The service from Julian at this store was great. In fact, I even went to a different store just so I could pick up my phone from him. However, when I started to experience some problems with my phone, I had to deal with Giuseppe, the manager. He was not at all helpful and very condescending. He told me that my phone was getting hot because I was talking on it and I should just text instead. I went back to the store 3 times and never got any help for the problem. I called Verizon and they suggested updating to the latest IOS and that helps. The worst part was that I only bought the phone because I was told that the phone was free if I paid off my existing phone and turned it in. Well, according to Verizon that is not true. I am now paying for my free phone. This store is a Verizon reseller, not a Verizon corporate store. Do not go there. read more

I had a great experience at this location. Tyler, the Verizon rep who helped me upgrade to an iPhone 15 was smart, friendly and experienced. He got me the phone I wanted for only 3 bucks a month without messing with my existing plan, which was important to me. Tyler also helped me transfer everything from my old phone without any issues. Saving a bunch of money and avoiding any hassles is worth a 5 star review IMO read more

Turns out this is a franchise location, meaning you will pay a $40 "store fee" for the privilege of buying a phone from this location. Verizon corporate locations don't charge this fee... The downside is corporate stores are often more crowded. Recently purchased a cell phone for my daughter. During my initial visit, I found the representative to have little knowledge of the product or services Verizon offers. I found that he would try to BS his way through a question (leaving red flags)... If it wasn't for Google, I would've bought the wrong product three times over. The issue I have is that their cost are not transparent. During my initial visit, I asked for him to write down the cost of the phone. Easy enough question.. which he did. Took me a couple of days to think it over, but when I returned and after almost hour and half watching him fumble through their system, we managed to get to the final part and only then do you hear about the tax, the new line fee, the "store free", the fee for the fee. The fee to avoid a fee... you get my point. When I expressed how annoyed a customer gets with hidden fees, he said "I gave you the monthly cost... you didn't ask for the 'out the door" cost..." ohh ... so when I asked you to write down how much it cost, I wasn't clear ... I should have said - "ALL of the cost". My bad. in the end I paid $40 for something I didn't want don't, didn't need and didn't ask for. My wife said I should've just walked out and went to a corporate store but quite honestly I didn't have the strength to go through this entire process again and I'm not entirely sure they wouldn't of tried to charge me a restocking fee, (which by the way they do). Buying a phone is not easy, it's made even harder with poor service and bad transparency. It goes without saying that I will no longer shop at this specific location in the future, but I will take the extra step to ensure that the location I do visit is a corporate owned store and not a franchise. read more

This for the oceanside/carlsbad location off of Avenidas Encinitas First off, Guillermo, Pierre, and Jose are ACES! I was struggling to connect my Bluetooth and these guys efficiently solved my issue. I also needed help sending back my damaged device to the insurance company. These guys are respectful, informed in their products, and just have a good spirit about them. I think this store is a beautiful compliment to a wonderful community. These guys will do well here. 10/10 experience. After hours with Verizon Customer Care Lines and Transfers. Jose was able to fix my issue of not having a functioning phone for two weeks, in about an hour! He understood all my issues/struggles and assisted in resolving them one by one. He took the time to double check that my phone was working and that I had a complete understanding of what happened. He also walked me thoroughly through how to my monthly payments would work and how to go about handling them. I have a working phone again and he was a very Kind/Understanding. read more

This is for the Plaza Dr. store in Ocianside, CA. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! Frank Martinez, the sales manager took almost 5 hours to set up 3 new phones for me and lied about what he was giving me the whole time. He signed me up for service and activations that I NEVER asked for nor was told about including 3 new numbers and Verizon Protect. After contacting Russel Cellular about the problems they promised they would take care of it. I was in the store on Dec. 27th. 2019 and they have not contacted me to resolve the issues. I have wasted so much time trying to resolve these issues they should be paying me for my time. It is my opinion that Frank Martinez isn't even qualified to work at McDonalds! I intend to file complaints with the BBB, FCC and FTC over this. IT HAS BEEN THAT BAD! So bad that I will not be a Verizon customer anymore as soon as I can switch. read more

