Spectrum will not take responsibility for THEIR error, which caused me hundreds in damages. A few months ago during a storm, I lost my internet connection. While power remained on in my home, Spectrum service was lost in my area. Later when I got a notification that service had been restored but my TV/internet was still not working, I called Spectrum for tech support. (I do not have Spectrum Cable TV, but instead stream through their internet to my TV). They ended up having to send someone to my house a few days later, as they could not find the problem over the phone. When the repair guy came out, he not only found that my modem, router, AND TV were damaged, but he went out to my yard and said that when Spectrum was installed, it had not been grounded correctly. His exact words: "When was your service installed? You were not grounded, but I've fixed it and you're all set now." He replaced my modem and router, but I still had a dead TV. It is clear that the issue came through Spectrum's line, not my regular electrical line since the other items plugged into the same power strip/surge protector were still working fine. The only things damaged were the modem, router, and my TV, which were all connected together....and it hadn't been grounded correctly outside according to their tech guy. Spectrum refuses to admit their fault with this. Even though the other items plugged into the power strip were fine, even though their repair guy said my Spectrum hadn't been grounded...even though the only things damaged were the things connected to the Spectrum line...they say it was not a Spectrum issue. I even told them that I was not expecting a full TV replacement since the damaged TV wasn't new....I would have been happy with partial/pro-rated reimbursement or even a credit to my account. They don't care. In addition, after my emails and calls to them, I had NO response. The only time I got a response was after I filed a complaint with the BBB. Even then, they say they tried to call me, but I have no record of that in my phone log, and no one ever left a message. Only after I called numerous times and demanded a response did someone finally actually call me. And my last contact with this person was a few days ago, when he said he'd look into something and get right back to me. Of course, no additional contact. Terrible internet service for the 3 years we had it but no other options. When I switched services, the guy on the phone intentionally attempted to make it incredibly difficult to cancel. Each question he asked and each bash to my new internet service provider turned me further and further away from ever considering spectrum again. When I told him I come from a sales background and understand the high pressure/make you feel bad sales technique (which I don't agree with), he stated "I'm not trying to sell you anything. I'm telling you the truth, and if that's the way you feel, that's your own prerogative. (with a defensive tone)." :) The reason the service was bad was my fault, not spectrums. I'll spare details. Spectrum no longer pro rates your bill when you move service if you move on the 3rd of the month they will charge you for a whole month despite not providing service. Spectrum is a horrible company. Spectrum's business practices are predatory and they don't care about their customers. I had TV/Internet with Spectrum and was a long-time customer, but they kept raising their prices every year. Those annual increases seem small, but after 8+ years of dealing with it, it was really adding up. I did try to see what they could offer to help make my bill more manageable, but it wasn't much and I decided to finally cut the cord with them. So I called to cancel my account and found out I was a week into the next billing cycle, but they still charged me for the full month ($250) instead of doing the RIGHT THING and pro-rating the bill (like most people would assume for a service). I was told that's because I had a monthly SUBSCRIPTION. Few people read the small print and that's how they get you. But I talked with the agent handling my cancellation at length to make sure all things were taken care of and he had me believing that the most recent payment I made had me covered through the end of that month - even though I still cancelled as of that same day. So I was under the impression I had already paid my very last bill via autopay, and I immediately cancelled my autopay and returned my equipment that week and thought I was all set. This was early December, and now we are in March and I'm getting notified that I have an unpaid balance. So I call to get it straightened out and come to the realization that agent back in December seemingly did not communicate appropriately (or understand what he was doing!) and thus I ended up "mislead" about the service period that was actually PAID for. Now it's three months later and I'm obviously upset about this misleading information and the $250 I seemingly owe, but I grudgingly do agree I still owe a balance. Due to their misleading information and all the confusion and run-around, I ask them to be gracious and that at this point I will only pay for the service I actually used (literally 7 days - there were 23 days of UNUSED service). Nope, they won't budge, even though it was on their end that