One day I call Time Warner and I get a quote to switch to Spectrum. The rep. was wonderful and gave me a good quote. I told her I wanted to speak to my husband and would call tomorrow. I called the next day and spoke with another rep. and she quoted me over $50 more than the rep. the day before. The one who quoted me the $50 more told me her supervisor would call me back and I never heard from anyone. I will stay with Time Warner at least they can agree on prices. I have been a very disappointed customer of spectrum for years and to put things in a nutshell. cable service I recently disconnected due to the fact that I was paying over $200 per month for barely any channel line up and no additional features like DVR or anything. on demand rarely worked and it was less than basic cable you get a a motel 6- the bill constantly goes is with very little explanations aside of fees fees and more random fees. internet will work 50% of the time and when you call or email for support it's either automated or you get one of the 2- rude customer service representativ- foreign who will not listen to you but keep repeating what you say and lie about their name and give you John smith when you know darn well it isn't when they can't pronounce their owner name and are never able to actually resolve issues, just repeat your issue back to you over and over and over again. I'm unable to use another provider at my address so the World Wide Web is where I've had to take it. if you can avoid using this company for any service I recommend looking into another option. thanks for your time. Since the change from Brighthouse to Spectrum, my cable and internet service has been a disaster. Tonite, Thurs. march 30, all three of my cable boxes were disfunctional and the tv sets showed NO SIGNAL. When I called all numbers for help, all i got was an automatic busy signal which means that thoudands of others were experiencing the same failure of any service at all. This all began when Brighthouse officially changed to SPECTRUM WHICH IS THE WORST CABLE SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED....IT TOTALLY SUCKS AS A PROVIDER then when you call for help....ALL YOU GET IS A BUSY SIGNAL... I was grandfathered in from Bright House before Spectrum took over. The moment Spectrum took over I started seeing drops in speed. I was and am still paying for 100mbps, but my speeds clock in at a max 35mbps. I've been on 8 calls with Spectrum support, customer service, and what they call "Tier 3" support. I've had a technician come out and replace my box. No solutions, just terrible inability to ensure that a customer receives EXACTLY what he is paying for. I have no other recourse in my area, they are the only ISP available -- so I can only gather from this that they are either (A) exploiting a monopoly to offer subpar service, or (B) making my life hell so I will switch over to their Spectrum 60 or 300mbps tiers. If you're reading the reviews to decide whether to go with Spectrum or another provider for cable/satellite TV I would advise to not go with Spectrum. Ever since Spectrum took over Brighthouse I have noticed a decline in customer service and an increase in my monthly bill. I am currently having issues with my DVR and the customer service folks were unapologetic when I contacted them about the issue. This past week was the last straw as I got ready for bed with my wife and popcorn ready to watch my weekly show that I recorded on the DVR. The DVR was unable to access any DVR recordings, nor any on demand programming for that matter. I am charged a separate fee for this service mind you and this is not the first time I couldn't access DVR recordings either. I have e-mailed Spectrum's customer service regarding this issue weeks ago and did not receive a response. When I contacted Spectrum I was told that the "e-mail customer support" was not the correct forum to voice a technical complaint. I asked why I didn't receive an e-mail back stating that I should call customer service and the customer service rep was unable to provide an answer. I wonder why they even allow you to e-mail customer support if they don't want you to contact them by e-mail. At this point it became clear that this is not the company I signed up with seven years ago. No apology was given and I wasn't given an acceptable answer regarding my e-mail support question. As I've mentioned my monthly bill was going up and customer service was getting worse - so what are the extra charges that I am paying for? I've asked to have my service discontinued and here is the best part - I was on hold for 20 minutes while I was transferred to another department. At least I didn't have to repeat my story or explain why I wanted to discontinue service. Hopefully if you decide the use Spectrum you don't have the same issues. If you came here looking for advice or reviews I would say look elsewhere if you can. A few months have gone by since I cancelled service and I receive calls asking me to go back to them. Spectrum Customer service is the worst! 