I used to have brighthouse. They were great! Then unfortunately spectrum bought them. Spectrum is the worst tv and internet company I have ever had. I wish they weren't the only provider in my area or I would switch in a heartbeat. They charged me $200 just come over and plug in the modem. When it was brighthouse my bill was $74 a month, now it's $150. It's outrageous. They're an awful company. Not mention my internet and tv randomly stops working about once a week and I have to reboot everything. GO WITH LITERALLY ANY OTHER PROVIDER IF YOU HAVE THE OPTION. read more

Spectrum is GARBAGE! I have had Spectrum for a long time, its always been unreliable in the past, but now I notice it more because i am working from home. AT LEAST EVERY WEEK the service has gone out, either the TV, the Phone, the Internet or ALL of it! Sometimes I can reboot it myself, sometimes it requires me to call them, two weeks ago it all went out of service for almost two whole days!!!!!! Always the same run a round on the phone, "oh theres an outage in the area, we are working on it" What kind of crappy service is it if it goes out once a week for hours at a time? Then they say, oh go on our website and you can get things done there- what a joke!!! NO way to report an outage or problem on their website! You can "online chat" with a robot that cant answer your questions and can only say "we will call you when service is restored". Ridiculous! They are constantly having outages in our community, its almost impossible to get thru to customer service, they schedule appts and do not show, they are rude on the phone. Wifi cuts out constantly...call out service tech and they just blame it on "area outages". Their recommendation is to reboot router...which I do 3-4 times a day due to the wifi dumping. Looking for other provider options...no confidence that they can provide quality service. read more

Worst customer service I've ever seen. They make a mistake 4 months ago and then charge you for it today without ever contacting you. After the Bright House merger the first thing Spectrum did was raise my rates. I guess that is their way of getting me to hate them right out of the gate. I have ordered two on-demand movies from them and neither was watchable. The images would periodically pixelate and the audio would become garbled. I reported the issue and they would only credit me for one. Strike two. I am in the process of cutting the able with them and looking for other options. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Ordered service on line, was told to call to schedule service. Called and was told that former tenant did not cancel so they couldn't install and would have to go in person to prove I live there. Talked to my management company who contacted the tenant who actually moved his service and was already reconnected. Called back and was hung up on. Called back again and told to come in and prove I live there. I would expect an internet provider to be able to service customers ON LINE especially when the former tenant is already reconnected. Worse company in the world !!! My bill has increased every month !!! I called to have bill lowered and was told I would lose sports but nothing else . Took the deal and lost half my channels , so I called back and was told sorry that was a mistake on reps behalf but can't do anything about it. So when I asked to go back to the service I had, they explained they couldn't do that either because I was in a "old plan" that they no longer offered . So because of the reps mistake I have no choice but to pay more money. When asked if they had any protocol in place for a customer when a rep makes a mistake I was told no. The only thing they could do is take away my DVR and add back the channels I were told I wouldn't lose. I told her it wasn't fair I had to lose because of a error on their end , she agreed but said she couldn't give me anything for free. I was so upset she was saying I wanted something for free I just wanted them to keep their word. She told me she would coach the rep and that's the end of what she can do. I couldn't speak to anyone higher and I couldn't speak to corporate. Look for another provider. I had TV, Internet, and phone with them to the tune of over $200 per month. For much of the over 20 years I had them, they were the only game in town, and for the last few years I needed a land line for my security system. Of course, the price went up over that time period, so not all 20 years was at that rate, but I would safely say I paid them $30,000 over the life of the service. I finally moved and closed my account, but I moved 2 days into my billing cycle and they have a policy that they don't pro-rate, so my last bill was for $212.00 for 2 days of service. I sent them about $30 to cover my 2 days and asked them to waive the rest as I have been a loyal client for so long. They replied that it was a new policy (less that 3 months old) and no one could adjust my bill. They sent me to collections over $185 for 28 days of service I never received, after paying them over $30,000. Cut your cable and find another provider if you have a choice. read more

ZERO stars! After being a customer for over 10 years, never had a late payment when I had to disconnect services because I moved out of the United States in 2015. In 2017, I moved to California and learned that my credit score went from 790 to 477 because BrightHouse reported I didn't pay for a modem which should have been picked up with the cable box when services were disconnected. The modem was never picked up because I used my own modem--it was an error in the account which they agreed was made. The service was in auto-pay but for whatever reason it was billed differently. They claim to have sent me 2 letter and one phone call before ruining my credit. In conclusion, I paid the $129 but can't get a mortgage!!! Most horrible company ever. I moved and had internet service with same modem transferred to new address. They set up two new accounts for my hew address, charged me for un-returned equipment for the modem they transferred to the new address and activated. When I called them to have one of the new accounts closed they accidentally cancelled all my accounts. Were gonna charge me again to have one account reactivated. I told them to forget about it and I will return my modem today and will never sign up with them again. read more