Please see the review below of Sean H. dated 1/30/2016 My experience with the lying -- bait n' switch store manager, Mario Ontiveros was exactly the same. He added an old model jetpack hot spot and said it was mandatory to get the same $20 a line rates that anyone can get with the new 3 GB family plan. I asked many times why I had to buy something with a 2 year contract at $10/mo I did not want or need (even if it is free with the old model he provided). He lied each and every time. Like the other person ripped off, I went to Verizon direct. I was told the entire story was unnecessary to get the new plan and Mario Ontiveros explanation was absolutely untrue. Again, like the other person ripped off, Mario, offered a free case and protection film which I took. But when I came back to return the jetpak one of his minions, this time Ricardo tried to charge me a $35 restocking fee. This after I had already processed the line being cut off with Verizon directly. I was only there is physically return the unit per Verizon instructions. Ricardo finally relented with no re-stocking fee after hiding in the back room and calling Mario to demand another rip off. This time $20 as the delta in price between the "free accessories" that now were not free. This is the essence of that lying Mario Ontiveros bait-n-switch. I paid the $20 under protest to get out of that den of con men and outright liars. Moreover, my family also went to the Carlsbad store and got everything handled with integrity like Sean H. did. The real tragedy -- Verizon will probably reward Mario Ontiveros for selling more jetpacks than the stores that accurately and honestly resell them. If Verizon cares about customer satisfaction then do something. A tangible expression of regret would be cutting out the cancer in Oceanside. read more

The associate who helped me was working in an Escondido location but when he told me he was transferring to Oceanside, I had to follow him, as he is always so helpful and trust worthy! I upgraded my phone a couple of weeks ago at Russell Verizon in Vista. i was told that day I had 14 days to return the phone for buyer's remorse....which I did yesterday. The associate who assisted me had no concept of "customer service". He smacked his gum while he thumbed through my phone...without any explanation as to why. He only acknowledged me when I asked questions as to what he was doing....which was after he finished a phone conversation, mostly of a personal nature. He was also texting someone, something comical since he was getting a good chuckle out of it, all while I, his customer, was being ignored without any explanation as to what he was doing. When finally finished, he rushed out the door for an appointment without realizing he had set up my new phone linked to HIS email address. I wasn't actually a customer at this store, but I have to give a good review because of their fantastic customer service when I needed it. My car had broken down off I-5 and had been towed to the Pep Boys on Plaza Drive in Oceanside. Due to the phone calls, texts, et cetera, from that morning, my battery was dying and I didn't have a charger. I was also expecting phone calls about what to do next. (I live in the UTC area and wasn't sure whether the car would be fixed in Oceanside or be towed back home.) Fortunately, I realized that there was a Verizon retailer across the street. I went there, explained my situation, and asked if they had a charger I could borrow so that I wasn't stranded without a phone. The two guys working there were very nice and let me use a charger. We chatted about various things while I waited for my phone to charge and they were very friendly and helpful. Fantastic service and if I lived closer, they would probably be my Verizon retailer of choice. read more