led to all this hassle. I ended up speaking to 3 different people, the last one supposedly being a manager. Spectrum apparently trains their employees to be robots who read from a script and no matter how high up the chain you try to go to talk to someone and explain your situation, no one apparently has any authority to actually provide a good customer service experience. Corporations don't care about their customers. All Spectrum is about is their bottom line and they don't care about making something "right". Buyer beware if you ever do business with Spectrum!!! Even though Spectrum only gets One Star on Yelp anyways, I'm just going to add to it a little more to it. Spectrum is advertising that their lowest speed is 400 mbps. I have been getting 100 mbps. And when I call them on it, they said that they will change it to 400 if I pay them $90 more. Their customer service gave me a line of Bull, and why she could not bring it up 400 without paying more money. Spectrum is just a Big Ripoff as always. And when they tell you that you are getting 150 channels, you're not. You are getting about 35 channels, and the rest of the channels are duplicated and even more than doubled. I had the same company for 26 years. Once Spectrum bought in, the customer service went downhill and the prices went sky high. I must admit the customer service has gotten better of late but the prices keep going up. I asked them to reconsider as they were advertising cheaper rates. But they told me that was just how it is. The internet is good and I got a good deal at first but recently my bill jumped up $10 and when I stopped by to ask, they just blamed inflation and try to opt me into a shitty deal that lowered my bps. I asked the other customers and I've seen the same issue where prices jumped from as little as $5 to $20 in one bill and the only options you have is to downgrade, keep paying, or cancel. Other people in the store have also complained that there has been hiccups with added charges like added modems, home phones, and TV packages they never authorized. Had an older guy tell me that this was the 4rth time they added a home phone to his bill despite not using or receiving one If it wasn't for the need for internet for my job, I would have canceled on the spot but it looks like I'll have to look for another company in about a month. If you have money and don't have issues with bills, it's decent, but most of us are struggling out here and an increase is the difference of what you eat or how far you can drive any other day. I called spectrum to ask about a lower price on my internet services, and they did not offer an alternative, so I called again to cancel and magically they offered a lower rate after I already signed up with another carrier. I requested an email confirmation on September 17th, 2024, and still had not received it on September 25th, 2024. So, I called again, and the customer service representative had to re-pitch me the spectrum services, and she said that the cancellation had not been processed on September 17th, 2024, as I requested. She had to process it again and that they would send me an email that reads I have canceled my service. They finally acknowledged in an email that they were going to cancel my service and my service was paid till October 6 and they canceled it today. They advertise everything I am currently receiving for $50 per month, except for a mobile line I don't want. It is a bait and switch tactic. Absolutely the worst customer service and the equipment is flawed. I don't know how they stay in business. We are unable to watch on-demand on some channels. After multiple service technicians, hours on the phone and trips to the retail store I feel like I have been lied to repeatedly just to placate and distract me. People working for spectrum either were not properly trained or are willfully deceitful. Supervisors admit there are known issues and force you to try the same trouble shooting over and over again, with no success. Only to send out another technician who does not appear to know the history of what's been done or tried. I thought Comcast was bad, compared to Spectrum they are far superior. Besides Spectrum has not been a good players of transparencies which are: -They increase the fee without letting us know, like f "catch-me-if-you-can" through billing. If you have paperless and autopay, that where they got the extra money. Don't fall for the phrase " you have 60 days to dispute the differences ... -When you return the rented router/modem properly through procedure and instruction (through UPS scan code), they still charged you, until you called them to let them know that already returned, or they would tell you lie that they did not have the records or could track back the records, but still give me back 4 months? How the hell that you just reimbursed me for 4 months, while your rep just stated that they did not have the information of the returned rented device? -Spectrum fee is very high for old technology and considered very slow speeds, in my area is around 60-70mbp if we are lucky! Spectrum internet and TV is actually great. There are two reasons for the one star review. Firstly, their prices are exorbitant. Second, they do not let you downgrade or cancel any of your services with them online. You MUST speak to a representative. And based on how the representatives act, they are being penalized for agreeing to downgrade or cancel service. I've been on the phoner so far for 30 minutes trying to simply cancel my home phone service because I don't need it. So far I've been transferred once because the first lady wasn't able to convince me to keep it. She even mentioned emergency events (alluding to hurricanes because I'm in Florida) and then asked me if I have children in the home. If I had any other option for cable, or streaming, I would jump on it. That is, if I could manage to cancel my cable. 