Warning: fraudulent Business Practices I strongly advise avoiding this shop. My vehicle has been in their possession for over a month, and they have engaged in fraudulent practices. Parts that were approved and paid for by my insurance company--such as brand-new headlights--were not installed. Instead, the shop kept the payment and reinstalled the old parts. This type of conduct is unacceptable, unethical, and potentially fraudulent. Consumers deserve transparency, honesty, and proper repairs, none of which I experienced here. read more

I was referred to this company by Maserati of Santa Monica, which is the only reason I trusted them. That trust was completely betrayed. This business contacted my insurance company directly and instructed them to mail the claim check -- nearly $24,000 -- to their own address. They then forged my signature on that check and deposited it, claiming repairs had been completed on my car when no such repairs were ever performed. When confronted, they tried to excuse this conduct by saying their employees committed fraud and that the company itself had "nothing to do with it." That excuse is meaningless. A company is fully responsible for its employees' actions -- and in this case, it was outright insurance fraud, forgery, and theft. This is not only dishonest, it is a criminal act. I strongly caution anyone against doing business with them and urge my insurance company, Maserati corporate, and law enforcement to treat this with the seriousness it deserves. read more

Worst decision ever in taking my car over here. Was referred to this body shop from the Maserati dealer of Santa Monica and I didn't anticipate the abnormally long time the car would be left sitting at the body shop. Took them 3 whole months to fix this completely minor damage that I had received in a parking lot. The time was not the worse experience at all as these guys would never shut up or stop bothering you with calls to upsell you other services or to state that insurance wouldn't cover certain things and make you foot the bill. I paid for a full interior detail and the vehicle came back in the same condition as given with worsen sticky buttons which every Maserati, jaguar, etc owners of 2000s vehicles would know about. They also won't give you any invoices and will play dumb saying that they had already sent them out. If you'd like to be constantly harassed over upsell calls and have your vehicle away for an abnormally long time this is the body shop for you. read more

I am sooo disappointed. I gave Specialty Car Craft a glowing review a few years ago, but something has changed. I discovered that they are no longer in the same location, which was a huge garage/ body shop, but are now located a block away in a tiny office and very crowded parking lot. The small paint repair I had done looks good, but the wheel well part I paid for and they told me they ordered, has never arrived. I have called many times, left messages, stopped by the office, all to no avail. My car is a 2021 TeslaY and I always keep my new cars in perfect shape, so this really bothers me, as it has been over 4 months and I am still waiting. I reached out to Steve, the owner of Specialty Car Crat and Specialty Car Collection in hopes of garnering some support. We'll see. By the way, Steve just responded, within 5 minutes and told me how difficult it is getting Tesla parts and they no longer work on Teslas as a result. He offered to refund the money paid for the part. After my vehicle was damaged after I was read ended in an automobile accident, I took my car to Universal City Nissan to find out if they recommended a particular body shop. I was referred to a representative from Specialty Car Craft, who had an office at Universal City Nissan. I went with the recommendation of Universal City Nissan recommendation of Specialty Car Craft. However, it ended up being a costly mistake. My insurance company ended up making my car a total loss. I was charged almost $500 for an "administration fees" for the body shop even inspecting my vehicle. I was also charged $175 a day for storage fees for my vehicle. I was never notified by the bodyshop that my car had been totaled and to pick it up. After not hearing anything for days, I called them to inquire about the status of my vehicle. By that point the fees and ballooned to over $900. My insurance company then took that $900 off the top of what they determined the value of my vehicle to be. I should have been notified of such exorbitant fees before I let them take my car. I should have been contacted when it was determined that my vehicle dame was determined to be a total loss. I know one place I will definitely not be looking to purchase a new car at, Universal City Nissan. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. read more

I picked up my 2011 BMW 328I after THREE months at SCC. I went in for some rear and front cosmetic damage from an accident. My Car now drives like a rusted bucket. Don't get me wrong, they did a fantastic job on the body. (As they should for three months of having it). But mechanically speaking, they completely ruined my car. This is the first car I've ever owned, and I've owned it for over 6 years now. And its sad that it's been taken advantage off by Armen and his team at SCC. My drive is no longer smooth, now my car wobbles from left to right making it feel unsafe. Secondly they swamped my Great BMW original Horn for a cheap 1999 Honda horn, again, making me doubt the safety of my own car fresh from the body shop. Last and definitely not least, when my cars parked and the engines running, you can hear this constant "rrr-rrr-rrr" sound coming from the engine. This last one makes me think that it's very unsafe to drive at high speeds. All in All, SCC has fully taken advantage of me and my car. And if I didn't beat TESTICULAR CANCER last year, I would be LIVID. I'm honestly saying to everyone, please watch out for these individuals. Please do not get scammed like I was. read more

Best I can surmise is that don't take a non-exotic car. They missed stuff on my estimate. Did not help with with the insurance co. Improperly reassembled car (broken tabs, misalignment, etc) and were reluctant to fix. Paint is mediocre (black Honda) - you can see where they've been. Didn't want a check as payment (you have no idea how much trouble this caused with the insurance company). Were remarkably reluctant to provide a statement / receipt proving I paid them. Antenna was saggy when I got car back. Probably didn't remove it and draped a heavy cover on the car. Scratch on rear of car that was not there before they had the car. Took WAAAAAAAAAY longer to repair car than promised. They had the car for about 40 days. I'm sure they do great work. They just didn't do great work for me and didn't stand behind it. I've heard second hand about another non-exotic car being given poor service here. Consider your average self warned. Oh, and SCC, feel free to contact this schmuck to set things right. read more

Okay, here's my story... My car gets victimized by some hit and run ***wipe, leaving its rear rear quarter-panel and bumper a mess. After tapping into some Zen-like state of "letting go" of my desire to hunt down the coward who smashed up my ride, I filed my paperwork and got the okay from my insurance to get my baby repaired. So I go to SCC on the recommendation of a friend (he's part of the Lotus crew) and, to be honest, was a little intimidated by the prospect of pulling my 370z into a lot filled with high-end exotics. But let me tell you, the folks at SCC make you feel right at home as soon as they see you walking up! I felt like I was just as valuable to them with my little Nissan as I would have been had I rolled up in any of the many Lotus(es, i?) Lambos or Bentleys they were working on. They are perfectionists, and a joy work with. You can tell these are car enthusiasts who happen to have a body shop, not people who figured out that working on cars can put money in the bank. Needless to say, they did a great job with the body work and I'd go back to them in heartbeat. By the way, their new space (opening soon) is AMAZING!!!