These guys will go out of their way to help you get the best deal and work with your budget. They're impressively knowledgeable in the system and I feel I can trust their expertise, which is a lot to say. RUN AWAY-I know this is not my fight, second thought" Yes it is" my 80++ mother wanted to do a little independent shopping she knew she had made a horrendous mistake a few months later, she grew up and old knowing the Verizon name as quality as most of us can could attest to. my mother said I'm paying so much money every month I don't understand why? We tried to call 611 which is the customer service "Direct Line" she couldn't get connected from her home WiFi, we went to Russell Cellular to get questions answered I just didn't understand how she is paying almost $300 a month for a BOGO cell phone value deal. Please explain to me how they signed up a very trusting older person to a deal which is essentially cold blooded robbery. They signed her up to a 24 month contract. So let's review the terms 24 months $300 ish per month comes to $7200 dollars, only a trusting person would enter into such a contract and only a thief would rob an unsuspecting person. So talking to the Russell Cellular sales rep all he said was she signed the contract, so that's how he justifies thievery I bless all of you with sales people just like you from now until your end and your ugly 4 kids. Keep showing people the pictures you'll get another rube soon. We canceled the iphone bogo he said you owe us $1600 dollar, I let him know this is utter BullShit! We went back home to cancel Verizon as he couldn't do it there. We purchased 2 phones at store on route 44 in Wildwood, fl. Phone setups we're fine but it's all about the sale. Communication was terrible and misleading. They initially refused to process the return of 3 unopened accessories even though they did not deny they told me it was returnable at the point of sale. No effort made to try and be pleasant. Ultimately they relented. Very unfriendly process. It's all about the sale! The fact the salesman didn't know a Mission Statement existed and was posted behind him tells it all! read more

Had a horrible experience yesterday with store manager, Mario Ontiveros. Went to purchase an iPhone 6 for my daughter, and a 6s for myself. He sold me a certified pre-owned iPhone 6 and charged me $80 for a loyalty plus program both without my knowledge or consent. He didn't go over the charges with us, but told us that the software upgrades were going to take another hour, and for us to come back. He never gave us the receipt, but put it in a bag with the empty phone boxes and put them in the back room. When we came back to pick up the phone, Mario was already gone and I started looking over the receipt when I noticed he had sold me a certified phone, and had charged me for a loyalty plus program. I asked the other Verizon employee why I had been sold a certified unit and he told me that the iPhone 6 only comes as a certified pre-owned (a total lie). Then I asked what the loyalty plus program was, and he said that since it takes so long to transfer info from an old phone to a new one, that they have to charge for the service. He also told me that since Mario rang up the sale, there was nothing he could do and that I had to return to the store the next day to talk to Mario. I called an actual Corporate Verizon store last night (as well as Verizon Customer Care) and was told that what the employees at the store told me was a lie. I plan on going back to talk to Mario later on today and return the iPhone 6 that he sold me. Will post more about that experience afterward. Went back to this location. Mario cancelled my phone order and gave me a refund for all the extra charges. Glad I was able to get my money back. read more

Bait and switch! Went in, they told me I could take advantage of an offer. After going through the whole process of upgrading my phone and transferring, they called back and said that they couldn't give me the offer. Wasted a couple of hours setting up the phone and then going back to the store to return it. They also charged a $20 fee per phone to set-up that they weren't super up front about. They had signs advertising the service and the cost, but then didn't ask if we wanted to take advantage of it, or give us an option to to do it ourself....they just did it without asking and then charged us for it. To be objective, they were very nice and seemed honest enough...they acknowledged their mistake, were apologetic, and returned all fees when I decided to return the phone, but they did not offer much in the way an alternative or other offer that could keep me interested. Go to a real Verizon store, they are probably better trained about their own specials. Also, you can find the same deals at Verizon.com without Russell Cellulars $20 set-up fee that I found to be worthless if you know anything about smart phones. read more

I have always had excellent service at this location, they are under new management at this location now and I have called multiple times over the last 24 hrs to get them to help correct an error their employee made which nearly doubled, DOUBLED my cell phone bill 2 weeks ago instead of lowering as it was supposed to do! My account shows lines added, equipment that we do not own added, etc., insurance that we expressly declined. Today when I called for the 3rd time and asked for the manager he told me that he too was busy and would have someone look into it and get back with me in the next 24 hrs when they slowed down. Terrible experience and after 10 years at coming to this location, we will be finding other service after this is resolved. read more

I was having a bad week and not only did Luis Zarate help me with my phone issues, he had such a great personality that it even put a smile on my face. He made my experience there want to continue my service there and to keep getting him to help me with whatever issues I was having.
