Do not subscribe to this company, if you have ANY other options. So many issues...We used them for internet and TV. When I found a better internet service and canceled Spectrum, I could no longer access my apps on my TV. They have constant TV/service interruptions. And they hook you with a decent monthly price and it continually goes up. We were with them 1.5 years and it had increased 50% by the time I canceled. read more

I was currently paying $143 and some change for our internet with Spectrum. When we moved in, they were the only company who had 1 gig of internet at the time. AT&T laid their fiber, and we are now paying $100 less. When I went to turn in my equipment to Spectrum, I verified with the in-store representative that we would not be charged again. I was told that I would not. I even had a conversation regarding packaging our mobile service through Spectrum (we are currently with AT&T) but we are paying the monthly fee for our cell phones and we still owe too much on our phones, but once those are paid down, I would look back into the cost to see if it would be cost effective. Well, that is not the case. We were 4 days past our cycle and, therefore, would be charged the full month. When I called today to dispute this, I was told they were like Netflix and wouldn't pro-rate the 27 days of the month that we will not be using. When I explained to him that I was told differently, "customer service" rep said they could not do it. When I explained that we would consider coming back to Spectrum and looking at combining our mobile service with the internet, he said to come back and they would consider working with us. Basically, he could take off the charge or work with us but chose not to. Sadly, it looked like they've lost quite a few customers in our area. He told me that he used to work for AT&T and they would do the same thing. I've been with AT&T for my mobile service back when they were SWB. AT&T has worked with me on several occasions, and I've always had great customer service. With the cost of living being what it is, it is necessary to research where we can get the best service for the best price. Another reason AT&T ranks better than Spectrum. Also, not sure why, but the Spectrum store at La Cantera closed. Could it be loss of customers due to poor customer service????? read more

DO NOT go to the Spectrum store in the 11000 block of Bandera Road. They will let you come in, let you sign in, and then tell you "sorry, we're closing". Hey, I desperately needed a new iPhone. My old one died, and I needed a working phone AND I was willing to pay cash outright (no financing) for the phone. My mother is on hospice and I needed a way to keep in touch with the nurses, and with a dead phone, that's not possible. The rude saleslady was too concerned about going home, not that a customer (with cash) was in the store and needed help. Customer service much? I asked for a $30 internet and some how they signed me up for $70 or $80 internet ( I don't recall the amount) and the fact the girl was sneaky about it and had disabled emails on my service which once I called the 1800 number they told me it's not automatically like that that they had to do that . Bottom line the internet keeps shutting off , you are never guaranteed reliable service, they run maintenance all the time and will shut off the internet for 6-8 hours . Even when it works the tower thing blips on and off frequently kicking us off devices and making us reset connections constantly read more

We had plans to use AT&T after moving to Texas from Illinois. AT&T could not deliver our cable boxes or modem/router for up to a week. We went to spectrum and spent 25 minutes talking to Matthew, walked out with active service, everything we needed for internet, 2 cable boxes, remotes, cables and splitters. The monthly fee is cheaper than AT&T, the service was better, and the stores are open. If you're stuck between AT&T and spectrum, spectrum is definitely the better choice. Since you changed out my service my internet is Super Slow! Can not connect my security system to this network. Your prices are ridiculous! Review for Spectrum not from this particular location. Have been a customer for 4 years with multiple weather outages, problem with equipment, requiring servicing and picking up equipment in-person three times within this time frame. What really burned me was the lie with 2 separate customer service agents who refused to cancel my spectrum phone service stating that the package deal was better than wifi alone. After 3 years of this lie I went ahead and cancelled and was charged $40 less monthly (it took 2 phonecalls to cancel as customer service simply said "no, we can't do that now, think about it". I had to get aggressive on the phone to cancel. Now I have finally switched to another service provider and just got off the phone with Spectrum trying to cancel service. No surprise - I was told I can't cancel for a future date and have to cancel on the day of. This makes no sense to me. I stated I was going to be working on the day of and wanted to cancel in advance ( I made the call 19 days in advance) . Stayed on the line for 30 mins/ representative initially said she could apply $65 saving on the last bill if I cancel at a later date but I declined since I will not be able to call at a later date. At this point representative changed her story and basically said there's nothing she could do and cancellation button is not active for her yet. There was no survey at the end of my call. I wish I never signed up for Spectrum. The frustration is never-ending. read more

Dropped cable/phone and kept only internet. Have been trying to understand why we have had increased issues with dropped internet. We no longer have high speed options in our neighborhood other than Spectrum with AT&T with U-verse going away and no Google or AT&T fiber available. We have worked repeatedly with Spectrum trying to isolate. Even got the, oh your equipment is out of date so we can either ship new or you can pick up from office. Working from home , I decided to go pick it up that evening. When they brought the modem and router out it was the same models and when asked about that they said well sometimes equipment stops working. I install everything and same result, dropped service. A tech comes out, installed a splitter, that has no impact whatsoever. I ask, what if I go out and get a mesh router, he says that's what I have. He leaves and after a couple of hours more intermittent internet. Another call back and the online tech says he sees packet loss between router and modem. So I go the extra step and swap out the Ethernet cable between the devices (brand new cable they provided), same result. Only thing they can say is we will send a tech out. For the next hour or so intermittent internet, dropped packets visible when watching TV. I am fed up, I head out to Best Buy and pick up a mesh router. Problem solved! And I might say much better throughput as well, less jitter, latency, etc. TV looks better streaming now than it did with cable. In summary, their wifi router is junk and can't handle the service. The internet product itself is solid. I know not everyone is comfortable with this option, but saves hours of frustration. Set ups are really easy these days. Most brands have setup videos and the include much better instructions with the hardware. Hope your experience is better than ours, but wanted to share ours and resolution in hopes this will help others. read more

Went in because my modem suddenly turned off. I called the helpline and the service was average. This store is slow. Idk if they just don't like their jobs but they aren't helpful- they're rude and pushy and really don't care. I've walked into other stores needing only an equipment swap and been in and out. This is in no way the case here. Working from home means I rely on my equipment to work. The spotty service already is frustrating, adding on unhelpful and rude staff is just the Cherry on top. When I walked in and attempted to be put on the list, the console was stuck and in Spanish. I don't speak it, and no staff would help me get out of the menu so I could register. Instead of helping me when I approached to let them know, she got an attitude and was ridiculously rude to me. For such a simple problem and solution you wouldn't expect to be stuck in the store for almost an hour. This has to be one of the worst stores I've ever been in period - and definitely the rudest staff spectrum is so well known for. What's really great is you can hear more staff in the back- but only one or two are present in the center to assist customers. Besides all of that, the store is clean and there is seating. People still stand too close even with seating available and staff does not attempt to spread people out. read more
