "chode mouth breathers". If you have a FIAT, drop your keys off here. I originally had a Fiat 500 Abarth which I sadly never had the opportunity to bring to these folks. After a few changes of pace and a series of unfortunate events, I ended up with the new 124 Abarth Spider. John and his team eagerly consulted with me and gave me a game plan to start the process of getting my car some more street-fun power. They started off by showing off some of their custom fabrication skill by building me a one of a kind downpipe (there are NONE on the market to this day) which was both built perfectly but also opened up a huge dead zone in my car's power band. Even better? They dyno'd it to prove it. That is how your speed shop should be! I am very excited to work with this team with this new car. Huge compliments to John, the owner of this business and his accomplishments in the Fiat tuning world. His passion and knowledge of this new wave of small turbo power trains is kicking off. Bought their hand held and a tune for $800 off of their website (DamnFastDD) , installed it and my car immediately started throwing a P0299 (underboost code) went back and forth with John for seven, yes you're reading that rite 7 months !! trying to get it fixed, every time he told me to check this or that, after I did and none of the things he told me to check where the issue he assured me he would work on a revised tune. Five months go by with me emailing him once a month asking about the revised tune and him assuring me it would be done before the end of the week every time, for him to never send a revised tune. $800 wasted and lesson learned. Buyer beware, This is a horrible company with even worse customer service. I wish I had done my research before buying anything from them because with a little bit of digging after this whole ordeal I have found out I'm not the only person they've done this to and that's just in the Dodge and Fiat 1.4 L multiair community I haven't even dig around in the other forums for cars they do tunes for. Do yourself a favor and go with a reputable company for an OTS tune such as Cobb, Eurocompulsion, or Mountune just to name a few and if you're trying to get your car protuned please seek out an actual professional and not this group of shade tree mechanics. read more