I need a new remote control. They told me they do not deliver, I would need to pick one up or have one mailed to me. This sounds reasonable until you understand the remotes need to be programed to your TV. I tried this once before and could not do it. I was told they use to deliver and program them when they were Brigthhouse, but since they are now Spectrum it is against their policy. Do I have to give a star? Very much not deserved.... My DVR box was replaced because my TV Guide was not working when Spectrum took over. The TV Guide lasted about 2 to 3 weeks then stopped again. They sent another tech out and I waited another two hour window. The TV Guide went out the next day. They replaced the box again and I was told they have replaced a few boxes for the same problem in my area. After the second box was replaced, the next day it went out again, They rebooted the box and it didn't work, so I had to make another appointment. Waited another 2 hour window wait. The tech came out and restored the box to new which the box was already new from being replace 4 days before. The TV Guide started working again but went out two days later. They want to make another appointment for me to wait another two hours. REALLY!!! I told them they need to fix it in their system, as every box can not be bad. I told them they need to start communicating with each other about the problems because they evidently didn't hear what one tech told me about having to change a lot of boxes in my area for the same problem, but they refuse to listen. I have had to reboot my DVR Box every day. Each appointment is a 2 hour window wait and you are told they will call before they come out and if you don't answer the phone, they won't come. My waiting time is very limited because of being very busy. After loosing all my recordings and having to restore all my recordings just to loose them every time they change the box or restore it and my total wait of 6 1/2 time of all the days I had to wait and the aggravation, they gave me a total of $4.00 off my bill. Prices are very high to have to put up with this..... They will not work with you in between the 2 hour window wait. They think I am supposed to ignore my two family members with health problems and wait for them whenever they decide to come within the two hours. Some of us work and have very little time for this... I will go to another service before I make another appointment.. read more

spectrum has the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced with a company. The sales man who set up my service apparently lied to me, I call in speak with multiple representatives who can't assist me to be told a "higher up" is going to call on Tuesday (3 Days ago) so I called yesterday and was told the call back was pending. Called today and got a representative who wanted to argue with me about it. Smh I made a mistake with spectrum looks like AT&T will be getting my business. Do yourself a favor and don't even consider Spectrum for cable or internet. We have had non stop problems from the day we got them. They tell us we HAVE to have a phone line? Uhm no who the fuck uses a house phone??? Told them we didn't want It and they said we HAD to pay an extra $20/month for It. On top of that we pay $160 for internet and cable and 5/7 days our internet doesn't work. Also, BASIC channels such as ABC family, MTV, Nickelodeon, etc, are EXTRA. They do not come with and you must pay an extra $17.99/month for It. Absolutely ridiculous. Worst service ever. Each representative tells you different information and no-one takes responsibility for the calamity of errors. Spectrum is NOT a customer service company. The predecessor company, Brighthouse, was responsive and customer service oriented. I had Brighthouse Home Security. Any and all service problems were handled promptly and without charge. When a battery went bad on a door sensor Brighthouse policy was to have a technician replace it within 24 hours (free of charge). The same security system is now Spectrum. I called to report an error message regarding a low battery sensor. I was on the phone for 27 minutes being passed from 1 department to another. Finally spoke with Carlos who interrogated me about my account information to verify identity after Customer Service had already asked the same questions before passing me around. I told Carlos about the error message. He then said he was looking at the account and could see the system had a low battery error (after I had just explained that to him). After listening to his analysis he then told me that Spectrum does not service the batteries and I would need to go shopping for batteries and install myself. THis experience was a total waste of my time!! Spectrum pricing is exorbitant and unreasonable. I am now convinced to get off the grid asap. read more

Wow just got off the phone with supervisor from Birmingham AL. Seems that they will not waive a $5. Fee for payment over the phone. Mind you this was there machine putting me to there rep. And for being able to talk to there rep. I have to pay $5. There rep before supv. Said they would waive if it truly was machine fault when they saw it was machine they hung up. That is why I took it personally and now ordered service from CenturyLink. Good or bad I'll change. Let's say I go back in 2 months that $5. Is now a $160. I HATE Spectrum. I would give them 0 stars if I could. It all started when I called to attempt to lower my bill. (I've been with every iteration of this company since 1998.) They advised that in order to lower my bill I would have to change from a legacy Brighthouse plan to a Spectrum plan. Sounds simple enough, but there was no prorated credit for the difference in plan until my next bill cycled and I had to change my modem and a couple of my boxes. I went into one of their stores with the boxes only to be told I could keep them. But wait there's more... they stopped working 2 weeks later and I was forced to change them. The technician came with a new modem and a router (that I never asked for and don't need) and no boxes. Once we finally got all equipment changed, my phone number no longer worked and when I placed a call, the caller ID showed a random name and random Tampa phone number. I am in Apopka. Turns out I now had the phone number of the previous modem user. Making matters worse, the channels I was promised didn't work, and when I called in, I was told I was originally given bad information. 7 phone calls (totally 5 hours and 43 minutes), 2 office visits and 1 technician visit all in 1 month, later, I am miserable and they have the nerve to ask for my cell phone business. Let's now add insult to injury... when I told a technician I was planning to shop new companies, they sent me to the retention department who told me I needed to be on my new plan for at least 90 days before they can offer me anything. Spectrum has no value for a customer of 21 years with no late payments. I have tolerated their antiquated services (server instead of cloud based email. Drive instead of cloud based DVR memory and etc...) Trust and Believe, I will have different service provider before the 90 days is up. I end with... I HATE SPECTRUM!!!! read more

