We had a lovely visit at Brassfield Estate this past weekend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a child with us, o we had to sit outdoors which wasn't ideal in the heat of summer, but they had plenty of shaded patio furniture to relax on, so it wasn't unbearable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They offer iced spring water for no charge which I greatly appreciated. The wines were great! $20 for a flight of 5 plus a welcome pour of rosé. We enjoyed the all and came home with 4 bottles (which waved both of our tasting fees). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The grounds are BEAUTIFUL and full of wildlife. Squirrels, deer, butterflies, dragonflies, birds, wild turkeys, and even a tiny frog that we found in one of the bathroom sinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was excellent as well. Our server had a ton of knowledge about the grounds and family operating the winery. She was very pleasant and hospitable. We learned a lot. I will definitely return again if in the area. This estate is absolutely gorgeous, I was absolutely amazed. I got started off with the flight that has 1 rose, 2 whites, and 2 reds. All were quite good, but the reds were my absolutely favorite, and I'm usually not a red wine fan. I got a glass of the pinot noir afterwards because it was so so good. What a lovely experience overall. I was visiting in the Clearlake area and was brought to Brassfield for a wine tasting experience (my first proper tasting at a winery, which shocks me to even write). It was a warm day with a consistent breeze and sitting in the shade was quite lovely. Caroline was an absolute peach of a host and wine-tender and made our experience that much more special. The wine was DELICIOUS. Literally didn't taste anything I didn't like. I ended up buying two bottles and bringing them home. The charcuterie board was 10/10. The presentation deserved an award and we ate every last bite. If I didn't live so far away, I'd want to bring guests here often. This winery is very beautiful. And there wine is very good. There service was good. The tasting is 20. I'm not normally a white wine fan but the serenity is really good I bought two bottles for the summer. I would of liked to try more red wine but we just bought them to take home. We enjoyed the warm baguette with olive oil and balsamic. I called ahead to see if we can bring food too and so we brought some local olives. read more

This is a MUST DO if you're around Clearlake! I went with my bachelorette party and we had the best experience! We chose this winery because we had some under 21 guests and non-drinkers and they were very accommodating. This place is beautiful. We were just staying nearby and looking for something to do as a family. This place is nothing but welcoming, especially with our distracting kids. Caroline is patient, warm and friendly. Gave us very good tips to help us appreciate the tasting. Since we had kids with us, she provided interesting information to engage my older kid. She walked us over to look at the baby owl that was napping in the property. We brought our own snacks and ordered their wonderful charcuterie board. This place is beautiful. The building is amazing. The entrance is grand. The site has two stories filled with sculptures, artwork, a huge chandelier and more. Did I mention it is beautiful? The grounds are also amazing. Lots of outdoor nooks to have privacy while you sip wine and eat. The fountain in the courtyard (from one of Clark Gables homes) is a great focal point. The wines were the best we sampled all day. We also got a warm baguette with olive oil and balsamic. It was soo hot and fresh and perfect. It looked like 2 baguettes. It was well worth the cost. They also have charcuterie platters and picnic baskets for purchase with cute red checkered tablecloths and wine and glasses and lunch. If we hadn't just eaten I would have loved to try that. The staff there were all so friendly and attentive. It didn't matter who your server was, anytime someone walked by they asked how we were doing. This gem is as good if not better than most wineries I have seen in the Napa Valley. If you are ever in the area I highly recommend you make the time to enjoy a few hours at Brassfield Estate Winery. If you ever are in, Lake County, this winery is a must see. It's gorgeous to say the least. When we moved here a few years ago I went to check it out and was shocked to find this castle like setting on top of the ridge. I have been a wine club member ever since. The staff here are all extremely fun and going in for tastings is always a treat. They have charcuterie for purchase if u want food with your tastings, and also have outside seating. Christina was our wine connosuier that gave us the tasting. She is very knowledgeable of the wine and the winery. Although there is no tour of the vineyard yet, she gave us a great history of the winery. Christina is really sweet. It was my first time at Clearlake and I asked for recommendations of places to eat and she quickly made a suggestion and even made dinner reservations for me. What awesome service! If you are in Clear lake or vicinity you must give this winery a try. We visited the winery when we stayed at Clearlake Oaks and the five star reviews are all real. Location of the winery is a few miles from the Clearlake oaks town over a twisting rough road with loose gravel on it so be prepared for it. At the end of the road is the an impressive gate that leads into the main winery building and tasting area. The property is beautiful starting right at the gate with tree lined road leading up to the main building. The place was not at all crowded even though it was a labor day weekend. Car parking consists of green grass parking which was something I don't see very often. There is a nice garden with a fountain, trees and lots of green grass etc. Kids enjoyed playing the garden. Wine tasting room is huge with great hosts. Tasting costs $10 which seemed like a good price for five pours of different types of wines. Our host Caroline was super attentive and shared a lot of great information about the wine and winery. We ended up purchasing their speciality wine called Eruption and a picnic basket worth $55. The picnic basket had a baguette with cheese, salami, pickles etc sufficient for 3-4 adults depending on how hungry you are. There are a lot of space to sit down and enjoy your wine and food and overall it was a very good experience. We will come back here if I ever visit the clear lake area again. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! Happened to go over the memorial day weekend, and they had quite the festivities. Their flights were discounted, there were lots of people hanging around the outdoor area as well as indoors. The staff was super nice, and they had a guitar player who sang who is really good. The ambience was excellent, the sky was slightly overcast so it wasn't hot... And it was just a pleasurable experience. A very nice short drive from the Resort we stayed at in Glenhaven. The place is definitely nice with a chandelier in the tasting room and a beautiful Fountain outside. I bought some Red Syrah that was quite tasty. You can pay for tasting but it's more economical to buy a bottle because they waive the tasting fee. Nestled in a beautiful valley in Lake County California sits a wine oasis... Better known as Brassfield Winery. Off the beaten path but WELL worth the trip, you arrive at their beautiful wrought iron gate and drive between two fields of Bordeaux style grown vines. Park on their grass parking lot and make your way to their tasting room. The scenery, architecture and manicured landscaping as you walk to the tasting room makes you feel as though you have been transported to some remote part of Italy or France. Open the large doors and enter a beautifully walnut wood appointed room with a large chandelier and a smiling face behind a bar ready to take you on a wine journey! This is one of the many visits I have had to this winery, but today I arranged for a personalized tour of the vineyard and wine caves followed by a cheese and wine pairing. Jeff was our tour guide on our chilly and occasionally rainy April tour day! Our tour was amazing!! It started with a brief walking tour outside the tasting room. Jeff discussed in detail the impact the volcanic soil has on the character of their wines, and entertained questions about their huge Oak trees. After learning about the pair of lion fountains that once lived with Clark Gable and still face each other though are thousands of miles apart, we climbed into a van and road into this beautiful picturesque vineyard landscape! Jeff provided historical references to the start of Brassfield's winery, the vision, where and why certain varietals of grapes were planted. Next we toured a couple sections of the purported 65,000 square feet of wine caves- the vision for this huge space is amazing! Lastly, we arrived back at the tasting room to experience a variety of Brassfield wines paired with some great cheeses! Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Petit Syrah and Elevado (their version of a port). Jeff walked us through the cheeses and the wines. Honestly... I loved ALL of them... how often does that happen?? Jeff was very professional, informative, engaging and had a great sense of humor! Do yourself a wine flavor and visit this Winery! Just a hop over the ridge from Napa Valley away from extreme car congestion lies a 3000 acre oasis for you to relax and wine in! Cheers!! read more