1 hour and 45 mins every time you call and when you finally reach someone they say one thing and do nothing... You call back the next month (1 hour and 45 mins wait again) cause you receive your bill and your cancelled request for a service is still being billed, additional another charge is added? When you think you have 1 issue resolved - they transfer you to another department to wait another 1 hour and 45 mins to work on the same issue... I was billed for 4 months for internet service. Cancelled the service in Jan, returned the equipment to the store as instructed and awaited my credit. Feb's bill - no credit - called, Mar's bill - no credit - called, Apr's bill - no credit - called. When I finally spoke with a representative again, they said there was no cancel order found ? After waiting another 2 hrs, one lady was able to credit me only 60 days back. They charged me $200 for internet service I never received and said I would only receive 60 days back - $99.98 back. Stephanie's review just does not compute. Perhaps she works for BH - either directly or indirectly. My issues with BH have nothing to do with their service agents. Yes, they are nice when you call their center. However my issues with BH have more do with the quality of the product, their level of service and value for my hard-earned money. Bright House fails in so many ways. But then they don't really have to try very hard do they when consumers have so little choice with service providers. In my particular piece of paradise in Orlando my only Internet options are Bright House or Centurylink. For cable TV, since "free TV" does not work in this metro area either, our options are satellite or Bright House. AT&T & Comcast are not available because the telephone & cable companies have carved our little world up into corporate fiefdoms. I even called the FCC to validate this. Cable & Internet providers have pre-arranged agreements whereby they will only service certain blocks. The only cowboy in the mix is satellite dish for TV but then you are locked into a 2 year contract + equipment fees. Bottom line folks they can call you "friend" all they like. At the end of the day consumers lack choice & freedom when it comes to selecting their providers. They are all quasi-monopolies, which entitles them to charge you outrageous prices for sub-par service, nickle & dime you with service chargesr and provide you with sub-par service for your trouble. I would like to live in a world where I could select from all providers and go with the one who provides me good value for my money. I'll pay for quality but I won't pay a kings ransom or get locked into a blood-signed contract because I am forced to choose between which evil is less painful. Perhaps if there was more competition in the true tradition of business enterprise, these companies would clean up their act or new and potentially better service providers would rise above the sea of discontent. read more

Bright House, like most cable providers, has a very well deserved poor image. However there are some bright (hehe) spots. When lightning zapped my modem today, the nice tech support guy in Bangalore couldn't fix it by remote control. He sent me to Gus, a local CSR, who said I should just take my modem, connector, and power cord to the Semoran location and they would swap it for a brand new one. I drove there expecting the worst. I found no line, and a very courteous associate who spoke English (rare in this part of town) waiting to help me. I was out in less than ten minutes, problem solved. I have zero clue why anyone would rate Spectrum internet as a 5 star business. I would give them 0 stars if possible. Spectrum is by far the worst internet provider I have ever dealt with, and that is including dealing with comcast which is known for being bad. They cannot keep internet running and when you call to complain they tell you that it is because of the volume in your area, which is not true because my neighbors works just fine. I have to have 3 separate wifis in my small apartment with my girlfriend for us to switch between when they constantly go out. Spectrum constantly calls you when you have a service appointment to try and get you to cancel or reschedule but they cannot show up on time. I had a service call yesterday from 3-4 and when 445 rolled by I finally called them to find out they somehow cancelled my appointment but didn't bother to tell me. I just spend 1 hour and 56 minutes on the phone with spectrum trying to resolve the issues I have with my internet service. They sent a tech who arrived and had no idea what he was supposed to do. He refused to call spectrum and argued with us about making the changes we were told would be made. He also told me "there's no reason to be rude" when I continued questioning him. I was transferred 6 or 7 times then told there were no details for the service call in the file. I was told over and over a different department put in the call. Two different employees told me other people I had spoken to had lied to me. Apparently there were doing a bait and switch changing our old Brighthouse DVR boxes for regular cable boxes and telling us they would reduce our bill. They told us it was "upgrade" but when they tech was on the phone with his supervisor we could clearly hear him tell the tech to downgrade the equipment. I was told it was an upgrade because Spectrum's equipment is better than Brighthouse's. Of course I am changing my provider. Another company is coming to set up comparable services for about 1/2 the cost. I can't even tell you how foolish I feel for continuing to deal with spectrum for as long as I did. read more

