Astound internet service was installed Feb 6, 2026. On Feb 26, 2026 they had to come out again due to an error message repeatedly saying "no internet". The the original installer apparently didn't complete the job and neglected a step. On March 30, 2026, I started receiving the same error message "no internet". This went on for 2 or 3 hours before internet service resumed without constant interruptions of no internet service. Yesterday April 8, 2026, at approximately 2:48pm I started receiving the same message "no internet". I rebooted, shut everything down and restarted. It worked for about 5 min before saying the same thing. So I called Astound and was told that I was going to need someone to come out because something was wrong AGAIN! I've only had Astound for 2 months and a technician has been required twice within that time frame. So everything I've heard about Astound appears to be true! Very Dissappointed! read more

Avoid this company and their predatory pricing at all costs. They are charging us way, way, way more than than is reasonable for the insanely low level of service they are providing and when we try to cancel they want nearly 10K in early termination fees. They increase prices without notice. When you call to lower, you have to do the back and forth with a customer service rep, then a couple months later they just increase them again. If you stop service because you're moving, they will not prorate. You have to drop off equipment in the middle of nowhere. read more

This is about what they decided AFTER I requested to discontinue with them. On February 16th Astound was notified on the phone that their service was no longer wanted. February 16th. Since my bills were all paid to them they told me that I would be paying for service until March 14th. I requested a pro rata refund after February 16 and was DENIED! Though I took the service of a competing company, I was told that I must pay until March 14th and I have no choice in the decision. I cancelled because their internet was constantly shutting down. Recently I had to go 30 hours without internet. This company did not have the decency to give me a pro rated refund. They are keeping money that they should not keep. How sad! read more

I have just handed my EERO device to an Astound technician. An Astound technician left this behind in my apartment. I will be charitable and say that his neglect was accidental. Astound charged my account $130 for their technician's mistake. Now my question is how long it will take Astound to refund my money. My guess is they will take their sweet time. This company disrespects its clientele at every move. It takes about 15 minutes to listen to its commercials and tell what department you need. they live up to their name, I am ASTOUNDed at the poor costumer service I have received this past week after being a customer for 25 years. Called to report my service was out again, a repeat issue about every 6 months, that the box outside of my house is causing issues with my internet. The woman on the phone said she could tell it was intermittent service and an issue. I ha to wait 4 days for Jason to come out to tell me that the issue was the box outside needing the maintenance dept. and that he would have to submit a ticket. I was frustrated because I told them that was the issue. I called Fri night when I didn't have service and spoke to Nick who told me NO, there was no solution to the problem except for me to call them when I lost service. I asked if they could monitor the account, NO, could they flag the account and check the box every 5 months, NO, could they submit a maintenance ticket at the same time I called to save some time, NO. The supervisor Rich refused to speak to me until he relayed through Nick that a maintenance ticket can take 8 weeks or 2 months to be repaired. I asked if he meant that I could be without service for 2 months and he YES. This is not acceptable and why the supervisor thought this information would be helpful to me I don't know. I called back Sat to verify this information and Holly said that was the note on my account but they could have someone out on Mon. I am a person that rarely leave reviews but honestly I need to inform others about this company. I have internet interruptions "EVERY MONTH" no exaggeration. This last for at least 2 to 3 days -all day! When you call to resolve or see why your services are being interrupted, no one and I mean no one can find a root issue. No neighborhood outages, bad weather or power outages -it just don't work. Then they will try and troubleshoot from their end -which doesn't work. Next, they will schedule a technician to come out & check out the issue -well you never get to see the technician because they will cancel the appointment without any reason to why it was canceled. This will continue to happen for about a year. At this point enough is enough. I am clearly paying for a service that is unreliable or trustworthy, & no I do not stay in a rural area or a dead zone. read more

