I'm giving Spectrum three stars because of the EXCELLENT customer service we had from Jacob, the technician who came out today and got us back on the Interet and also got our Spectrum app working again. ***Thank you, Jacob!*** However, I'm not going for any more stars because we weren't able to book Jacob until we went to the Spectrum store 1-2-3 times. That is, of course, time that we'll never get back. The first two times, we got the same counter guy who seemed like he knew what he was doing... but didn't. I won't give this person's name out because I don't want him to lose his job. But if I ever go back and he comes up as my counter guy (assuming he's still there), nope, I'll pass and wait. This guy initally gave us a new router to install, but as soon as Jacob looked at it (two days later), he could see it was a lemon, which is why we couldn't get it to work. We then went back and got a new modem and a new router from the same guy. At this second visit, this guy did a few other things on his phone which he said he was doing especially for us, that he really shouldn't be doing it, but that whatever he was doing would supposedly connect us remotely. That didn't work, either. But we couldn't find that out until we went back home to check. The third time was the charm when we got a different counter guy, who gave us a $10 credit w/out asking (the first guy told us he wasn't allowed to do so, saying that store security would be compromised. Huh?) and seeing how upset we were, booked us Jacob. This was late Friday afternoon, and Jacob made it here on Sunday afternoon. So, we were unconnected for two days, which cut into my work and wasn't fun at all. Next time, we won't try to fix anything ourselves, despite being told how bing-bang-boom, easy-peasy it would be. We've now learned our lesson: if we ever have **any** sort of equipment issue again, we'll immediately make a service appointment. However, it seems to be company policy that the counter folks don't WANT you to make a service appointment unless you insist. So, fair warning: stand your ground and persist and insist on an appointment. If the equipment is faulty, there shouldn't be any charge for the service call. At least, Jacob didn't charge us. about a year ago, Spectrum decided to dig a ditch across my land, I went out there and told them they did not have permission. Being a retired tech, I gave them several options. They decided to cut another ditch across my land at a different place thinking I wouldn't know, again without permission. After discovering that, I called and told them that they dug their lines on my land without easement or permission and to remove the cable. They sent someone out, marked up a new path on the neighbors land without his permission... and then they did nothing. As long as I don't have to deal with them, their service (fiber optic) is good. Unfortunately, there is little choice in service here in the rural area of Grants Pass... I had a phone, that the technical people said was compatible, but the non technical people's database said it was not compatible. After spending over 20 hours going back between Mobile technical and sales, technical said sales wins and will not put my phone on the system... then they couldn't tell me exactly what the specifications were needed so I can get a used rebuilt phone... My wife and I are retired with extremely limited income, we are not one of the illegals making hundreds of thousands of dollars in this sanctuary state... Thank heaven for Magic Jack.... Spectrum sales kept pushing us to buy a several hundred phone from them... If I had a choice, I would never have used Spectrum. read more

They don't tell you about the $75 installation fee, etc upfront. A low price will be discussed, and then they'll just receive a $200ish charge out of nowhere. Not cool, very shady. Overcharged right off the bat. But god forbid you have to close a card or idk, are working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day as a paramedic in a rural area that is very understaffed with medics and forgot to update, this is what you get harassed with and they turn off your internet very quickly. Their phone auto system will hang up on you, employees give attitude. TRASH. read more

Horrible customer service. Their online services are the worst, and their customer service on the phone is a joke. This company is worse to deal with than the IRS, Social Security, and the DMV. Don't use it unless you have no other choice. Unfortunately, they have a monopoly in some areas, which leaves many unhappy customers with no choice. I'm a brand new customer. It was my first time ever in a Spectrum store. In the 40 minutes I was waiting to pick up a router and modem, I watched 3 customers walk-out of the store in frustration. Spectrum has the be the ABSOLUTE WORST to deal with. My parents moved from Grants Pass, Oregon to Wilsonville, Oregon and my dad called to cancel their Internet service at the old house as they are in the process of moving into their new house. Four reresentatives and almost an hour later, he FINALLY got a rude gentleman that handeled that. Everyone kept asking questions about how the weather was, how Christmas was, asking why he wanted to cancel. He clearly stated time and time again, "that is all irrelevant, I just want to cancel service I no longer need." I had him hang up on the first call after being on the phone close to 50 minutes overall, and try a different number, where a rude gentleman finally, in the span of 3 minutes, actually cancelled it. If there was a way to give a negative star, I would have. If they are your only option, I pray you never have to cancel your serivce. read more