I've lived in the Orlando area for nearly two years and have not had a problem with Bright House at all. The internet has always been reliable, the basic cable is decent, and the customer service has always been great. Bright House has helped me move, change plans, and even fix my remote when it stopped working. I had to bring it into a location, which they take them at any location, and they quickly gave me a new one - no questions asked, no account lookup, nothing. It was quick, easy, and painless. (I took it to the S. Semoran location.) I don't use their cable anymore, just internet, and it's perfect. It streams quick, it's reliable for work, and it very rarely disconnects. It has disconnected maybe 4 times in the past two years I've used it. read more

My wife and I entered the Spectrum store located at 1906 Semoran Blvd., in Orlando Fl 32822 on a Saturday Morning to transfer mobile, internet, and cable service. We also needed an additional line and wanted both mobile lines on the account to have the 29.99 unlimited plan. It was a nice "Bundle" opportunity for Spectrum and it's a reliable service. A salesperson named Eliezer Pacheco assisted us stated the solution we were looking for was "No problem" and he could get it done. That was two weeks ago..For the past two weeks, I've been calling "Eli" and Spectrum Customer Service to straighten out my account. Nothing at all was done by Eli Pacheco. In fact, after sitting on the phone and being transferred 4 times today, I've finally been informed that Spectrum can't even provide the solution Elliezer Pacheco assured me Spectrum could provide. It's obvious to me, and the helpful Customer Service Reps, that all Eli wanted was a phone sale right then, not the "One Stop Shop Bundle" that Spectrum touts. Is the best personnel Spectrum can put in a customer-facing position? The Spectrum brand was openly misrepresented. Well, Mr. Eli, you left money on the table and you've probably been silently losing Spectrum customers, unbeknownst to Spectrum, for some time now. How many referrals have you gotten lately? How are your sales numbers and your repeat business funnel and follow-up? No relationship building in your bag of tricks? I am simply amazed at how bad Bright House is. The only thing they have going for them is the fact they sealed up the market somehow blocking competitors from coming in. I was told that if Bright House was in an area they are the only ones that you can get service from. This is a travesty to the public. There is no competition on service providers so we are forced to endure the substandard service they provide. It is time that we force them to fix their issues. I have been in Orlando for right at a year. Prior to moving here I lived in Guadalajara Mexico. I was shocked coming here and finding that there was no fiber optic internet in Orlando. Is this town that technologically challenged? I have only had the opportunity to deal with BH for my services. I have always paid for the 45 MB internet after continuously having bandwidth issues I started doing periodic speed checks. The fasted recorded speed over a year was 17.8 MBS. I spoke to BH about this and their reply was you are paying for "UP TO 45." I told the sales rep that in my speed log I have 45 and 50+ but that was when I was with another carrier. Prey tell me why there is not a better service in Orlando. I told the sales person if that is the case and I only get 15 that is what I want to pay for. So he down graded my service. What I expected was to still get the 15 that I have always gotten. Well that is not the case. For some reason I only now get 2-5 MBS. That have oversold the bandwidth in the markets and we are paying for it. To me this is fraud sell one thing and then throttle the bandwidth down so much that you can't get what you pay for. Google fiber or AT&T's ADSL needs to come to orlando and they will put BH out of business. So if you are looking for a place to live in Orlando look for a place that does not have BH for services. read more

Today I had new Spectrum service installed. The tech (subcontractor) came in a timely manner. He did my installation. I questioned him about the router. He said I didn't order the $5/month router. Later I found out that every modem has a built in router. When he left, he advised me to call Spectrum to activate my service. In other words, he wanted me to activate the router. I didn't question him. I immediately called to activate the router only to find out that I have a defective modem! The gentleman told me that I did order a router and that it was the technicians fault. So now I'm sitting here at the mercy of Spectrum waiting for my service to begin. I called to make a few simple adjustments to our bill. I was on the phone for a total of over 2 hours! First time I held for 35 minutes then was cut off. Second call, after another 30+ minute hold, I got through to a "representative" who transferred me to another