Terrible, terrible service. I was with Grande for many years before it was acquired by Astound. I was always relatively happy with the service, price and customer support. Since the acquisition, my service became increasingly erratic, often going out for anywhere from an hour to a day. Each time, I called Astound and was told the problem was on my end and to fix it, I would need to pay $75 to have a technician come to my house. Each time, the issue resolved itself. The final time, service was out for several days. I made the switch to Google Fiber and on the day it was activated, called Astound and canceled my service. The next day, an Astound salesperson left me a voicemail acknowledging my cancellation and offering to give me a discounted rate to renew. I declined to respond as there was no way I was going back, but the next billing cycle, I was charged for service post-cancellation with the discounted rate applied. I called Astound on a weekend and after a lot of back and forth, was told I needed to talk to a manager but one wasn't available. The rep promised a call back, which I never received. I called Astound again on a weekday and the rep told me that for some reason my account had been canceled as requested, then reactivated with the discount applied. I was told I needed to stop automatic payment through my credit card or it would be charged and I'd have to request a refund. I did so -- received a confusing statement today that applied an overcharge credit from the month before but then applied a customer loyalty charge for the billing cycle post-cancellation, mostly negating the refund. I'm too fed up and exhausted to inquire into that piece. So far, Google Fibre has been reliable and the charge is upfront with the promise that it won't inexplicable be raised in the future (another issue with Astound - the charges just kept going up. I have no idea how this company stays in business. I strongly advise anyone interested in their services to stay away!!! read more

I returned all astound equipment I was provided but because they didn't receive something that I did not have, I was charged. I had my first bad experience with Grande/Astound today. My Internet went out around 2:00pm yesterday. I called and their automated system said there was a problem at my house they would have to send a technician out to check. System also said the first available slot was between 10:00 and noon, which I took. And the system called me at 5:00 to confirm I still wanted the 10-12 appointment. Before 10:00 I checked and Internet was still unavailable. So planted myself on the couch to wait. (I can't go in to the office, I have to meet the technician. I can't log in remotely, I have no Internet.) Noon rolls around and no one has showed or called, so I call Astound to check on their progress. And was very surprised for the automated system to tell me my appointment slot was between 8:00am and 9:00pm! So I ask for an agent and he is confused by the situation, too. He sees a small entry in the computer that he thinks means they found a larger outage? He asks me to check my cable model, and to my surprise it shows it's connected. So kudos to Astound for fixing the problem. But minus 500 points for not keeping the customer informed and letting me waste valuable work time (as I get paid hourly). (I'll accept responsibility for squandering another 15 minutes to write this review.) I'd always been happy with Grande's customer service--I've been with them for many years. As noted by others here: my internet goes out for 1-2 days around 1-2 times every 2-3 months it seems, and they provide you no advance notice and the customer service is shit (example, sit on the phone for 20 mins with a robot to press buttons so it will finally send you on somewhere and stop repeating the same shit and then they either (1) never answer, (2) take 40 minutes to answer, or (3) tell you it's a long wait and to click an option to get a call back, only to then tell you the service isn't working when you click it and hang up; so you have to call back and start over). read more

just got astound two days ago while moving into a new place. WORST. DECISION. EVER! Paying for gig speeds, got home and did self hook up and it connected right away As it should. I get everything connected: modem- eero. I run a speed test after everything gets an online status only to see that I'm getting TEN, yes TEN MBPS download and upload. I contacted support and needless to say, they did not help me at all, and couldn't work around my busy work schedule mon-fri(6am-5pm) or weekends! Then they have the audacity to try and offer me a phone plan that is "reliable, works with all 5g towers etc. etc. oh, your internet speeds aren't what you're paying for? Oh a technician can only come over when you're not going to be available. Oh, by the way, do you want to get phone service with astound since we can't even help you with your internet? NO! I was originally quoted $45/month including taxes and fees by the rep who helped me sign up, but the monthly rate turned out to be around $66.90. I contacted customer service multiple times, and despite being told I was "misinformed," they said there was nothing they could do. My case was even closed without notice. The issue was only resolved after I emailed the original rep myself, not because of anything customer service did. I'm relieved it's been fixed, but it should not have taken this much effort. If you're signing up, be cautious, get everything in writing, and don't rely solely on customer service for help. I think it took too long to get another appointment which, in any case, was still three days away. I estimate my phone service hasn't worked consistently for about a month. After the recent Austin storm the internet has been out. After 3 weeks and 3 service calls Astound keeps sending a technician to "fix" our modem. They promised to send a construction crew to repair the line but once again they show up to "reset" the modem. Since they've been sold to an investment banking group the service has nosedived. UPDATE: After a call with the dispatcher, they promised to keep someone here all day until fixed. Tech said it was a 2 man job but to his credit he worked all day and just completed by himself. In the future I will call dispatch directly and avoid customer service. I don't know how to send a private message from here but I consider the matter resolved. read more

