And that's just the Cable. The internet and home phone suffer from a laundry list of issues. Here's the deal. This is a monopoly. I was using internet and TV silver pkg for $99 1yr. Then went to $140 1yr. Now it went to $171. I canceled tv kept internet. I missed last day of my service. I cancelled 6 days past cutoff since I got the letter of raising it. In Oct the billing notice changed to NO pro rating. SO, if you cancel verify your last day is of your billing cycle then cancel. I am sitting in this store as I write this. I just watched an older, slower moving gentleman walk in and sign in. While he was helping a woman by opening the front door, a female employee with longer brown hair (I am actively talking myself out of taking her photo) she called his name, and I quote, "Horatio? Is there a Horatio, no Horatio? Okay." In literally one breath. A second later I saw him turn around and put his hand up for whoever called his name but she had moved on not 30 seconds after starting to call for him. He walked over confused asking if someone called his name and the woman snapped at him and told him "I called your name three times you couldn't have said oh that's me I'm right here" and she proceeded to berate this literally 80+ year old man as he explained how he was just helping the woman at the door but she just kept acting like she wasn't in the wrong. I was on hold trying to cancel voip phone because the rep at the spectrum store told me that adding voip to my internet would lower my bill and it raised my bill instead. I call to cancel voip and get the run around and am on hold for 22 minutes. Finally the guy gave me my original bill amount for internet but he put me on hold 4 times to give me a deal when I specified I only wanted internet because there sales reps are liars. He even argued with me that I was only on hold 12 minutes when I was on hold a total of 23 minutes. read more

Came in to pick up a modem and the wait was about 1.5 hours around noon on a weekday. There were a lot of angry customers waiting around. I am really disappointed in the service at the Spectrum in Lancaster on Avenue K and 12th Street West. I came in to pay my bill and waited about 30 minutes for someone to help me when there were six available Associates to take care of me and a manager walking around with a clipboard. The previous location had enough seating, which wasn't pretty, but it worked just fine. The new location, lDK--there were LOTS of people standing. Not cool. Currently standing in store waiting to return my modem and there are 30 people inside (not over exaggerating). A few of them are not wearing their masks over their nose either. The front doors are closed and it feels unsafe in here due to the amount of people and lack of air circulation. I've grown to like Spectrum as a company over the last few years. I have my home internet, 2 iPhones, two Apple Watches, and an iPad with mobile service through Spectrum and the service has been great. The problem is the store. I have to give them credit, they've always helped me accomplish what I needed, but the route to get there is almost always awful. It took a full hour last time. I never want to be in a store that long. 1. Most stations are unmanned. - It feels maddening to stand it a store brimming with people and a 20+ person wait list and see more than half the employee stations unused. 2. More employees are walking around or shadowing another employee than are actually working. - When the store is packed and it looks like no one is working, it's gets really hard to stay calm. I understand that workers need training, but none of them seem to be sure of what they're doing and you can't even tell which one is training the other. 3. Employees are more concerned with trying to up-sell customers than helping the throng of people waiting. - I witnessed an extra 5 min conversation between and employee and a customer about trying to get them to switch mobile carriers. The customer left without doing so... what a waste of everyone's time. Do that when there's only a few people waiting for help, not 20. 4. Employee chitchat. I understand that there has to be some level of camaraderie between employees, but they were playing with each other's hair while working on my activation. That's not what I want to see. I expect to see people working. The back room is for that kind of thing. read more

Spectrum closed their location on Sierra Hwy and make everyone use their newer Spectrum Mobile location. Each customer takes about 20 minutes and while I was waiting only 3 people were helping customers, 1 signed people in and the other 2 just stood around. Scanning equipment barcodes and printing a receipt should be fast but they try to sell mobile service to everyone. They have the monopoly on internet but thankfully not mobile service. On June 18th I had my serviced transfered temporarily to another address because I sold my home. The agent commented on how cheap my plan was because I've been a customer since 2015 & to not cancel it. He said when i move again call with the new servuce address. Well the agent was name James & he canceled my service on July 3rd, which I learned today. The agent that helped me kept putting me on hold to look into it saying I don't have an account, so I asked for a supervisor which never came on the line. Instead I was still told the account didn't exit & i can sign up for a new one. I asked for a manager again & magically she told me on July 3rd my account was closed although I never asked for it to be. She tries selling me a plan that was double in price of what I had. I thanked her for her help & told her that was wrong that James canceled my account. As i was hanging up the agent said get the F@#$ off my phone. I'm sure she didn't think I heard it. I called and requested they check their archives for calls and check for internet activity since cancellation. They conveniently could not (attributed to no department access on their side). If I could give no stars I would. I sold my house and no longer needed their service nor did I use their service. I attempted numerous times to call and cancel my service however I was NEVER able to speak to a representative. Approximately 1 week later I was able to finally cancel my service however I had to go into the store because that's the only way I could get in touch with them. Once in the store they told me since I canceled 7 days into the billing cycle I have to pay the entire month. I spoke to them multiple times explaining I sold my house and never used there service and I attempted to call and cancel it prior to the next billing cycle. They refused to help me. Now I'm receiving multiple calls a day forcing me to pay and then they threaten to damage my credit if I do not pay them for that month. I called customer service and asked why can't we avail of promo they give to new customers? Due to this, we stopped service halfway thru billing cycle and asked for a pro-rated bill and they declined. BUNCH OF THIEVES. Substandard services and even worse customer service. Lease you equipment that cannot support their "top of the line internet speed". After multiple visits by the tech service neighbor told us to try a different router and modem which then put us at the speed we had been paying and not getting for the past few years. Their tech that came out admitted that the equipment they lease is cheaper quality and does not support speeds even up to 300..... when speaking to a customer service MANAGER was told that there was no more that they could do other than refund 25% of what we had paid in the lease for their faulty equipment. Tid bit of info from lancaster spectrum MANAGER: when the store is REALLY busy the pay your bill machine will be working, but when business is VERY SLOW the machine will have NOT WORKING SIGN. This is so employees have to actually WORK. But MANAGER also said they are phasing out the machines. So question why did the open a new palmdale location next to Shakers and Game stop and PUT IN A BRAND NEW BILL PAY MACHINE?? Vicki called me and she was the rudest person that I ever had to deal with at a Spectrum location ever. There was nothing friendly about her and the professionalism was highly lacking. If you get it before you do that , they will charge you full price up front for the device. The classic bait and switch. Don't let them trick you to into paying this device full price upfront.
