I had an extremely frustrating experience canceling my service with Spectrum. The cancellation process was far more difficult and time-consuming than it should be. First, the phone wait times were excessive. After finally getting through and canceling, I then had to return the equipment in person -- which turned into another ordeal. When I arrived at the store, there were over 30 people in line on the weekend and more than 15 people waiting even on a weekday. I ended up waiting over an hour just to drop off equipment. That should be a quick, simple process, especially for former customers who have already canceled service. To make matters worse, the store itself was unpleasant -- it smelled bad and was clearly overcrowded and understaffed. The entire experience felt disorganized and inefficient. Once a customer has canceled, returning equipment should not require this much time and hassle. This process left a very negative final impression. read more

The worst customer service I have ever received! We had a reservation and had to wait because the system wouldn't let us check in. Then their system hadn't updated so we couldn't complete our purchase and were told to come back the next day and DID NOT need another reservation and would be seen right away to complete our purchase. We came back and were told we would have to now be a walk in and wait approx 2 hours. We showed them the card given and who we were there to see and they refused to help us. I needed Internet access right away, and Spectrum told me over the phone that I could get it set up on a Sunday evening in August. They took my billing information and gave me an address to the one store that was still open late near me. It didn't exist. So I showed up to this location the next day, after getting hooked on false pretenses. They gave me equipment that didn't work, so I came back quickly and saw them twice in two days. They told me I would be getting a free trial of Spectrum TV that I could renew if I wanted. I never tried it out, but did not think much of it, since it was just a trial. They have been charging me for that for three months. I gave them a call today, and they said they only have a 60-day lookback policy, so this might effect my refunds. Well, the 60 days are useless, because they will not refund even the most recent bills. Further, they will not drop Spectrum TV, which again, I have never used, from my CURRENT bill. So I'll be paying for it again later this week. In contrast, AT&T, out of the blue, mailed me a credit card to make up for the extra bill I accidentally paid. I didn't even ask. I was blind transferred 3 times in one day and had three reps who were so rude I felt like I was the crazy one. These representatives need more training on empathizing, conflict resolution, and making sure all reps understand all questions or have a file they can access to answer odd questions so they don't go around gaslighting customers. I'm ready to leave Spectrum after years. They get paid to help me resolve issues not have to keep calling back to fix their mistakes. So yes, Spectrum (and really any service stores) are incredibly slow in general, but I feel of all the spectrums I've been to, this is the best one! I had already turned in most of my equipment to UPS but I left out a couple things and needed to drop by. I was 4th on the list (at 5:30pm) and fully expected to have to wait an hour to get a simple answer to a question. All of the employees (~5 on the floor) were busy working with customers, but after one finished, he saw the digital line getting a bit longer and decided to ask the people waiting if they had simple fixes to gage what kind of problems they were going to have to deal with. I went to this location to return some equipment( 4 cable boxes) as well as to down grade my services to just the internet. I had to wait nearly an hour to be seen. The process was really easy though after retrieving my equipment we went over my options. I decided to go with promotional deal of 29.99 plus 5 for Wi-Fi so a total of 34.99. I paid my bill previous bill in full and was told my next bill will reflect my current services as I cancelled my previous plan before the next billing cycle. Fast forward to the next month, my bill hadn't changed over so I called customer service to get it taken care of. They were very inexperienced and could not comprehend what was going on even though I had explained it to them multiple times. This person also told me I never turned my equipment in so I escalated it because they were incompetent. After speaking to the supervisor, he assured me my equipment was accounted for and he could see where I made the modification to my account but for some reason it hadn't switched over. He had to transfer me to another department because his dept. didn't handle that so hands me off to someone else where I had to plead my case all over again. This person said they could not honor the promotional deal because they weren't currently offering it that low stating that each dept has its own promotional deal they offer and they I should return back to the store to get my original offer . I asked how can they not honor a deal that was already made and they just refuse and said their hands were tied the best they could do was 59.99 plus 5 for Wi-Fi. so I escalated it again and she reiterated the same thing stating they couldnt honor 34.99 but she could do 44.99 I agreed because I was just over it. I give it a few days to change in the system but it never does so this time I just go back to the store where it all started. I explained to the guy at the store what is going on and he is telling me that I changed my bill after the billing cycle I told him no I didn't I returned the equipment and services a week before the billing cycle. He is adamant on his evaluation and gets dismissive even though he never goes over my account. He tells me to call customer service because he is unable to make those changes. I ask to speak to a manager who apparently was out at the time but he reiterates no one here can make those changes. So I leave and call customer service this beautiful soul picks up, listen to me, verifies everything and fixes my account in ten freaking minutes. Poor poor customer service and spectrum should do a better job training and educating these people. read more

So, my mom passed away on May 8th. Her last bill was May 12th that I covered. Now, they have no pro-rate on the 6 days. Pay in full the 252.24 even thought they have the hardware ads I turned it in. I would caution anyone from using spectrum because they are a deceiving company that does not know what they're doing and will file false claims against your credit report. I canceled this contract with this company and I owed them $194 which I paid them but yet they took me to collections because they said I didn't pay it but yet they sent me a check for seven cents because I had overpaid. I continually told them that the payment has been made and showed them proof but yet they took me to collections and now they are impacting my credit score I would definitely look for another alternative if I was you before choosing spectrum read more

I changed over to these people from Verizon and from that day forward my life has been complicated by lies, stupidity and laziness which is hidden behind an ingrained culture of corporate incompetence. Silly me tried to get a phone and thinking they were a phone company I didn't think this would be a challenge. Was I ever wrong. For 7 weeks now I've been trying and finally they have given me another phone and promised to get my old number transferred to the new one. This didn't happen. After much talking to different staff members all of whom are incredibly friendly as they say Sorry continually and generate Tickets which are useless. The manager at the time promised to generate yet another ticket and personally follow it through. He didn't and the saga continues. I now have 2 phones, 2 numbers and the phone I want isn't the one with the old number. If I've confused you I'm sorry but at the moment I just can't understand why a phone company can't supply a phone and get it working after 7 weeks. it is my first time coming to this location as I needed to return some equipment and was a little skeptical after reading a few not so good reviews fr other customers. i can only shared my experience, so here we go..... plenty of parking spots at this time, I was the only customer walking in. as soon as I put foot in the store I was greeted by all staff present, a representative directed me to his workstation where i was taken care off in a professional and attentive way. due to my incapacity/disability I have the most hard time being around other people or talking to others. my representative was so kind and so patiently answered all of my questions. he went the extra mile to write them down in a piece of paper for future reference.