Bait and switch right out of the gate with these guys. Over the phone on 6/17/2024 I was shopping internet prices in Grants Pass to prepare for a move. I was quoted $67 for a 1000 up/ 500 down plan, with $5 off per month if I signed up for an auto payment. NO OTHER FEES OR CHARGES DISCUSSED. Based on that call I opted for Spectrum who managed to hand me a $119 bill on my first month. I sucked it up assuming maybe it was just installation costs. This most recent bill arrived to the tune of $208.98. NOT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO $67. So I will be going into the store today to get this straightened out as their phone system call-back is a total bogus bologna show that doesn't respond to keypad entries for their prompts 1,2 or 9. Their auto call back system dogged me on three return calls, which is a term I use as loosely as possible. This company has so far come off as crooked, apathetic, and poor customer communicators. SPECTRUM RIPS PEOPLE OFF!!!!!! This happened at Grants Pas Spectrum with Irving, sales rep. My dad broke his phone, so I came in to get a new one for him. I bought him a flip phone as he used to own one and it's easier to use. He did not want the flip style so I brought it right back. Didn't even have it for an hour. They wanted to charge me a $50 re-stocking fee and it was never even used! To add insult to injury, the rep I purchased the phone from, NEVER EVEN TOLD ME THERE WOULD BE A RE-STOCKING FEE! When I came back in to return it, he avoided me. When he saw I was watching him with another customer, he said "You're back. Did he like the phone?" I said "No. And you never even told me there would be a charge if it had to be returned as I would have brought him in to pick it out himself". He said "oh I thought I did...". He then continued to avoid me and pushed us off on a different Rep. Next, they tried to use the phone as an "exchange" but they won't even exchange their own phone I just bought two hours ago! The girl who has been trying her best to help, was visually upset about the situation as well, however, only a Manager could authorize anything....guess what....no manager, general manager or district manager is available! This was a business day, business hours. So the girl helping me gets the district manager on the phone and instead of just authorizing the return, says they will call me next week!!!!!! I felt bad for the girl trying to help us, as none of this was her fault And we told her that. The guy should've fired, not only for not telling us about the fee, but for arrogantly ignoring us and making someone else clean up his mess! read more

The folks at the store where nice, however were not up to date with $ of tv package. We kept dish during the change. You dont get radom access to channels. Update for 72 bucks or 6 per month they a have a xumo. By the time i got the channels i had before, got a new xumo for random channels my bill was only 7 dollars diff. Buffering a bit more then ziply. The salesman who came by the house when installing the fiber said i would see a big savings. Mmmmmm. read more

If you pay your bill late they charge you but if they can't keep from losing connection they don't give you a discount for the inconvenience and since it happens so often maybe they should. zero stars! Absolutely the worst Internet service company ever. They will procrastinate over and over and over when you need a request like canceling a service or disconnecting the Internet. I was on hold and the phone for 45 minutes and then got disconnected. No callback no confirmation they disconnected my Internet just so they can bill me the next day because that's when the billing cycle starts. Even the local store in grants Pass has the wrong hours posted on Google, different hours, posted on their door and then in small print a third different hours on a piece of paper on the door. They are dishonest and not helpful. I found more affordable and better Internet but at this point, I would even pay more to go somewhere else. read more

Be aware when Spectrum says you can get unlimited hotspots with only spending $15 per phone per month... It's a flat out LIE!!! I found out today that the hotspots ONLY work on their unlimited upgrade plans costing $45/$55 per phone per month!!!! The $15 plan gets you 5GB of Data only. They're corralling you into the more expensive plans by telling you about their "unlimited hotspots" Laranda from North Carolina is who I'm calling Mgmt about right now!!!!! read more

People at the store are helpful but Spectrum as a company is pretty rough. Look elsewhere for internet service if possible. Available speeds are not what they are advertised to be and if you have to cancel your account, they aren't willing to prorate your bill, which they dont tell you. We ruined our last name so we sold out to a bigger competitor that way we can bend new customers over and give it to them like we did our old ones. If I could give this company a -10 I would. First they don't ask if you want new equipment, then they charge you for self installing said new equipment, which only works intermittently. I have to reset my brand new modem and router once or twice a night. Tech support has been useless and even told me to reset my TV. My TV is t the problem, it's their crappy equipment and service. Then they charge you a fortune for service that doesn't work. The SCC needs to get involved and shut them down! read more

Except for the wait time I was very satisfied with the person who helped me. I was trying to take care of it on the phone to spectrum. Big mistake, Hours of wait time and 15 different calls because of a mistake THEY made by shutting off my service earlier than set up by over a week. AFter a futile attempt to get it back on I went to the local store and after an hour of their time contacting their people they were able to take care of what 15 others could not. I will always go into the store for help now. Spectrum online and on phone customer service is the worst of my 67 years on this planet. All of the providers have millions of customers and if they lose some, they dont care, they know the other services like dish will do the same thing and they will just rotate customers. Spectrum is the worst for service though but I found a caring person at the Grants Pass store and she saved the day. read more