I don't feel like I am even valued as a customer at this company, my speeds are constantly dropping off and I work from home and this is absolutely not acceptable if I am paying for the 1000 Mb package and I'm literally receiving 1 mb at times. I have never left a review for something like astound in my entire life but I honestly need to get on here and write this simply just to vent about how much I truly despise this company. The service astound offered me was actually pretty decent, and I hardly ever dealt with issues like drop outs or outages. I will however note that their app is not only completely useless, but there are hardly any ways to contact customer service aside from a phone call if you actually want anything to be addressed, and they do not offer any way of seamlessly allowing you to change parts of your equipment out without having to CALL SOMEONE over the phone. I learned the hard way that they have absolutely NO WAY of allowing you to manually change your modem, and if you ever try to do it over the phone you will 100% lose all of your service and have to wait for a technician to arrive and set your internet back up for you. I moved from Kyle to Austin and the new apartment I'm in does not offer Astound, so I cancelled my service with Astound on Sept. 17th, 2025. I was told after cancelling my service that it would still run all the way until the end of the month on Sept. 30th, and I had 30 Days (Oct. 30th) to return the equipment that I had on hand. Obviously I'm busy moving, and I am currently commuting over an hour to/from work, so I'm planning to return the equipment before the date I was told it's due, but I'm definitely taking my time as it's not really a priority for me. On Oct. 23rd, I received a charge of $519 for unreturned equipment. I make $22 an hour and get paid weekly, so this is literally almost my entire paycheck. As soon as I saw this charge, I found the nearest Astound office and spent a nice hour commuting over there to return my equipment, and after returning it I was handed a receipt. The lady at the counter told me that I would be receiving a refund for my charge the following business day. (Oct. 24th) I did not receive my refund the following business day, I didn't even have it after an entire week. So, I decided to give them a call and ask when I would be actually be receiving my refund. They told me it would be 10 business days because the refund has to wait until their equipment is returned to inventory to process. I went ahead and waited those 10 business days, so here I am right now on Nov. 7th, after calling them asking where my refund is because I have still not received it. They now tell me that I have to wait until Nov. 23rd to receive my refund, because it was set to process on the days I would typically be charged for my service. How am I supposed to know if I will actually be given my refund on the 23rd? How is it that a multibillion dollar company can not figure out how to issue a refund for equipment that they probably already sent out to someone else and are profiting off of now? I was given misinformation on 3 different occasions, and yet I'm the only one actually suffering here because I'm not almost 1/4 of my entire income for the month AFTER MOVING EXPENSES, and now I just have to wait and see if the words they told me were actually true or not? I guess I'll be back to update this review on Nov. 23rd to see if I actually receive my money or not, but honestly the customer service is actually terrible and I can't believe how incompetent this company really seems to be. read more

Easily the worst interest you can get. Latency spikes, often reaching 150ms are too common. We pay for the gigabit, but only receive a fraction of it. You call for service and they'll tell you it's your equipment, they'll replace it, and nothing will change. Pretty sure their techs are purely trained to gaslight their customers because they give you the same speech every time about how it's your equipment not their service. You've replaced our equipment God knows how many times, so how can it be that? Not worth any amount of money. They should close themselves down read more

