Jack came to allegedly provide an estimate for a siding installation job at my residence. He responded as scheduled but no estimate was ever presented even after following up with him several weeks after the appointment. He assured us he was following up with the vendor or supplier and that an estimate would be sent soon. That never happened. Don't waste your time scheduling or showing these guys your project, your time will be wasted, instead I'd go with Ameriside. They know how to provide good service and provide actual estimates. read more

Mark and Roger do an excellent job, are friendly, and quick. They've now replaced almost all of the windows in my house and we couldn't be more pleased. The 5 star rating is mainly because of them. Getting in touch with the company to setup installation can be troublesome so you'll have to be patient. They will get to you it just takes awhile sometimes. Specialty Siding re-sided our 3000 foot home and did a poor job at best. The owner had to fire the first crew that was assigned to our home. They could not cut a straight line. The contractor was at our home only a few tImes to check on problems we pointed out. As a representative of James Hardie siding, I was shocked and extremely disappointed. Epic failure! They called on the day of the appointment to give a more precise time & arrived on time! Hardie Siding I regret to say that my experience with this company is similar to the other recent reviews. Despite its "Hardie Preferred" status, the owner and the workers have no idea how to install Hardie siding. They did a terrible job that had no likeness to even the most basic of installation requirements much less the Best Practices that all Hardie Preferred Contractor's must follow. They installed defective planks and installed them properly. They did not install the flashing and installed the windows incorrectly and damaged them. They promised to redo the project and then let my house sit for six months while they did nothing. I caught them trying to install the windows without the proper flashing gland they did not bother to fasten the plywood to the foundation. They ruined the sheet metal flashing and then tried to hide it. They cut the plywood too short and tried to hide it from me. When I pointed this out they said I was being picky. Had I not been watching their every move then I would Not have noticed and my house would have fallen down. I cannot imagine that a Hardie Preferred installer would have absolutely no knowledge of how to install siding but either they did not know how to install or they chose to install incorrectly to save money. Frankly I think that one person somewhere in this company must have gone through the training at some point and everyone else is hired from somewhere with absolutely no training. I hope no one else has to go through what I've gone through Awful. Terrible. It's like they were angry that I caught them instead of sorry for their shoddy work. Beware. read more

Specialty siding did the window replacement at our house. Mark and Roger replaced over 20 windows. They were extremely punctual very friendly very courteous very helpful. They notice that our house is clean and they were sure to make sure that they didn't make it dirty themselves. They were here to replace windows and they actually helped us fix our sliding glass door and helped us repair screen door roller wheels along with window locks. We were very grateful for that. We had to wait for our custom color siding to be ordered and shipped, but immediately upon receiving the siding, we were contacted for arrangements to begin tear off and installation, EXACTLY as promised. 08-25-2017: Mark and Roger returned today to make repairs based upon the trouble ticket they submitted for us. We will see them again as Associated Materials apparently cannot read and failed to provide all components required. Mark and Roger called and gave us a 30 minute heads up, arriving as expected. We always ask out-of-town people to call to give us warning that they are going to arrive soon; these are the ONLY ones that do that. They are professional and friendly - and they know their windows! They completed the repairs they could, and once again, documented issues to submit to Associated Materials for us. I wish all of my employees were as friendly, dedicated and professional. We recently purchased a new home in south Orange County. During the warranty period we had several windows replaced due to seal failure. The warranty period ended about 7 months ago and, sure enough, two more windows with seal failure. I contacted the builder and, of course, got referred to a company in the midwest to make my claim (windows are warranted for life). After about 6 weeks the windows arrived at Specialty Siding. Based on some of the YELP reviews I thought I was in for a struggle. Didn't happen. I called Specialty Siding and spoke to Debbie. Very nice and very helpful. She verified that they had the glass and set an appointment for TWO days later. I thought sure my appointment would be weeks down the road. I also spoke to Elizabeth during the process and she was also very nice and helpful. The day of the install we had a 2 hour window. We got a call from Roger during the window period and he told us when he would be there. He and Nathan arrived well within the window period. Roger and Nathan did a great job and we are very pleased. Roger explained what he was going to do. They were very careful with the glass and very considerate of our property (they even wore shoe covering during the short time they were in the house). After the install they cleaned the glass and cleaned up where they were working. We couldn't be happier with the service we've received from Specialty Siding. All the employees we dealt with should be commended for their courtesy and professionalism. read more

If you have infinite patience and enjoy being treated poorly by the office staff - namely Liz....she's a real treat - this is the company for you. While the end result was about a 7 out of 10 (looks pretty good), the process was nothing short of infuriating. Crews typically didn't start work until 11AM or later each day, we never knew if/when people were coming, and a job that was quoted as "5 days to complete" took more than 4 weeks to install. Excuse after excuse, no show after no show, and mistake after mistake. We were delayed several weeks because measurements were incorrect, the paint job done to our trim was sloppy at best (they STILL have not come back to complete and our final walk through was well before Christmas), and while they allege that they do not use subcontractors, we say 4 different crews throughout our installation process. No one answers the phone, no one responds to emails, and no one will communicate with you about what is happening. With dogs, kids and a home office, suffice it to say the lack of professional courtesy wore us down after the first few weeks. Terrible customer service, especially in the back office. Will be interested to see if they EVER come back to fix the botched paint job. Not holding my breath. read more

We were sent out two different sales people The first one Eric was really condescending and basically told us we couldn't afford the siding we want before asking anything about us or our budget.
