I had a strong exhaust smell inside of my 2012 Chevy Cruze. Had no idea what was causing it. But I knew I had to get it fixed. Was recommended I stop at Speed Auto Care. The guys at Speed told me it was an exhaust manifold gasket leak. They opened the hood showed me the exhaust manifold and what was going on. They took care of it and the smell is gone. I didn't even get my mother's car there, it was real simple, people. My mother's brake line sprung a leak in the drive way. So this past weekend two days ago I scheduled to have her car picked up by their very own flat bed rollback for 49 dollars, no problem even got a quote of $325.00 or so . I said it's worth it to me I want guaranteed work for my money. so I gave the man he was very nice my name address and my phone number because he asked for it and told him if you can not pick it up today on Saturday pick it up on Monday he said no problem .well here's Monday and my mother waited and my made sure the driveway was wide open for them to pick it up no truck I came home from work and her car is still in the driveway I asked her what happened I called the guy this morning told him driveway is wide open walk up to the door ,my mother will answer and she'll give you the key. everything's okay yes sir no problem we'll pick it right up. I didn't even get a phone call from these people and I had to wait till I got home to see my mother's car still there. the car didn't even make it to their garage this is an embarrassment to them .they didn't even call me to say it was okay to pick it up tomorrow since they didn't give me a call I guess what didn't get my business and they have this review. How unprofessional can you be .freehold is very thin with professional garages there are several in the radius of 5 miles I can't find one that I could stick with .what has happened to this industry. read more

Not worth your time or money. The last thing this place should be known for is speed. They took 2 days to do a job that takes under 3 hours. Replacing a simple water pump. I know this because I called around and was told even a slow mechanic who takes lots of breaks can get it done in under 3 hours. Then they completely ripped me off on the price. They charged me over 550 dollars on a job that takes at max 3.5 hours to do. 150/hr is highway robbery. Stay away and avoid the ripoff, headache and hassle. OWNER CARLOS, SPEED AUTO CARE 610 PARK AVE. FREEHOLD. Brought my truck to Carlos for a simple repair. When I came to pick it up, Carlos the owner told me he hit a deer with it. He told me he would repair it. 3 months now, and all he does is ignore me. IF YOU WANT YOUR VEHICLE SMASHED, THEN BRING IT TO CARLOS. I have front end damage now that causes the vehicle to wobble, a smashed grill and a bumper that hangs an inch lower on one side. read more

I give this place 2 stars because it is conveniently located to my job and does basic repairs. The problem is the repairs are not quality. I went there for a simple plug in a tire to fix a slow leak. They plugged the tire and I was on my merry way. Seems simple right? Well the next day I came out to my car on my way to work and the tire was damn near flat... did I have another nail that quickly? I took it closer to my home as it was extremely low only to find out that the plug they put in was not put in properly and was therefore still leaking. Needless to say I was not happy. If I could have made it back to them without fear of getting a total flat I would have done so, but I didn't want to take the chance and I highly doubt they would have admitted the mistake anyway. I won't be back. I doubt they would care anyway as the guy behind the window didn't seem too friendly and barely spoke. But he had no problems taking my $15 for a shabby job! read more