Astound is the WORST! i was forced to change to this company because my complex has a contract with them. I knew something wasn't right when i scheduled them to set everything up and the tech never showed. i finally got someone out here and they told me i could get a 10 discount on my bill if i had my payment through my bank and on autopay. There was an error and now my bank cannot be added. I have called and called and spoken with a supervisor who assured me that it would be fixed and it NEVER has been! I called again and they said a supervisor would call me back. NOTHING! no one ever called. i finally just added my debit card to at least get a 5 dollar discount for autopay but they said it would not be added to this bill only the next one. SCAMERS! i told them today i was tired of all the crap and no help and wanted to change to a lower plan. They told me i needed to apply on a different website. When i checked it, it states i can only get a lower price if i have not had a plan with them for 60 days. These people are the WORST customer service i have every dealt with. They cannot help or do anything. The supervisors are never there and they are inept and have no control, power or are able to fix or change anything. How the mighty have fallen. Before the Astound (terrible name for a company by the way) merger/acquisition, Grande was THE BEST Internet provider in the country, hands down. Grande's customer service was 24/7, the prices were good, free service calls, and the billing was never an issue. Ever since Astound and their terrible name took over, is been a downward spiral. First things first, whenever you called Grande, you got a Texas-Based person; Since the takeover, you get someone here, or you get someone up north, or you can get a cheap off shore call center, because they are beginning the process of not employing US folks in the quest to save money and give you worse customer service. Well I don't know about you, but when I call Grande, I want a local, and nothing but. The second thing is they keep screwing up my billing ever since the takeover. I won't get a bill, or it arrives after the due date, or more often than not, is the wrong amount, so then you have to call them.... But today was the final straw. Grande paid, and hired enough people that I had never, in 20 years of having Grande, waited more than 5 or 6 minutes for a Texas based customer service rep. Ever since "Astound" took over, I'm ASTOUNDED at how wait times have crept up little by little. I called today and the automated computer said I have a wait time of 32 minutes?!? No. I'm not going to be treated like a Time Warner or an AT&T customer ever again. I'm done Grande, or should I say, Astound. Your name is awful, and your stingy mature nature is shining through. Traaaash!!!! Always a random outage and my service been out all weekend especially during this winter storm. It went out a day before the storm even happened that's when I called it in. They made me set a appointment after the weekend (Monday) for someone to come fix it then call me the day of to reschedule when the weather already had calmed down around 3pm (appointment was scheduled from 1pm- 5pm) the ice was melted already. Seriously they suck! I had no service stuck in the storm all weekend and they still have the audacity to ask me if I want to upgrade to their TV and mobile service SMH! They're straight garbage!!! They could have came before the storm like Saturday morning for example you know work with me since they know the weather was gonna get bad over there having storm updates on their website. I've moved a lot & have tried just about all the different wifi/internet services that Austin has to offer & Astound (Nicknamed A$$tound in Austin) is the worst one by far. Always cuts off & always outages. And I mean A LOT! The price was the only good thing but it's cheap because it sucks. You are literally paying for what you get. I work from home & I need reliability! For fun I gave them a shot, knowing I was rolling the dice. But I def would never come back. I'm writing this review rn as I get my Google fiber set up & running. I def recommend by the way! This will be my 2nd time using them. The only reason I didn't the first time was because they weren't in my area when I first moved. In my personal opinion, Astound is top tier in the WORST broadband category... followed by Spectrum. They started me at $35 and over 5 years of loyalty, raised me all the way to $73, little by little. Great if you gave reliable service, I'll pay the increases. But you don't have reliable service and won't compensate for lost work hours. When I called to disconnect, I love how you immediately had an Account Executive call me the very next day to offer me $34 service. No contract and guaranteed rate for 2 years. In the same call, AE also took responsibility for the 5 years worth of outages and will give credit for 3 months, every other month. Oh and their sneaky T/C gets you. It's like the effing mob! You can't even leave and pro-rate from the day you cancel. They make you wait and pay a whole other month of cycle if you don't call before month end! Price gouge. I hope you get a class action. He escalated issue to the network team. Called the next business day and customer rep did not have a clue of what was going on. Suggested placing another service call to have a technician out again.