representative for another long hold. The new representative came on. I told him I wanted to place a quick chance to my service. This is the guy that is supposed to "specialize" in this request. The entire thing seemed to pose a great mystery to him. His computer system seemed strange and foreign - as though it was his first day on the job and he was reading an instruction manual - and not getting very far. There were long pauses where I did not hear him for 3-4 minutes. I kept asking if he was still there. I could hear him talking to himself as he typed feverishly into his computer. He did not explain to me what the problem was or why it was taking so long. My entire call with him lasted over 35 minutes, just to make simple change to my service - and I do not have a complicated account. Terrible company. Just terrible. I don't know if the problem is employee training or the MIS system but this is unacceptable. Has me ready to "cut the cord" except that you still have to deal with them for internet. What a NIGHTMARE!!! This is what happens when you have a few companies controlling the entire market. Its the best argument I can think of for competition and free markets. read more

Spectrum has raised the internet price of their long term customers in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Clayton and supervisor Amberly stated prices had to be increased due to the thousands of new accounts they are receiving due to covid, homeschooling,and the lock down and people are increasing their internet service therefore they've had to put up more towers in order to handle the huge business boom they are experiencing. Yolanda was very nice greeted me at the door and took my equipment from me and gave me a piece of paper to stand in line with. Sakinah helped me and was also very nice. I have been a Time Warner / BrightHouse / Spectrum customer for over 30 years. I have contributed my part to their current system and continue to do so, but not for long. While new customers get a great onboarding deal, my bill continues to go up. In essence, loyal customers get the privilege of paying for new customer's great promotions which seems to be a marketing standard amongst all companies who couldn't care less about their customers. I called their customer service to discuss why my bill increased and to see if the new customer promotions could be applied to my bill. I got idiotic canned responses and they didn't care that I'm a good customer who has paid my bill on time every month. I can only hope that another carrier comes to Central Florida that will give Spectrum a run for their money. In the interim, I'm shopping for new service. read more

I do not typically leave reviews. Actually, this is my first review; as someone who has previously worked in customer service, I usually want to give the representatives the benefit of the doubt. However, this is by far the worst experience I have ever had with any company! When I started my services with Spectrum, they forced me to have someone come to my house and install the Wi-Fi router for $50 on top of other start-up fees. The installation took the man all 15 min and all he did was plug the router into the outlet and read the instructions on how to start it.... Something any ten-year-old who can read could do themselves; this was my first annoyance as I asked multiple times why I couldn't install the router myself and save the $50. however, installing the router myself wasn't an option. And to add salt to injury, I was proven correct that I could have installed the router as they forced me to uninstall the router and deliver it to them. At the end of my service, I called a month before moving to ask Spectrum about the process to end my services without acquiring additional charges. I even asked if I could end the services ahead of time because I would be moving before my lease ended and wouldn't need spectrum services. The guy told me that it didn't matter when I eneded my services. All I would have to do was return my devices to the spectrum store when I moved out; I again asked if there would be any charges that I should be made aware of. He said no. fast forward to after I return my equipment, I receive a bill for $80! I call to understand the charge, and I'm told that the charges are for the monthly subscription. They don't prorate... which I would understand if it were for the same price as my monthly subscription that was $50. I've spoken to numerous representatives and supervisors. They refused to charge me at least the $50 even though they admit that I was misled when I was told to keep the equipment past my bill cycle. It is incredible, considering I didn't even use the machine for the billing cycle I was charged. I have requested to speak to a manager three times, and each time I am told that they will call me back since they are so busy, but it is going on 48 hours, and I haven't gotten a call or message.... No one has even so much as apologized for an error on their part. I will never use Spectrum again; they increase the bill on random months for no explained reason. Service is spotty, and they Nickle and dime you every chance because they believe they are your only cable/internet/or phone option.