35 minutes on this call and counting. I'm betting it will take 90 minutes, but we'll see. What's even worse is that you can't contact them online in order to voice complaints, either. You can only speak to some poor underpaid and abused call center rep who is apparently under immense pressure to not let you cancel, no matter what. Spectrum is right up there with Cox. Actually, I think Cox is the better choice now, but I don't live in that area. Hey, Spectrum, we're not stupid. Internet for gaming and streaming is not good during peek hours. Even with the GIG service it canned t handle the volume and create latency and intermitted lag. The company hides behind there down and upload numbers but is not transparent with the ability to handle the amount of traffic during peak hours which results in lag and other issues. read more

I live in the numbered streets in Orange city, Florida. Every single time it rains my Internet goes out and I get an alert on the spectrum app that there is an outage in my area. Then it takes anywhere between 4 to 6 hours and occasionally overnight for them to correct the issue and get Internet working. I feel like I'm being neglected as customer and paying for a service that is hardly usable. I am very upset and would not recommend spectrum to anybody. read more

I'm not a customer and never will be. we had solicitors come to my apartment complex claiming our area was flagged for high cancellatilns. I Bernice Vernet was the primary individual I spoke to and she had a gentleman named Chris who was 1 week on the job. She conned me into giving her my phone number claiming she just needed it to send a confirmation code that shows they spoke to a live person at my address who was not interested in my services - wrong! I got a text for an order. I even texted her to tell her to cancel the order with no response. Today, another spectrum rep shows up and I told him what happened and how to give the equipment that got sent to me back. He told me to go to a spectrum store but also recommended I file a fraud claim. I help manage a law firm so I am going to do just that! Where to begin. If I could leave a negative Star it would be negative 5 stars. Purchased home a month ago. Spectrum ran a line down the center of property not on easement as required.Having a pool ​put in. Pool company came across a Spectrum cable line when started digging 3 weeks ago. Spectrum took over 6 hours to respond. Pool company stopped digging. Spectrum ​acted as if they had know idea of the issue. I was told they would add an underground line on the easement of property. They contracted a company to bury and run a new line underground. Our wifi is horrible and we are paying for 1 gig of service which we are getting less than half that speed. Our Pool company can't continue the major work of the pool and patio,leveling of the ground​ and everything else to complete this job. Spectrum doesn't care. The work from Spectrum seemed to just stop for 2 weeks now causing further delays of our Pool being completes because of the incompetence of Spectrum running there cable line on our property instead of on the easement. So after numerous phone calls and I mean numerous calls they send somone out at 12am walking on my property as if they own it. Doesn't introduce themselves mind you were are sitting in the backyard and we see some guy with a halo light around his head and wondering who they are. Thats a dangerous situation not knowing who somone maybe. He is approached and has a condescending attitude when asked about what are you doing on our property who are you? I then eventually find out why he is there. After 10 min of conversation he tells me he will be back in morning. Another person walks on our property cigarette in mouth and no visible company logo or anything and flicks his disgusting cigarette​ onto my property without and regard. We were so annoyed that I told him what did you do with the cigarette you flicked onto my property. He then tries to find it anyway so we are still held up by spectrum and the incompetence of there mistakes. What else is there to say. This company is terrible and really doesn't seem to care. We will be attaching photos to show everyone the mess they left. Verizon Fios please complete servicing our area so we can leave Spectrum. We are in Hernando Country brooksville area. read more

We had to ask off work, & set our schedules to accomodate; they no showed. then THEY rescheduled, and repeat performance for the 2ND service call. Including missing more work. When technician finally arrived, he checked everything before he left, and of course, within 10 minutes of his departure, our smart tv wasnt working.
