Surrounded by 42 acres of open corn fields, sunflowers, tomatoes, watermelons, and other organic vegetables, you'll appreciate simpler, natural times. We stayed in the spacious Rock n Roll cottage. Inspired by our cottage theme, we played our favorite music during the days (without the fear of disturbing anyone) and enjoyed stargazing on our private porch at night. The room was well cleaned every day and supplied with ample towels for our days on the lake. The terrific hosts (R and F) kept the main house open for us to use the kitchen, access to free drinks and fruits, and access to Internet (I strongly urge you to stay off-line as long as possible). Her staff was so kind and attentive, and the whole event flowed effortlessly thanks to their care and presence. Guests kept commenting on how beautiful everything was, but also how relaxed and fun the day felt. There was no pretense or pressure--just love, laughter, tacos (SO GOOD), and pure joy. Rachel also helped us source our hair and makeup artist (who was amazing), our dessert vendor (adorable and delicious), and even supported our late-night In-N-Out plan. We always felt welcomed, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were clean and well cared for. Unfortunately, over time, we have noticed a significant change in both the level of service and the way guests are treated. Tonight's experience was particularly upsetting. I was included on a reservation with friends and had planned to stay at the lodge with them. My plans changed, and I needed to return home, so I stopped by the room for only a few minutes to let my friends know. While I was sitting outside the room, management came to the door and informed me that I would need to pay an additional $60 simply for being there--even though I was already included on the reservation and was only there briefly before leaving. I found this extremely disappointing and difficult to understand. I wasn't an unregistered visitor attempting to stay overnight. I was a guest listed on the reservation whose plans had changed and who stopped by briefly before heading home. What bothers me most isn't simply the $60 charge. It's the way the situation was handled and the feeling that, after years of staying at your lodge and supporting your business, the warmth and hospitality we once experienced seem to be gone. We have many wonderful memories of staying here, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. I sincerely hope management will reconsider how situations like this are handled and remember that hospitality and the way longtime guests are treated matter just as much as policies and fees.

I walked over and received confusing instructions from the bartender along with the keys on how to get to our room. Up the stairs we went the first time and saw no doors with a key card so we went all around the building because of course the elevator was broken. We then tried inside again and realized the rooms were located behind a heavy door. Finally we lugged all of our things up two hot flights of stairs and into a hot room. My child had been excited to go swimming and then he realized the pool was freezing and that made him feel really frustrated. We did enjoy the huge tub in the bathroom but unfortunately the jets were broken. We also noticed there was street construction right outside the hotel but hoped it would've been daytime only, boy were we wrong. The construction went on all night and nobody was able to sleep despite a loud noise machine. Also anytime the AC turned off it would make such a loud sound in the living room that my child wasn't able to sleep. The next morning we rushed to shower and get ready and of course the power went out for about 10 minutes in the morning. Overall rating 1 star only because the main bed was comfortable. But the fact that there was all night construction right outside and the hotel didn't bother to let us know ahead of time or even tell us that they were closed and what my check in/check out instructions were made it all the worst.