Finally, after moving to a location that allows another service provider, I was able to drop bright house. In doing so, I made three appointments for them to come pick up equipment. Nobody ever showed up. So eventually, I drove the gear to the customer service center on south semoran. The woman behind the counter literally said zero words to me as I placed the stuff on the counter. I said my good riddance, and I was finally rid of this joke they call a company. Terrible experience and awful customer experience. Technician arrived and started installation of new internet and phone service. Decided he didn't want to complete the job because he had to pull a cable across my attic. Offered to install in a back bedroom and said I could get a range extender if necessary to service my entire home. I declined and said I wanted it installed where my current service was located. Meanwhile 2 of my TV's were no longer working with my Directv service. They were all working before he went into my attic. He decided not to complete the installation; said he was not responsible for the TV issues and left. I called to complain and was told a field supervisor would call me in 30-90 minutes to discuss what had happened. That was 2 days ago. Still waiting. Directv had to come yesterday to fix my TV issues and found an outside cable disconnected and a broken cable in my attic. Awful experience and terrible customer service. read more

They have screwed up many of my channels and now are charging me more for the. i went to a cell phone with my home number on it,;should have been over $30. less on my bill. would have been with TWC, but not with Spectrum. I had had Brighthouse for 10yrs! As soon as Spectrum took over my bill went up by $100-they say I do not have the promotion price anymore..i did not know that they also changed my date due for payment. Thus leaving me in arrears! and Shut off! no notice like Bright house used to come to my house and leave a tix on my door-I work full time! Upon reconnection FEE and no promotion...a few months past looking for a new provider in the area I found AT & T. they gave me a rate of $150 bundle not $300. I am now in collection for a months miss billing- due to the Brighthouse not acknowledging their rate hikes-they do not care that I have been a dedicated customer .Really-they couldn't figure out that I did not owe them any money! it is the late charges and shut off fees that shouldn't have even been charged! I called to get internet hooked up for my apartment and I was told by others in my complex that it was 50/mo. When I called, they told me it would be 69.89/mo and after the 13th month, it would be an extra 20 dollars. That didn't seem right to me so I had my boyfriend call and they told him what I should've been told, 50/mo. He asked them why I got quoted differently, and they told him it was because I had used their services previously so it was more for me. I have never used spectrum for any of their services, internet, cable, nothing. Therefor I do not have an account with them. The worst customer service. I had to disconnect my services and move back to Ky due to illness and death in family. I was initially advised the payment could go back on the card used for the installation..a LIE. I was then told 4 to 6 weeks but because of my situation it had been expedited..ANOTHER LIE. This all started on 8/10 and i have records of every rep and each different story. I am now stuck in KY. Spectrum's business standards are to hold my $177.17 and squeeze the last bit of interest possible. I was told check was mailed on 8/12, i should receive it any day. Again i was told check was mailed on 8/15 should be there any day. Working with a manager assured me the check had been mailed on 8/23..today is the 28th NO REFUND CHECK. I am now going to Channel 9 Todd Ulrich..i cant pick up urgently needed prescriptions, i am dead in the water while this corporation squeezes the last bit of interest. Because they need the money. I hate Brighthouse, if I had any other choice of network for my apartment complex I would change immediately! I can not tell you how many times I have had to change my remote, cable box, reboot cable box, reboot wifi.....and i've only had them for 2 months!!! i've had them come out to my complex to fix something about 3 times and i have just given up at this point. i reboot my cable almost every day so i can get ondamand for that day then have to reboot it again the next day because it will be unavailable again. the internet connection is horrible and i will have access in the beginning but then if i search for more than 1 site, i get an error message that i'm not connected anymore. i can NOT wait to move out of here just so i can get someone else for my cable/internet services!!! read more

Except for new customers the cable, internet and phone are all over priced. Besides being very expensive, the service is incredibly poor. I recently downgraded my plan to internet only and planned to drop off the cable boxes in the next week. Later that night I found out from an automated call that they had scheduled an appointment for the next day at 9-10 to replace the modem. So I cancelled my work for the next day to be there for this appointment. Then they were late. I called to see where they were and found they were running late and wouldn't be here until after 1130. When mentioned that this was the was wrong and that they should keep the appointments they make especially when they force them onto you. So the take away is if you have other cable/internet companies that you can go with them. Do not use Spectrum!!! Today when I'm going to make my bill payment I see that I have $20.00 more. (without informing me previously). I called to the customer service and I talk with Mary and explain then she transfer me to another specialist, Jeniel. He informed me that I had a promotion with Bright House for 12 months. It is not true. When I moved to BH it was not a promotion. It is in the recording. It is not my problem if Spectrum or any other company name. I will not pay $65.26 just for INTERNET. This people are a joke. Since day one the contractor didn't even has tools for the installation, then they missed five appointments in a row.
